In the area of kernel development the best options at present I think at are-
1.the device from Napstar - I asked stratosk but he said he was busy..so if anyone knows a kernel dev, come forward.
2.the UART setup by Hetalk,Adi_pat.

Unfortunately the threads "discussing" this issue have rapidly devolved into free-for-all attack zones, and yes, we are going to have to close them down when they reach that point.
We understand it isn't everyone doing it, but it only takes one drive-by comment to trigger it and then there are nasty replies, and hateful replies to the nasty replies.
I am deeply unhappy about the phone getting lost and I don't even own this device. I tried very hard to bring some comity to this forum since members here were very unhappy when I got here about the kernel dev issues. What was happening at that point was that everyone was yelling past each other and no one was listening. Finally after several discussion threads everything seemed to be moving in the right direction, and then this happens. Honestly, if I had the money, I would buy another phone and give it to you guys just to get everything back to the way it was, which wasn't great, but was at least tranquil.
Now I am going to close this thread as well. If you have any issues with wardfan220 or myself, please feel free to post on this thread: Moderators to assist or you can PM us. We won't bite and we won't infract you simply for having a different opinion if it is expressed civilly and politely.
As far as the phone, I am waiting for the next word from hillbeast before doing anything further. I am still hopeful he can find it. I haven't read that he is giving up yet.

What is this all about? Why is he banned? Sorry for stupid questions, but it's really annoying to not know.
your probably not going to get those answers in the development forum.

He is a known developer. Why wouldn't I get answer? Are you suggesting that I should open another useless thread on Q&A forum? (<-- I'm not serious with that question.)
Too bad somebody banned him, this ROM is really amazing, lightning fast and no other sens/senseless ROM can compare to this one, and I tried them all. Well done, I highly recommend it.

That is because it has nothing to do with sense at all. But yeah I think the mods did not wanted his work to be posted on XDA but they never gave answer why.
People don't just get banned from XDA-developers for no reason! Maybe he didnt comply with the GPL or ripped off peoples roms and claimed them to be his own work, like theming them then releasing as "his own work".The way you are saying it is like XDA has done something EVIL and WRONG which i doubt very much! I may be nit-picking here but title says "fully functional" And the OP from the other forum says otherwise

Look, from now on anybody who posts a MIUI Rom in the Sensation Forums is going to get a 5 point infraction, thats halfway to a Ban.
I have already closed 2 threads like this, and do not expect to have to do this again.

[Q] Sony Neo L - MT25i - No separate forum???

Hi, I thought of creating this thread because it seems that there is no separate forum for Sony Neo L (MT25i) device on XDA!! It's been over 3 months since the phone was launched, but this device does not have a separate forum!! I would like to ask why this is? Especially from the XDA team. .... Phones like Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC models and other devices get their own forums in a snap after their launch, but not this phone! It would be great if a separate forum could be launched for Sony Neo L (with rooting instructions, custom roms and all)....... Sorry if you think I unnecessarily created this thread moderator, but I had to....
Hey,
I have said this before and I will say it again.
There is a specialised thread for forum requests.
But seeing as you asked properly and put some effort in, I will try not to hemorrhage.
JUST KIDDING.
Try Here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660354
Also, I am seeing a real increase in the small increments of phones Sony is pumping out.
It's becoming concerning.
It could be a problem for XDA when they have to add a new forum every day.
But it could be more of a problem for Sony as they will end up in deep loss.
Not that it's your problem. Just sayin.
Please Hit Thanks if you found this useful.
i'm 100% agree with creating neo l forum, cause we already had custom rom, kernel and cwm(u can found that on neo forum). but i think xda don't give a damn about mid-end or low end device, cause they only give a forum for flagship device:laugh:
thats only my personal opinion, no offence eace

Not true.
The xperia x8 was a mid-end device and it has a forum. I think it is all about popularity. XDA knows phones like the s3 will be popular and create a forum without any requests.
Low-end and mid-end devices will get their forums if a lot of peopl request it.

n00bs in development thread?

