Long story short, this is a Stock Toshiba ROM rom with a ton of tweaks applied. Yes I know, it's Froyo, but this rom is a good performer, can do almost everything and has the following plus points:
- All is in working condition, including SCO over bluetooth, IR Remote, Hardware Keys and so on
- Almost no SOD. I struggled a lot to achieve this result, but now I can say that this rom is behaving like any other Tegra tablet on the market. SODs are very rare here and the device sleeps like a child.... (As a side effect, you have to push the power button two or three times to make the device wake up)
- Easter Egg: Selecting Backup from the Privacy menu in Settings, the rom will reboot to recovery....
Feedbacks are welcome.
DISCLAIMER: This ROM comes with NO warranty. If you brick your device, don't blame me, I'm only experimenting with my phone and sharing the results with you, mates!
The widgets in the screenshots are SiMi Clock (clock & weather) and Android Pro Widgets (with modern ICS theme). They are NOT included in this ROM but they are available through the Google Play Store
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP your actual rom and your data before installing anything!!!!!!
- I assume you have CWM recovery installed on your tablet. If not, flash the CWM 3.0.28 recovery before installing this rom and format all the partitions if you are coming from CM10/JB roms
- Copy the file you have downloaded "as is" (don't try to extract the files contained in the .zip archive!) in the root directory of your SD Card.
- Boot in CWM, select "Install zip from SD Card", then choose the .zip archive you have previously copied and wait until the process ends.
- Reboot your device and enjoy your new rom.
- This rom installs CWM 3.0.28

P.S. This rom WIPES your SYSTEM, DATA and CACHE PARTITIONS!!!
KNOWN ISSUES:
-None so far. Sometimes some SD card make the system hang on boot, so remember to extract your SD card on reboot! (you can put it back in when the boot is finished...)

CM10 is not directly comparable: some people need a fully working rom (IR remote, SCO audio over bluetooth, etc.)
So, this rom is aimed to solve some problem for some kind of people.
On the "faster" point: are you sure?
You are comparing a 1.4 Ghz kernel with a stock 1.0 Ghz one, it's unfair.
This rom wins hands down in all speed tests only due to the OC kernel....but it is faster!

Here comes something I don't understand: if you did not test it, how can you write a review on it?
Positive:
1. Good performance
2. Battery life.
3. Flash player.
4. Added some useful functions.

All true, indeed, but nothing more besides what you can argue by reading the OP, huh?
Negative:
1. Android 2.2.
2. YouTube app is hard to use.
3. Text selection, copy&paste.
4. Status bar low functionality.
5. HD videos?(Don't remember)
6. SD card SOD.
Click to collapse
1. Yeah, that's declared in the OP
2. YouTube has now the same inteface among Android releases....Try the included app!
3. A simple keyboard with cursor keys helps a lot here. I personally use Smart Keyboard Pro, but there is a wide choice on the Store
4. Elaborate, please....With j4velin Notification Toggle and Button Savior you have the same functionality of an ICS/JB/CM9/CM10 status bar....Try it, you'll be amazed!
5. HD Videos are working flawlessly (with the tegra 2 platform limitations, i.e. 1920x1080 only main [email protected] level HW decoding)
6. SOD what?
You could help improving CM10 on Folio 100, like adding new stuff and fixing minnor issues.:good:
Still, good work!

All the roms I have built here on XDA are based on stock stable releases (or rock solid CM final releases) to grant users the maximum available compatibility and ease of use without bugs. This is not a rom for pioneers, it's a rom for people needing a solid performer. CM10 is now in experimental alpha stage (although I'd define it an advanced beta stage thanks to the great developers that are involved into the Folio100 CM10 project) but this is another story...
Bye

Yes, Topogigi can you not help DerArtem with the CM10 rom? Maybee you can add cornerstone on your rom and on the CM10 rom. This is a thing that a lot of peoples will see on our folio.

I agree, but all this useful info should be included in OP because:
1. Its based on FolioMod and you must write what new is incuded and fixed after that many years.
2. Android 2.2 is already fast on its own, increasing speed and adding tweaks is minnor.
3. Added apps didn't amazed me.
4. I'll test it for sure.
5. Include something "new" to your ROM, because it same FolioMod 1.4 just added nice effects.
I will post full feedback & continue your ROM.

1) This rom id not based on Foliomod, it's based on last Toshiba official release. Foliomod 1.4 has only the libraries from it.
2) Network Location does not work on FolioMod 1.4 (guess what? here it works....)
3) Initial Setup Wizard hangs on Foliomod 1.4, and it asks you to slide a keyboard out (our device has no physical keyboard) and here it works flawlessly
4) Google Play Services do not install on Foliomod 1.4 (mismatched signature of googleservicesframework.apk) and here it installs properly
5) You can't reboot to recovery in Foliomod 1.4 and here you can
6) No loop mount points here, while foliomod mounts the databases on a loop mount point for faster db access... but, guess what? In this rom you get the same database access speed without the risk of getting data losses if the device hangs unexpectedly
7) No CPU Spy support on Foliomod 1.4. This is the first Folio rom with CPU Spy support
8) No CIFS Support on Foliomod 1.4 while here you get CIFS and UTF-8 support
9) No TUN/TAP..............etc. etc.
10) No OC/UV...............etc. etc.
11) No enhanced deadline scheduler.................................etc. etc.
12) On Foliomod you have frequent unwanted screen wakeups while on this rom..............etc. etc.
13) On Foliomod you experiment network issues after wakeup while on this rom......etc. etc.
14) On Foliomod you experiment frequent SODs while....................etc. etc.
I can continue for a while on but frankly I am bored because ALL these infos are on the OP if someone takes care of reading it completely.
I called this rom Foliomod because I do respect all the efforts Dexter made for making this device a functional device. This does not mean I copied his rom only making it more attractive. You got the point now?
Regarding speed, I do not want to resemble Monsieue De La Palisse stating that a 1.4 Ghz Froyo rom is 1.4 times faster than a 1.0 Ghz Froyo rom, but you forced me to put that in evidence.
All added apps are in /data. If you don't like them, you can uninstall them with a few touches.
That's all, I'll answer other question if you will be so kind to test the rom for real. I put in it some weeks of hard work to reverse engineere, debug, code, patch and so on: testing it will cost you less than 1/2 hour, so.....

