Link2sd is installed and enabled for an ext2 partition (so use something like Mini Tool Partition wizard to format a first primary fat partition and a 2nd primary ext2 partition)

How change the keyboard layout (you have to be root and system mounted as rw)
Find your /system/user/keylayout/chacha-keypad-xxx.kl where xxx=your language
copy in replace mode this file to /system/user/keylayout/chacha-keypad.kl
Find your /system/user/keychars/chacha-keypad-xxx.kcm.bin where xxx=your language
copy in replace mode this file to /system/user/keychars/chacha-keypad.kcm.bin
Open this file with a text editor (I use rootexplorer) and change each key which is false : if your Z give a Y, go to the Z line and change it by Z (do it for each key which is a problem)
How install
This is a Clockworkmode backup, so unzip the zip a the root of your sd card, reboot in recovery and restore the backup

Is the ROM stable?? Or still in production??

This is a backup not a zip update.

could you pls make a screenshot of the free internal storage?
framework is about 31megs and the apps needed take 35-41megs too...which would last the user with something around 70-80 megs free space.
where to acquire the additional 20megs?
btw, the rom looks very close to stock to me

I am not going to restore again try it ? And just after the boot go to settings
Close to stock : yes (have you read the 1st line of my post ? This is my setup, not what I call a custom Rom )

My bad, didn't spot that important fact, backup....
This being spread across two sections is also confusing!

Can't get talk to sign in or market apps to update tho,

Maybe because I had this message yesterday and not today ...

[Q] Can't access internal storage on EB ICS

So I flashed EB's ICS ROM recently and I noticed that I can't connect to or view my internal storage on my computer or phone. I know this is usually listed as "USB storage" on ICS ROMs but I don't have anything. If I connect it to the computer it says connected as a camera and I can only see my external microsd but not my internal =/ can someone help?

This is possibly caused by a common problem with a couple if the earlier ICS Roms. The instructuins on mounting the internal sdcard are a little messed up. It can possibly be fixed by following these steps. I did not find this myself. I am summarizing and writing a step by step of somebody else's solution.
Here is a step by step I learned from the previous post in the eaglesblood rom ICS thread..
1. Use root explorer or file explorer.. open system folder
2. Scroll down to "etc " folder and open...
3. Scroll down to "vold.fstab" file..
4. Long press on the file and select "open with" then select "text editor"
5. When that opens look at the bottom of the file.. you will see a 9. (It is the only 9 on the page...) change that 9 to an 8
6. Tap menu select save... back out and reboot the phone... the file should now tell your phone how to accurately and consistantly view the sdcard.
Let us know how it went.... (this set of Instructions is for ICS Roms... GB roms didn't have this problem as far as I know.

Unfortunately it did not work. I followed the steps and nothing Still no USB Storage, it does say Internal Storage on the bottom but its nothing but a title with no content under it

I have this issue also. I tried to do this but my file is locked. How to I unlock to edit the 9 to an 8? Thanks!

someone had posted to install the lastest LG drivers in order for you to see
the files on ur pc...i know it worked for me...but for some reason it stopped working...Hopfully the next EB build 3 can maybe fix it

which app are you using to open the file?
long tap and you should get a menu with opitions

Well first off, mount as mtp.

I am using root explorer and it does say R/W at the top, but the file has a yellow lock symbol on it and it still won't let me edit, even after I long press and select edit text...thank you for your response!

i believe you can access your sd like a regular flash drive

I haven't had the chance yet, was checking eagerly all weekend! Will see if the update solves it...backing up my current release 2 now....and updating Titanium backup in preparation....love new releases!

Yes, but not your internal memory. Because of some low level access issues the dev won't support it. You will just have to use a file manager on your phone to access it. It should be understood mount/emmc and will be empty since obviously you haven't been using it

[Q] Android 4.2 + Cifs + JetAudio

I wonder if anyone here can help me with my little problem.
Basically I want to be able to play on my tf300t tablet music from a Windows network share
I rooted the tablet and installed a cifs kernel patch from this thread
[3 IN 1][ROM-THEME- STOCK KERNEL ][Stock Asus Firmware 10.6.1.15.3][27.04.2013]
I kind of can mount the network share now, but not inside the "/storage" path. When I try to mount it into storage, I get an empty dir.
The reason why I need the mount inside storage is that my player, JetAudio, only looks there for music.
I've read a number of threads about this problem on this forum and others, but can't figure out what to do.
I don't really need another long explanation of the problem but rather any working workaround.
I suspect that downgrading to 4.1 can help, but are there other options?

Are you trying to mount a ext. SD card?Is that the storage you are trying to mount?If your answer is yes I have the answer.Write back if yes and I will explain.

