Possible Brick? - Asus Transformer TF700

While in recovery mode via TWRP, I accidentally erased my internal storage, including my CleamROM zip file. I put the zip file for CleanROM on an microSD card but TWRP won't allow me to chose an external storage for some reason. The only thing I can do as of right now is boot into TWRP. I don't understand why it won't mount my microSD card with the CleanROM zip on it. I hope I didn't completely f myself.
Never mind. I just reformatted the card. Strange that it was already formatted as FAT32 but began to work after I reformatted it to FAT32 (again). LEARNING IS FUN *does a Family Guy jump into the air*.

In cases like this, you should also be able to push a file the the main storage (/sdcard) using ADB or fastboot. Just for your information, not out of arrogance. There are more options than just the external memory cards.

[Q] Backup/restore/wipe questions

Hey, this is my first tablet. The only other android device I own is a Nexus One (and I've done a LOT of stuff with it, so please don't assume I'm a complete noob!)
I realize that my transformer has 16GB of internal storage... is there a way I can backup my data so a partition or something so when I do a factory reset I don't lose all my /sdcard data? Similar to how I do stuff on my nexus one? My buddy with the nexus s doesn't have to pop in an SD card or anything (not that he even can) and he can still flash roms and his user data is still safe. How are people doing this on the transformer?
As of right now CWM recovry only work with an external micro sd card.

The problem with the TF is that /data and /sdcard (internal) are part of the same partition, so I suppose if you wipe /data, you will be wiping also /sdcard. Thats the maily reason of using an external SD card.
Aside from that, Root Toolkit can save a complete image of your tablet via APX into your PC (if you don't want to use CWM).

CWM should behave equal since you're linking your external sd card to /sdcard. If CWM uses /Removable/MicroSD to mount the external sd card, you won't notice any difference.

Any way to make the sd card and internal storage have proper labeling?

I've recently rooted and flashed Team EOS nightlies to my Xoom and noticed that my internal storage is /sdcard and my actual sd card is /external1. This is kind of annoying and I'd like to set it back to how it used to be. Downloads through GooManager will be sent to /sdcard, my internal storage, and I will have wasted time booting into recovery trying to flash something as it is not on my card...
In Root Explorer, look in your media folderon the root directory-you should see internal, sdcard and usb folders. You also may see your sdcard listed as external1 elsewhere...there are many roads to Rome...just sayin'.

[Q] Data2SD unable to install Cromi

I have formatted my micro sd card (samsung class 10 64GB) in Gparted with 1 FAT32 partition of 8GB, and the rest is EXT4.
Furthermore I have the following files on my FAT32 partition:
data2sd-jb42-that0_modByHundsbuah.zip
hundsbuah_v3.2.0-OC_JB4.2.1.zip
CROMi-Xenogenesis ODEX 4.7.0_Signed.zip
mount-data2sd.zip
First off, my TWRP 2.5.0.0 gets stuck on the splash screen with the sd card inserted, so I have to take it in and out again. Then, I flash the mount-data2sd.zip, and then I want to do a wipe. However, after this is done, the files on the FAT32 partition are no longer visible in TWRP and I'm unable to install anything more. What am I doing wrong in the process of installing Cromi on my SD card?

It looks like the TWRP can not read your External SD card. You probably need to format your External SD again. There are a few things you need to pay attention.
1. Your first partition is a fat32 and set it as a primary partition.
2. Your second partition is ext4 and set it as a primary partition also.
After a reformat, you can try to use TWRP again and hope that it can read your SD. Good luck.
I've done it twice, but I guess third time's the charm. Going to try with different software and see what happens
The same thing happened when I Tried it again.
Booting into TWRP with SD card inserted will cause the splash to be shown until the card is taken out
So I take the card out, and I'm ready to flash files from the fat32 part of my card. I flash the mount-data2sd file, then press back. Now, at this point the Cromi file itself didn't appear on the card so I press home. Trying to access the memory card again, no files show up this time...
I fail to see why, but what am I doing wrong?

Do you have another SD to try out? It could be something wrong with the one that you are using. It looks like you still can access to your external SD once when you first insert it in. These are the options you can try them out. First, when you first insert your SD, you need to copy all the files that you have from the external SD to your internal SD. From there, you can install from your internal SD. Second, when you first insert you SD, you need to install the cromi x first. When you have it up and running, you can connect your device to your computer and transfer all the file that you need to install data2SD. Good luck.. :fingers-crossed:

TWRP partitioning external SD doesn't work (Unable to locate device to partition)

Hi,
since the internal storage of my 8GB Moto G3 is pretty small, I wanted to move apps to my external SD, but there is only a hand full of apps I can move.
So now I wanted to partition the external SD I have, but when I want to start the partitioning, it says "E: Unable to locate device to partition".
When I google for exactly this error message, I can't find any solution. I formatted the SD via the phone, I also formatted it via PC to FAT32 and exFAT and I formatted it via TWRP to exFAT and also to EXT3 and EXT4, none of these methods worked.
I also tried it with the MicroSD mounted and unmounted, made no difference.
Also can I make the external SD to the main storage for the phone, so all apps put their files on the SD card like Whatsapp, without symlinking every folder manually?
All apps won't move to the SD. I'm guessing that if the developer specifies internal, that's all you get. On the first soak you could force apps to external which I tried with mixed results. A few would work, some wouldn't. Even on the latest, some app's widgets won't work if the app is on external.

Having the same issue here, I have a brand new Santin 128gb and I want to partition it to my HTC One M9, I formatted it and then wanted to immediately partition it and then I am receiving the same error and cannot find anything else online.
Same problem here I've got a Lexar 32 GB Micro SD.
Same problem here, with twrp 2.8.2.0

TWRP won't read External SD Card or /mnt

I've been rooted for a while without any issues, until recently I'm not sure what happened but suddenly TWRP won't show the /mnt folder or be able to access anything on my SD Card, I've tried mounting and selecting the SD Card in TWRP settings but it displays 0MB and won't select it. All I see is my Internal Storage files, which means I can't flash anything easily. I don't know when it happened but it was working about a week ago. I formatted my SD Card as ext4 in TWRP itself and also tried NTFS on Windows.
NOTE: I can view the SD Card in Solid Explorer and on my computer, TWRP is the only one that can't mount/read any SD Card files or even recognize it.
Is there any way I can work around this without formatting the SD Card?