DerArtem and Nopy are very skilled developers, trust me. If they eventually will need help on a specific issue/bug/problem, I'll cooperate for sure. But I'm developing roms for 4 different devices ATM, and I have little if not less spare time to dedicate to another project. I'll actively support this rom for sure and I'll take care of feedbacks and suggestions. But this will cost me time and time is the real richness nowadays....

This is an excellent work Topogigi. Thank you for the time you spent there.:good:
I was convinced we could improve the stock rom but could not myself, especially lack of time and knowledge. I am glad that you have done.
(I speak here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655050&page=2)
I installed your rom from the alpha 4 CM10 with CWM 3.0.2.8, formatting partitions and flash file formatsd of DerArtem, but it did not work and I had no access to the SD card internally. I also lost access to recovery, I flashed using fastboot.
So I installed CM7 to unlock the internal sd (erase sd card in settings) and reinstalled TG FolioMod.
(To unlock the internal sd is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639690)
Improvements are superb with lots of good ideas. For the moment, I have not encountered any problems and the rom is very smooth, continuous testing and I installed some games well greedy and I joined your rom to work on our little Foliowiki.
Congratulations and sorry for my English.

Thank you for all the information and explanations. Will keep this ROM in mind.

Hi,
my ext sd card is not working
there are known problems?
how I could get them back to work?

No known issue about external SD, besides the caveat contained in the OP
Try this way:
1) copy all the contents of the SD card on a PC
2) format it with FAT option
3) Put the SD card back into the Folio and check if it's correctly recognized
4a) If the SD card is recognized, restore all the content from the PC
4b) If the SD card is not recognized, please try with another: if the new one is not recognized you have a faulty SD card slot on your Folio.
Please report if the above solution solves your problem.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback and your detailed instructions. I will try to make Huawei dongles work in my next release, alongside with NTFS r/w capabilities....

Thanks a lot for your rom, i will try it.

[ROM] 08/09 MacLite v0.8 Froyo Sense modular - DualGovernor - odexed - no buggy A2SD+

Updated to version *** MacLite v0.8 baremetal - modular *** - clean and lean, fastloading fully odexed Froyo Sense ROM without unnecessary bloat. Factory Reset save, unlike almost every other custom ROM out there and battery optimized as never before . This ROM implements a new CPU governor implementation based on screen on/off status that should theoretically be more responsive and more power efficient. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. More info here: [INITSCRIPT] screenstate_scaling - switch CPU freq governor on screen state
Note: v0.8 includes now undervolting and some fixes and updates to v0.7/v1.0. If you still use an older release please update to v0.8 to benefit not only from the battery improvements .
Version 1.0 added. This is a full ROM, unlike the modular version, that includes all the improvements of 0.7 and adds the AppsBundle package from posting #2. This is for all people who have problems with installing the modules, and it gives you something similar to a full featured official ROM, with all applications updated to the latest versions. Download link at the bottom. Development however continues with the modular MacLite version.

Dear all,
I'm a member in these forums for quite some time, on the reading side most of that . But I think I could at least give a bit back to all the great folks here in the forum. Here comes the latest MacLite build so far. I've simplified and modified quite a number of things, still leaving the ROM as original as possible, while adding hopefully valuable features and performance improvements. This ROM takes ideas and contributions from many different cooked versions and information + help in the forums. Full credit goes to all of the original authors and their particular contributions. Too many to remember and not to forget anyone. Thank you all!

