Garmin Asus A10 system_ext3.img - General Questions and Answers

Hi everybody,,,
I have a problem with my Garmin Asus A10 system partition that made the phone unable to boot and stuck on the startup screen.
I'm able to use fastboot,,,,and I can flash img images.
My main request is i want the system.img and boot.img (if available) dumped files for the garmin asus A10 in order to flash the system partition to bring the phone back to life.
Can anybody upload this file? plz....
I have the raw file: 512_A10_PACKAGE.raw Recovery image but i don't know how to extract the .img files from it.
Thanks,,,,

[Q] how to mod w9 rom system.img

mid w9 use rk2818 chip
i use rk2808 mod tools unpack the system.img but not
pls help me how to unpack/pack to the w9 system.img
thanks master
any one help me
You got any luck with that? I have been trying everything I could think of without success.
http://twitter.com/naobsd has expressed interest in helping.
He needs a system dump
RK2818 can be rooted with UniversalAndRoot
You then need to run a Terminal Emulator application to dump the contents of /system into a tar and upload it
If you can dump the contents of other useful partitions, that might be good as well.
sorry for my inaccurate explaination.
I don't want dump image itself.
I already know
1. system.img in update.img is encrypted (other files are not encrypted, same as RK2808)
2. RKAndroidBatchUpgrade.exe for RK2818 decrypt system.img, then flash into device
3. decrypted system.img(cramfs) can be get by dumping system partition on live device
4. dumped decrypted system.img can be unpacked by fsck.cramfs
then, I want know following procedure can be done:
5. pack update.img with dumped decrypted system.img from device
6. flash update.img(5.) by RKAndroidBatchUpgrade.exe for RK2818
it should be easy to try, but I don't have any RK2818 device. I'll get ONN-N2 but no official firmware is released yet. so I can't make complete update.img for ONN-N2. (no RK28xxLoader(L).bin)
--
I know old flash tool for RK2808 can flash single partition. I think it should work on RK2818 because new flash tool for RK2818 can be used for my RK2808 device (iRobot)
but, anyway, I don't have RK2818. I can't test anything on real RK2818 device.

Wopad?
I'm not sure if I have the same device as in this thread, but I'm familiar with adb and rooting. I've tried universal Androot on my device and it doesn't give me root. Z4root does but only temporary. I would love to help with whatever you guys need, just need a couple commands and will send files.
Oh it's a wopad rk2818 capacitive no trackball 2.1 model 7001
i can give any other info if needed. Hopefully we can get some kind of development going on this tab. It's a good little device, Rom is not so good though.
For reference, W9 ROM:

My tablet is based on the rockchip 2818 ref. design, the pure odm device as it were, model is the yifang m7.
The issue i stumbled upon is that the little ****er is still encrypted on the blocklevel device. (mtdblock4 for /system)

[Resolved] Yoga HD+ B8080 (Not QSB / OTA)
Managed to figure out. Finally Yoga is booting up again.
Sharing here hope can help someone else.
What I can find on internet is only QSB. Need to convert them into image files..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595269
However the perl file won't work straight, just change to
seek(INF, DATA_START, 0) or die "Could not seek in $IMAGE_FN: $!\n";
to
seek(INF, 0, 0) or die "Could not seek in $IMAGE_FN: $!\n";
So you will have the image file now use adb
adb push system.img /sdcard/
adb shell
dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/your/system/partition
If you cant access adb, use CWM recovery

Change Boot logo of Rooted Android

Hi all,
I have Rooted Android lollipop tablet with intel chipset. I want to change the Boot logo. There is no logo.bin OR logo file present in the /dev/ directory. I also tried to extract all the mmcblk0 partitions. But I got only the corrupted images. I also tried to extract all partitions considering each partition as param.lfs and extracted to see if any boot image I can find. But its of no use.
Could you please help me with this?

[Q] Installing System raw image with flashable .zip

I'm trying to make a flashable zip for TWRP to install a Lenovo Z6 Pro stock ROM. I create the .zip file with Boot, System and Vendor (I'd add the rest of the firmware later). Boot and Vendor are installed but system.img is not installed. I know that I could use .dat files but I'm specially interested on using the image files.
I took as template another ROM which uses .IMG files too with the function 'package_extract_file'. I just replaced the .IMG files making sure that the names are exactly the same, and also I'm sure that my system.img is raw. When I try to install the flashable zip from recovery it prompts the uiprint "Patching system unconditionally" but nothing is installed and skips directly to patch the vendor partitions which is successfully patched.
Any help or clue will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

[REQUEST] Build system.img

Hello,
I have an ASUS K01A tablet with a blank system partition and unusable recovery. I can flash img files to their respective partitions just fine (boot.img, droidboot.img) in fastboot, but 'system' in the stock firmware zip is a directory instead of a flashable image. Of course, this (and other reasons) means I can't just flash the stock firmware in fastboot, nor flash over the entire 'system' directory.
I need a system.img to recover my tablet from softbrick, but I can't for the life of me compile one. I've exhausted every method and tool I could find in both Windows and Ubuntu.
I beseech the community; if there is anyone reading this who could build such a file for me, I would be eternally grateful. I believe I only need the system.img to recover the tablet.
The stock firmware is at the ASUS website. Here is the download link: UL-K01A-WW-12.8.1.41-user.zip.
Thanks in advance!
Why not extract the system folder of the ZIP linked to, then pack it into a ZIP what you then convert to IMG using an online-convertor that does the job?

"Why not" indeed; that sounds like it would more than suffice. Can you please recommend one?
Anyone? I have been unable to find this "online-converter" despite days of searching; still at square one.
Only as example ( found via Google search !!! )

Thank you, but I've tried this one and all the others on Google, and none will handle the filesize (~650 MB). It must be purpose-made for Android .img files it seems, which I've been unable to find.

I built it finally using IMGBurn to create the raw img and Sparse Converter to convert it to sparse img fragments.
But now the tab has formatting error, and with -u option, flashing errors (all partitions and imgs now). Ah, well.
Thank you to everyone! Hopefully someone else reading this will have better luck than me.

Download the attached file from the link at the bottom of this post and unzip it somewhere on your PC. It is a temporary recovery launcher. We'll come back to it in a moment. Based on your original post I'm assuming you already have your stock firmware downloaded as well as ADB and Fastboot setup. From your stock firmware unpack the following files: fastboot.img, splashscreen.img, and boot.img and place them in your ADB/Fastboot folder. Copy the stock firmware to your sd card (in its original, unzipped form...the way it was when you first downloaded it). Put the tablet in fastboot mode. Run the following fastboot commands from a command prompt.
- fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img
- fastboot flash boot boot.img
- fastboot flash splashscreen splashscreen.img
Reboot back to fastboot mode. Go to wherever you unzipped the temp recovery that you downloaded earlier. Double click on launcher.bat. Type accept in the window, then type T2 and your device should boot into CWM recovery. Now choose install zip>install from se card>and choose the stock firmware.zip that you previously copied to your sd card then let it do its thing. Once its finished go back to the first page of the CWM recovery that you're in and select reboot system now>no>no. You should be golden now. Post back if you have any issues.