OK not sure then,I do know with jellybean 4.2 you can't mount certain things cause they changed stuff around with the system.Maybe if you look up Root folder mount in xda the developer over there can help you.If you want I can try to help but am heading to work now.I'll look up a few things on my break and get back to you later.

1. Install free version of JetAudio from GooglePlay.
2. Setup a Windows network share with some music in it.
3. Try to open music in JetAudio

im at work so when i get home tonight i will do and let you know,i am able to mount my folders with that app i have.I wont be home for a few hours but will do and write back.

[ROM][MULTILINGUAL][XPOSED] Lenovo A850 S121 ROW Open Source Edition

I have removed bloatware from the original rom. Also wherever possible replaced Lenovo specific applications
with open source ones. LED notifications work thanks to the integrated ButtonLED application.
You can select the SD card as the default storage
Instructions for installation:
First flash Linerty´s rom S116 or S121 (to double the amount of DATA space, ie. for better partitioning)
Then install this ROM via recovery (md5sum: 05ed1d5272ad2c80cf207587d4fc9fff recovery.img)
Alternative Download link
After first boot allow root permissions to ButtonLED and configure it for LED notifications (Except in the Lenovo A850 the led is green/led, the first option in autolocate)

The more info in Spanish is not a solution.
Me, as a user i already have a rom and i want to see why should i flash your rom before spending some time doing so...

After weeks of using and was really happy I have problem with text "insufficient storage..." when trying to install via Google Play.
In sysytem properties I have:
setting Default Write disk:
external storage
and next, spaces:
Internal Storage
Availiable: 9,30/29,71gb
Built-in
Availiable: 255/256mb
External Storage
Availiable: 9,3/29,71gb
cachefolder in root of the device is empty when iam tryingto check it via ESFileExplorer.
What should I do?

Unistall a big app and try again. If your app is installed than you do not have space where your apps are going... the question is "where" are they going....

If AVG was bigger than the app you are trying to install then something is messed up...
I looked again the spaces you provide and sth is not right...

Both internal and external are 30 GB? And you have 9.3GB free space on both? Your have twecked sth there...

I dont know, but I am near sure that I have similar situation from the beginning, when I changed the ROM. But that sounds strange from the begging also for me.
And the other sttrange thing - when I am tryiung to connect via MyphoneExplorer I cant get any records from phonebook, cal and SMSes.

I do not know that app... Syncronize your contact with google and backup your SMS with an app from the store.
Flash the phone... and your problems will be lost...
Always make a backup before anything... (a backup from recovery)

I believe that the most stable ROM is s121 from Linerty. Look it up on needrom.

I am using s121 from Linerty and it's not that stable as u might think. i got multiple force closed games,and the reknown " using SD card as default memory" is not working quite like that. i still got " low internal storage" errors. is this version more stable and using SD card as default memory correctly ?

I have completely no problems using Linerty's rom and if there is a rom with the most stable sd swap feature, that is linery's. I do not know what rom you are using or how you integrated it...

Internal Memory mod for QMobile Noir X900

Hello guys, once again I present you with a mod for our local QMobiles, this mod actually replaces your system files so you are able to use 4GB memory AND 8GB from V2, and are able to move apps to SD too!

Prerequisite:
1) A rooted phone
2) Custom recovery
3) This mod.
4) Brain
How to:
Boot into recovery
take a backup
Flash the zip
Factory reset
Reboot recovery
Restore /data partition
NOTE: You need to flash this mod once only, as this isn't inuded in system or data! So custom ROMs won't affect it

Plz anyone tell is this phone worth buying? I mean the specs mentioned are genuine? The pixels of camera shows that it has 8MP rear camera while they say it's 13MP shooter.

1. for custom recovery, can I use the method "CWM Touch Recovery For QMobile X900 High" mentioned here -> http://mgeeky.com/root-and-install-cwm-touch-recovery-on-qmobile-x900/
2. can you please post more details of step-3 as its a little confusing since I think there are more advanced function in the new CMW. A step by step guide would be very helpful.

1) That's okay
2) Install zip > chose from SD > locate to where your zip is > hit yes > follow next steps.

managed to install the 7gb partition but now when am accessing kingroot its saying that my phone is not rooted and when i try to root it, it fails... :S

Wipe the data.

managed to get the system working. Installed the stock rom and everything is working fine now - but strangely the partition size has decreased to around 4gb.
All is well now

kindly help me regarding q mobile x900
i followed every instruction but after rebooting nd installing recovery.img from mobile uncle tools i takes me back to stock boot mode i mean i am unable to install cwm in my qmobile x900 its 16gb variant

anybody can do this with my mobile. i had tryied alot but just wastage of time did not successed
