Jelly Bean Keyboard Android 4.2 apk - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi all,
Check out the new JellyBean 4.2 keyboard, which is like Swype only better (IMHO). http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-android-4-2-keyboard-apk/
It allows you to swype to type, but as you are moving your finger the words it guesses show up right next to your finger. When it gets to the right word, you lift your finger, and it types the word. Very cool!
Be aware that you might have to google around to get the apk, as Google is trying to take down the leak. But it works great, and installs on your rooted phone just like any regular app.
for those who have forgotten:
Install the apk
Go to languages and input in settings and select the Android keyboard.
Go to any text box, pull down your notification bar, and select input method that way.
Enjoy!

Just installed this on my galaxy running cleanrom3.1D works great

If this version is what's running on the nexus4 they have allot of work to do imo

I got this yesterday from droid life. But it don't seem to have a personal library where you can save words. I've been using swype beta for a while now and that's the best part of it. I can type my emails and passwords in and it remembers it. Saves so much time. Its a deal breaker if this doesn't include a personal library. I do like the suggested word though.

This is already in the apps and themes section.

good,thank you for your information

Installed it yesterday and I'm loving it!

what am I missing? i installed it and it just seems like Sype (which I'm not a fan of)

Woah just saw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO9GsEniITw
it doesn't do the floating text on my GS3. Why is that?

I know I'm running beans custom and if you go to language and input in setting there is a personal dictionary you can select that I've been using. It stinks you can't add words straight from the keyboard but at least it's a temporary workaround.

Honestly I'd be shocked if the final version doesn't learn the words you use frequently automatically. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't let you add words manually though, Google seems to be going the apple route of less manual fiddling and more "sane defaults".
edit 1 :
Seems to be working fine on my S3 with CR3.1, hopefully we can get an update of the official release once it comes out.
edit: 2:
Scratch that "working fine" comment, I got a hot-reboot while typing which I am going to assume is because of the keyboard. Maybe you JB folks will have better luck.

Works great !!! Thank you
Android 4 Life

I downloaded the first odex Incubus JB release and deodexed with the Kitchen. I forgot how I cannot stand the stock keyboard...
Needless to say, this is a brilliant alternative.

I have some visual problem with this apk: it seems the app is showing articles and images larger than screen and not centered (sometime a portion of screen is black). While sliding for chenge news in landscape mode, I can see the rest of the content and the black portion is filled, but if I'm in portrait, there is no up-down scroll to let me see the bottom of the content.
I'm on a Samsung I9000 running last build of ICS by teamhacksung, but I don't think it's a problem (this is the only app that have such a problem).
Am I the only one with this problem?
I'm having the same problem: it seems the app is showing articles and images larger than screen and not centered. I'm using a nexus s 4.0.3.
All you have to do is change the font size. Mine was medium, when I changed to big in the settings the problem was solved.

Really?? Do you know how to use the market at all? How to search and download apps? Or did you just want someone to spoonfeed you?
Here comes the airplane, weeeooww(airplane noise), open up! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.gosms
That's probably going to be your best free solution. Has quick reply and a ton of theming. Another choice might be handcent, tho I don't remember being impressed with it on my Droid X.
Sorry if I sound like a jerk, I just see a TON of people not use the search option on here at all or even the market.

You may be unfamiliar with Android but usually there is an app in the Play Store that can do whatever you want whereas in iOS that may not always be the case. Need a new gallery app? Search the Play Store. Need a file manager? Search the Play Store. Need a calendar app? Search the Play Store. You should get my point now.

Handcent is the best hands down IMHO
I would agree with Handcent unless you use group messaging, then your going to want GoSMS. I wish SOMEONE would release a non bloated app with group messaging that does not suck
I guess I should have given more details to my question, yes thanks for the replies and no I dont need to be spoon fed lol I have used all of those sms apps but I was wondering if anyone knew of a a custom mms app like the stock one that had quick reply built in. I remember seeing something about one but dont remember. Thanks anyways guys.

CM10 is pretty good, I'd still be running it now but I was having issues with battery life. I'd lose about 15-17% or so overnight with my phone in deep sleep. I'm on AOKP now and stop far it's better on my batt with the majority of the same features, more even. It does have the sms mod too.
Paranoid Android has the same features too, as do the majority of AOSP roms. I personally like PA and Liquid Smooth, and on my phone PA is the more stable of the 2. I for some reason just didn't like CM10, even though that's what PA and Liquid are based off of..... anyway, the jist of it is you ought to just test em all out, cause what's stable for one person may be extremely unstable for another.

Turns or I was wrong, AOKP doesn't have the popup, but neither does this one. It did give me an idea to which seemed to work for me. I just extracted the mms.apk file from a CM10 nightly and installed it.
I'll Dropbox it in a minute since Tapatalk doesn't let you attach anything except pictures.
Use a root browser and find system/apps/mms.apk (or secmms.apk if you're on TW) and rename it with a .bak on the end. Put the new file in the same place and make sure it's got the she permissions. Reboot and you should be golden.

