On yet another visit to Australia I thought I hade cracked it ,with cdma being switched off at the end of January and all my friends having nextg phones on 850mhz I thought my o2 orbit or the mini s (both 850mhz) would work but no luck They did roam in the city but not in the remote parts
if I put my uk o2 sim in one of their nextg phones my number did work at the remote locations
So has any one got any ideas what I need to do to get a fully roaming phone

No data transfer in Brazil

I could not transfer data in Brazil with non of the Brazilian providers. From some countries (Germany, Spain,...) I could not be reached by phone. My home provider is Proximus (Belgium) who has a roaming agreement with most of the Brazilian providers. Who knows the explanation?

I personally tested my TP (I have Proximus also) in: Germany, Poland, The Netherlands, Denmark, France, Spain and Portugal. All worked fine, recieving and making calls had no issues. I even used 3G on those locations, no probs at all.
It does not surprise me that data connection did not work in Brazil.
If you browse the forums a bit, you will see that in North-America 3G is on a different frequency or band then in Europe. If I'm not mistaking: Its the same for Brazil. So basicly: no 3G in America using EU TP (yet).

Can an Italian Vodafone card be attached to a Dutch plan?

I'm going to be traveling through Europe this fall. I have an AT&T-locked iPhone 3g and a fully unlocked Google Ion. I'd like to buy SIM cards as I travel, so I have mobile web access.
I will be in these countries:
- Italy
- France
- The Netherlands
- Sweden
Vodafone serves both Italy and the Netherlands with affordable pay-as-you-go data plans. Suppose I buy a Vodafone SIM in Italy, load it with $10, sign up for a weekly data plan, and cancel as I leave Italy. Can I then load another $10 on that same card to sign up for the Dutch data plan when I'm in Holland?
So far, it seems that both TIM and Vodafone offer pay-as-you-go data in Italy. Vodafone also serves the Netherlands. Tre serves Sweden. Haven't seen a good one for France yet.

UK, FR, NL SIM help??

I've never done this before, but traveling to UK, FR, and NL in a month. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to going about getting a SIM. I will be using a Sprint TP2 for data only so good speeds would be a plus.
Been looking at Orange and Vodafone, but don't know how to go about getting the SIM. Any recommendations as to which SIM/Carrier is best for each country? Will be in London, Amsterdam and Paris. Thanks for any info.
Also do I need to unlock my Sprint TP2 for use in Europe? I think I remember it being unlocked from the factory, just wouldn't work on other US GSM networks.
Also do I need to do any radio flash to work in UK, FR, or NL?
