Yes i didn't think the whole number was a requirement for everyone to see after I sent it to you, do you have any other suggestions? apprentley I can do it manually using these instructions:
Check your device’s SKU through the following procedure.
On the tablet, go into Settings » About tablet. Then, check the Build number.
If the build number starts with “TW”, your SKU is TW. Similarly, if your build number starts with “US”, you must download the firmware for the US SKU. Similarly for WW, you need to download the WW firmware.
Download the update for your SKU from the official ASUS website. Select Android from the drop-down box, click on Firmware, then download the latest update’s file.
Extract the downloaded zip file once to obtain another zip file.
Now, we need to copy the obtained zip file to the tablet.
If you have a custom recovery like ClockworkMod or TWRP installed on the tablet, copy the zip file obtained in step 3 to the internal SD card.
If you are on stock recovery on the tablet, rename the file to ”EP201_768_SDUPDATE”, then copy it to the external SD card.
[Important] Now, further steps depend on whether you have stock recovery on the tablet or are using a custom recovery like ClockworkMod or TWRP recovery. Follow step 6 if you have stock recovery on the tablet, or step 7 if on a custom recovery.
For stock recovery
Shut down the tablet. Hold Power + Vol Down buttons until a message appears saying “Press Vol. Up to enter RCK (5s)”. Here, press the Volume Up key within 5 seconds to enter recovery.
The update will automatically start installing, then the tablet will reboot after the update is finished.
You can now stop following the guide as your tablet has now been updated.
For custom recovery
Shut down the tablet. Hold Power + Vol Down buttons until a message appears saying “Press Vol. Up to enter RCK (5s)”. Here, press the Volume Up key within 5 seconds to enter recovery.
Select wipe cache, then select Yes to confirm cache wipe (if using TWRP recovery, select Wipe, then select Cache/dalvik cache).
Select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from sdcard. Scroll to and select the update file that you copied to the tablet in step 4. Confirm installation by selecting Yes on the next screen. (if using TWRP recovery, select Install, then select the update file)
After the update is installed, select go back then select reboot system now to reboot the tablet (if using TWRP recovery, select the Reboot system button to reboot the tablet).
After the tablet reboots, it will be running the latest firmware.

People reported that one factory reset did not do the wipe completely, 2 should be enough, but I like to play on the "super clean wipe", I do it 3 times right before you upgrade. Not going to hurt, why not?

Don't worry about the OTA, this is the incremental update, you want the full version update anyway. Just follow the direction that you posted above. Do you want to root your device? if you do, you need to do it now before upgrade to Jelly Bean. Once you're on Jellybean, you can't root anymore.

Not a problem, just downgrade back to .30, then do root. Just make sure you do reset in between before downgrade or upgrade. After downgrade back to .30, please let me know if you have OTA back for JB upgrade.

I was able to get to Jellybean per the below method with my stock Infinity. The issue is that OTA Root Keeper doesn't seem to keep root with installing from/with a EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip.
I would like to avoid using the unlocker because I just want to be rooted not really fool around with any rom's at this time.
Anyone got suggestions?
Mine came as a stock V9.4.5.26 US SKU. That is what I updated to Jelly Been from with V10.4.4.16 US SKU zip.

If you don't want to unlock, the only way is you have to downgrade back to .30, root, install OTA rootkeeper and make a root backup, then do the OTA upgrade to JB, then restore root with OTA rootkeeper.

Hello!
You will need to get a custom recovery flashed to your tablet now that you have unlocked.
Go to this guide CROMi help scroll to where it says "here we go" in blue.
Read the info about installing a custom recovery using ADB installed on a desktop computer.
If this is too complex then go here ADB Tool V8 use this to push a recovery to your tablet.
After this you can install super SU and gain root in JB.
If you can't get nvflash as it appears per your fm rev and don't feel comfortable with the steps in the all-in-one guide then I suggest you get help from some of the members here to walk you thru it. Luckily its very automated if you downgrade to ICS, use the batch file ICS root method, then get superuser or superSU, OTA rootkeeper or Voodoo OTA rootkeeper (both from the market), protect your su copy once you root (done in the app), and OTA back to JB 10.4.4.25 and you are good to go (Asus upgrade notification will occur before you finish all this).
I just landed from that flight and the ride was turbulence-free. But it took me a week to gather the info and another week to gather the courage to do it. Quite the learning curve for the newb no doubt and I'm a fast learner.

