My TF700 shut down automatically - Asus Transformer TF700

Hi,
I just got my Infinity for a few days but there is an annoying problem.
Sometimes it shut it self down automatically and doesn't wake up by pressing neither holding the power button. The reset hole was my only way to get it start up again.
My pad is running on the latest update from ASUS, which is 10.4.4.18 and everything is stock. I haven't unlocked the boot loader, rooted or anything.
I contacted ASUS and they just told me to do a factory reset or suggest that my pad has a hardware problem.
Please help me out!
Thank you!

Have you tried a factory reset? It's probably good advice right now..

I did but it still shut down automatically
I'm thinking about rooting and try the custom roms if it help

Did you have the shutdown bug when you first got your tablet?
From a tablet running CleanROM 2.3

My advice would be to do a factory reset and see if you have the problem before loading *any* apps. This will rule out an app issue causing your problems.
If it still happens without any third-party apps loaded, then I would exchange it (or RMA it if you can't exchange it).
Remember, once you unlock the bootloader (which is required to load custom ROMs), you warranty will be void. So make sure it's not a hardware problem before trying custom ROM's...
Yes, it's a real PIA to do this (factory reset, test before loading any apps, etc), but it's really the only way to determine if it's a hardware problem or not...

I agree with what jtrosky said. Factory reset and don't install any apps (besides from the ones already pre-loaded). If it still is shutting down then it's probably a hardware issue and I would get it exchanged.

TF700T shuts down when docked
I've had my TF700T for about 2 months now.
I first experienced this shutting down problem about 3 weeks into using it (was under 9.4.5.26 at the time I think).
It appears this occurs only when the tablet is docked and I close the lid (as someone else stated in another short thread).
I've since had all the OTA updates up to 10.4.4.20 and the problem persists.
* A factory reset does not help: I did a few today and did not install anything
* I tried different combinations of settings (mobiledock battery saving mode on or off, disconnect network during sleep on or off...)
* I tried with dock battery empty or charged
I just have to close the lid, wait for 2mn and it's down.
I usually restart the tablet by holding down the power button for like 15s, then again to start so it looks like I first have to force shutdown, then start.
No problem if I don't close the lid and just let it go to sleep.
I'm wondering whether only the tablet, only the dock or both are involved in this.
Current build is 10.4.4.20 (WW)
Pad EC version is PAD-EC20T-0216
MobileDock version is DOCK-EC20N-0207
I suppose I'll try to RMA it

Before you return it, try to download the full version of .20 , do a factory reset then reflash the full firmware. It fixed my shutdown issue.

thats just normal with our beloved Infinity. It has all kind of shut downs, lags and other stuff. It makes this more personal product.
My also sometimes shut downs when I have it docked and closed the lid. Not very often but sometimes. Makes it kinda exciting if you have alarm on the tablet and never can be quite sure if the pad died during your sleep or will you wake up on time 8)

The things you mention are *certainly* not "normal"! If they are constantly happening, I'd guess that you have a faulty device. I have *never* had a single random reboot, sleep of death or any type of "automatic" shutdown or reboot and I've owned the device since it was released...
Just wanted to make others well aware that none of this is "normal"!!
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2

well, for the past few days I could reproduce the shutdown / sleep of death 100% of the time... today the tablet stays awake. I have not changed anything since...
Not too confident for the future though...

Since last post the sleep of death has come back. I have tried reflashing the full 10.4.4.20 firmware to no avail.
A friend of mine with a Prime says she has the same thing, but only when the dock is completely discharged.
I have a feeling it appears on mine as soon as the dock has charged the tablet at least once since last full charge. My testing was not consistent enough to confirm that though.
Anyway, I applied today for a repair with my local reseller (Darty) who categorized that as "firmware fault"...
Now it's wait and see

Shutdown/Freeze problem without dock
I have been having the same problem and I'm not using the keyboard dock... I think the tablet just freezes thought since I have to hold the power button for more then 15 seconds to power it back on.... I'm also on the latest 10.4.4.20 firmware.
I think I'm just going to exchange it for another one since it doesn't seem to affect every TF700 device out there....