Did the rules change for posting in the dev forums? There's been numerous instances of people with under 10 posts posting in the Dev forums here...
I always thought you had to have minimum 10 post count before posting in Dev sections

the particular user I had screen captured had only been a member for a couple months (since May or June, I think). I joined early July of last year, but didnt become active until September when I bought my blaze, and I wasnt allowed to post in the Dev section here.
I dont really care either way, when I was new I thought it was a stupid rule, and even now I think it is, I was just curious if the rules had been changed. Which leads me to my next question: IF the rules did change, shouldn't we, the users, be notified of the change in rules? I've never received an email about an update in Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, which means XDA either never alters that in the past 1 year + I've been a member, or they dont notify their users.
There's probably something missing from all this that I dont get, like you said Blackwolf10 about member duration, but still. It makes me think

Ok update time people all get a bit excited, granted. However, as I'm sure you are aware, google have a very specific update procedure with their phones. They go region by region, country by country. They release to 5% then 20%, then 100%.. (or some similar proportions). So, it is relevant for people to know when someone from a particular country gets the update, to help know when they can expect their updated.
Granted, it would be good if the titles were more specific, but this is not just a 'oooo look at me omg' thread. THey posted a screenshot of their update details and advised they are in Canada.
If you see a thread you don't think has merit then don't open it, read it and comment on it.. Seriously, the irony here is incredible.
I'm absolutely with you on the pointless thread front, but just because one thread 'in the general section!' doesn't meet your standards for interest, doesn't mean someone else won't find it of use, or interest.
If you regularly go into newsagents and tear up tabloid newspapers and Heat magazine too, then at least you are consistent and I would understand.
thanks

My Last Post

You all here are so fast to jump on me and say that I am BAITING. While this is not true at all i do appreciate your feedback. I was simply going to DEV my own ROM and needed a coupole of phones to test on and dont have the funds to purchase $700 dollar phones... Devs ask for support every day in the ROMS section. So why is it so far off base for me to ask for a donation?
And to answer you people about my questions that I have posted. Yes I have had trouble rooting this phone....as did many other people.... But guess what.... i figured it out... on my own.... without help...
As for me not being a DEV....I used to run the site mydroidworld.com that I dev my own roms for the Nexus, Droid Pro, and the original droid one. So thanks for the assumptions....
I have been a member here for about 5 years now and have never seen people be so rude in a thread. I am truly disappointed in this community right now. And as such I will not be participating in it anymore. I have always loved XDA for the great support but it clearly shows here that only certain devs can request a donation...See below
Code:
IF YOU LIKE MINE & TIGERSTOWN's WORK BUY US A BEER!!!

And many many more ask for donations... Why are they not violating the sites rules?
Judging from your previous posts I call bs and ive been here since 2010 to but that dosnt make me a dev now does it and usually when other devs ask for donations they have roms already out
also if you have been here since 2010 why do you only have 76 posts and have only been thanked 4 times...

Thank you for your feedback... Your OPINION is much appreciated.
The reason being i dont have alot of posts is because I generally dont have much to say... and also while my forum was up and running i used that mainly. The forum I ran is no longer up as I just didnt have time to keep up with it. It was online for 5 yeears and had 369,163 register users and I had over 20k posts on that site.. But thanks for your feedback... I can see it was well lthought out.
Thread Closed.
I'm going to put an end to this thing here but I will be speaking to you all as a Developer.
There is a difference between providing the community with free works and tagging on "Hey if you like, click thanks or buy me a beer " and requesting donations to buy phones for future product. If there was a problem with receiving donations, we wouldn't incorporate a button to do so. The problem comes in when members ask for donations and make known their intentions to (maybe) provide future product in the end. That is considered a "future purchase" be it services or software and is against our rules.
(As a Moderator)
I'm sorry you feel the need to jump ship and I wish you well in your future endeavours but we don't allow this on XDA. Please do not create another thread about this subject or you will be forcing my hand to take alternative measures.
