Flashing back to stock AT&T rom? - HTC Inspire 4G

Got a galaxy s 3 so I want to flash back to a stock rom. I see the stock ruu on the htc website, but It mentions using htc sync but I don't have that option since I'm running a JB rom. How would I go about flashing this back to a stock rom? It's doesn't need to be s-on or unrooted as I'm just throwing it on eBay.

You have the option to download the .exe version of the RUU in the HTC site. Flash that from fastboot USB and you will be ok.

Old firmware

Hi guys, where can i get the old firmware? I flashed the new firmware to install the new ICS 4.0.3 Sense rom. I didn't like it, so i restored my old ROM. And now i keep getting random reboots which i never get before.
I'm on stock XE rom after flashing new firmware and no problems.
HTC Sensation 4G with Beats Audio
I'm on Miui.us latest version.
Try downloading the orgional rom for your phone and flashing it using the ruu exe file. This will restore the phone back to the orgional bootloader and radio and rom!
Can i just flash the PG58IMG.zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300

When we flash the RUU...does it remove Root? I installed a custom ICS ROM to try but didn't like it, so I did a NAND restore, but I think the firmware was still updated to the one that was needed to do the ICS, and I find the battery is draining quickly. So I would like to revert back to where it was.
I had though a NAND restore will restore everything including the HBOOT version and the radio...but guess not? So should I just do a RUU thing then?
Thanks

I think the pd58img ur referring to is for CWM not the firmware or radio which is what ur looking for. If you want complete retail stock then find the gingerbread 2.3.4 RUU. If ur looking for 2.3.4/5 customer roms the just flash the rom u want. GB works fine with its firmware. Backwards compatible.
The situation have been getting worse and worse everyday. Now, I couldn't even use my phone for 2 minutes without it rebooting itself. I have tried different ROMs with the same result. And i have already flashed the latest T-mobile firmware which i got from this thread.
And I'm sure its the firmware that's causing the problem. Because the first time booting into android after flashing the ICS firmware, the phone froze during the boot screen.
I'm running
HBOOT- 1.23.0000
RADIO- 10.11.9007.15_M

RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.50.531.1 error 152

Can someone help? I'm getting error 152 image update when I run RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.50.531.1 on my phone. I have SuperCid, s-off, and was running a gingerbread rom,but I'm stock on the HTC black logo with the exclamation marks on the corners. Doing some research, I did not find a solution. I can't boot to bootloaders or recovery and I need my phone real bad. What can I do now? Thank you!
Are you using any Custom Recovery like ClockworkMod or 4EXT Recovery ?
If so you have to revert back to stock Recovery.
I use this method to get stock HTC Recovery back [GUIDE] Get Stock Recovery/Install OTA Updates without losing data.
But I am not sure about SuperCID either you have to revert it back to. But make sure make a backup of your phone first.

Super cid isn't a problem, leave it, custom recovery doesn't matter either.
Are you s off? RUU will only work if you are s off.

Yes...s-off. I was on ICS with firmware 3.32, then I went down to hboot 1.17 and flashed a stock gingerbread rom. Flashed fine (so i was back on gingerbread). Sinse I had hboot 1.17 and a gingerbread rom fully functional, I wanted to revert back completely stock and thats why I ran the RUU 1.27. But no luck. You know what's crazy...that after hours of trying to run RUU 1.27, 1.29 and 1.50 (which none worked), I downloaded the latest ICS Europe RUU and the sucker flashed all the way! It didnt boot, but at least I was able to boot into bootloaders. That way, I was able to flash thru bootloaders recovery, hboot 1.27 and an ICS rom again! Now I'm back with a working phone but dealing with the fact that I cant go back to stock. Crazy, ha? Thx anyways. Out of thousands of members with knowledge about my problem, ONLY you responded. Thank you!
Sensation forum, thx!!!

Do I need to have SS-on to be able to use stock roms?