MacLite is based on Paul's official Modaco FroYo "original" ROM (not R8), but is re-rooted and updated to Superuser 2.3.5 + latest busybox 1.17.1. This version goes a step further, to bare metal . If you know nlite for WinXP, it's that what this is for Froyo Sense. Stripped to the core, fully odexed, as a basis for individual configurations.
The following changes and features were included:
- Automatic full wipe during installation to prevent any problems, make a backup first!
- APN fix (should find and set your APN automatically out of the box)
- Kernel tuning (Auto-Task Killer with lowmem-optimum settings)
- Kernel tuning (vm settings)
- Perflock disabler
- Interactive and Powersave Schedulers
- Implementation of FloHimself's screen on/off governor, if on, ondemand with slightly reduced max CPU freq. (800MHz for more battery juice), if off powersave with 245MHz only. Thanks! NO SetCPU required anymore and DO NOT USE IT!
- Untervolting enabled with conservative settings. Thanks iscaela
- Changed media_profiles.xml for better quality
- Terminfo
- Wifi fix for streaming in sleepmode
- Bluetooth fixes for connectivity/pairing
- New framework-res.apk with B&W Battery Indicator/Percentage
Removed space and battery wasting applications/widgets are (see posting #2 below on how to restore):
- AppSharing
- DCSStock
- Facebook
- FriendStream (broken since Twitters change to OAuth)
- FriendStreamWidget (broken since Twitters change to OAuth)
- Flickr
- Footprints
- FootprintsWidgets
- GenieWidget
- Google Search
- Google Talk
- HtcFacebook
- htcmailwidgets (do not work with the new Email client, use app instead of widget)
- install_flash_player (latest Flash player included instead)
- Learn More
- Maps (replaced, see below)
- NewsReader
- NewsReaderWidget
- PDFViewer
- Quickoffice
- Sim Toolkit
- SocialNetworkProvider
- Stocks
- StockWidget
- Teeter
- Twitter (broken since Twitters change to OAuth)
- TwitterWidget (broken since Twitters change to OAuth)
- VoiceSearch
If someone knows in where the default Picture Frame, not HTC photo frame, is hidden, please let me know. That is still something redundant.
The following were previously added applications in /data/apps, they are removed from the baremetal ROM now and are listed again as space-saving fully odexed apps in the second posting in this thread:
- 3GWatchdog
- adbWireless
- Gallery3D
- Maps (latest brut version 4.4.0 added to /system/app again )
- MarketEnabler
- SpareParts
- Y5Battery
The default Mail.apk application was previously replaced by Improved Email. In v0.8 I added the default mail client back as Improved Email has problems with Exchange accounts and push mail updates.
The only app additions to the baremetal system are the odexed SuperUser 2.3.6.1 (update) as well as the final Adobe Flash Player.
Previously in the data/local partition, and thus not surviving a factory reset, the following configurations are now part of the system again (and will be made upgradeable in posting 2)
- AdBlock (hosts)
- DNS settings (resolv.conf, set to Google DNS) and
- APN configuration (apns-conf.xml)
Added goodies, the stock HTC wallpapers are replaced by the fantastic background pictures from NeoPhyTe's ROM, thanks for that! I made them still a bit smaller saving even more precious space.
142 MB free without SD card and buggy A2SD+ implementations .
This ROM is one of the few that is fully odexed, meaning it will have a lot of free space without a SD-EXT partition and should run a bit faster than all the deodexed ones. It does *not* include A2SD+ as this reportedly causes SD card corruptions with Froyo for EXTx and FAT32 partitions when connecting to a PC.
It also does not include a lot of things that nobody really needs but are nowadays included in almost every ROM. To name a few: Wifi 802.11n (uses more battery), OpenVPN, CIFS, EXT4, CFQ scheduler, bash (does a normal user really need these?!).
There is intentionally no configuration tool, the idea is KISS (keep it simple and stupid) which is easy and usable for most normal users.
This is a very clean lean build as a baseline ROM for individual additions; hopefully stable and speedy, your feedback is welcome. If you have SD card corruption issues, please give it a shot and feedback if it solves the FAT32 corruption.
Simple Installation:
For rooted devices only, flash with Amon-RA or ClockworkMod Recovery. Do not create a swap or EXTn partition (whole SD card formatted as FAT32 only). No wipe necessary, this will be done automatically. Backup your data first.
Please follow these detailed steps:
1) Start phone in recovery mode with Amon-RA
2) Partition the SD, no swap, no EXTn, all FAT32
3) Wipe data, cache, Dalvik
4) Switch to USB mode
5) Copy all the packages to the flashcard (or v1.0 only for full install)
6) Flash them all, starting with MacLite_vX.X.zip
7) Reboot and go through the normal setup wizard
8) Voila
Please make sure you update to a Froyo radio too. Some people report high battery drain with the latest 5.23 version with 3G. I therefore recommend using 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2.
Have fun!
Mac
...and, if this one still screws your SD card, buy a different brand
Download:
I don't intend to create a new release with pointless fixes every other day, although they have 0.x numbers the downloads are stable working releases that should keep you going for a while
v0.8 http://www.multiupload.com/9U8PV07Y3B Modular Version
v1.0 http://www.multiupload.com/BVNXRU9EBI Full Version (MacLite v0.7 + integrated AppsBundle) - v1.0 is not yet updated to v0.8 base which is newer!
To update a previous version (v0.6 or v0.7) please flash v0.8 over your existing setup, but make a backup first!
Add-On Packages
=============
These add-ons restore functionality from the official Froyo Sense release back to MacLite if you need / want them and provide essential 3rd party add-ons and tools. They reside in /system/app and will not take up additional space. Please install these on top of MacLite by flashing the zip package in Recovery mode with Amon-RA or ClockworkMod Recovery.

Best way to install and avoid eventual problems:
1) copy the ROM and all update (or update bundle) zips to your SD card
2) reboot into recovery
3) flash the main ROM and all updates
4) reboot and go through the setup wizard that should configure all apps automatically
5) done
If you add anything later, please get a file manager (e.g. Astro), browse to /system/app and run HtcSetupWizard.apk manually *after* you installed the update zips. That should also do the necessary configurations as at first boot. Not sure if this is really required, just in case of problems you could give it a shot.
...or even simpler, do a factory reset (wipe data & cache) after installing all add-ons you like.
DO THIS ONLY IN RECOVERY MODE AFTER INSTALLING ALL THE 1st TIME
Curious. Are the widgets for Facebook, Friendstream etc removed as well or just the apps?
Apps and widgets are gone altogether. As clean as it gets.

It's based on Paul's clean official odexed version, but adds the changes from Pinky 1.3. So you have also the cool config system.
In my opinion You should try to prepare some updates, that will help people in removing useless google/htc stuff from Desire, than making another custom rom.

I made this ROM as almost every other existing one is deodexed and/or bloated. There is no lean original version. Updates are therefore not really suitable if one doesn't have a good basis to work up on.
I'll see what is the best way for the next version, I still have some changes in mind like a switchable 802.11n. All which are part of a stable baseline. Anything in addition to that would then be possible as updates and addons.
Updated to v0.2. Please see the first posting for details.

If you still have an EXTx partition that would explain it, please repartition your card with FAT32 only and remove any old extra partitions.
If the corruption happens on the FAT32 part (I only had problems with EXTx and A2SD+) then this is a different issue. I understand you do not have the "read only" corruption error, your problem is that your phone can not access the SD card when it is mounted under Windows (and not properly dismounted), which is the correct behavior.
Will try this rom, it has all of the things I want. (Odexed, removed useless apps (ecxept facebook) and it's fast) Thanks.
Stock framework-res
Thanks for a great ROM. Works great.
Is it possible to upload stock framework-res with circle battery?
Thanks.

The problem occurs with the FAT32 partition and it is descripted in my post and it only occurs when A2SD is activated and exists and EXT2/3 partition.
If A2SD is not active, that problem does not occur.
I also tried the tests with the CyanogenMod before installing the A2SD and it worked fine, but the problem begins when the A2SD is installed.