As I am sure many people said already:
1) install GooManager.
Go to the settings button, tap 'install TWRP recovery'.
Let GooManager do its magic.
1.a) do a titanium Backup of your data and apps.
b) make an 'orange backup' backup
(don't forget to change the CWM option to TWRP)
(easier than regular backups because it doesn't require you to turn it off.
2) download your preferred custom ROM
put it on your device
open Goo: tap reboot in recovery
3*) select wipe => factory reset when going to CM10.1
3°) selecht wipe => cache , and afterwards: dalvik cache
4) Still in TWRP: tap install and browse to the approprate .zip
Swipe to flash
5) let it reboot
(6: set it up: download titanium backup again and then open it and click restore to retrieve all your app data.)
7) Congratulations

Haha you're in luck. There is a new tool that allow you to root while on JB rom. So I recommend to download the FULL ASUS rom from Asus website, unzip the file then use your twrp to flash this rom. After this, you will be on the latest 4.2 but you will lose root and TWRP. Then go here to get the tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230763 and root your JB. Once done download Goomanager from the market and install the latest TWRP. From here on you can flash what ever you like.

Since you only have stock recovery, you need to do this:
1. Download the latest Asus full firmware from Asus site. Decompress downloaded .zip file (it will be another .zip)
2. Rename the new zip file to EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip
3. Format FAT32 the MicroSD card that you will be using for the update process
4. Copy the file to (the root directory of) your MicroSD
5. Insert it into the tablet
6. Shutdown (power off) the tablet
7. Power it on by pressing and holding VOLUME DOWN and POWER buttons simultaneously
8. When you see white text in the top left corner of the screen, release the buttons, then press VOLUME UP button twice, the upgrade process
should start...
9. Wait patiently for 10 minutes or so
Once done, use Asus unlock tool to unlock then use motochopper to root and once rooted download Goomanager app from the market to install custom recovery (TWRP). Finally use TWRP to flash ROM/Kernel.

You can use the Unlock tool from Asus website. It says it's for ICS only, but it works perfectly for JB 4.2.
So, first step is to unlock.
Next step is to get a custom recovery onto the tablet. TWRP 2.5 is the best for the TF700. If you are familiar with ADB or fastboot, you can push the recovery blob to the tablet. That would save you the step of rooting the stock rom.
If you're not that familiar with ADB/fastboot, the next step would be to root the tablet:
Search for the Motochopper thread by Dan Rosenberg here on XDA and follow the instructions.
Once rooted, download Goo manager from Play.
Run it, grant root access ad then tap the 3 dots in the top right. Select "Install Open Recovery Script" and let it do it's thing. This will install TWRP 2.5 on your tablet.
Download Cromi-X to your SD or microSD card.
Boot into TWRP with Volume Down + Power, select the flashing RCK with Volume Up.
Select "Backup" and make a nandroid of your stock rom, then hit back or Home.
Select "Install", find the Cromi-X zip, check the box "verify zip signature", swipe to flash
Go through the options in the Aroma installer. If unsure about the choices stick with the default - you an always re-flash with different options.
Enjoy!

Thanks berndblb for the succinct procedure. After the issues I've been having with the 4.2 update I decided to just unlock it, root it and get a custom ROM but was a little confused about what had to be done in what order. I've just finished putting Baked Black Bean 8 on and am getting it all set up.
I have Clockwork mod installed and I am running 4.1.2 JB and I am trying to find out if I can use this to downgrade to 4.1.1 JB. I have never used cwm and I want to put mr.robinsons root injected stock 4.1.1 on my phone. With my ATT s3 I just used odin right from the start to do this and then installed TWRP. On this verizon I used casual to root, unlock bootloader, and install CWM. but now I wish I would have just used odin and Mr. Robinsons method right off the start because I dont know how to get cwm to downgrade to that root injected stock image. If you got the zip rom to be use with cwm then just boot to cwm, select wipe cache, then select advance, then select wipe dalvik cache, then go back to the main page, select install from zip, browse to the zip then flash.

It was a 7z file with a .tar inside it. Can you point me to where I can get the cwm version? Can I just use the file I downloaded and rename it update.zip? That might be a stupid question but I ask anyway. Is there a mr.robinson 4.1.1 root injected stock image that I can use in cwm. Heres the deal. On my ATT if you downgrade to 4.1.1 JB, then you can use that SIM unlock method in the service menu. I searched for hours to find out if you can downgrade verizon to 4.1.1 and do the same thing but I found nothing. on 4.1.2 the menu is there but not all of it and the ATT was the same at 4.1.2, but once I downgraded to 4.1.1 the rest of the menu options were there and I successfully SIM unlocked it. I have found nothing on this for verizon so I figured Ill just downgrade and try it myself. if it doesnt work Im not out anything Ill just use casual again and deal with it.

If you download this file http://androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390210501348163619 and flash with ODin, but it will not wipe your data, relock your bootloader or replace recovery, it only pre-rooted. Unzip and flash with Odin.

With cwm installed, how do I get to the necessary download mode to use Odin? When the phone is booted and running Odin sees the phone but if I try to boot into recovery it only gives clockwork mod and odin doesnt see it.

download rebooter from the market, open and select bootloader mode.
or the old fashion way
power off device, hold down volume down + home button, then press power button until you see message on screen, then hit volume up button, you should be download (Odin) mode.