So I am using a custom rom cygon on my phone and it is very buggy with me. I want to go back to stock version of the HTC sensation stock rom, and then when ICS comes out I am hopping I can just use the official update for it.
So my question is can I:
Flash stock T-mobile rom
Update phone normally after without messing with SS-OFF (unrooting my phone)?
Yes just flash the stock Rom via RUU. You will want to use the RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.50.531.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_rel" RUU from here. This will have you set to get the official OTA for the TMOUS HTC Sensation 4G when T-Mobile finally pushes it out.
It does not matter about S-off or S-on when it is a Stock ROM.
no
you can flash without s-on, if you unfurtunatly have s-on and wont to use a rom with a kernel mod you can use last version of 4ext toouch with smart-flash.

Rooted and S-OFF Tmobile stock rom. How to get ICS?

ClockwordMod Recovery v4.0.1.5
Android version 2.3.3
HTC sense 3.0
Software version 1.29.531.2
Kernel 2.6.35.10-gb7a86da
Can anyone give me some instructions or link on how to upgrade to the latest USA T-mobile ICS Rom?
Thank you.
Same here. I've read so many threads, I'm confused as to which procedure to follow...
I have:
Android 2.3.4 with Sense 3.0 (Stock Tmobile ROM)
HBoot: 1.17.1111
ClockworkMod: 5.0.0.8
Could some post the steps to install the stock TMobile ICS onto the rooted phone?
First of all you have to get rid of CWM to get OTA to install.
In this case you have to back up everything and flush T-mo RUU. It will bring your phone to stock condition with HTC recovery. Then go to Settings and check for HTC updates.
S-OFF does not matter. ICS installs fine with S-OFF.
Here where you can find T-mo RUU: Thanks to original poster!
I saw 3 files on that link to RUU. Which one to use to flash?
What do I have to backup from the current phone?

This is the link to RUU: LINK
Back up everything you use, contacts, apps, oh.... I especially backed up my CoPilot... Whatever you think you like, Angry Birds???? LOL Especially if you beat a lot of levels, then back up data.... won't need to start from scratch...LOL
Emails, SMS/MMS... oh well..what you care about. Use Titanium Backup.
Don't forget your Google account, so you won't need to create new one. As you flash RUU yer phone gonna be at point 0.. You'll have to go through initial sign in and so on....
Good luck!!!
Thanks to T-Macgnolia for the RUU!!!
That link goes to the Gingerbread RUU.
Is there a way to install a TMobile ICS update without using the OTA update?
Like update firmware and then the ROM or something???
I read several pages here, but I'm still uncertain what to do.

Oh... well.....
What can I say...... You have to be on stock GB ROM in order to get ICS OTA update.
And yes.... Steve0007 posted rooted version of T-mo ICS update. You might try to flush that one.
I dont mind if its not OTA, I just want to update to ICS. I think the link I listed above is to the TMobile ICS file, but I'm not sure how to install it.

Here's what I did:
I downloaded the official RUU for T-Mobiles Sensation 4G and flashed it. And bam, ICS on my phone. It does wipe the phone so backup your stuff. I did take out my SD card so I don't know if it touches it or not. Buy its that easy. And I'm still S-Off by the way

No the RUU does not do anything to the SD card, it only deals with the NAND memory of the device.
For those of you out there that do not know what an RUU is please read the quoted post below
T-Macgnolia said:
RUU stands for ROM Update Utility. This is a utility that is run via a .exe file that is used to flash a stock ROM, stock radio, stock splash screen, stock recovery, and stock firmware of a device. The utility performs a cleaning of the NAND memory of the device before flashing the included stock software. So a RUU is often suggested as a way fix common problems and to unroot a device. The utility also runs a set of checks on a thea device before flashing such as CID (Carrier Identification), battery level check, and firmware version check.
A custom RUU is does the same as a RUU but it has been modified to not run the CID check and sometimes other security checks. You can flash custom ROMs, different radio versions, splash screens, and firmwares. You can even use a custom RUU to flash each of these individually.

[Q] S-Off, Rooted Sensation on GB firmware - Looking to go to stock ICS rom

Currently running s-off, rooted, on a GB rom. I'm looking to get as close to stock as I can, I don't mind if the phone stays s-off, I just want the stock ICS firmware and rom.
I should be able to flash the RUU of the ICS OTA and get the complete rom, firmware and everything, right? I know I will lose root, but that doesn't bother me right now.
Can anyone link me to the OTA ICS RUU if that is the route to go?
