[Q] Intel XOLO x900 - Game crash - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I hope this is the right section to post abt Intel XOLO X900.
I need help regarding my phone. I bought this phone 3 days back. It was Android 2.3.
But I updated it to Android 4.0.4 (ICS) on the same day from internet from XOLO.in official website.
I bought this game TOTAL WAR BATTLES on market for $5. When I start the game, it shows "creative assembly" welcome screen and then game closses to homescreen. I have cleared cache, uninstalled & reinstalled game twice now.
Also, today I insatlled SimCity also, same thing happens.
Its not with every game, as I have installed 9 innings Baseball, Swingshot, Minecraft pocket edition, Hill Car racing they all work perfectly.
Kindly help me. :good:

The only thing I can think of is it might be a bug in the official ROM, have you sent an email to the official vendor of your ICS ROM?
Personally I would flash a custom ROM but if you don't want to do that see if there is a way to go back to GB for now.
Also, have you tried a hard reset? Try that first actually, it might fix it.

Im sorry, but what you mean by HARD RESET ? Clear app data !
Also, Is there any Custom ROM available for XOLO ?
Yes, I have emailed to original game developer as well XOLO developers. But no one is helping.

Not just the app data, but do a complete factory wipe of the device.
There doesn't seem to be an XDA forum for it, see if you can find anything here:

yeah that's pretty messed up that they won't respond after 2 days.
Try this:
1) install the game
2) go to the app options, and click "move to SD"
3) go back to app options, and click "move to phone"
try to open the game.
I am not sure if you will have those options. If not, let me know, we will see.
Also, if you wanted to root, here seems to be the guide:

No worries man, it's pretty messed up Intel (or whoever actually makes the Xolo phone) and the game devs aren't really doing much to try to help, we'll try to get you sorted out.

Ok, I rooted the phone. Swiped game from USB to PHONE and run game, and vice versa. Stil problem persists.
Now only thing I can do is reinstall game again 4rth time next month, as I dont have much 3G bandwidth nor I hv Wifi. Or from office tomorrow

That is so weird,
maybe you should go back to Gingerbread and see if the game runs on top of that?

I just received reply from Total war developers, they offered me a Refund and said they do not have fix for this at this moment. But Im not gona take refund, I hope something good happens .... :|
@orangekid No i cant go back to Gingerbread, as XOLO is reported to be game crashing phone on Android 2.3.

Wifi not working after root

Ok so I have successfully rooted my htc inspire 4g...I got the sound working somehow, and I do not really know how. I think I installed this rom, but I do not really know if I did or not. Well anyways I got the sound to work again on my phone after rooting, but the wifi is not working. It connects to the network (or so it seems), but then it does not work online or anything. I went to check my wifi client list on my computer, and it is showing up, but it is not working on the phone. PLEASE HELP!!!
Try a different Rom and see if it fixes it or reinstall the Rom and wipe everything.

I know it sounds very simple, but just try and rebooting the phone if you haven't already, also turn on WiFi and data then turn on airplane mode and then turn off airplane and shut off data...might work
If not I agree with ^^^^ just clear everything and flash a new ROM.

try re flashing rom. make sure you do a full wipe( cache, data, system) before reflashing. if that doesnt work try a different rom. they are not all created equal
Yeh,do a full wipe using clockworkmod (on recovery) and reflash the rom.

I apologize that this question isn't exactly the same thing. But it is related, sorta. I have rooted my phone and has been working great. have tried several roms. that's a lot of fun too, btw.. but, i wanted to download a game and after i downloaded it, said that i couldn't play it because the phone is rooted. Is there a way around that? Or, do i just need to forget about the game? Thanks for the help.

Try to fake unroot with OTA Rootkeeper. It's in the Google Play Store.

That's crap that a game developer would deny you access to a game because your rooted. It's none of their business what we do with our phones. I would uninstall and never look back because of principal, and voice my frustration in a review.

Please Help with Rom Synergy...

I would post in the Rom Synergy thread, but the Forum is not letting me.
I just rooted my EVO Shift 4G and installed the Rom, everything was looking good, but now I have an issue when I put the phone into sleep mode instead of it staying in sleep mode it shuts all the way off(Were I start to see the boot automation). It didn't do this before Rooting, but now it is.
Thanks for any help.