Yes, I understand that.
If you look at my other thread you find that there is another problem with A2SD+, resulting in the "read only" corruption on the EXTn partition. That is different from your issue and in my opinion far more serious as it renders the phone partly useless. And to be honest, I did not have that FAT32 problem nor was looking into it. However I can understand how to reproduce it. You changed the phone from disk drive to charge only without unmounting it in Windows. And what probably happened is that A2SD+ somehow stays in the way of doing the switch by itself. Solution: unmount the drive first in Windows as every other card or USB stick (not sure if that really helps ).
I'm going to build another version that has the ext4 support and anything related to A2SD+ completely removed, hopefully that solves the FAT32 problem too besides the already fixed "read only" thing.
Sweet Jesus yes. Something that strips out all the useless, pointless crap like Facebook, Twitter, etc. Let people get that crap off the market if they want it, but give us a clean first boot.
Awesome.

Unmounting the drive in Windows was my first try, but the problem is the same.
The problem is not in Windows, it is in the phone. It seems the phone does not update the system files after the first PC connection, but it does it in the next power off.
Talking about the "read only" problem, I had that problem only once, but I could solved it checking the drive with Windows and I thought it was by the same problem.
Could you explain me how can I do to reproduce the "read only" problem with a deodexed ROM?
Regards
I've made a brand new test build, this time it's really down to the very basics to figure out the corruption issue.
And it comes with a changed name as there is no Pinky in it .
MacLite v0.3 is based on Paul's official Modaco FroYo, but is re-rooted and updated to latest Superuser 2.3.2.2 +
latest busybox 1.17.1. In addition it has only included bash, /data/apps (for easy removal/update) + custom boot
screen/sound removed capability (none included).
Removed space and battery wasting applications/widgets:
AppSharing
FriendStream
Stocks
Twitter
Facebook
Flickr
Footprints
Maps (replaced, see below)
PDFViewer
Quickoffice
SocialNetworkProvider
Teeter
VoiceSearch
Added applications (in /data/apps):
3GWatchdog
Gallery3D
Maps (latest brut version)
MarketEnabler
Y5Battery
B&W Battery Indicator (Framework)
131MB free. Odexed.
Again, this is a test build that misses a lot of additional functionality and further cleanup. If you have SD card
corruption issues, please give it a shot and feedback if it solves the FAT32 corruption. Changes can then be
implemented in a more complete version.
It uses default settings and governor, so battery life, speed and behavior should be identical to the official
release.
Thanks!

@simemu
The read only corruption only affects EXTx partitions, and if this happens it basically screws up your whole Android OS. It's not possible to be caused or repaired by Windows itself. Windows is technically incapable to access EXT partitions, nor could it check or repair them.
I assume it is really some problem of incompatibility between A2SD+, which acts as a kind of file system driver, and the external machine. Problems were reported with Windows, Linux and Mac connections. So it must really be a problem within the phone.
To reproduce it you need an EXTx partition with applications installed to it. Then connect it to your PC and try to transfer some data to your SD card. It will give you the "read only" error and the only way to fix is is to take the card out and plug it in a PC/laptop and repartition/format it externally. Pretty messy.
But there is hope. Please give this new test build a try and report back .
How can I remove the apps I don't want? Remove them from the zip file?

Weeds2000 gave it a go, and fixed the download of paid apps! im sure alot will be happy to read this.
Then i found another tweak in the screen driver, to increase framerate which currently was only 51. now its increased to 80.
on top of this, DerArtem is currently working on making it possible to use USB 3G dongles on our folio, so we can go online using the phone functionality in Android. I have for now, enabled some phone functions and activated the signal level indicator (might be annoying, but enhancement has a cost for now).
It also seems, that i by mistake had enabled locationservices in the build.prop, so at every boot the GPS, which we don't have, was enabled and caused an additional CPU load during a bootup. this is now fixed as well.
31.12.2010
the update pack includes some fixes for wpa_supplicant issue, where it did not switch to the correct adhoc wpa_supplicant.
and weeds2000 has brought a new update to the orientation so compass works, but mouse is still wrong.
lastly it fixes the sensor readings which made your tablet unable to rotate.
30.12.2010
A little more details on v1.3 update release..
V1.3 went through a public beta1 stage and issues were found and fixed where possible.
While fixing bugs in 1.3beta a 3D performance pack was found with the Viewsonic forum, and i tested it with our Folio, with changes as required to match our system. and it increased framerates. So that is now part of the new 1.3.
Furthermore the filesystem I/O performance bugs were found and fixed, and we now have a 330MB partition running on a loopback device, making database calls and small file changes much faster.
With the ElocityA7 i found the newest Flashplayer minor update revision, and of course replaced our Toshiba beta with the new one found.
Other users has suggested kernel tweaks which also has been added to the v1.3, one of them is the "swappiness" parameter, it is suggested to increase application handling on our folio and its now "live" in this release.
Sol Ido, provided us with the 0.3.4 edition of the FolioWidget, which includes a tricker enabler for switching between the regular wpa_supplicant and the wpa_supplicant for adhoc use also included in 1.3.
The orientation fix from weeds2000 is now default included into v1.3, but can be removed with a rollback patch found in the patches section in Post #1. it does have flaws like mouse pointer moves in "portrait" mode right now. compass should not be working correctly. but in general more apps utilizing the orientation/sensor is now working much better.
With FolioMod 1.3 a small milestone is reached, getting 3000+ in Quadrant score without actually cheating here
But of course Quadrant benchmarking is just one way of meassuring our device, CPU performance has not changed at all, so dont get too excited, but it does help in the overall experience of your tablet.

