WORKING EXCELLENT with G2X Gingerbread leak update.zip, you will be in love !!!! NO MORE BAGS at all !!!
I was very surprised ! When I saw that LG G2x working EXCELLENT with density "190" with out ANY COSMETIC problem !!!!
Example: My nexus S of cause working too with "190 Density" BUT I got a lot of problem ! BECAUSE "ROM" not intended" to work with higher resolution !!!!!!!... EXAMPLE I got bad LOCK SCREEN, some widgets sucks...etc.
but I remembered first review about LG Optimus 2x, It said that the phone has higher resolution, plus I saw the photo.)
So lets START !
U need Root Explorer !
1) open root explorer.
2) go to system
3) open "Build.prop" (long press on it>open in text Editor)
4) almost at the bottom u will SEE this: ro.sf.lcd_density=240
5) Change 240 on 190
6) Close and save.
7) Fix permissions. (better do it in "rom manager")
8) Restart your phone.
(If you will find any bag, u can easy return everything back, I found only 1 ! On Latitude Icons funny lol!.....)
Unfortunately you can not see all the "buzz" from Screen shots:

I FIX check the tread
Looks weird. What are the advantages? Just that you can see more entries in a scrollable list like Gmail, settings, etc? Does the keyboard get smaller? Smaller keyboard is a no-go for me. I have big fingers.

Yup. Just makes everything smaller so you can view more on the screen at one time than you can by default.
Thanks for thread was curious how to do this outside of using the root tools app. Ended up with a density of 190, its all compact and tiny but the clock text is still visible.
Oooh thanks too do u using bloodEagle rom?

Please make it 190 !
Be aware some apps will no longer render full screen after changing this setting, you'll have to decide what you're willing to deal with if it happens or ask the dev of the app to do whatever it is with their app so it works with other random density.

hhhhhhhh
no, you need to uncheck the compatibilty check box, and then reboot. that will make 95% of apps render correctly on the lower DPI.

i wonder if this could solve the issue im having with the phone connected using hdmi to my tv where i only see half of my notification bar!

Hi everyone,
I am using AOKP ROM build 40 and I want to change page transitions or app opening transitions....
Please can anyone help me with this....I had seen some really cool transition animations like the dialog box popping from the bottom in one of my friends SG ACE ROM....
Thanks

I just use GO Launcher as my default launcher and use the animations/transitions from there. So many to choose from and for different scenarios too.
Personally, I set all my "effects" to Random. That way every time I switch home screens or enter the app drawer, it's different!

I am asking for animations which are for built in things...like the dialog box for everything or any app opening....I figured out that it can be done by editing anim folder in Res folder of framework.apk....but still I need someone to give me some some animations which are in XML format so that I can edit the apk....

Framework Tool from market will give you that and more.

To my best knowledge there is no app in the market that can change the LCD density for a particular app only,i know it's possible in the paranoid rom, but what about non cm9 users, is there a way around,i particularly like lower density for messaging n whatsapp

it requires larger edits in several framework files so you're out of luck there. Only way to get it is Paranoid.
I followed the instructions in the threads I found (yes I looked it up), it says to change DPI to 120 following the instructions on in Rom settings>general UI>LCD density. I changes and giving me the tablet mode, but it doesnt fit the screen. There are large spaces I cant use on my homescreen and my widgets are super small. Is there any way to have tablet mode, but keep my full homescreen? Please be helpful and not mean, 1 Single act of kindness.
what launcher are you using? try go launcher and expand the grid size...

That solved the space problem Thanks! But my app icons and widgets are still tiny, any help for this?
in the same launcher, theres an option where you can make bigger icons (preferences -> visual settings -> icons) but let me tell you that if you change the LCD density everything else will looks smaller so I recommend you to change back to 240 dpi. ( sorry for my English )
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
I thought for tablet mode dpi is suppose to be 128 not 120. 120 might be too small.

I actually got sick of tablet mode pretty quicky, so I went up to 160 dpi which is perfect in every way. But I just switched to Jellytime R1 by randomblame which doesnt have the rom controls, so I used toolbox to change my dpi...but I dont know where to get the correct market. This would be my last question for this thread, I'm pretty satisfied where I am atm, except for the playstore issue
Is it possible to fix camera recording on AOKP 8,5 or 8,6 rom ?
Is there anything I can do to let me get the phablet ui . I know paranoid android doesn't have hybrid settings yet and pacman isnt officially released so is there a way ?

The phablet ui no longer exists. Google removed it.
There were 2 things before:
Tablet/Phablet layout of SystemUI - This changed how status bar, notification drawer and navigation buttons were laid out. Google dropped the native implementation (which PA used) for kitkat. Any future implementation of this will need to be completely custom. I haven't seen that anyone has managed this yet
Tablet layout of apps - this is different. App developers may want their app to appear differently on a tablet than on a phone so they develop the app to change at a certain dpi (generally tablets have lower dpi). This still exists. It can be triggered by dropping the dpi to something that will make your eyes bleed or by using xposed+app settings module, which allows per app control of the layout using the "screen (dp)" option
Hope this helps

I think google wanted a unified experience across device types. It kind of makes sense to me. If you can use an android phone, you can use an android tablet. When I first tried a Honeycomb tablet I didn't know wtf was going on
Downgrade to jellybean.
