Hey guys as the topic says my lock button ain't responding!..
All was fine until today my phone suddenly hanged and I took off my battery to restart the phone but tit turned on on its own without pressing the power button !..and now when I try to lock the device or turn it off it ain't working!:
I am thinking is it the ROM issue (I'm using official cm7) or hardware issue(key is broken)...
Please help!

Go with it at a service...oh but if the power button don't work you can't go to download mode...but try with an app from market maybe it will work.

A Guy in my neighborhood runs a repair shop and I took my fit to him!..he said that its not a hardware fault but indeed it's a software defect!..He said that in such a case mostly 80% it is a software defect! ..
So I was planning to flash a stock ROM can anyone provide me with the link of latest Indian Firmware for Galaxy Fit?..(along with a small procedure,if possible) ...
Thanx guys!..

Should I go for 4 files firmware or .tar?
Sent from my GT-S5670 using Tapatalk 2
It's not an Official CM7 prob. But, since, it seems nothing except repairing ur phone... you should give it a try. Try to flash both stock firmwares one by one, and see whether it's back to normal. It doesn't matter which one u flash first. Flash either four pkg firmware or one pkg.(depends on U).:thumbup::thumbup:

Download stock ROM from here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
In Search write s5670 and you now have ROMs for download.
After download ROM.zip, extract it.
You now have MD5 File. Flash this 4 MD5 File with ODIN.
This is an example:

Power button issue
Hey admin I have this strange issue with my fit !
Whenever I charge my phone with a different charger of the same specs or if i overcharge my phone the power button responds like its a touchscreen button or so !
I do not need to press the button !
Even if I roll a finger over it it would lock or unlock n may switch off or reboot at random !
Plz solve this thing !
Note: already tryd numerous ROMs !
currently on MII v4 !
Hey i facing the same problem here.
my power button has been broken for a year.
But when i go to service centre, they said they must change all of sparepart. because the thing that broke is the main machine.
I dont know they're trying to trick me or not
i had same problem earlier but not now..
There was a time when my Galaxy fit device started acting weirdly like trunng off automatically, frequent hangs, etc. But i was okay with all those things till my power off button suddenly stopped working at all. Although i still was able to go to safe mode and recovery mode but it wasn't working during normal operations. Till than i was usuing the old FORYO 2.2 version of android. I thought maybe upgrading to Gingerbread can solve the problem. So i tried upgrading my device through Samsung kies. Unfortunately due to slow internet or some other issue i wasn't able to upgrade my device.
Than i finally upgraded my device manually through Odin. All my hopes were dashed when i noticed that my power off button was still not working. Than i flashed various roms like Jana Rom and finally i'm using stock rom.
After using this rom for about 1.5 years one day i suddenly noticed that my power off button started working miraculously. One of my friend who also use Galaxy fit had same problem but his power off problem was automatically fixed quite earlier than me. So i guess it would be best if you wait long enough and hope that the power off button would one day started working again.

Use fastboot from your PC. Everything is controlled from CMD Prompt. Look at Pete's tutorial. Just need to setup the drivers. Check the stickies.

Just have it fixed through best buy it takes 3 business days I sent mine in on Thursday and got it Monday since obviously weekends don't count. My power button wasn't working either and I was rooted and unlocked bootloader..just save all your data since they might just give you a new nexus like me

doesnt black tie give you a new phone right there?
also try, inserting the battery in while its plugged in. It may turn on automatically.

^^ as per what i read, this must be corrupt internal memory and only way out is replace motherboard.
Before you leave for the service center, have a cuppa coffee, and try flashing xxkpe using odin 1.83 and see if that works. Make sure you follow the guide for xxkpe.
After flashing KPE, can you go into the stock recovery?
I am really confused. Why people are suddely facing this type of error?? I am still sure that it should be software issue.

I had a similar issue just some weeks ago. I figured out that
1. my volume keys are a little worn out so I had to remove the back cover.
2. Try to remove your battery and wait one night. Then try to start in download mode again.
It worked for me, although I thought I bricked my phone.
Fingers cross.
Cheers

If you have tried what this guy above me had posted and still didn't work.. perhaps using a USB JIG might be useful? If you dont have one, you can borrow one near you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869494:)

Hard reset will surely help. I had once got my phone bricked, then hard reset worked.
Hold the small reset button besides the camera on the back side of the phone with a pin, then enter download mode, the phone will boot up into download mode. Then flash a stock rom and your phone will be working again.
i tried all and no download mode...gave it to service centre..my baby's still in warranty so hopefully samsung will not charge me. missing u all guys will b back soon. noobs watch out!!:silly:

Atleast he didnt blame me xD
so... back on topic:Is there some way to fix this and make it boot (the phone's region is europe)
off topic XD
Darn u samsung for not making kies work on my pc.
Darn u google for not adding a update feature to froyo just like in gingerbread ^^

You did not mention what you exactly did. I mean... what are those "needed things"? It's not just enough that you start with some stuff and begin flashing. You should have proper knowledge & accurate files & extremely careful while doing these type of tasks.
Sent from my GT-S5670 using xda premium
the needed things were odin 4.83, BENI_v1.0.ops, and S5670XWKTI from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583430
.....
**** figures -_- i just noticed the thease roms are for gingerbread users only... i flashed the gingerbread only roms on froyo :/ -.-
the phone responds(screen on... lol)... yea but i could not get it to oding with power+home+volume down it didint display the logo on startup too...
I installed S5670XWKTI from here:
https://hotfile.com/dl/150258349/ecfe6ae/S5670XWKTI_S5670DBTKT1_DBT.rar.html
He working fine for me. He have 4 file. I use Odin 4.42.

Hey! The names of four files is important. They need to be set at right place. If odin is still detecting your phone while you tried the Download Mode, may be this will helpcheck your starting file names)
1. OPS :- BENI_v1.0.ops
2. BOOT :- APBOOT_S5670.....
3. PHONE :- MODEM_S5670.....
4. PDA :- CODE_S5670....
5. CSC :- CSC_S5670....
You can try this (at your own risk) b'coz froyo also have 4 files with their correct order mentioned above.
Hope this helps...

Buddy It is sad to see you facing problem with your device. Can you tell exactly what's your problem. What I understand from your post is whenever you remove your battery and plug it back your mobile is not turning on. You have to keep it off for 1 day before you can turn it on successfully. Is that what you are trying to say buddy?

I was using official rom not rooted one till yesterday.
I installed ICS yesterday guessing that it would solve the problem but the problem remains same & it became worst than ever before.
I am going to install the original firmware once again but I am not getting the proper link to download it. Could you please just give me the link to download ginger bread 2.3.6 for the Saudi Arabian Region?
& I think there must be a problem in boot sector. Whenever I remove the battery and plug it back to it, it takes time to turn it on at least 10 to 24 hours.
One more thing my laptop is detecting the mobile even my mobile is turn off.