as you see on the picture above, our tablet has native 0 degree in landscape mode where mobilephones got portrait native.. you can call this failure of nvidia, or someone else, but it seems that someone thinks this should be the standard.
if we can get the X and Y curve switched, we might just get it working normally.
12.12.2010
- Version 1.2 introduce use of the official patch installer from Toshiba which shows progress bar indicator movements on the screen, if recovery menu is not shown.
- Version 1.2 offers the newest toshiba update 2.5.0053 features, but which?
- BadStorm2010 managed to get a custom kernel compiled, which for adds support for ext4(future support),OpenVPN and cifs support, so you can mount filesystems over network.
- The FolioWidget offers control of your hardware buttons to have lights enabled and turns off only when pressed (good during evening/night)
- By failure of mine, the Vending.apk (Market app) included in 1.2, slows down the folio, so to enhance and fix it, i added a patch which adds the newest Market app to our folio with new design and way of selecting apps (actually is much better).
- as the framework is new, i tried to include all old features as 360 rotation , wma/wmv , Google apps + /mnt/sdcard location fix and other small issues.
- Paid apps still remain an issue with toshiba framework, only solution for you that want/need it, is to use the old 0.2 edition with nvidia framework.
29.11.2010
Currently the Toshiba edition 1.0b is having more issues than compared to 0.2a software wise. there is a freeze issues, and awake issues(solved, but fix is not released) and google paid apps cannot be downloaded.
So if you're ok without proper BT functions and usbstick unmounting, the 0.2a is probably you're best choice right now..
But if you need mouse/keyboard, usbstick proper unmount, 360rotation, the toshiba mod is the way forward.
I will try and get the freezing fixed, but more testing is needed..
28.11.2010
the Toshiba mod was created due to all the small differences in the framrwork with Bluetooth, USB functionality and sdcard card functions. Like on phones, vendors always do a little customization, which not always serves all users nicely when the image is modded based on other models. But now the stock rom is available with modded functions, so all should be happy now.
25.11.2010- on top of the above mentioned changes, here are some more regular info
- The new 0.2a still has USB stick/sdcard unmount issues, which is only part of the toshiba framework to handle for now. Im working on getting it to work on stock android.
- Increased the desktop sizing to 7 vert/horz , so more space for widgets and placement.
- media player extract image information.
- Wpa supplicant will not show signal strength for now, but im sure the better functionality might compesate for this.
(this has been tested with my Galaxy S running tetherAP function, and i could go online using my mobile connection)
Tested(v0.2a),
-Gapps,Angrybirds,Movieplayback(Yxplayer)+WMV/WMA, HDMI out, usb mass storage to pc, sdcard, usbstick, websurf+flash
- rotation , Market download, Power off,ad-hoc connectivity,.

its very slow, because there is like 20 of us who are downloading the file at the same time.
well the one who gets it up an running first, please post a step by step for the noobs ( like me) and give some impressions how the device works with this first better rom!
Anyone is welcome to post mirrors, i dont needs credits for those.

No problems with the Download here.
I installed everything through the System Update, but nothing changed at all. Do I have to perform a factory reset before applying the folio mod? (My folio is rooted, I tried to install some google apps and so on...)
The first line when applying the mod says "E: can't mount DEFAULT_PATH" - how about the others?
Anyway: thanks a lot for your work!
At some point you have to select "apply sdcard:update.zip" or something like that with vol - and (i think) power
For me it did a factory reset but nothing else, tried angry birds to see if anything had changed but nope.

but yes, today the speed seems very slow even when im uploading, maybe its simply timeouts on your download so the zip gets corrupt.

are people using the "update.zip" inside the zip i released? or simply putting this one on the sdcard?
when installing it shows text, when HOME button is pressed this is clearly one way to confirm something.. just rebooting does not say much here..
here is another way:
- Reboot into "Firmware Update" menu.. (Press MENU to show actual recovery menu screen when booted into recovery kernel, after the "recovery logo" shows)
- Insert sdcard into slot, and move to "update firmware" second line.. and press power button to execute.
below you should see the information on steps taken..

well, it looks correct, so next question is; can you use adb? and login with shell and maybe extract the /tmp/recovery.log file?
if you got no root, just enter "rootme" and you should be disconnected from adb.
kill adb with "adb kill-server" and relogin with adb.
and you got root.
Is this correct?
power vol+

when adroid appears HOME button

then

[ROM] Avaritia HD v0.7 (Udate: 20 jan )

_~~~ Avaritia HD ~~~__
...when a DESIRE grows inordinately strong it becomes AVARICE ...
I tested almost all Desire HD ROMs with data2sd (!).... and i didn't like any of those. The reason is that the data2sd solution is done in a bad "patchwork" way. The reason is this: A Desire HD rom needs about 350mb for the system partition (nand). But the Desire has only 250mb for system available. To make HD Rom work all the devs move system stuff to the SD. This is needed if you provide an app2sd ROM because app2sd still needs some space of the internal data partition. But this is different on a data2sd ROM. In that case you only need 1mb of the internal nand. All other ROMs STILL move system stuff to the sd for their data2sd version although there is much free space on the internal now. Thats why i decided to make my own ROM .... optimized for data2sd only. This way all the 350mb of system is installed to the nand. This way i make good use of all the free memory that you get on data2sd and thats why i wont provide an app2sd version of this ROM. Instead of making data2sd for a ROM i made a ROM for data2sd.
Apart from that i tried to improve data2sd in general and the included script has advantages you don't get on other Desire HD roms. Other HD Roms use a "loop" device for data2sd. I find that a bit risky and thats why i didnt make that default but provide this as an OPTIONAL addon. The life-of-the-edge mod is not more risky than other data2sd Roms .... the difference is that I tell you about the risk and give you to choice if you want to use it....
This ROM is still work in progress and i still won't provide a full feature list (but i think you won't miss a thing because all "usual" features are included). Instead i give you a feature list of features that won't find in any other data2sd HD-ROM.
Features: (that make this ROM unique - at least for some time )
- partition alignment with zips.
- optimized layout for data2sd (system apps on NAND)
- ReiserFS, btrfs, JFS support + recovery
- "deadline" scheduler instead of cfq/bfq which is better for a microSD
I'll add some explanations for the features in future.
Requirements:
-A second Partition in Ext2/3/4 format (same as for app2sd - min 512 but 1024 mb highly recommended max is 2048 mb)
-FULL WIPE (if you come from any other rom or a version before 0.6)
-Default nand partition layout (if you dont know what this means dont care about it .... youll have it then )
Apart from the ext2/3/4 partition this ROM also supports other filesystems (btrfs, Reiserfs, jfs). See 2nd post for "mods" to align, format you partion in the desired filesystem. And for recovery.
Download
Avaritia HD v0.7 alpha (ftp - thanks c0urier)
Avaritia HD v0.6 alpha (ftp - thanks c0urier)
Avaritia HD v0.5 alpha (ftp - thanks c0urier)
WARNING: btrfs is still experimental, jfs is made for IBM servers with battery backed hdds, and the developer of reiserfs killed his wife ... so be careful with those.
Additional info: EXT3 is recommended. Akso see /sdcard/Avaritia/ for the config file.

