im super glad that root for 2.20 was achieved !! BUT people are not and will not take the time to READ and understand what rom for what phone . !!
its the word of Kevin Hart ..." its about to go down "
i already see people of people flashing CMW and one X roms :silly:
haha you're correct.
It's amazing how they're able to find how to root their phone but are unable to use the forum links at the top of the page to navigate back to the main part then onto development.
Coming . . oh they are already here.

No, its just a statement of fact. This exact thing happened when the 1.85 root was posted. Lots of people waiting to root, and not all of them take a little time to just research and learn before flashing things willy-nilly. Result is a flood of bricked phone posts, that could have been easily avoided.
OP could add a little more detail on what the exact pitfalls are (such as flashing a ROM or recovery for the international version) to serve as a warning, since the bricked phone posts are already starting. Otherwise, I don't see this thread as "arrogant".

sure.
in every portal, on every forum, there is always a pack of vicious n00b hunters who constantly call people out, make people feel uncomfortable/unwelcome, and instead of offering a helping hand, pull out their flame throwers. now, you, YOU, have taken this to a whole new level with an entire thread devoted to flaming nonexistent n00bs.
i think you all forget that at one point or another, before you made that shiny new account with fancy shmancy screen name, back in the ol' hero days, you too were a newb who forgot to search.
this thread is arrogant bc its useless. it serves no purpose other than to unite a bunch of tr0lls to get together and bash faceless people.

i can see the logic there. history repeats itself. but how is this thread or your comments supposed to stop, or alleviate the oncoming newbs. welcome to xda, land of the trolls, home of the newbs. get used to it. its like aids man. you cant stop it. the only prevention is abstinence. stfu and just accept it, because your piddly threads and ugly comments will do nothing to stop it.
to top it all off, even if every time you made a new thread bashing people it stopped 500 newbs from posting, at the end of the day, its not your job. its the OPs' and mods job to reprimand/edit.

Don't agree. Yes, we can post as many warning as we want, and there will still be plenty of people that don't bother to read them. But if a thread just makes 1 person take pause, and prevents that person from bricking their phone, I say its worth it.
But as I mention before, it would be more useful if the OP was edited to include more specific info and read more as a warning.

Post 2.20, you won't be able to flash an international ROM because doing so will attempt to write to the boot partition on the One XL, which is now write-protected (that was the previous problem, causing hard bricks). The install will just fail.

Redpoint has been instrumental in keeping track of all resources available to htc one xl http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237 and actually abstinence is not the only prevention, you need to spend a little time researching and reading (or ask questions first) before you act but unfortunately a lot of people want instant gratification without doing the leg work. It reminds me of a story about leading a horse and drinking water, sounds familiar ?!
A lot of us spend time answering questions and solving problems but it gets very frustrating when it is not READ out of lazyness and understandably it leads to a little ranting sometimes

It seems lately there has been alot of negativity towards people asking questions. There have been far too many replies to questions with people complaining about the question, and the complaint takes longer to post than the answer. If you don't want to answer someones question, don't open the thread!! This is supposed to be a friendly, helpful community. There will always be different levels of experience. There is not 1 person on this forum that has never experienced the panic factor when they thought they messed up their phone. Let's keep that in mind when someone asks a question without doing an extensive search first.
PS- You are not the phone police, who are you to say what someone should and shouldn't do with their phone?
Because at least 50% of posts asking for help have been answered multiple times... in multiple threads... by multiple people.
It gets annoying answering questions for people who really shouldn't be rooting phones to begin with... or who don't take time to do any research. Instead of taking the time to learn and read.
There was an excellent article the other day on android central... about rooting not always being the answer. I think alot of people should read it.
http://m.androidcentral.com/sometimes-root-isn’t-answer
You don't need to root to enjoy android. And not everyone is. But alot of people have no idea what they are getting into... then come here and expect it to be fixed because they didn't research.
Xda is a very helpful community... but everyone gets a little tired sometimes of answering the same questions.

Well yes that's true and all but the OP has a point when he said everyone has that panic attack and doesnt bother looking before posting I mean seriously when you think your really screwed over and may have just wasted $400 I know now I'd probably look first but when I first started out with my good ol G1 I flipped **** man! Its still bricked, sitting in a shelf somewhere. But I became more experienced as I moved from MT3G to MT4G so yea noobs to forums will always be an issue here I mean really in what forum aren't they? But its better to be supportive than criticize the new Guy with a broken phone by saying 'go look in this thread or this or this or this' I mean it just makes em feel bad. This is hypocritical since I know I have a few posts criticizing noons on here for posting but whatever it happens.

