Crying tablet? - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had my tablet, docked and on charge. After it had fully charged (i was using it), i noticed a sound which i can't really describe coming from the tablet. It wasn't very loud and was like a screeching sort of sound. As soon as i took the charger out, the noise went away but upon plugging it back in, the noise instantaneously returns. What could be the problem,if any?

Are you sure its from the tablet and not from dock?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app

yeah, you could be right. What do you think the problem is?

I have the exact same problem on my tf300 and optimus 2x if they are fully charged but still connected to ac.
I have always thought that this is normal.

I just randomly noticed it and wasn't sure if it was a hardware issue or something. Not noticed it before

so its only when u plug your tablet in?

I heard from crying charges in some other devices thread, but not from a crying tablet.

Yes, whilst it was fully charged. I'm not sure if it happens otherwise

It happens always for me when the tablet is fully charged and plugged

Why does it happen?
Seems like it's a bit common though so not too worried about it being a hardware fault.
Thanks for the replies

Asus Prime Roms

Just purchased my Asus transformer pad today and I LOVE it. Question is I'm most likely going to root it and I'm wondering if transformer prime roms will work? Not going to do anything till I know its okay.

Although the hardware it similar I would say no.
And because we still have a locked bootloader there is no chance.
You'd end up bricking your device!

Tablet + Dock Glitch

Hey guys,
I bought a tf300 + dock bundle on Tuesday and I absolutely love it. However, today at work I noticed that, when docked, the tablet would register random glitches and long presses, even when I wasn't touching it! At this point, I can either exchange it, or return it and get my money back. Before I do this though, I just wanted to do a quick survey on XDA to see if anyone else had this problem.
Thanks!
exchange da *****hhhh

Dead pixel?

How can I spot a dead pixel? There is a small black spot on my tablet which doesn't appear to be going away.
What is the cause also?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
Install this and try:Dead Pixel Test
The cause is mainly that there are made alot of screens and some have fault.. easy as that
Thanks, looks like it is a dead pixel. Its incredibly small but I think I will get it replaced or something.

If I try one of them dead pixel "fixers" which flash your screen different colours continuously, would it harm my tablet if i left it like that for about 5 or 6 hours?

Yeah it is. I sent mine off recently (I'm in the UK) and it took nearly 2 weeks. My problem hasn't even been fixed though so i'm gonna need to send it back unfortunately.
Hope you get your problem sorted

since its a problem with the dock do you think i need to send the whole unit or just the dock?
You could always ask them by contacting ASUS. I usually get a reply back the following day. I think they have a contact option on their website. I would assume you'd have to send both though

Screen not turning on.

So my tf700 screen won't turn on now. I have tried rebooting it several times, lettibg the battery drain then recharge it, cold booted it and still nothing. The back light will come on but nothing else. When I plug it in with a hdmi cable to my tv the picture displays. Any thoughts?

If the hdmi works but the screen is not it is probably a loose connection inside but I would send it ibn if you are under warranty j just to be safe.

+1, either the digitizer went bust or you have a loose connection somewhere. If you have warranty, send it in.

So since I'm not under warranty I should get a new one huh...

Depends if you like to tinker...
At this point you don't have anything to loose, so why not check ifixit.com for tear-down instructions. Best case scenario, you find a loose cable, worst case you replace the digitizer.
Other than that, it's selling it for parts, I'm afraid.... :crying:
