Sounds like you didn't flash the boot.img. first prior to flashing cm10. The boot.img. is different for aosp than sense based roms

Can you provide more detail
The rom you have installed
The firmware you have
The radio you have
After this I might be able to help you because right now I'm not sure what the problem can be

factory reset is not recommended on custom roms. if you want a fresh install just wipe everything and flash the rom again.

Search it, there's plenty of guides that say how to wipe.
Found it. Actually I have the same issue. After I flashed the new ROM, the first reboot was very long and stuck and black background with Android in the middle of the screen. I don't know what to do next.
flash recovery.
What do you mean?

Did you use the superwipe script available in the ARHD thread? You MUST superwipe coming from a different rom to ARHD.

Are you stuck in HTC logo or splash screen? If it's spalshscreen, wipe data and cache might solve the problem, but if you are stuck in HTC logo, maybe you need to reflash your recovery.
Use RHD superwipe first then reflash the Rom again it might help. I encounter the same thing when I tried flashing RHD Rom without doing superwipe but later I discover that I must do superwipe then I did it and it works fine.

So your phone works normal if you use other roms? Because I see you are replying on your phone. If so, then it's not recovery that cause the problem, and if you have tried wipe data and cache, maybe your firmware is not updated sucefully? Or the rom you downloaded is not corret? Just guessing.
DON'T wipe the data partition. If you do no wonder your ROM won't boot after flashing. Data partition is important, it holds key files. Wipe only the cache and dalvik cache. But they shouldn't need re wiping after a superwipe.
What ROM are you using currently? It may be a firmware incompatibility.
Yes i m replying from ma Phone, actually i m running on ViperS 1.1.0 ,everything works perfect then i backup the current Rom, then update the firmware to 3.33.41.X then i run superwiped script from ARHD, then Flashed ARHD 6.7.2 then i found i m stuck on HTC loho....
Any Help ???

Why do you want to s-on?! S-off makes things a lot simpler. No need for smartflash and have extended fastboot commands

Unlocked and flashed twrp on my brothers sensation 4G and flashed a few ROMS, none of them wil go past the boot animation screen. not sure what to do next or what im doing wrong. please help or guide me in the right direction. thanks
When said 'unlocked what exactly do you mean? Is it s-off? Is it HTCDev unlocked?
Bootloops occur when the kernel, firmware and rom do not all match. I would suggest flashing 4ext recovery and marking 'smartflash' option before flashing any roms.
Than flash 3.33 firmware (see my signature).
Later, flash roms. I would suggest starting with ARHD (Android Revolution HD) which is close to stock.
If it goes well you're good to go on other roms.

I'm on HBOOT 1.27.00000 and S-ON.
Now I've just flashed MIUI v5 4.2.14 and it won't boot after restart.
It stays at the HTC white screen.
Is there anyone kind enough to guide me how to properly install MIUI, or, at least back to the stock rom?
I'm desperately needing help here :crying:

I finally figured it out.
After flashing the rom, have to flash the boot.img (inside the rom zip file) as well, using the command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Now I'm able to boot into MIUI and enjoy the new rom!
I never have to do this extra step with flashing my Desire HD, not sure why it doesn't work this time.
Anyway, thanks for your help

So I don't really need S-OFF to flash any custom roms that I want right?
I will just have to take the extra step of flashing boot.img..
Because I can't seem to work out S-OFF on my sensation despite whole afternoon of hard-works.
Is there an easy way to S-OFF sensation other than the paper-clip hack?

no need to S-OFF for flashing custom roms
and unfortunately there is no other way except wire trick
but you can always flash 4ext recovery and avoid the extra step for boot.img
