Why are you so obsessed with pirating stuff? You know it's against the rules, already got in trouble, so you bring up another app that is probably either A, full of malware and crap to steal and your phones info, or B, just links to all kinds of hacked and pirated apps, which may be full of malware.

i was wondering if ----(mod edit) was considered piracy nothing else because i want more apps
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app

as well as no ----(mod edit) is free of such things because my phone is protected and will tell me if my info is being taken or if there is a virus

Then install free apps and deal with the ad's, do that thing called get a job and pay money to dev's who spend their hard time making apps. Or, learn C, learn Java, learn android and make all your own apps you want for free.

Cheap,cheap,cheap

That's just a silly question, ---- (mod edit). What do you think that means? When ever I hear that in my head, I think of stolen goods.
Now, these stolen goods are modified to work for free without the Google Play/Market verification. Hmm Modified, lets think that through. When it is modified the person who is modifying the APK file can freely add what he desires, now what can a person add that would affect you and your phone? First of it can steal information such as phone numbers, email address', your IMEI which is very important, maybe your Google account, and maybe throw in some files that's important such as photos. Second of all once he is done robbing you blindly he can simply execute a factory reset. Now heed OUR warning.

thank u for answering my question. i will "heed your warning"

ANY FORM of theft is not allowed here. I already warned you. You will be watched closely now, and your ip address will be blocked if you continue to break our rules. If you want more apps, pay for them, or use some of the thousands of free apps. Wanting more apps is not an excuse to steal, of someone steals something, it's because they wanted it.... duh

Is this ethical to do?

I want to do something to develop an app for my own use and to not sell on the market or profit from at all. There is an app currently on the market that does a little what i want my app to do but not all. So my question is before i do anything, would it be ethical for me to reverse engineer the app, using some of the apps code then taylor the code and add code for what i want it to do?

You answered your own question. If you use it for yourself, there's no problem. There's not a crime until there's a victim.
Don't see an ethical issue but what do the developers think? Maybe they wouldn't mind sharing part of their code anyway.

Inception question!?

Hey everyone, I just got this phone yesterday in a trade on ksl. And we decided to keep are sd cards. Just tell me what you want in return.

The Inception files are gigantic, and I'm not sure if it violates forum rules to do that...
Why would sending a stock file that comes on the sdcard be a violation?
Do you know where I could fine out?
And I know there huge thats what drop box is for.

bkoon helps out a lot on these forums; you may want to take a a nicer tone when asking for help.
if i were you, i would just ask the person you traded with. it may be easier. or you can put other movies on there and remove the inception link. i have the green hornet
you can always call up tmobile or take it to the store.

This would break rule #9 on the forum rules:
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things that will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably don't want to do it here either. This does not mean we agree with everything the software piracy lobby try to impose on us, it simply means you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users, and those that write great code.
Nevermind guys. Found this in a different thread!!

Just do what everyone else does and get it via a torrent site. The file would be much smaller anyways.

lol, was going to suggest that, buy thought that would be against the rules.

I dont think downloading a torrent is against forum rules.
Ill check and see if suggesting it is

I thought that advertising warez sites / illegal copies of software was contrary to the usage rules on this board?
Mods, please confirm or remove - last thing we need is this sort of thing going on. If people really want to find pirated software they can and will do so, but this guy signed up just to post the same message twice.
GetJar is a legitimate site, don't worry

1) There's a rule you're breaking by mentioning this on xda.
2) There's no benefit for the xda community that you want to circumvent DRM protection.

1) No problem, my response is a lot nicer than how the mods will respond to this inquiry.
2) There are a few games (really game developers) that have started instituting mandatory Internet connection in order to actually play their games. EA Sports, Gameloft, and I'm sure a few others do this to cut down on piracy. It verifies the license online then let's you play.

1.Thanx for being so nice
2.Well i read on this forum that this game works fine on other phones and tablets and noone mentioned this license check issue so that is why i asked
Yeah the forum mods are very very strict on this sort of thing. I got a warning once for simply mentioning "alternative" ways to download something. So I don't think you'll get much help here.
And the other guy is right, a lot of game makers, and developers in general, are requiring their apps to check and make sure the app is genuine or whatever, they want to make sure you paid for it.

Black market apps.

I caught nephew downloading apps from aptoide. My question is aside from the risk of malicious code and malware, what other risks are there to downloading paid apps free?
I would assume there are legal repercussions? I tried to explain that the people who write these apps deserve to be compensated for their time and efforts. I even offered to pay for them for him.
I don't want tosee the boy in trouble for it. He is only 13 and loves to play with computers, plans to go to Georgia tech for computer engineering. Would hate to see that plan crushed for download apps without paying.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda app-developers app
If he plans to go to college for computer engineering, how would he feel if people were stealing his work and he didn't get paid for it? That's what he's doing.
I know and understand this. What are the legal ramifications?