Changelog (newest)
v0.7
- reverted rebase - Base is now RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.32.405.6
- Cgroup errors on bfs fixed (through rebase)
Note: HTC using cgroup to speed up interactivity on CFS is not the way forward when
a sheduler MADE for interactivity (BFS) - CFS + cgroups is intended for large servers
and not for a phone.
- Dpad to wake / volume keys works now and included (see mods to "unflash")
- Power Notification widget included as default (see mods to unflash)
- Add custom Wallpaper to the default skin
- Fixed bootanimation (2 frames were too bright + made it a bit slower)
- Bluelight "fun" on boot
- Updated apks
- Some tweaks (mostly adopted from ownhere - thx ownhere)
- Some fixes.
For a complete changelog see the attached full-changelog.txt file
Known Issues and Recommendations
-As for all data to sd solution you may have slowdowns in some situations like market downloads if you have a slow microSD. Any data2sd solution is about space in the first place. But compared to other data2sd ROMs this ROM is faster.
-If you use any other filesystem you need the custom recover from 2nd post.
-FAKE quadrant scores if you use "life-on-the-edge". This does not show the real performance. This skips data base synchronization. It improves the performance (but not as much as bench suggests) at the risk of data safety.
- 720p not working. (see here)

Check the thread. In short btrfs is a copy on write filesystem. And overwriting is the slowest operation for a microSD. Btrfs has some options to optimize the ssd devices. Especially slow cards profit from it (for good cards it may be worse). Apart from that it doesn't need journaling to be safe because of COW. This decreases the overhead on writes.
Overall data2sd feels smoother on btrfs than on ext4 (at least for a class 2 microSD). Check the thread for more info and note that BTRFS is a BETA FILESYSTEM.
I just gave you another post directly below your original one All you have to do is edit it and use it.
Nice to see you choose the right ROM
I'm following your progress of your btrfs work a time now, and played around with it, too. I flash it to my device, lets see how it is
Please make the same with the desireZ rom

Coutts99 recommended it and after i looked at it found it rather easy to check the structure. Not much symlinks etc. Very clean and AFAIK the ROM that is closest to stock. Still needed to adjust many things (zipalign etc).

The best way if you are not already on a linux based system, is to grab a livecd and use gparted. Normally I would recommend Ubuntu, but Ubuntu 10.10 LiveCD got problems with btrfs + gparted. So you could try fedora or opensuse e.g.
Of course you can also use the gparted live cd or usb version.
I never tried them, but should be the same:
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
With gparted format your sd card to FAT32 (first partion) and then 1024MB to btrfs (second partition).
Copy the ROM to your FAT32 partition and flash it through the recovery. I recommend AmonRAs latest recovery!
Don't forget to wipe before you flash! Don't worry if you get error messages when trying wiping the sd-ext, just ignore that.
Regards
I flashed the rom in btrfs mode. Installation without problems.
Its nice to see so much space on the phone.
The only thing is that the device really seems slower now.
Of course this is not your fault, you give us a great solution for more storage, but you can feel the difference.
I will let the phone do some caching and will use it a hole day tomorrow. (Navigation included). Lets see maybe things will settle down a little.
Maybe it could be improved with a optimized kernel.
I got a class 6 sd card by the way.

Pays, i normally use either UltimateLinux build for the meerkat or plain lynx. Are any of these distros have issue with btrfs too ?
Thanks
BL
I'll be testing this as soon as I can as I'm skeptical of Btrfs. Only way to check and test the actual Btrfs usability and performance with our device and ROMs is to use it with one. I'll try it with a class 2 SD first, then class 4 and 6 that I own. Thanks.
EDIT: Yeah, your "my data2btrfs" link talks about "advantages" where no. 1/2/4 are all speculation yet. There's no studies or widespread reliable, repeatable, and conclusive testing showing either. Basically, this is experimental.
EDIT2: Sorry can't help further. I bricked my device. Carry on.

[ROM] Al-Maisan Arabic HTC 2.32.415.3 [12 Feb] Stable Data2SD | Unlimited memory

الميسان
(Sense | Android 2.2 (Froyo) | Stable DATA2SD | Any ext | Official 2.32.415.3 ARA | Stock rooted Desire Rom | Arabic )
Current Version: Al-Maisan 1.0.5
Partition Required: FAT32 followed by ext2/3/4
Base Software: 2.32.415.3 Arabic
Note that Al-Maisan is the Arabic edition of StarBurst, built completely from the latest Arabic HTC Software for maximum compatibility. In contrast to other ROMs with just Arabic locale and libraries added, this is completely based on the Arabic ROM.
Note that some links in this site may link you to StarBurst English Edition. In that case, just follow the page menus to navigate back to the Arabic ROM.
The MiniSite for the ROM is located here.
The main feature of this pure HTC Sense Rom is the stable Data2SD that is built in
In case you didnt already know, the Desire's Internal memory is severely limited (A maximum of 147 MB. Within no time, you will be asked to remove your favoite apps to clear space. Earlier implementations like A2SD, App2SD+ are all imperfect, and everything will never be moved. Even MTD partitions are limited.
With Data2SD, you decide the amount of Internal memory you want!
As a side effect, you get faster I/O too, since Sd is faster than Nand. the real world performance depends on the Class of your card. The faster the better!
This rom is based on Sibere’s Data2sd scripts, which with the latest ext4 based script, is arguably one of the best of the lot. Other than this, the Rom has been kept stock, with the base rom 2.29.405.5. It is for those who want the HTC Sense Rom, but are tired of the low disk space warnings thrown at them! Of course, important mods like the Restart menu, Supercircle battery mod (@UOT) etc are available.
Contrary to prior Data2SD scripts which were infamous for their boot loops and force closes, this latest script has been rigorously tested and developed into a stable product by Sibere. To date, I havent had a single force close or boot loop yet on this Data2SD configuration
I know there are a lot of Stock rooted roms out there, but this one supports Data2Sd best, mostly because it’s been built for the sole purpose of giving a problem free Data2sd experience.