Got mine back 2 days ago... and sent again back today to my reseller's warranty service.
The ineffective solution was a firmware flash, which I had tried times over anyway.
This time I had the opportunity to demo the trouble at the counter.
Waiting for next try.

forward to asus
Just for the record, my reseller's support service was apparently not able to find the root cause and reported they've sent the device to Asus today.
Waiting for more news!

so I got my Infinity back two days ago.
The tablet has been in my reseller's hands, then sent to Asus in Czech Republic.
I have no idea what has been done... and the fault is still there, though the sleep of death does not appear all the time... only a lot.
Only things I did since I got it back were: connect to a wireless network, OTA-update to latest build, connect my Google account and update pre-installed apps.
My reseller says "no fault found", which is obviously their latest observation (after they got it back from Asus), not the full story (they wouldn't have RMAed it otherwise).
The RMA number on the box gives no result on Asus' website.
I guess I'll have to send it back again... or check other exchange options.

end of that story
After 4 trips to my reseller, 2 trips to the Czech Asus service center and a total 81 days in repair shop, somebody finally acknowledged something was faulty and "some parts were replaced".
Finally got rid of that "dies on dock" problem.

Wow!
This has been quite a trek for you.
You have really stayed in there with your problem.
Thank you for the updates!
:good:

well, the riddance of my original problem was the good part. Other problems arose:
Now I occasionally see the infamous black line I had never seen before.
and I can't unlock, which might be related to having had RMA as stated several times in this and other transformers forums.
anyway, that's another story.
thanks for the support.

Transformer White Screen Freeze

My Transformer has the same issues as everyone else; it's extremely laggy, apps crash, etc. But I also have this thing where every once in a while, if I click on something, my screen will go white with a line at the bottom and freeze. I have to restart the tablet to get it working again. I read through a lot of different threads and couldn't find anything. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I can't find any causes/solutions online. Any ideas?

I've had the same issue but haven't seen it in a couple days. I was told to cold boot it to solve the problem. After doing that, I haven't seen it again, but I haven't used it as much.
I am having the same issue. Started last night. Froze up first then a bit later went to white screen then rebooted. Today it froze up again...no white screen this time but could not access settings...the icon for settings was there but nothing else. Happen after reboot again...shut it down after that till now. Had been working fine. UPDATE is needed badly...I also have the Acer a700, that has been great so far...much better than this one.
Happened once to me too, i rebooted, and it has not happened since.

Haven't had the white screen return yet but I have had a recurring issue with freezing. Tablet was working last night when I put it down...this morning there was no internet connection. Went to settings to turn on wifi and it froze, just like before, only the settings logo and the word settings were visible. Received a message about the program not responding, my options were to close down or wait for program. When I got the white screen before it happened just as described above.
Here is the thing, installed the 9.4.5.26 20120720 firmware update earlier last night...I was hoping that was the fix for this issue but no such luck.

I had a freezing issue only once.
I installed and used an app that ran in compatibility mode.
It started portrait and I think there was no landscape mode at all.
But I tried to turn the tab for that mode and that was that...
Crashed.
So maybe check for running apps that are not compatible ?
My unit had a burning smell come out of the speaker. Memory has been running consistently high 560 - 690 ram. Now I just got the "white screen of death".
Unit is going back for a replacement.
I have been having the same problem. The past couple of freezes occurred whil using google chrome. I have decided to send it back for a refund (thank you Amazon!)
Too bad, I had anticipated the arrival of this tablet for so long.
I returned my first one for tv snow but i did notice that you can wait it out 15seconds or so. Its almost like it is coming out of a deep sleep coma

Decided to send mine back today (froze again)... who knows how long before I get a replacement...I hope it has no issues or it will go back again and I will get another a700... which has been working great. Sucks because I have to suck up the cost of the screen protector...and buy another.

Worst purchase ever!
I really like Andoid, I currently have a Galaxy S3 phone and I don't have any problems. I really wanted an Android tablet and with the higher resolution the Infinity seemed like the one to get. I have had it for a month and I think this purchase is one of the worst I ever made. With the keyboard and accessories I have around $1000 invested in a tablet that only works part time. It crashes at least once a day while doing different tasks. Just now it was just sitting there on the locked screen and the screen went to all white. Holding the power button didn't do any good and I had to use the reset button. I feel like I wasted my money and I don't know if I should avoid Asus products or if Android tablets suck, the problem might even be with Jelly Bean. I don't like Apple at all but I really wish I had bought an iPad.
this has happened to me three times in the last day, and each time while i tried to play an MP3 and read a Kobo book at the same time. (don't get me started on why a $500 tablet can't play music and display text AT THE SAME TIME. what the hell).
i'd start the track, load up kobo, and BOOM: white screen. i think i know why: all my music was in internal storage. for the hell of it, i moved all my tunes to the microSD card. and no more white screen, i can read and listen to tunes at the same time.
go figure.