I agree with people generally needing to read up on as much as they can, especially when they're starting with android and/or rooting, but I will say there's something nice about having a chat about your particular situation. Reading an old thread often has useful information, but I could definitely see how a poster might need/want more specific, personalized advice that meets whatever issue they're having head-on. And often, I know I've been researching a particular issue, will find old threads on it, but still need additional clarification.
Obviously, people should be able to help themselves as much as possible - but in the end, that's why this is a forum, and not a tech blog, so that people CAN have discourse about common areas of interest and, hopefully, help one another out.

and you you keep on going and ignore the blatant warnings and crash and burn you shouldn't come here crying that you jacked something. On the same note we did not force you to do anything to your phone. No one from XDA held a Glock 19 and uttered the words " ROOT YOUR MUTHA EFFING PHONE OR WE KILL YOU".... you chose to do it willingly. And you should be man enough to say well i screwed my phone and i need to fix it.
9/10 people here will answer the question at hand. regardless of its "how do i root my phone", "how do i flash an image" or what ever else have you. but it someone has a low post count we will absolutely throw warnings out there. Android devices are mini Linux Computers. Now i do not claim to be a *UNIX guru, nor do i claim to be an Android guru, but i've seen enough people to brick their phones do routine things to know better......
I joined XDA because i was tired of the drama on Android Central and Cracberry's Android section. I wanted to find a good group of guys with similar interest, with similar phones and the exact same motto.
Someone once helped me with Android, and i feel i need to do the same.

and i found XDA, i lurked for a while and thought this a good place to be....
just because you see "negative comments" doesn't mean we don't have the best intent in our hearts. We just understand what can come with things are done incorrectly.
And to finish up to answer your question "where is the love", sometimes the best love one can show is tough love, it might not appear to be there now, but down the road.... well hind sight is always 20/20.
I've struggled conceptually countless times on these forums and people have been gracious enough to help me out, but the couple of times I thought I might have actually messed up my phone the first thought that entered my head wasn't "OH SH!T, let me write an incoherent post in the first forum i see and wait for my savior," it was "you idiot, you read about this possibility and now you have a worthless piece of electronics, maybe next time you won't be so stupid." I then researched my issue and, luckily, found a solution. You can learn how to do ANYTHING on the internet these days, that's the beauty of global communication. I just think most people get frustrated when someone asks another to take time out of their day to assist them when it is clear by their post that they didn't even take the time to help themselves, you know?
No one here has a problem with helping someone out; that is clear by sheer number of question posts that get answered daily- especially when people follow the forum guidelines and at least attempt to present their issue with as much detail as possible. It's the "SOMEONE HELP ME CLOCKWORK BROKE MY PHONE" posted in the development section that cause more trouble than anything.
Just like there were many threads complaining about people not answering questions or being hostile to newbs.
Here's the very basic explanation on how to not make an ass out of yourself and save us all from answering the same thing over and over again:
1. Read BEFORE you do something
2. Read and UNDERSTAND what you're about to do, again, BEFORE you do it.
3. If anything goes wrong - take a step back to think what you did, have a smoke/drink/whatever you do and relax. Search for an answer on similar situation, bet you money it has been answered before. If all fails, write up well-organized, informative post with all info (what you had, what you did and what happened) and be patient. 5 threads within 2 hrs will not get you any farther.
Good luck to all.
People dont mind helping or answering questions its just that no one honestly reads before posting. 9 out of 10 questions have answers within the forum.

Charle is 100% percent correct in his statement. In all honesty all the information for rooting, flashing recovery, custom roms are in the development section under the rom bible in the development section. The hard part has already been done for us.
I 100% agree that you should read ALOT before deciding to root. I read everything and watched videos for over a week before deciding to root.
The main point I was trying to make is that if you are sick of answering the same question, don't answer it. Just don't type anything. Hit the back button. There is no need for the rude remarks.
And Neidlinger I don't understand your post whatsoever. I don't understand it because you are one of the most knowledgable and helpful people on this forum. I don't know how many times you had to answer questions regarding bootloops with the wrong recovery, and every single time, you just answered the question. I honestly feel that more replies in the Q&A section should be just like yours.