A lot of hard work has gone into building this Arabic ROM. So, if you post this ROM on another site/forum/translation, please take care of the following:
Include a link to the Minisite for Al-Maisan, and the link to the XDA thread of Al-Maisan
Include credits to the ROM author-Droidzone, and credits for Data2SD to Sibere
Include the original download links only. Please do not reupload the Rom to your mirrors and distribute it. I would like to see the status and number of downloads, to plan on whether to continue development
Write a short post in the XDA thread with the link to the site where you've uploaded it, so that I can see it too.
Instructions for Installation- READ this before proceeding!
Credits:
1. Sibere for the Data2SD
2. Neophyte/Leedroid/snq for the current Kernel
3. dsixda for the Android Kitchen
4. Shipped Roms for the RUUs leaked from HTC
Most StarBurst files are compatible with this ROM and vice versa. Hence the thread OP reflects the StarBurst thread OP. However since this is a completely different ROM, I had to add a thread for it.
Note: Turn signature verification off in Recovery menu before running the installer script. (If you dont know how, see this)
The entire Rom and the Data2sd packages are coded in Edify. So you can flash it even in the latest version of Clockworkmod Recovery
All download links are on the MiniSite. Download them from here. Kindly DO NOT share the Rom from other mirrors. I have given four mirrors on which I have uploaded the files.
List of Downloads that are available:
Main Rom
Data2Sd installer
Once you have booted into Android OS once after the installation of the main rom, you should reboot to recovery and install this package. This will add Data2SD support to the base Rom.
Data2Sd Re-Installer
If you ever reflash the Rom alone after the Data2SD is installed, some essential libraries required by Data2SD is lost. To restore them, flash the Rom in Recovery, followed immediately thereafter by the Re-Installer.
System App Remover Utility
(Removes Friendstream, Facebook, Teeter, Twitter etc from the Rom. Simple flashable utility. Download it here. Flash it any time you want. If you want to keep some apps out of these, go to /scripts/remover.sh and remove the line corresponding to the app you want to keep.
The list of apps/widgets which the utility removes by default can be found here.
Third Party App Remover Utility
Removes the additional apps and widgets including Adfree, TitaniumBackup, MyBackup Root, Astro, Explorer, Gmail Unread Count Widget, and SMS Unread count widget that come installed with the Rom on first install. Thus after running this program, you get a clean HTC Sense setup, but with the advantages of the latest Market update and the updates for all HTC/Google apps. Requested and added on the same day.
Supercircle battery mod [From the UOT Kitchen]
This is just one of the mods. Visit the UOT Kitchen to make your own.
Mega Sound Pack from Miui
How to theme this Rom:
Note: This Rom is now directly supported by the UOT Kitchen. To modify the theme as you see fit, visit the awesome UOT Kitchen and choose your theme. At the last step, choose Al-Maisan Rom from the dropdown list. That's it! Thanks, UOT and mendozinas. (For the kind notice of the UOT Kitchen devs: All Al-Maisan Rom versions share the same framework-res.apk
I havent included any theme in this Rom because I dont believe in radically modifying the looks of a Rom until it may be unpleasant to some. A lot of themes are available for Sense, if you look in the Theming section of XDA. Most are flashable directly. Also, being a fully deodexed rom, theming/moding is easily done
Addon Kernels compatible with Al-Maisan
Statutory Warning: Using any Overclocked/Undervolted kernel may cause reboots of the phone without warning. If reboot occurs on a Data2SD based configuration, there may be potential loss of Data with permanent boot loops (which may be fixable only by a Nandroid restore to a working configuration/complete reinstall). So do a complete Nandroid backup before any kernel modification/flashing or changing your CPU frequencies.
Installation of Kernels
This is similiar to flashing a Rom through Recovery. Just install the Rom and Data2SD patcher before flashing the kernel zip. Undervolted kernels usually provide better battery life. But if you undervolt/overclock too much, your phone might become unstable and reboot. This can potentially cause Data2SD damage and bootloops may result. So, take Nandroid and monitor system stability. If it becomes unstable, always revert back. Please don't post bug reports in the thread if you use a different kernel than what is included in StarBurst by default. If you do mention a bootloop, take care to mention what kernel you were using.
NeoPhyTe.x360's Kernel 2.6.32.28-Halcyon-Neophyte has warmly given permission to use his kernel in Al-Maisan. Thanks, Neo! Neo's thread on AuraxTsense ROM is here