I've been having this happen a lot. Essentially, I have two things happen:
1. In some app (Firefox, Redfin (we're house hunting), etc) and click something. Tablet freezes. Click something again, and it resets. The next thing you see is the black screen w/ Asus logo.
2. Same as above, but first you get a full white screen for ~10 seconds. THEN it reboots and you see the black screen w/ Asus logo.
It happens at least once an hour under heavy use of the tablet (lots of app switching, browsing the web, etc).
I have:
1. Cold booted.
2. Upgraded to JB.
3. After upgrading to JB, I reset cache and everything *multiple* times before installing all new apps.
Is this a known issue, or are the few people complaining about it just F'd?
I am seeing this too. Not sure what else to do with this issue?, Exchange? I want to believe this is software, but where does that leave me?

I have this issue under Jelly Bean, but never had it happen under ICS. If you are in the same boat, an exchange will likely not help. Your best bet is either to put on a different firmware, or get a different unit all together (ie, not Asus).

The problem is that Asus decided to use a cheap nand chip that has slow i/o speeds which causes the lag. It's not a problem with android. Have a look at a note 10.1 if you want to see a lag free tablet.
Still, I flashed a new rom, and its much improved. And no white screens so far with a few hours of use.
White screen is a known issue with JB, it's not hardware issue. We just have to wait for another update from Asus. They promised to release a new one soon to address, keyboard, wifi and camera issues, but did not mention about white screen issue. We just have to wait and see. If white screen issue is bothering you too much, just down grade back to .30.

Screen started to flicker! Please help..

Hello all,
I have been using my TF700 for like 3 weeks now. Yesterday suddenly it started to flicker. First I tried cold boot and it turned normal but today it got even worse. It stops randomly and then starts again.
so should i return that or is it just software issue? (dammit i cant out the youtube link)
EDIT: It fades away after like 10-12 seconds, do you think it is software related? Using latest firmware btw.

"5. Disable "smart dimmer", which is the reason you can see some screen flickering when changing between light and dark backgrounds that many find annoying (described by some as "dynamic contrast", which it resembles):
To disable:
echo 0 > /sys/devices/tegradc.0/smartdimmer/enable
To re-enable echo 1 to the this file or simply reboot.
Be sure to include this in a script so that rebooting won't change it (just make an .sh script with the above line in it, you can use either SManager or system .sh scripts (you can use my simple solution posted here if you don't like editing files yourself). See also jtrosky's hints on changing the brightness settings.
Please note that it may negatively affect your battery life, although with brightness set low it shouldn't be much worse.
All credit goes to those who have found out about it - see this post for details."

thank you for your reply. it just occured that for example when there's a flicker on the screen, if i turn on auto brightness, it goes away.
the thing is actually i do not know if it is software related or just bad hardware. returning it to amazon would push me in a lot of trouble (like shipping it back, waiting for repair or sth) and the biggest problem that i don't have that much time.

I'm under the impression that the autobrightness and the smart dimmer are two different things. The smartdimmer cannot be turned off without doing the edit i pasted above. Try it out and see if it works for you

Um yea, I'd get that replaced ASAP
Yep - that's the same kind of graphical glitches that I had before I rebooted and my TF700 was dead (although my glitches weren't quite as bad). After rebooting, my device would just lock up at random places during the startup - sometimes at the first screen (where it says your device is unocked), sometimes at the Asus screen with the circles and sometimes I could even get to the Android lock screen (or even further), but in the end the device just keeps locking up hard. Tried all of the normal "reset" stuff including going back to complete stock, unrooted, etc...
In my case it's definitely a hardware problem, but since I was unlocked, I can't even get warranty service.
Just curious as to your locked state, rooted state or if you were running a custom ROM...
Thanks.

luckily i haven't unlocked it yet and i am sending it back to amazon for replacement. hope i will get one without problems, but i have some doubts about it after reading hundreds of complainings in forums.
My screen sometimes flickers when playing a game. The game also crashes at this point. I wonder what this issue could be. After a cold boot it usually works fine for a couple of days.
I've only had this tablet for 2 weeks now, but some issues like poor io performance, screen flickering, and the screen flex on certain points on the screen are really annoying me. Maybe I should go to the retailer and ask for a replacement.