I apologize, i'm at work and and got heated about something here and really shouldn't of posted that....and when i saw "where is the love", knowing how much i try to help people out around here... it just really bothered me....
you line made it sound like, if we have some one that pops and their very first post is "how do i root my phone" we should bow down and help them. With out throwing any warnings out. just here is how to do it and explain step by step how to.
First of all i will throw out warnings, i will never ward anyone away from doing what they want to do with their device. After all it's their money they are gambling with.
secondly when i bought my first android (mytouch3G) phone i bought with a stock recovery image and a working bootloader and i had to figure everything else from there. I had to learn quickly, if i wanted my phone up and running. So thanks for the props on being knowledgeable, but it was something i pretty much had to do. And people read on BGR, Android Central, or what ever popular bog site about XDA members did this and XDA members did that they jump on here and expect us to hold their hand. People have very well laid out threads on how do do certain things. The reason i treat others the way i do when it comes to problem solving is pretty simple. I had someone do the same for me. A higher up for T-Mobile that took the time and showed me how to do what i needed done. And that kinda what my idea of the Android community is. People helping people, for the fun and enjoyment of it.
with that being said....
With True_blue, Option94, faux123 not to mention another 1/2 dozen good developers and highly knowledgeable people that put things out in black and white, easy to understand English their should be no reason why so many of the same exact threads show up. You can type in just about any Android problem or request in Google and it'll lead you to XDA, and the thread in question. Just like the thread with the guy that just posted " how do i get 2.3, the nexus s variant on my phone"... step one should of been research in stead of starting a new thread....It's the laziness that bothers me. Like with programs like Super Manager and Root Explorer, people are to lazy to learn the ADB commands.... Clockwork ROM manager, people are to lazy to flash a recovery image. Or flashing a ROM go south... did you check the MD5sum? "nope, whats that"... it's just pure laziness that bothers me...
I understand 100% where you guys are coming from. I completely agree that things should be searched for first. I just think that the #1 priority should be helping the person out first, and then correcting. I just want it to be known that this is in no way at all coming from an experience that I had...I think my anger really started with that epidemic of E:/can't mount bs where everyone was like "hey idiot you can get into recovery, you aren't bricked." And now we know now that is not the case.

i totally agree with neidlinger on his points. I started with a G1, Mytouch 3g, mytouch slide, and now MT4G. I read everything i could get my hands on how to root and reread it again. If i still didn't understand something, then i would ask a question or search for it. Most of the posts i read nowadays, people want to be spoon-fed out of sheer laziness.
If the questions posed in these forums were even half as thought out as the comments in this thread, 95% of the snappy remarks would disappear. People want to know they are assisting someone who values that assistance. One or two sentences rarely creates that picture.
Ok, well I have completely jacked up my phone from where I updated using Odin..I flashed my phone through a vibrant rom or whatever and now it was in t-mobile, then I flashed it through a fasinate rom or whatever and now its in version. I am looking for the original Samsung Galaxy S Showcase rom or whatever I need to get my phone back to CS and to its orginal state. Can somebody help me?

I am not posting random ****, I thought the post was funny, so I responded as such. I shouldn't have mentioned the part about the spam but whatever.
And in response to the comment about why people install ROM's for other phones, yea it's not necessarily smart to do so, but for the most part these forums are not exactly noobie friendly . . .
I am not new to the world of linux, I have been a user of various distros on my personal machines and work servers since 2006. I am coming from the world of webOS, where I did a little development in my sparse spare time, webOS had a lot of promise, but did not have the community nor the rapid pace of development that android has, so I finally switched.
I have found that, through no intentional fault of the community members here, entry into the world of Android homebrew has been somewhat intimidating, mainly because of the terminology that you all use. I have looked, but still don't know what many of the acronyms stand for. It has a high "entry cost," which it probably should otherwise you would have every joe schmoe trying to flash their phones with various experimental roms. (well apparently they do that anyway) But perhaps a glossary of terms could be helpful somewhere for those of us that got to the party late but could still be of some help once we catch up).
And to the guy who started this thread: don't do something until you have read about it sufficiently enough to be sure that it will work. Going backwards is often alot more difficult than spending the time to do it right in the first place. I have learned this lesson the difficult way a number of times (I am not the most prudent person with stuff, i like to shoot from the hip and have shot myself in the foot a number of times)
So a glossary similar to this which is stickied in this thread?

