updated to .18 after it came out, and 3 days later Google search stopped working completely. Anyone else?

Since JB all Google Search does is make me get Google Now, which I do not want to. Can't even search on the device itself anymore, just goes straight to Google Now....
That is how GNow works - but once GNow runs it searches local and live - I use it on my phone to search for contacts and apps regularly.
However, on my Infinity, it FCs every time I try to use it.

Hey guys..I never had any problem with installing apps previously. Now i get "Error processing purchase" (even on free apps) every time. I have to keep going to settings/apps/playstore and uninstall updates to get it to work. its extremely annoying. Im running the latest hydro. Any ideas how i can fix this?.
I had this problem too. What worked for me was: I went into settings and under accounts, removed my Google account. Then signed back in (same account) and rebooted. Hope that works for ya.

Still not working. I can't uninstall updates every time I want to browse the store. Do you think this is a problem with the rom or what? Is there a way to block the "updates" from the market app itself that I have to keep removing? Could it have to do with my titanium restore?

I had the same issue, might be rom related im not sure because i created another Google account witch downloaded apps just fine, but when i tried going back to my original Google account it wouldn't let me download some apps it gave me this error. I toyed around with; it downloaded different roms and so on, but then came back to the ROM i was in and the issue had been fixed.
by any chance where you running seanz Hydro-Ponic? try downloading hes latest update.

In case you haven't heard, there are new versions of the Google Play Store and Gmail available (unofficially):
- GMail (http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...ed-gmail-4-2-apk-with-pinch-to-zoom-and-more/)
- New features include pinch-to-zoom (finally!) and the ability to "swipe" emails from the conversation list to delete or archive them.
- Google Play (http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...bility-to-remove-apps-from-the-all-apps-list/)
- New features include the ability to remove apps from your "All" apps list! This was *really* needed!
I have installed both apps on my TF700 and I can confirm that they seem to work fine - no issues to report yet.
EDIT: Also, if you use an external mouse, the scroll wheel actually works properly in Gmail now! That had been driving me *crazy* for a LONG time!

Great find, the ability to delete apps from the "all" list is certainly welcome.
Does anyone know how to sort the lists?

Just to clarify this as i am not 100% sure about it...should these two apps be auto-updated (when they are) or should they be pushed by Asus as an OTA or something like that?
I have installed the Play Store on my phone and works OK, but if it is going to be auto-updated I don't see a reason why not to wait (personally of course).
Thx
Yes, they will eventually be auto-updated. This is just for us impatient types!

Have they added the ability to disable "conversation" mode in Gmail? That's my biggest beef with this.
Even more evidence of the next Nexus and OS iteration being released this month - mass stock app updating (beyond just bugfixes or solving FCs). I would assume that the apps will auto-update whenever the LG Nexus comes out.
Just a quick rant/annoyance.
My nexus s just got an "update" for the calender app (which Google has made available in the play store now for non-nexus devices).
So I thought I'll install it and "update it" on my infinity as well.
But instead of updating the calender app, I relies that it installed like new app.
It seems Asus has "replaced" the calendar app, even though it looks the same as original Google app (only difference I see is that the widget has a different color and icon)
I'm using the new calender app from google and now disabled the one that came with the infinity, as the Google one will probably get updates (and I'm a little ocd about using the original app)
Just add the bloatware (which I have disabled each one, except Polaris)
I know this a small thing, and no one will notice it (I'm prob the only that did) but it just seems weird that Asus would do this, I don't see the point (now I have 2 calaneder apps that are pretty much the same)

I'm not sure I see the "problem"... If you want to use the Play Store Google Calendar app, just disable the version provided by Asus. I've done exactly that and and it seems to work fine...

I disabled the ASUS-TW version of calendar last night when I realised I had 2 iterations on my tablet, it started causing problems with my gmail account, couldn't access Play Store, saying that I needed to verify my Gmail Account. I defrosted it and back to normal. I guess as a built-in ap some people may see problems if it's disabled.
It's not Asus, the same thing happens when I install the calendar on my Galaxy Nexus...
I am having problems with the latest Google Search App updates since Dec 5th (or so). The last version that I have working is 2.1.12.516912. I was hoping there would be another update to fix the issues but the update today, 2.2.10.546669, is the same. I have a Wingray Xoom running the last 4.1.2 EOS Nightly (155). When I open the Google Search App, as soon as it loads to the page where cards show, the app crashes to the home screen. It does not force close, it just disappears. The app is working fine on my Galaxy Nexus.
Am I alone? Any suggestions? Thanks...
Edit: I think I found the best answer for a workaround in the EOS 4 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35329721&postcount=369
Its because officially hot word does not support non neon devices, before it just worked, but now with the latest few versions it does not work.
Doing as I posted is currently the only work-a-round
Hello all,
I bought a prepaid credit card just so that I could get overskreen from the play store. I tried searching for it in the play store and it did not come up, so i googled it and it showed up, however, much to my demise, i was unable to purchase the app. I got an error "the item you have attempted to purchase could not be found". In the app description the developer stated that jelly bean support is a work in pogress, has anyone else had issues with downloading overskreen, it appears that some xda members were able to install it. I have never gotten this error before, is this a common error or have i disabled one too many apps lol. If anyone has found a way to get overskreen could you point me to where you found it, this app is pretty essential for multitassking and would allow all users of this tablet to be much more productive. I would love to be able to open a pdf and write notes in google drive via overskreen, now that would be bad ass.
Hope my fellows are having a dope holiday season
The browser?
"ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T
This item is not compatible with your device."
So it won't show up in the play store on the tablet, and buying it can only be done for a device it supports.

Other members have downloaded it, there is a thread on floating apps and apparently it was installable (not sure if they got it thru the play store), I am thinking it might not be available for anyone on jelly bean, tf700 owners who have the app posted about it before the jelly bean update, I have emailed the developer to see what they have to say, thx for checking it out tho.

It also lists as incompatible for my SGS3, so I suspect they just deleted all JB devices from the list. I've yet to update that to JB, so it's not because it sees the OS version.
Those that are still able to install it do so by sideloading. (download to another device and copy the .apk to the incompatible device).
The author of Overskreen is having issues w/Jelly Bean devices, which is why it's not available on the Play Store for Jelly Bean devices.
However, there is a free alternative called "Floating Browser Flux" in the Play Store that is compatible with Jelly Bean. In my opinion, it's not quite as good as Overskreen, but it does work pretty well...

Cool I was thinking of doing that but I do not have any other android devices, looks like i am going to have to commandeer my sisters phone lol
I have tried floating browser flux and it worked alright, however, typing was really annoying and it wouldnt play youtube videos if I was using another app at the same time.
the overskreen browser works great on my infinity you just have to sideload it just google it and download the apk
I was gonna get the same app I tried it with my ics tab and it worked great, I'll try to side load it here too and see if it works just the same.

Has anyone gotten this app to work on a JB update or JB ROM?
