Hey guys. Im new to Android (and HTC) so pardon me if i get anything wrong.
I recently bought an HTC One S - career unlocked. It doesnt seem to be able to find the android 4.0.4 and sense 4.1 ota update. Im on 4.0.3 and sense 4.0.
I do not know the region of my one s (i'm using it in Pakistan). The build number is 1.11.415.124. Perhaps anyone of you can tell me what is the region of my one s?
Moreover, Since it is career-unlocked, can i flash a European ruu that would allow me to get the 4.0.4 update?
I need to change the build number (i.e. flash another ruu WITHOUT ROOTING or S-OFFing) as my one s does not offer my language, which is "English (Pakistan)". It mainly supports arabic and middle east country names are listed.
I hope i made myself clear. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Go into your bootloader. (Power down and when powering on the device you press the power button+Volume down.) Get the hboot number and get a europe ruu that matches your hboot.

"fastboot getvar cid":good:
my cid: HTC__038

I know my One S is the s3 version. However, i do not know where to download the ruu based on my hboot. Any help there?
You need a Asian/Indian ruu with the mainver greater than your current version 1.11.415.124 , just run the ruu greater than 1.11.415.124 it should be named HTC asia , no you can't run a HTC Europe ruu ,

Where are you located and where did you buy your phone from?
Is your phone branded or not?

I`m DEEEEEEEPLY sorry for not answering you !
I`m located at Croatia, branded on Vodafone (haven`t super CID-ed )
so, what am I supposed to do ?
To choose the correct RUU, you have to match model (LE= XE), carrier (not if you bought unbranded), software version, baseband of your original setup. You can view available RUU here:

How can i know which one is for my HTC Sensation XE?
I would like to know too how can i check which ruu is for my xe...
I got my xe already rooted when i bought it.
You need to take LE version, for example:
RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.25.401.101
RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.24.401.1
The first one is the one you need! Of course you need to check the corresponding version to the GB version you're looking for, i just grabbed the first version available to show you the difference! The GB versions start with 1.(some numbers here).

And check carrier (e.g. Vodafone UK) if your original stock rom was carrier specific, or if you do not have superCID. For example I would have to use ruu below to match my handset, region, software (my device was not carrier specific):
RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02
Hey guys,
let me ask u another few questions:
1. Prubably my RUU is RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9 035.00U_10.15.9035.02 because my Sensation XE is Europe version and is never lock. Is this correct?
2. To install this RUU i juns need to run is from PC with connected phone in debug mode, or i need to do something else?
Thank you in advanced guys.
that thread dosen't have it anymore, and i really need it. any suggestions?
Could anyone help me by giving me few steps towards doing this? Once I complete is successfully I will edit this and post a full, detailed guided for anyone else looking to do the same thing.
What I have:
-HTC Sensation which has the latest Android update (never rooted, never changed from anything default)
-I downloaded the RUU 1.5... TMOUS
-I saw that I need to do a bootloader from HTCdev on my phone and Install Android SDK
Can anyone PLEASE give me a little better guide on what to do exactly?
Often people just say "its in the forums, here's a link" and the link will take me to a million other links and explanations. Very confusing and I wasn't able to find a good explanations for us noobs.

JuopunutBear to S-OFF. Flash GB RUU
All you have to do is run the RUU. Make sure your PC has the appropriate drivers for your device and HTC Sync. I had to restore a few times using the stock 1.73.401.4 RUU for my Sensation XE, and that is all that I had installed. I can verify that root is not needed in my experience although I did have S-Off.
I hope this helps.
Don't need HTC Sync installed. Just need the drivers. Not sure if RUU comes with said drivers. Need to be S-OFF to downgrade hboot. ICS hboot is NOT compatible with GB (1.23 is, but that's not what's included with the latest RUUs).
Without S-OFF, you CANNOT RUU back to GB.
If it were so simple as flashing GB RUU, we wouldn't need JuopunutBear
downgrade is very complicated.
root the current ICS and install recovery
Juopunubear S-OFF (require htcdev unlock and root)
downgrade firmware to 1.17
flash GB rom or run GB RUU

you cannot update an S3 with S4 files. If the phone lets you install it, you will surely brick your phone.
Yes, I know it 2.15 is S3 update ICS 4.0.4 and Sense 4.1

You can update it if your CID is the same (or have SuperCID). The RUU needs to be from the same region, carrier etc. You can change your CID if you look in the dev posts for SuperCID, but before going there, check Footballs post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1543588 and see if there is a S3 RUU that is compatible with your current region, carrier, S3 One S, etc
my cid is vodap102 but i don't know the RUU update cid, so i can't update?

SneakyGhost has a public dropbox at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nnpoodr69b7ibmk/qdQyL3RBwE
There is a CID list there. See if you can match that to whatever info you can get out of the file name for the RUU you are interested in.
Is this for S4 or S3

CID's go beyond S3 or S4... Its for all, as far as I know (I think they also relate to HTC One X too)