I kind of like the fact that these forums are not dumb down it makes the learning curve steeper but I learn more that way not just the hows but also the whys. I spent two months reading this and other forums before I flashed my first ROM. I find the things I work the hardest for I learn the best and all the information is here sometimes you just have to dig for it. IMHO like
That's the spirit! Look at you! Nub of the year!
I was the same way honestly. I was very hesitant before ever doing anything to my phone first time around.
Haha its a first with android! I am more along the lines of coding firmware for PSN and jtagging xbox 360 consoles! I am a nub at this haha
I am in the same boat
I did the same thing to my showcase with the exception that I downloaded (from a different forum) learned my lesson, a odin file that was listed for cellular south showcase and when I flashed it it turned out to be for a Tmobile vibrant and now I only get errors when the modem bin tries to load in oden. Kinda hosed at this point!
Any Ideas on this would me much appreciated!!!

Enjoy their work... Thank them... Buy them a few beers... And if you don't like what they're doing go somewhere else!!!

Couldn't agree with you more! If you have issues with a ROM that make it "suck" switch ROMs or learn how to develop and make your own ROM.
The worst is all the people *****ing in the CM7 thread.
what's with all these stupid threads lately...it's like the days of our lives around here
i miss the days when threads were only technical in nature...

Then don't read the GENERAL forum. If you want threads of a technical nature stick to the DEVELOPMENT forum, it's not a hard concept...It's a bit ironic that you are calling other peoples threads "stupid"..
Well said.
I would like to lodge a complaint about people complaining.
I'm grateful for the work the dev,s do as i don't know crap about any of this.

Actually there are plenty of ways to have technical questions that have zero reason to be in the Dev subforum. Yet conversely there are always plenty of posts in General that are people having some issue and who are on a custom ROM.

I agree. How can you complain about something that's free, and is also take it or leave it. I give kudos to the developers for all the time they put into the builds, and then maintaining them.

Now, that's funny!
I noticed a lot of this behavior as of late. Imo, I think the devs should make the rooting process harder. Keep the children at bay so to speak.
I see it time and again, people asking questions that have clearly been answered in the OP or within the last few pages of a thread. They take no time to research anything. Most complain that the search utility is crap so why even try. I've never had problems with the search utility. It may not be the most robust tool but it works if you take the time to use it.
The demanding and complaining within threads has reached levels I haven't seen before on XDA. People need to remember that the devs write this stuff in their spare time. They are not obligated to do anything for you. You can make a request but that doesn't mean they will even consider it. There was a day when devs specifically put in the OP "This is my rom, you can make requests but I make this for me, take it as it is. Im just sharing witht he rest of you." But people have come to a point where they expect the devs to listen and do what they suggest.
In rooting your phone, you are voiding your warranty and taking extreme risks with your $500 Thunderbolt. In taking these risks it is assumed that you are a responsible person. Complaining about things or asking questions about things that have been clearly posted is not acting in a manner of a responsible person. Read fully before even starting the rooting process.
Just my opinion of course. But level of maturity on XDA has dipped to a level that is utterly absurd at times.

I agree about not having an easy way to root, and to some extent I agree about researching. I don't agree that this site has a functional search tool, when I search for something it brings up tons of unrelated stuff and if I add a little more to the search criteria to narrow the results it then says there's nothing matching my search, this is with both searching for threads and searching post within a thread. I was searching for something the other day and the post results didn't include any of the words I put into the search box. I do think people should look for an answer first but when there's 200 pages to go though it can take forever to find a simple answer, I think a faq post after the original post would work wonders for devs, then a lot of unnecessary post would be avoided but of course there will still be some people that are to lazy to skin through faq's.

Is this a QUESTION? Would it, maybe, be better off in the Q&A forum?
Also do yourself a favour and read before asking questions that are simple to find the answer to please.
Thanks for the helpful reply.
If I understand you right, you'd like to remove Sense. To do this, you need to "root" your Phone and install an ICS-only-Rom. In this thread you can find many different ROMs, even Jelly Bean-ROMs and an instruction on how to root your Phone.
Hope I could help you

Sarcasm - well done you prat. If the 'Thanks meter' is anything to go by, then I am helpful - but when people ask such stupid, pointless questions as the OP without bothering to do any reading or searching first then they deserve the reply I gave. ANd what is wrong with me telling the OP that he has posted in the wrong forum? If people actually bothered to read or follow the rules of XDA then it would be a much better, more civilised place.
Once again - people who don't bother to read run a much greater risk of screwing up their phone permanently because they don't understand what they are doing, why they are doing it or how to fix it if something goes wrong. XDA is not a support site for people to ask daft questions - it is a Developers site. I appreciate that it has become overly popular and now everybody feels they have a 'right' to root their phone with no issues and a full expectation to treat the people on here as free tech-support, but that is not the reality of the situation.
If you have a problem with me then take it to PM and we will deal with it there, otherwise wind your neck in before your head gets taken off.