[Q] Infinity Self Brick?

I should start by saying I'm not that new to android, but I am by no means an expert and have not been able to figure out how to get out of a very confusing situation.
My tf700 is currently running 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and the newest firmware version 10.4.4.23. Before the firmwarm update, I had unlocked my device thinking that I would try out some of the newer roms based on many recomendations from the facebook Infinity group. I never got around to rooting and installing TWRP, and a few days later I updated to the current stock firmware version manualy (downloading zip from website, flashing from stock recovery). Everything worked great for the first 2 days, and I had compeltely forgoten about rooting/romming thinking that the risks far outway the reward as my device was already near perfect. This morning my infinity began to act funny. Touch responseiveness was awfull (about 1/3 times I pressed, it would react) and it would sporadically stop charging while connected to a power supply. Some time later, while I was watching a flash video my screen turned completely blue and I force restarted it by holding the power button. From then on, I could not turn on my infinity and I tried EVERYTHING (pushing the reset button with a pin, trying a cold boot, holding power for 30 sec etc.). When i tried any of these combinations, the device would start vibrating and the vibrations would not stop. Also, the screen remained black the whole time and nothing I did would even get me a faint glimmer of any sort of screen response.
Has anyone had this sort of issue? I do not think this is a firmware problem seing as it worked fine for 2 days with this firmware and I am at a complete dead end as to what to do. Because I am unlocked, I can not send in my infinity for repair as my warranty is gone. Any help with this issue would be greatly apreciated!

Update:
I can now rarely get it to vibrate for even a second holding the power for a long long time. Screen does not come on at all. Looks completely dead.
By your description sounds like a dead or dying LCD.
Sadly RMAing to Asus may cost you out of pocket.
Where did you get the tablet and how long ago?

I was hoping it wouldn't lead to something like this. I got my tablet from Amazon around the first week of september. I have treated it very well.
I'm not quite sure how it could have burned out, my brightness is usualy <50% and I have used the super IPS+ more less time than I can count
on one hand. If this is the case, Is it possible that a technical problem like this would still be repaired on warranty seeing as it has nothing to do
with the bootloader?
Also I'm not sure how this explain the constant vibrating that does not turn off untill the battery runs out. The way I see it is you could be right, the tablet is trying to tell me it's not going to work, or there is really some kind of software glitch.
Have you ever had LCD problems with a tablet? any idea how much this could cost?

I've not had any manufacturing problems with my tab.
I don't see anything you may have done that caused the screen to go bad.
Sounds odd yet a few folks have had their tablet just start working again after seeing similar dead LCD's.
The vibrate thing is weird...almost like a bootloop with no screen.
There's a chance Asus may co-operate if you contact them for an RMA.
It's worth a shot...not sure if Asus has any standard repair rate for this sort of thing.
Curious do you see the back-lights in a darkened room?

Thanks for the advice, I have heard some terrifying stories of Asus customer support (never had a problem with them myself) and of devices just being completely lost in their care.
To answer your question, no the back lights are not visible at all. The only way I know the Infinity is somewhat alive is by the led coming on while charging and the somewhat random vibrating patterns that happen when trying to boot up.

My transformer will not turn on. I used it a couple days ago but don't remember if I fell asleep or powered down. I went to turn back on this morning but there is no response. If I plug in the charger I can see the light come on. Also if I hold the power button it will give a quick vibrate after about 10 seconds. Has anyone else had this problem?
Its rooted and unlocked. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance for your time.
I forgot to mention that there is nothing being displayed on the screen at anytime whatsoever...

Try cold booting it? Turn it off and then turn it on while holding the volume down button.
Try connecting it to your laptop, see if detects it???
Maybe its a software app thing?

Already tried both. Problem is, is that there is no way to see if the device is even powered on... The battery meter on the screen doesn't even show up when its plugged in/charging...
Wow....that sucks.
If your computer doesnt detect it, then idk what you could do.... cuz if it did, then you could try to use adb to try and restarting t.
It sucks that its unlocked or i would have said to just contact asus to get it replaced.
Other than that, its hard to say...sorry man.