About other mods
Note that this Rom already includes most kernel mods needed for performance/battery. If you still like some other mods published for the stock rom, drop a post in the thread. Advanced theming for the mod can be done in the UOT Kitchen.
I didn’t want users to worry about installing other mods, and wanted a No-Nonsense installation (pun intended
). Install the base rom and the data2sd installer. That’s all you need! And you get everything that other roms provide.
About Installing other Kernels
Most kernels which support Stock Sense 2.29.405 should work on this. Work with your kernel dev and see if it supports 2.29.405.
Links to Additional Stuff (Addons) - Usually unnecessary
Radios
Latest radio (Recommended, but by no means essential, unless your radio is very, very old. Flashing radios is a risky thing with the potential of permanently bricking your phone)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
Note that the order and time at which you flash the Rom, Data2SD installer and Reinstaller is important.
Step-by-Step method of Installation
First Step: Reboot into Recovery Right now and Backup your Nandroid. Optionally and if you have these softwares, do in addition a backup from Titanium Backup and MyBackupPro
Second Step: Copy the entire contents of your MicroSD card, including specifically the folders Clockworkmod, TitaniumBackup and Rerware to a safe location on your PC; depending on whether you do/dont have Titanium backup and MyBackupPro installed.
You cannot install this ROM on top of your existing ROM. A complete delete of partitions followed by repartitioning is required. If you already have a Fat32 followed by an ext4, you can try installing as per above instructions. But if there are some issues, do the repartitioning to fix it.
Partitioning: Boot up the Gparted LiveCD
Choose your MicroSD card reader device, select each partition and delete each.
Then hit "Apply changes"
Then create the fat32 partition first as fat32 primary, Leave space unallocated at the end to create the ext4-Choose how much space you want as ext4, and leave this space at the end unallocated. The total amount of space in your card minus the amount you choose for your data in ext4, is what you type in as size for the fat32
Now create ext4 parition
Apply changes
Copy both zips (rom, data2sdinstaller or data2sdreinstaller as the case may be) to the fat32, boot up clockwork
Do a Complete Nandroid Wipe (That is, choose the wipe data/factory reset option)
Install rom.
If you are installing Al-Maisan for the first time, after installing the Rom you have to boot to Android first, choose language and other options. Then right after that without downloading any applications or using the Market, you have to enter Recovery once again and install the Data2SD Installer
If were already Al-Maisan previously and just want to update, just boot to Recovery, and Backup your Nandroid. Then install the Rom zip first. Without rebooting, apply the Data2SDReinstaller. Now boot to Android to use updated StarBurst

Support for Al-Maisan (The Arabic Edition of StarBurst)
Al-Maisan was born out of a hobby and passion for making a Data2SD Rom based on the HTC Rom without any of the limitations imposed by the Stock Rom. I made this out of the demand for an Arabic version of StarBurst rom. If you like it and would like to support the continued development of the Rom, you may consider a Donation.

Multilanguage??
All Arabic locales and English. If you want other languages, you should get StarBurst.
Hi droidzone
is Carbon Ara V2.5 THEME compatable with this ROM ?
Please do a Nandroid backup, install it and tell me.. I had to spend a lot of time in the actual Rom development and couldnt get around to testing the themes. All themes on the site are themes actually compatible with the English edition, which is of a different framework. It is likely that it wont work.
Did you install it? Did it go fine..
Rom installed and working just fine here. Quadrant score >1900 on my crappy class 2 card. A couple of tiny things: not many Locales (solved by morelocale2) and APN's (could be manually configured). Thanks for your work
That can be resolved in a later edition.
For the first edition, I have stayed with the default Arabic and English locales available in the stock RUU. Could be added later of time permits..I'm involved in development of two Roms
I understand. Just wanted to make sure ur aware of them. Nothing can't live without Thanks

@abumhmmd1, Is there a problem in the naming of the Rom? I was looking at the ce4arab thread and I see that someone has given a link to a wiki citation about the Kingdom of Maysan..
I was under the impression that الميسان is a Star, whose name literally means "The Shining One". But of course I dont know Arabic and could be wrong!

SuperAosp 6.4

SuperAosp 6.4
Statement: http://www.movilzona.es/foro/superaosp-para-nexus-one-by-superatmel-tolemac-t4675.html
Special thanks to [email protected] workgroup for letting me join this group.
This ROM (not a mod) has been developed from the source of
Google (AOSP) and a very little part of Cyanogen framework.
Thanks to Cyanogen and all his staff for the contributions received.
I strongly recommend formatting SDCARD with the three
partitions, VFAT 7.4 GB / EXT3 512MB / LinuxSwap 64MB, you can do
from the recovery, but remember to save before your pictures and music.
This is because directories are created in the sdcard called Android in which
recording data that I have found that negatively affect the ROM.
This is only necessary if you want to have Apps2sd or Linux Swap,
if you're not going to make any of these things is not necessary to format
SDCARD with three partitions.
Steps:
1 .- is necessary to WIPE, since changes in the system have been
many are not compatible.
2 .- Reboot into recovery mode and install the downloaded file. Zip.
3 .- When you first start, do not worry if you reboot one or
twice, it can also take a while to leave the first splash, is
completely normal and running multiple configuration files in the first
home.
4 .- In the Welcome screen when you ask for the account
google, skip the configuration recommended giving ignored. This is
Auto connect the phone because the market and begin downloading
automatically all the applications you had installed and it saturates
terminal because it does blow, it also puts the background image
previous ROM. In this way you will do a clean install.
5 .- End to indicate the values that you requested and once in the
launcher set the phone to your liking.
6 .- Very attentive to you to do restorations of any kind or
ROM program against which you can have problems. (I mean backups,
including their own SupSetup least in the section on applications), special
attention to restore configuration data of any kind. Do
little by little to make sure everything is properly restored.
7 .- After you enter the market and a free application instaláis
either to refresh which you have installed in the terminal.
The new integrated SupSetup activation brings on-demand applications in
extra applications section.
It is important before you set up Google account are activated
from applications before SupSetup so that when you connect to the
servers to configure your Google account, they come under the heading of
downloads.
Apps2sd
Apps2sd is to pass the phone applications both current
future to the ext3 partition, it is essential not to trigger any mode
sd application to move or change from internal to external location
applications. Simply activate it from the SupSetup without touching any
configuration in the Spare Parts or applications from the ROM settings.
Apps2sd not activate without at least once you have restarted
Kernel
At the end of the kernel is not mine, of all the comments of several forums, I have

Well until you can actually provide information on this Rom I don't think anyone should even touch it. If you guys are developers you should be able to provide this info no problem.
What about OC?