I don't have any problem with you, I'm only trying to say that you sometimes are a little bit uncomprehending with people that don't know so much as you. It isn't a matter of whether people are new here or uncomprehending - it is a simple matter of following the rules of XDA. Search before asking questions is one of the first, if not the first rule - yet nobody seems to bother doing it anymore.

You're quite right - he didn't like the answer because he doesn't like the rules. That doesn't mean that I am wrong to point it out to him.
Maybe we should apply the same attitude in society as a whole - I can just go out and break whatever laws I want, and if I get arrested I'll just tell the cops that I don't like the rules.
Simon is right here. Anyone wanting to root their phone, must at least take the pain to understand the process and the risks involved rather than jumping into flashing straightaway.
The problem is everyone is just too lazy to read and gather information and knowledge.
In fact everyone who has been on this forum for a while would have already spent quite some time reading about stuff before jumping into it.
As the warranty of Desire S has gotten over for a lot of people, we are seeing some super noobs around here.
Tapatalked from Desire S running Andromadus
How i root my phone was, i htcdev unlock, didnt know after this i could root my phone, i went straight to s-off it, bump into error 155, pull my battery a few times, stucked not at htc logo, but a red exclamation mark. bump into more issue, slept late, in the end i manage to root.
thank God i didnt brick my phone in the process. it was less than 3 months when i did that, and now i am a bit regretting it, as i unlock using htcdev and voided my warranty.
Firstly i'll admit this may come off as a rant, but i will be making some valid points that i believe need to be addressed
Secondly, i really don't care if anybody finds this offensive because well points need to be made and sometimes they have to be bluntly made.
Thirdly, i'm sure many of you will agree with me on these points.
Fourthly, @Mods i understand this may come off a bit harsh to some people but again things need to be said.
Finally, please enjoy this read
Well here's the story of how i ended up writing this thread, ever since the Galaxy S3 came out many of you probably noticed that i was constantly helping people every single day, basically answering the same questions day in and day out. For a while i was fine with that, but the past few months i've almost ceased posting entirely, why you ask? Because answering the same questions everyday when their are plenty of stickies, and plenty of threads already asking those exact questions just got tiring and frustrating. Its very simple to search the forums as well as google, and to post a thread asking about a problem that can be answered by simply looking 1 to 5 threads down is just laziness and not needed. I understand people want answers quickly, but sometimes where you post these issues becomes an issue as well.
Issues #1: READ THE ORIGINAL POST (OP)
Example A: Bajee11 brought rootbox to our phones, and now he's closed his thread. Why? Because people couldn't just read the original post and keep non-development talk out of his thread.
Thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134052
If you read his original post right below the downloads section is a Non-development | Discussion | Support banner in big bold letters with a link to where non-development talk should be discussed, simple enough to read and understand. Its not hidden away at all, so their should be no reason why somebody can't see it.
What happened? Somebody flashed the i9300 (european) rom onto their i535 (verizon) phone. And essentially bricked the phone (wouldn't boot up) and that user posted about it asking for support. (ALL posts in their have since been removed so i can't show them to you but please take my word for it)
At this point, support should not be asked in the developers thread when he's stated not to post non development stuff in his thread.
But that's now what happened, people started helping him which is nice to do, but again in the wrong place. And posts continued which clogged up the thread and made things more difficult. Eventually the developer asked that it be stopped and taken somewhere else so that his thread wasn't clogged up with that junk, and this is what happened.

Bajee11: Dude, this is my thread so I expect the rules to be followed. I have over 20 threads to maintain and I don't want to come back here for every single post when it's not development related. You guys have no clue how hard it is to track bugs when users don't follow any rules and specially when you got several devices to maintain. Not only do you not know what a development thread is, you even take on me for pointing out this not the right place for bricked phone discussion? This is why XDA has different sections for these kind of things and users like you should learn that. Anyways, closing thread.