Then tried the paper clip in the reset button by the hdmi input.
Then I tried both ideas again with the charger plugged in....
Frustrating. Unless someone has anymore ideas I may just try and send it in. Hopefully they cant tell if its been unlocked or not because nothing is being displayed..

Then I tried both ideas again with the charger plugged in....
Frustrating. Unless someone has anymore ideas I may just try and send it in. Hopefully they cant tell if its been unlocked or not because nothing is being displayed..

You can't send to ASUS when you use unlock tool they get your S/N and save it in case something like this happens. The only way I can see around this would be if you bought it at a Best Buy. They maintain 1 year manufacturer warranties if you bought from them so you could feasibly take to geek squad/Customer service and say it just stopped working. They wouldn't have record that you unlocked the tab. You would most likely need the receipt or some confirmation you bought it there though. Good luck.
Sorry friend, seems like you are in real trouble. I had a very similar problem, my only solution was to exchange it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203565
As you have unlocked yours, the warranty is no longer valid, and although Asus will fix it, you will have to pay to get it done. Since I'm on my second TF, and it even has had a problem that nearly bricked it, I am simply afraid to unlock it while still within the warranty period.
Might get lucky and see something with it connected to the HDMI port.

They did with my TF201 and this guys TF700 just a month ago http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240970
They took back my TF201 in August last year. I was told by BB it was done under the manufacturers warranty. It really does depend on who you talk to and how you approach them with the problem. Several people had to try different BB stores until they found that one person working there that either knew HOW to do it or was willing to take it back.
I had the same problem. Tried all the ideas mentioned above. I then put it on the charger for a day and afterwards it just booted like nothing had happened.
(mine is not rooted or unlocked)

TF201 is a different tab and basically BB and asus came to an agreement to take them back. The guy in your link got lucky. Probably only got a trade because of the extreme nature of the defect. Fact is you cannot just go into BB and get a new tablet under mfg warranty.

Exactly.
Now for the good news. My tablet came back to life last night after 3 weeks of trying. It was totally dead and wouldn't even vibrate anymore. plugged it in and it actually tried to boot right away but then turned off. Let it charge for a few and tried again and it booted no problem. Battery % is now showing accurately and it has now been running fine for 12 hours.
My problem is I went out and got an HP envy x2 (win8) tab on saturday. Now to decide which to keep... I love the envy but the new quad cores are coming out this fall which should really make it a versatile little laptop. Just don't know if I can live with android now that I have a taste of full win 8.

Any updates? My TF700 stopped turning on as well. Same recovery efforts, now waiting on the battery to drain. I unlocked/rooted for cleanrom (faster/better). Worked fantastic till last thursday and it refused to turn on in my college class. This could signal my exit from Android even though I have a lot of money invested in apps.

Good to hear. Aside from the snappier response of cleanrom my biggest issue with the asus firmware was the waste of screen space on the home screen. It had like a 1" border all the way around that you can't put an icon in and that annoyed me the most of all. Been waiting the battery to go completely dead before I send it in just hoping that fixes it.

[Q] Is sleep of death common on this tablet?

I got this Tablet on Xmas. I rooted and updated, 1st thing, and began experiencing sleep of death (won't wake from sleep and you have to long press the power button to power down, then power back up the tablet again). I thought it might be due to rooting so I went back to the factory image through fastboot, flashing the original OS, recovery and everything and I still get sleep of death on this thing. I've got a new one coming from Tigerdirect but I'm wondering if this issue is common or not. I'm hoping not cause I can't find much info on it online. Thanks for any info.

I've been having this issue stock, no root. I feel like Nvidia left out some polishing. But I will say that I didn't have this issue before the 5.0.1 update.
I suspect constant sleep death to be a physical fault of some shield tablets. My first tablet had it occasionally, but my RMA replacement has never had it. Ever.
That being said, sleep death can be caused by some apps, too. Try to diagnose it assuming its an app running wild, if you cant track it down contact nvidia for a replacement.