Wow thanks so much for the help this is indeed exactly what I was looking for!

I installed it but is keeps saying messaging has stopped will I keep the name Mms or change it to SecMms.apk which is what my original was named also what was the she permissions you were talking about thanks?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
You will re-name it to whatever was originally in that folder. I believe all AOSP ROMs it is called Mms.apk and Touchwiz is SecMms.apk.
Far as the permissions, which it sounds like what might be causing your problem, depending on the root browser you are using(I use the one in ROM Toolbox) the format of the permissions you will want it to have are either "rw-r--r--" or "read" for 'Owner', 'Group' and 'Others' then "write" for 'Owner' only and "execute" for none. Or the final format would be 0644
Those are the three different ways that permissions are displayed.
---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:50 PM ----------
I was just thinking, if the whole permissions thing is still confusing after my last post there, I might have thought of something that will do it for you fairly simply.
Replace the apk file as mentioned. Reboot. Then reboot again, into recovery tho. Then go to advanced and click on fix permissions.
A) Not sure 100% if this will work, B) the two reboots may be unnecessary, you may be able to replace and reboot directly into recovery and have it work.
Thanks man ill give it a shot.

What ROM are you trying this on? What file browser are you using? And what steps exactly are you taking that's giving you the errors?
I am using cleanrom 3.0 and esfile as my file manager. I first add. Bak to the original SecMms.apk. Apk and then add the file you gave me and renamed it to SecMms.apk and reboot, the permissions are the same as my original message app. Once the phone boots back up it will get to the loading conversations screen then it tells me that is has stopped working or something like that I am lost and thanks for the help.

[APP] Stock Android 4.2 Keyboard (with Gesture Swiping) Leaked

If you're on a phone with a UI overlay that has the stock keyboard disabled (eg, Samsung TouchWiz, HTC Sense, Sony), you can just download the apk below- no root required. To install, make sure you have "install from unknown sources" enabled in your phone settings, and after installation, go into your phone's keyboard settings and enable "Android keyboard." Then, you can switch to the new keyboard. This may also work on some "stock" Android custom ROMs - but it will not work on stock Android builds distributed by Google. For instructions for Nexus devices running stock software, see the next paragraph.
Mirror 1 (APK)
Mirror 2 (APK)
If the apk doesn't work, you're running a phone that is either A.) running stock Android (as in, AOSP), or B.) running software that has the stock Android keyboard as an option, you'll need to download this ZIP file, and flash it in recovery. That also means you're going to need root. as you'll be writing to /system/apps. Before you do, though, either back up the stock keyboard (if you don't know how, you probably shouldn't be doing this) or create a full image backup, just in case. Here's that ZIP file:
Mirror 1 (flashable ZIP)
Mirror 2 (flashable ZIP)
Note: this build is an older one, and is not representative of exactly how the keyboard will look when Android 4.2 is officially released. The word suggestion pop-ups, for example, are different from what we've seen on Nexus 4s running the release build of Android 4.2. All the functionality is there and works properly, though.

this is amazing.....seems to work better than swype, just first impression though....gonna put it thru its paces by typing up an extensive email later and hopefully get it goin good....only qualm i seem to have so far is that to add words to your dictionary for it, you have to turn off auto-correct then tap out the word then tap the word in the autocorrect list and then save it, more hassle than it should be lol
edit: is it saving words for anyone else? it says that its saving it in the dictionary, but the word never actually gets saved and vulgar words aren't even being asked to be saved either.......so i'm guessing this is the "clean" keyboard to stop us from cursing lolol

auto correct update?
Love the keyboard! Wish that the auto correct bar comes up when entering text in ALL fields except the usual like passwords and numbers. The app works perfectly within the OEM messaging app.
yikes! took out my Action Memo
I loved the keyboard and even endedup installing a mod to force auto correct. After a couple days of use I went for my Action memo and it crash on start every time. I started looking for reasons. Uninstalled the mod for auto correct and no change. Next to go is the keyboard. I followed the following steps but want to know how if this completely uninstalls the files:
1.Use root browser or root explorer to open System/App
2.Put .bak at the end of these files names or delete them -
LGEIME.apk , LGEIME_DICT_XT9_bin.apk , LGEIME_THEME_BLACK#2.apk , LGIme_Theme_HARLEY_DAVIDSON.apk
3.Go to System/Lib and do the same as before except with these 3 files -
libjni_lgeime_native.so , libjni_xt9input_v9.so , libMyScriptHWR.so
4. Reboot your phone
5. Open Settings/Controls/Language and input
6. Lastly, set Samsung Keyboard as your default.
Thanks! Would love to keep but love my action memo more.
