If I could humbly suggest one edit? I had a Rezound for months before getting the Evita. Many of the same issues applied prior to achieving S-OFF.
Flashing the boot.img from any ROM is only necessary if the kernel/firmware is different (ie from ICS to JB), right? Otherwise the boot partition remains the same?
I flashed CleanROM 4.5 without fastboot flashing the boot.img and have been doing fine...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
No, cr uses a old base. The newer roms have new kernels like 2.40 and 2.41, I mentioned it in my video. You can leave the stock boot.IMG if it was a older rom only. But I would use the one that comes with the Rom since most dev will edit them per Rom. And stock still has security on as well.

I went through the whole process of getting my token from the phone and it worked according to plan, however when i went to
sign in and get my unlock token, htcdev.com is lagging out, timing out, and erroring everywhere. I can get it to the point where it
comes up with the E-Mail cannot be sent error so I know my token is good. My question is, do I have to re-run the whole process
and get a new token when there site is back up, or will my token be the same?
Your token will be the same unless you change the cid.

IIRC, someone was was able to flash a boot.img via CWM....so S-Off isn't a crushing priority unless we want to change the radio or version of HBOOT....Still something to pursue....but not choking development.
CM9 is already in an early alpha phase....so when kernel source drops it should help provide data on the broken pieces (unless HTC just happens to leave out the parts we need).
Anyhoo, everyone is getting antsy because there are not breakthroughs happening every day now. You have to understand we are about 70%-80% already opening this entire phone to all of its capabilities that users expect with mature, heavily developed devices (CWM, TWRP, root, unlocked bootloader, a few great Custom ROMs, etc.). The last remaining 20-30%, mostly kernel source, should finish providing what all of us need to 'top it off' (CM9, AOKP, Custom Kernels, etc.).
Be patient, we've already gone through most of the hard parts ....just waiting on HTC now...
I was trying to port the Eu rom using a cm9 base and taking parts from the Eu rom, got stuck at a bootloop, you think i would be more successful taking the eu rom and swapping things out like kernel libs etc from the cm9?
I haven't been in this phone much, but kernel, libs, and some directories were key in porting miui V4.

Hey guys, just noticed this thread..I posted an updated link on twitter, if anyone can try it and give me a logcat of the Mic issue, that would be great. Okay so my device is the Inspire 4G, not Desire HD (small differences). I saw that there were some good working ROMs based off of Sense 4 and ICS. I THINK it was called IceSense. There were versions based off of Sense 4, 3.6, as well as 4.0A. I had 4.0A for a month, so it was fine, but what are the features 4 has and 4A doesn't? If it leaves out too much, how can I flash Sense 4(Non-lite) with my Inspire with the camera working? I understood that there was a way, but I need it dumbed down a bit...
Thanks in advance! PS, I'm not a complete rookie at this stuff, I just don't know as much as others about the more complex stuff.

Is your phone rooted and have you flashed roms before?
Sent from a dream.
Yes, I said it already. It's rooted and I've flashed 4 ROMs before. My favorite was one based off of the One V's firmware, the only thing missing was the camera because HTC didn't make ICS yet. The Desire S & Incredible S have already gotten it, so is there any way that we can use something from those devices to help fix the camera? I understood that it could be done, but more had to be flashed, and I didn't want to experiment with that.

i tried to install new ROM. It couldn't make a new tmp/update_binary to I rebooted to Fastboot. i think i accidentally installed a TEGRA 3 ROM....
Now my phone won't turn on, no LEDs come on.
HOWEVER, when plugged into my computer, the computer recognizes that something's been plugged in (with that du-doo) noise, but then quickly makes the (da-da-da) noise to inform me that the USB device isn't working.
Pwr+Voldown doesn't work
In Windows Device Manager I get Code 28 (wrong drivers) for some device called QHSUSB_DLOAD, but that might be something else.
Where do I go from here. I've searched for hours on this issue...

From what I know if you took the ota update then there's no work around into root/unlock bootloader/s-off as the update patched it up,so pretty much your stuck with the ota update with no root and anything else until someone can figure out another method

If you're on AT&T, no. Downgrading is possible, but you need s-off, and you need to root to get s-off. There is apparent root method for 4.1 on AT&T. One guy managed it on the x-factor exploit but no one else has been able to.