May be this is not a Bug, Please Explain what to do overcome these problems?
1. WiFi worked at first time install, after 2 days WiFi not detecting.

You get 50% battery after rebooting? What about before???

I re flashed stock ROM WiFi working fine also CM9 UNOFFICIAL ROM also working, BOSS.
I think you don't know about HardWare, a HardWare how many times u flash it does'nt matter but you have do it correclty and disciplined.
Ex: PC = SmartPhone -> So, How many time re install OS on PC it does not ruin HW or else no one will dare develop a custom ROM.
I think you go to Pre-School learn some ****
It may have been that your router was set on a specific channel and you just had to switch through the channel options on your phone to get the right one.
fyi

if u're so smart why did u ask people here to help u.
i think u should go to pre-school to learn some manners, maybe it's internet, but we still should be civilized.
And the people that answered to help, have thought about your problem, and answered honestly about what they thought is wrong with your device.
And for your knowledge that isn't so big after all. If you flash a rom on a smart phone/ install an os on a PC it deteriorates the hdd proportionally to how many times you write, the only downside is that it becomes slower in read/write data, it's not very hard so u can notice, probably after 100 times or even more u can actually tell a difference.

Why are you questioning the people trying to help you?
Look either give it a try or deal with a borked imei.
The reason they are suggesting that is because unless you tried to install a vibrant rom all of the non stock based roms back up your imei and when flashing back to stock it is restored.
Again why are you questioning people offering help?

You will have better luck trying the link I posted :/ It fixed my IMEI about 15 times and I am have sent the link to many others to fix their problems. The link you posted will do you no good for two reasons. First, it is a guide about how to backup your IMEI which you already lost. (can't backup what you don't have) Second, the guide is for the Samsung Galaxy S III. If you do have a SGSIII, then you are in the wrong fourm and my link will screw your device over. If you have a Samsung Galaxy S 4G, then it will flash you back to GB rooted w/ CWM. If you are still secptic about my advice, then don't take it. Hope you enjoy a phone with no service.
Why r u ppl so jumpy?
"Enjoy phone with no service"
"Why r u questioning ppl who are trying to help"
All i try to do is to fix my imei and on the way im trying to understand whats going on.
The link you gave me was for deleting trash from my phone to save battery life (i personally thought that, maybe, you just copy pasted the wrong link), my IQ is well above average, but i guess im missing a connection between batter life trash files on the phone and recovering IMEI.
please enlighten me.
Flashing stock did not help .. and i have always been using the original Tmobile roms... downlaoded from Sampro.pl
Never anything custom.
thank you for your help.

It was the correct link, and it works. What do you have to lose? Absolutely nothing. I will take all the blame if it doesn't work, but in my experience it does work. I have no idea why it works, it just does. I just want you to have a happy working phone. Sadly, I have not been on a "stock" ROM since I joined xda, so I have no idea how to fix your problem and keep you on stock. Out of curiosity, what Android version are you on now?

Well if your main point from that link is to go back to stock (you have mentioned to go part 3, which is just that) then it doesnt work..
Coz i flashed to froyo 2.2.1 and it did not help only thing that changed was that opposed to 00000000/05 i had 000000000/04 ...
I have also wiped the cache
Then i have flashed the GingerBread 2.3.6 kj6.
Nothing changes .. Tmobile doesnt accept phones with "0" IMEI.
im sure its possible to write it in .. just cant find it...
thanks.
Have you actually tried it yet? Anyways, I am sorry about your phone, and I haven't seen a way to write in your IMEI in all of my time on xda.

It's an honest answer. Why complicate things? Take care of what needs to be fixed first and everything that follows is easy.

Yep, that or find someone else that's got a computer with USB and internet connection.
If Lollipop requires an updated bootloader (I haven't checked on that) you're done. Cause you would need your flash the new bootloader. (with fastboot... So a computer required)
If it doesn't, just flash a custom Lollipop ROM that's close to stock.
If you can't find a factory firmware zip in the development section, then that's all you can do.
Aside from getting access to a computer as already suggested.

OP came in here asking for a zip - didn't even bother to look on the dev section.
we told him to fix his computer - he says he's got no money (but yet he's got a N5)
told him to find someone WITH a working computer - got ignored.
Sorry, no more spoonfeeding for you.
If you can get back to stock somehow on KitKat you may be able to OTA.