Somebody goes and decides to challenge him instead of being respectful and taking NON ROM DEVELOPMENT talk somewhere else, it could've easily been dealt with in PM's, or searching the forum, or help me god making yet another thread about it.
This user that had an issue could've solved his problem by simply looking at this sticky thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2079399
Why is this a problem?
Well quite frankly the people that were using the Rootbox rom now have to sit, wait and wonder whether support will continue for D2VZW or if they should move on, just because some people couldn't read the OP and follow the simple requests, and had to feel the need to then challenge the OP instead of just respecting him.
Oh but that only applies to one rom my rom is fine
Have you ever tried to figure what bugs are in a rom only to be forced to read a million posts that aren't related to that rom at all but instead somebody doing something stupid resulting in user error not rom error? I know i have, its so frustrating to have to skim through 20 pages when in reality if people could keep things where they belong we wouldn't have that issue. Once you flash something that's not stock on the rom, ANY BUGS that occur are not the roms fault, because their is no way of knowing whether whatever you flashed caused it or not.
Flash a different kernel, then have x,y,z errors? Post in the KERNEL thread about it, i guarantee you'll get more kernel support their than in the Rom thread. You could make a simple post in the Rom thread and say "hey guys i flashed X kernel and now Y isn't working, just letting others know" Bam end of story, its simple, alerts other users and keeps thing clean.
Okay so that's one post but i see a million of them, okay well lets say User A posts that, then users B-Y post irrelevant nonsense then user Z posts the same thing as A, that's why you see it a bunch. Because B-Y or a combination had irrelevant information in their posts.
Solutions:
Option 1: I realize this is hard but please people have some respect and self control and keep posts where they are relevant. Or maybe the mod's should just start warning/giving infractions to people that can't obey the rules and have some damn respect when a developer asks you to please take business somewhere else.
Option 2: Instead of cluttering up the development thread, go make some thread in Q/A even though that'll go against my second issue it'll be better than clogging up relevant rom information/development, that users want to see. I'm sorry but if you brick your phone flashing something that's not meant for your phone that your own damn fault for not reading what you're download and flashing.
Option 3: If you can't read the OP then you shouldn't be rooting your phone. Honestly folks its not hard to read the OP, its their for a reason, not for you to skip down to the downloads link, flash the rom, and then say "X and Y are missing" when in the OP it clearly states they aren't there. And what do you know that's one more useless post.
Time for me to take a breath...
Issue #2: Not using the search function
I realize this may be hard for people to understand but its their for a reason, not to just look pretty. Its sole purpose is to try and keep things clean and help users to find helpful information. How many of you use google search everyday? i know i do, probably over 100 times a day and its very helpful, so i KNOW that you other users have used a search engine before, so why not use the one on XDA? Its not rocket science and its got plenty of options to help you narrow stuff down.
Hell even before you post a thread, it'll automatically search for relevant threads related to your title.
Notice: When you enter a thread title the system will search for similar threads which have already been posted. That should help you to find answers.
Click to collapse
Now tell me are you blind, or do you choose to ignore it? I'm guessing its the second one. Or maybe people are too lazy to just read the titles of threads, i guarantee you whatever issue you are having somebody else has had and already got an answer for it. Obviously we can't force people to use it, but please people, google is your friend, the search bar is your friend.
Solutions:
Option 1: Up the post requirement for development sections, i know i know this probably will be hated but its clear that it's needed. People still can't seem to just get it right anymore. Maybe if they have to spend a little more time actually using the forum they'll actually start to realize all these helpful things around them.
Option 2: Can we just start banning people? haha i kid i kid. But seriously, can we give Rom developers the right to edit posts in their respective threads, so if they deem something as pointless, then bam deleted
At this point i'm out of breath and tired from staring at the screen.
But i'll leave with this 99% of errors are user errors not rom errors. Yes that's right i'm blaming the users, because hey its your fault for messing something up. I flash rom's everyday and yet i don't have these crazy errors that others have, but hey i'm flashing stuff that's meant for my phone People really need to stop being dumb and start reading the OP it contains so much information, i swear some of you will flashing anything even if in the OP it states "THIS WILL DESTROY YOUR PHONE" and guess what, you'll flash it anyways because you're too lazy to take ONE minute to read it. You could read while making your nandroid backup, oh hey that's a great idea And when you have an issue, just use the search function.
I understand we were all noobs at once, but still... like i said, most issues are user error.
TLTR:
-Please read OP's
-Please use the search bar
-Please post issues in their respective threads
-Please don't post irrelevant nonsense in development threads, that's not the place for it.
-Please if you flash anything not stock with the rom, don't blame the rom.
-Please post rom issues in rom threads, and kernel issues in kernel threads.
-Please if you do something stupid, keep it out of the rom/kernel thread.
-Please read stickies, they contain more information than your heart desires and will help you in the long run.
-Please try and understand where i am coming from
Oh and again, i don't care if i offended some of you.