Yep, I had this issue only after updating to 5.0.1 stock, no root. But after a few reboot cycles, the issue resolved itself.
I do not have this issue - its a LTE purchased on blackFriday. In fact I have NEVER had even a single app crash. I just rooted last week and no issues their either (on 5.01).
Have you tried doing a clean install?
Load CWM - Format all partitions
Then flash NVIDIA 1.2 recovery Image
Then upgrade to 5.01 (direct upgrade now - 5.0 is no longer an incremental from OTA).
if it still does this after a full wipe then I would suspect its hardware related.
Thanks for the input. I have formatted everything and the issue still persisted, I never did try staying on kitkat though. Is Kitkat still best for this tablet? I see a lot of people down on lollipop. I wonder if it would have worked itself out but a new one is on the way already. I just hope it's as good as this one in terms of light bleed and cracked corners. The one I have has the most minimal of bleeds in one corner and no cracks whatsoever.
You reformatted and reloaded 501 full?
I reflashed the Nvidia recovery image (1.2 KitKat) and it performed like a dog in comparison to 5.01... So I re-upgraded back to 5.01.
5.01 has a few glitches (battery stats, battery life in general, Graphical Corruption) but in general I have no stability issues and have no issues while its in a deep sleep.
Have you tried turning off wifi when the tablet is sleeping? Leaving WiFi running while in deep sleep seems to be a culprit of various issues. Try that..

I've tried everything you mentioned and more. Believe me, I wanted to keep this thing but nothing seems to work.

I had the exact same problem. Factory reset did not resolve. Contacted Nvidia support and they told me to return for replacement. Thankfully I purchased mine through Amazon and they sent me a new one right away. No problems with the new tablet. I love this tablet!

Even though the solution seems to be getting a replacement, I'll post my scenario here in case it helps anyone identify their problem:
I have been having this sleep of death issue since I got the tablet with KitKat back in October, and it has persisted through the upgrade to Lollipop. It happens almost every other day at least. I have always run completely stock, no root or anything.
I've noticed this same issue on my tablet as well. It's not very frequent (maybe once every couple days). It is my 1st RMA, and I dont recall it happening before the 5.0.1 upgrade. If the next update doesn't fix the issue I will probably go for my 2nd RMA.
mine does it. It's infrequent, but it does it. Running 5.0.1.
Yea I have this problem on mine, I got mine the week the tablet came out so I am not surprised there are some faults here and there with mine.
Update
Got my replacement Shield from tigerdirect and haven't experienced the issue in the 3 days I've used it (knocks on wood). Running lollipop just like the previous tablet, same apps installed through TBU. The last one I had would sleep of death about 2-3 times a day or more depending on use. Very happy with the product now I wish all my android devices were so smooth. My Transformer infinity is now nothing but a Netflix machine during cardio at the gym.
Unsure if this is valid info or not but on the 1st tablet I rooted using towelroot on kitkat, then used flashify to boot cwm and installed lollipop through cwm. On the new/2nd tablet I upgraded to lollipop through normal software updates, then unlocked bootloader and rooted. I don't think this makes a difference as I flashed back to factory image and stock bootloader on the 1st tablet, then upgraded using the same process I did on the 2nd and still got sleep of death. It seems to be a hardware related issue but thought I'd share anyhow.
Have same problem on my tablet. I think this is more software problame than hardware. All my hopes too new update/
I am having this same problem. I am totally stock LTE model. Trying to single out an app but it is doing it multiple times a day sometimes which makes it difficult to single out an app that could be the culprit(that and not being rooted). Hoping they release an upgrade soon.
Edit: this sleep of death problem did not occur before 5.0.1 BTW.
I had the problem from the start in August, when I got it. actually quite annoying and frequently. Resolved when I did a factory reset on the last 4.4 OTA. After upgrading to 5.0 I have had performance issues and some sleep of deaths again. But I did not come around to do a factory reset again since I am too lazy to back everything up . I am not sure if it is solely hardware related since at least for me, the factory reset cleared my problems once...
Mine only SODs when I change the performance mode and don't reboot, if I reboot after changing the performance mode it's fine.

I have it also.. On 5.0.1 here.. But I solved it when I installed "ultimate on off" I think it prevent the device to be on deep sleep.. Ultimate on off helps me with the annoying power button..
seems like I fixed it
I think I narrowed it down to the app Tegra Zone. It had crashed a few times but the service was still running in the background. Uninstalled and my battery is lasting a bit longer and it hasn't wake locked on me in over 24 hours. The service is probably gimping the tab in the background.
