Help - Deleted ROM - Asus Transformer TF700

Balls! In TWRP I wiped Data and System and now since all my files are gone I can't flash a ROM.
TWRP doesn't recognise my External SD either so what do I do?
When I turn on the tablet I do get 4 options:
Recovery
Android
USB
Download
Sent from my GT-I9300

when you choose recovery, what happens? you may need to reflash TWRP.

It opens up TWRP but from there I can't see my External SD and trying to select the External SD option does nothing. It's formatted at FAT32 and contains a zip for Clean ROM.

Oh, you are using a SD and not a MicroSD? If so, grab a MicroSD if you have one and insert it into the pad, not dock. It WILL see that.

Sorry, it is a Micro SD in the side of the actual tablet.

If you can't get it to work, connect it to a PC and use adb to push the zip onto the tablet.

Phew! I fast booted CMW and now flashing CleanROM

[Q] Can't mount sd card

Hi,
I have a tablet EEE Transformer TF101 build number 8.6.5.21 rooted with CWM Recovery v3.2.0.1-roach2010-tf101-r1 installed but when in the recovery i try to access the sd card (for backup, for example) says "can't mount sd card". I already tried to find solutions such as formatting the sdcard into fat32 but nothing works.
Some help pls?

Not sure if this would work or not, but worth a shot. Have you tried downgrading to 8.6.5.19, then trying?

I'm thinking it has to be external, because it isn't mounting the sd card? I thought cwm always mounts the external card.

It does. External micro-SD card.
Internal SD-card is not supported, at least not with Roach's recovery. Not sure aboutthe XM Rogue recovery, but it seems to sport better support for lots of things, being based on CWM 5.x.x.x.

yes, from a friend of mine and it still doesnt work! ((
How are you formatting the sd card?
Try a program like SD Formatter
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/
go back to Team Rogue Recovery and it will be able to mount both the internal and external SD memory

yes this is true. team rogue-cmw recovery will let you choose between the internal /mnt/sdcard/ and the /Removable/MicroSD/ for your backups. or you could flash a full clockworkmod recovery img and just make nandroid backups with rom manager or rom toolbox pro.

How do you go back to Team rogue recovery if your sd card will not mount? I have tried 4 different micro sd cards. Am I correct that they need to be formatted to fat32? Anything else need to be done to them?
Thanks in advance!!!
ok if youre trying to flash a different recovery.img to the tf101 you dont need a micro sd card at all. remember theres internal storage memory, then theres /mnt/sdcard/ which is also part of the internal memory , if you plug in a micro it will list as /Removable/MicroSD/ it looks as if youre getting them confused. now depending on the recovery it could be called someting else. team rogue recovery will call your internal /mnt/sdcard/ -internal memory- and it will call /Removable/MicroSD/ -sdcard- so it can get tricky. to make it easy you can always do backips to your internal and then copy them over to the microsd later.
had the same problem, try this:

You could try flashing another recovery using easyflash or brk.

Installing roms.

Ok so I'm confused, whenever I load a new rom I always go into recovery mode and use cwm, but lately I've been reading that it's not a good way to do it. That it can corrupt the file, am I missing something this is the only way I know how to load roms.

It's bad to transfer ROMs to your phone from your computer using the clockworkmod mounting method.
Flashing ROMs through CWM is the only way to go.

Meaning put the downloaded rom and put it onto and sd card via a micro sd card adapter in your computer or transfer it while there is a working rom on the phone.
I connect my phone to PC then just transfer to sd card I never use cwm

I don't mean to take this off topic but this has to do with cwm. I am trying to load a new rom through cwm using my micro SD card but it is not recognizing my SD card in cwm. do I need to wipe it before I see anything? really nervous about doing that without seeing the rom first. what should I do?

Do you have an internal or external SD? If you have an internal SD you will have to scroll down to "choose zip from internal SD".
Also, as a rule of thumb, whenever you are switching ROMs you should backup and wipe first unless you are on the same ROM and are just updating and the developer says that a full wipe is not needed.
I am using an external micro SD card. I have just the option for "install zip from sdcard" then I have the option to "choose zip from sdcard". when I select this, all I can see is 2 folders "lost.dir and Android" not the 2 zip files or folders that are on my external sdcard. internal sdcard refers to the phones internal storage correct? I dont want to confuse the 2.

The phone comes with an 8 GB internal SD card, and then you can put in up to a 32 GB micro SD card. You may have actually unknowingly put the files on your internal SD.
After choosing "Install zip from SD card" try choosing "Choose zip from internal SD card" (not quoted exactly, I can't check for my self right now but the option will say something about internal memory.) See if your zips are in there.
do i need to wipe first before seeing that option? I am using the latest cwm it does t give me the option to choose. I took the micro SD out and loaded the zips on there and reinstalled it into the phone but it will not allow me to see the externalSD card in cwm. I can see the zips on my phone when it is on using androzip. but unable to access on cwm. do I need to clear something in cwm to make this access able?

Update:
I was afraid that doing a format will damage something, but took the chance, and it was all good, was able to copy a nandroid and restore.
Thanks
Just format fat32 on pc while in twrp. It may even say that it won't mount SD. Check PC and drive shod be there.

Trying to root my sg3

I am following the directions on this thread. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439 ) to root my phone. I am a new member so I was unable to post of this thread. My question is, I do not have an sd card. Can I still just download the files onto my phone without an sd card? If so, how do I do that?

Its not hard at all. Once you have the Samsung drivers installed on your computer, you can plug the cable in to the phone and the computer will see it like its a USB drive. I guess it really is if you think about it..
If you go in to the Device Manager in Windows (you are talking about Windows, yes?) and then the USB section, it will list the Samsung drivers. ODIN wont work without them either, so it needs to be done. Run ODIN and plug the phone in and then ODIN will report the phone on a COM port. When you see that you know its working correctly.
I rooted mine using pretty much these same step by step instructions and it worked fine. Just make sure you have everything installed and know where everything is before hand and it will go smoothly for you.
After you root UNLOCK the BOOTLOADER or you will be sorry later. I found out the hard way and had to jump through hoops to get my phone back because I didnt do that. There is an app (EZ UNLOCK) that is a one button solution for this. If you go this route make sure to use v1.2 and not any of the others. Trust me on that too.
This is where I am having trouble. After flashing my recovery and when I enter the recovery mode I have the option to install zip from sd card. The thing is, I do not have an sd card. I installed the zip onto my phone but when I enter recovery mode I cannot find it.

You have an internal SD card and that is what the install from SD card option is referring to. The install from SD card ext option refers to your external SD card which you have to buy seperatly.

[Q] No access to ExtSD Card

Tried to do a backup with Titanium Backup Pro today and got a message that the External SD could not be accessed. Couldn't access it with Root Explorer either. Took the card out and connected to PC, could read/write to card and all my data was there. Put card back into phone and used the file manager in TWRP Recovery. Again no luck. Tried "Mount" in TWRP but when I tap "ExtSD" it won't put in a checkmark and it can't be selected. I have no idea what to try next. I'm rooted on 4.1.2. Stock, TWRP recovery. Any ideas on how to fix will be appreciated.
Shut down your phone and take your card out and insert it to your pc. Transfer all your files to your pc and then format the sd card. After that transfer your items back to your sd card and put back into your phone. Boot it up and you should be good to go.
