[Q] How to get in Fastboot mode - Asus Transformer TF700

So I'm on the lastest update of jellybean, I unlucked my bootloader recently and I'm now trying to root following a guide
Here is where I am stock at (I'm a noob btw)
- Get into fastboot mode by switching off your device and switching on in bootloader mode and then scrolling and selecting the fastboot option and then connecting your device to the PC.
So my question is: There are 4 icons in the bootloader. there is and RCK icon, an Android icon, a USB icon and a "wipe data" icon.
I'm pretty sure it's neither the android icon nor the "wipe data" icon. Which of RCK and USB icon is the fastboot mode?
Edit: Nevermind I found out its the USB Icon. Thanks anyway!

It is the USB option.

{SOLVED!} Can't enter fastboot mode after JB update

First off, my tf700 is rooted and unlocked. Now, after I flashed the US JB update through clockwork recovery, I lost recovery as expected. But what was unexpected was that i lost recovery completely. I installed TWRP through the goo app and now i have a working recovery. Here is the kicker, when i hold vol down and power I am brought the the screen that has several icons. They are RCK, the Android, USB icon(fastboot), and wipe data. I can only select the RCK option no matter how i try to select the other icons. both vol up and vol down select the highlighted icon.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Imo,your recovery was still there after updating to Jelly Bean, but it was different from ICS (Volume down + Power get you directly to those icons) so you ended up installing TWRP.However,if your OS still starts you could try installing this recovery and maybe will help get fastboot back, even if i find it odd that recovery is working but fastboot not.

Unless I'm reading the OP of the linked thread wrong, don't you need fastboot to flash that recovery in the first place? I'm also having issues getting fastboot to work.

You can also use ADB to install a recovery.
it's not that fastboot isn't working. it's just that I can't highlight it to enable it. both Vol up and Vol down select the highlighted item. which in my case is RCK. I can't select anything other then that. I'll try the ADB commands when I get home.
thanks for getting back to me
SOLVED!
Well, I managed to fix my fastboot issues. All i had to do was downgrade to the stock .30 software then update back to the 10.4.4.16 OTA. At that point, I was able to access the fastboot mode and was able to flash the latest clockwork without issue. TOTAL PITA but everything works fine. Now time to root.

Real pain having to start over again....
UPDATE: Before you go the long route...... I left it for a while and later tried again and figured out that you can only scroll through the icons using the LEFT (volume down) button. The right button is the SELECT button, so just hit the vol-down again till you are on the fastboot icon, them the vol-up button!

JB does not have the USB icon. You are already in a fastboot mode when you boot into the bootloader. If you look at the fine prints in the upper left corner, you will see that you are in the fastboot mode..
fastboot working?

Win8 is a little tricky. You may not have a fastboot driver for your device. You could search around to see if you can find a driver for win8.. I think that sbdags has a win8 driver somewhere on his original post. Naked driver may work but you have to test it out for yourself because I don't have win8 to test, sorry... I will let you know if I can find the driver for win8.. What do you want to do with your device? You may be abe to achieve what you need with adb too, just a thought...

[q] problem about flashmode

Hi guys, I'm having some troubles to put my device in flashmode. I'd like to root it and then install a custom recovery but when turn on my device (to go in recovery by using power button + volume down) in screen appears only 3 choices and not four, I mean there's not the USB icon so I cannot put it in flashmode..any advice or suggestion? I'm on 4.2 stock and I've already installed ADB drivers and adb flash tool by following it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094746 . Please reply as soon as possible
Fastboot mode is enabled already when you see the bootloader menu since 4.2 - no need to select anything.
I had the same question. When you see those 3 options it's in fastboot mode

If you see three icons on your bootloader menu, you have a newer bootloader version than ICS. You can ckeck the bootloader version when you are in it and it is in the upper left corner with a small tiny prints. You are also already in the the fastboot mode if you are in the bootloader menu. You can check your fastboot by typing "fastboot devices" to see if your PC can communicate with your device. Good luck...:fingers-crossed:
on the top left corner writes: "key driver not found.. booting os
android cardhu-user bootloader..............
starting fastboot USB download protocol"
now where i should write "fastboot device" ?

sbdags created a zip installer for twrp and you can check out the script here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2646279
This is a very nice tutorial for installing adb/fastboot and you can find out more information on this post:

Please read through these two posts before proceeding with installing your new twrp, good luck...:fingers-crossed:

Moto G xt1032 Issue

So, I've got an XT1032, It has no OS on it, has TWRP 2.8.7, and I'm trying to install CM 13(Failed to install, not the main issue right now) on it.
Now here's the issue: With TWRP 2.8.7, I am unable to navigate ( there is no text. I've read that it is some issue with the theme). And because I can't navigate, I can't mount the file system to drop a ROM on it that I can install. I can't get the MotoTool to see the device because there is no OS to turn USB debugging on, and I've been unable to get fastboot to see the device.
To sum it up:
No OS - Unable to turn on USB debugging
TWRP 2.8.7 - Version with the theme that causes no text to show up -- Unable to navigate
Unable to mount device due to above issue
Computer doesn't see device when in bootloader. No option for fastboot in bootloader
Bootloader DOES say "AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)" and "Transfer mode: USB Connected"
If anyone could advise me as to what I should do next, that would be great. I just want to get a working ROM on it, and I can work from there.
Just a daft thought. Get a hold of another device with TWRP installed to figure out which buttons to press and try installing an unthemed version of TWRP or even a ROM over OTG if that's working.

Oneplus 6 in Fastboot Loop

Hi,
i'm facing the problem that my phone only starts in "FastBoot Mode" at least i guess that's the mode.
OnePlus 6 with root.
It happened after i rebooted after installing an OTA Update and installing a Magisk Manager Update.
I used the method described here. The last few times it worked perfectly.
But now the only thing that happens when i try to boot the phone is a screen that says
FastBoot Mode
PRODUCT_NAME - sdm845
VARIANT - SDM UFS
BOOTLOADER VERSION -
BASEBAND VERSION -
SERIAL NUMBER - d8a34971
SECURE BOOT - yes
DEVICE STATE - unlocked
with the volume button i can select "START, Restart bootloader, Recovery Mode and Power off"
but nothing happens when i select e.g. Recovery Mode, or simply START.
The phone shows the boot logo for a second, then I'm back at the screen with "FastBoot Mode"
I installed the USB-drivers for the device and can find it with my PC when i type "fastboot devices" in the command prompt.
But that's pretty much all. I don't know how to continue.
I would be very glad if i could keep my data, is there a way to save my phone and if not how do i install the normal OS again?
I really hope someone can help me here.
Edit:
When I type "adb devices" it says "List of devices attached" but there is no entry.
USB-Debugging is on, since the Root-process i didn't touch the developer options
So should be the USB mode for file transfer (MTP)
I'm not sure if i checked the "always allow from this computer" setting
So following this guide the only thing i can't do is checking the prompt for USB-debugging since i can't boot the OS.
Is there anoter way to get a adb connection?
[ROM][STOCK][FASTBOOT][OP6] Stock Fastboot ROMs for OnePlus 6
Things are changing with the advent of project treble and seamless updates. OnePlus will no longer release ROMs flashable via stock recovery (with twrp is possible but not recommended). The updates will be done on the slot not used for example...

For everyone that can't connect to the device via ADB but fastboot, this does the trick.
Thank you guys!
