Craig CMP741E help - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
Ignorantly, I went to put CM9 on my wife's tablet. I was unaware at the time the touch screen stopped working when you did that... and me being dumb, I never did a back up first.
I thought this would get GAPPS working, but then I found out all I had to do was root and add it through ICS,,, Ooops...
So does anyone have either a stock ROM for this or any suggestions on how I can get this working again?
Thanks,
Bob

Craig electronics website has original ROM for free download

This tablet right out of the box is one of the worst I have seen
friend gave me one when it quit working...no power. Nothing at all.
I have it working now and google app store won't actually install the apps the site says "installed" but the app is nowhere in the tablet!
Looking for new and better ROM. Please someone help both of us and all the future buyers of this tablet

Android Noob needs help with rooting

hello all, I have a relatively new Samsung Captivate that is now running Gingerbread 2.3.4 ROM. I bought it from someone who had put Gingerbread on it for me.
I want to get it rooted but I have no idea what I'm doing so I'm hoping someone can help me with this.
kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I897UCKH3-CL461307
baseband version: I897UCKH3
I hope I have not made a redundant post, I've seen other posts but none of them seem to pertain to a Captivate with 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

Hey kbolt,
have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723116
Good luck,

Thank you for the quick reply, Bushido. I realised that the latest post in the link is from last year, and after skimming through it (i'll do a proper read through when i have time) I don't know if it's speaking directly to my problem. Or have I missed something?
---------- Post added at 04:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:40 AM ----------
Would this process work for my situation?
I'm not yet allowed to post links so could you just look at the following website please:
tomsguide.com/us/Root-Your-Android-Phone,review-1688-3.html
Of course, I'm asking for all this help because I am so very afraid of bricking this phone.

Hey kbolt,
you are right - the Samsung Captivate officially got Gingerbread 2.3.4 in the end of august 2011. All the root-versions I found are only approved with froyo. Have a look at this page and the links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-I897
One thing you could do is flash a custom rom, which is already rooted i.e.:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238551
When something should go wrong, you can flash back the stock rom:

Good luck,

[Q] LG Lucid Software Rollback

I have a friend who has an LG Lucid. They recently got a software update and it changed the whole UI and they hate it. I did not see a section on this forum for the LG Lucid. Does anyone know if it is possible to revert the phones software to a previous version?
Thanks

BUMP
Really need some help guys. Is there somewhere else I should post this?
Looking for info on this for a friend too... Surprised to find NOTHING about the phone lol.

Here i found this....
This is supposedly the GB stock file: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/40093877/VS840ZV6_06.S6_06.P58014.R5.cab
Then I guess you use the program and isntructions (not the file) from here:http://androidforums.com/lucid-all-things-root/654009-guide-unbrick-lg-lucid.html
I do not own a LG Lucid and take no responsibility for what you do with your or your friends device. Use at your own risk.... That being said, after a long search this is the only thing i could find.

[Q] Galaxy s3 phone problems on cyanogenmod 10

I am currently having a problem on my galaxy s3 (GT-i9300) on cyanogenmod 10 in that I cannot hear anyone over the phone. I have tried to do a factory reset and use the phone from there. I have restored from backup, I have tried installing different versions of cm10 but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Probably going to be a lot more successful searching in the actual device forums for a solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1563
---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:04 PM ----------
Also I just did a quick search and came up with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1872745
Last post seems like it may be a fix.
Thanks very much for the reply, and that seems to have fixed the problem.
I'm very new to the forums so please forgive the mistake about the post.
Should I contact a moderator to get this post removed, or moved to the relevant location?
Doesn't really matter at this point, glad it worked for you.

[Completed] textnow,textfree...force close, cant make calls etc.

hello guys new to this thread but trust me i've been looking and reading and cant find anything to do with my problem so...
anyway some background im running the latest twrp and cromi-x 5.4 deodex on the tf700 and im also on the latest firmware.
so heres my problem,I use textnow and textfree alot,so much so that I buy minutes on a monthly basis, well once I unlocked and installed this rom it seems I cant make calls anymore on textnow-which I have about 4000 minutes left on...but heres the thing, when I open rom toolbox pro and tick the app manager tab and click textnow icon,I notice that in permissions the "able to make outgoing and recieve incoming calls" permission isnt allowed...Im not really that technical but I tried what i could as far as Running a "fix permissions" script for the app itself and i also ran one system wide....I wish i could get a reply from someone who knows how to fix this situation because its really bugging me and i dont want to revert back to stock cause that sucks and Crombi-KK doesnt have the Xloud or Noozoxide mods which I actually do appreciate so much.
also am i supposed to know that browser2ram is running like in supersu or does it run in the background default? because i definitely do not get any notification from supersu that its even running( no grant notifications or anything)

Hi there! And welcome to XDA. ?
I'm afraid you're asking very ROM specific questions. And you also know what I would suggest off the bat.....flash stock and see if it works.
This is the ROM thread I believe you are using. The guys in that thread know the device better than anyone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223492&page=594
Now I see you don't have the 10 post minimum to ask your questions in a dev section forum, so my advice is to browse through the tf700 section and post some meaningful and constructive posts and/or comments on threads that interest you in the General and Q&A sections. Once you have 10 posts....you're good to go to post in the ROM thread. Just don't post anything to get your 10 post count though, or you will probably have them deleted by moderator.
Here's the tf700 section...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf700
Good luck!
---------- Post added at 07:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:02 PM ----------
Perhaps post a question about browser to ram in Q&A....if you don't see any other threads on it first. If so, ask there.
A good way to get a couple posts in.
---------- Post added at 07:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:13 PM ----------
Also searched and found an older thread, but has some browser to ram info directly related to your device.

flash stock??

im sorry how do i do that...flash stock, can i still keep the sound mods like xloud, noozoxide?
I found a complete guide for your device. Scroll down through the opening post and there's a return to stock section. This guide has a LOT of great how to's!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833212
As far as the mods go, you'd need to root again after returning to stock and see if the mods work with stock. If not, the guide covers flashing ROMs....you'd have to flash whatever is necessary to run the mods.
