As we know,the Android3.1 is not just a tablet os,but I haven't seen this os run on a phone.So I'm just confusing,is there a phone version Android3.1 or not.
3.1 is tablet-only. It's updates on Honeycomb. The 3.x features will come to phones when Ice Cream Sandwhich is released. There's no solid info on what version number this will be. It could be 2.4, could be 3.2.
It's tab only indeed. If you want to try it out, without spending to much cash, you can buy a cheap tablet on DealExtreme for ex. And install it on there. I've heard that those tabs are universal and that actually almost every OS can be runned on.
what is the difference between3.2 and 2.3??
because i want to buy galaxy tab7.7 (andriod3.2)
but i want my currently apps(my phone andriod2.3)
run on the tab 7.7
does it work??
3.2 is Honeycomb, 2.3 is Gingerbread, most of your apps will work fine as it is, some might be weird. but you'll also get access to loads of new apps!
+ a great device
Also, Gingerbread (2.3) is mainly a phone OS, and Honeycomb (3.0-3.2) is optimized for tablets, but Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) is a unified OS, works great on both phones and tablets (feels like improved 2.3 on phones, and improved 3.2 on tablets)
Also, i m pretty sure that the Galaxy Tab 7 Plus should get the update early next year (4.0!)

Hey guys,
I first wanted to say, I have heard nothing but great things about this site and the people of these forums. That’s what brought me here today!
About two weeks ago I bought a Nook Tablet. I didn’t really want a full tablet because of the price and only wanted to do a few things with it. After playing around with it for several hours I realized that I had to pay for apps I got free on my phone, I was able to sideload a few apps but didn’t block automatic updates so now my Nook is running 1.4.1 or whatever it is, so now I have to use the Nook app store.
So this leads me to my real question. What is a good android tablet I can watch Netflix, play some basic games ( Angry Bird, Farm Story, etc ) , read books using ( nook and kindle apps ) and have the ability to play around and not be so limited.
I was looking at the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
Are these two good tablets? Sadly I haven’t had a chance to play around with them in person yet and only have until tomorrow to return my Nook. I was very happy with the speed of the Nook Tablet so if these are just as fast or faster then ill be happy. Please help me out guys, I’m open to other tablets etc. I’m just looking to keep it under $400 if possible.
Thanks you so much guys,
Glen
Nobody?
You could root your nook tablet then you would get the android market.

I have the Acer iconia a500 tablet and it is great. It can do movies and apps like Netflix great. Plus plenty of games.. and books.
Also you can get them for around 330$
I would also suggest rooting your nook to allow for the android market.

Samsung 7.0+ is the best 7 inch tablet avlible.
Kindle fire is great for a lot of stuff, and crazy cheap, but isnt really android, its just Android based. Still, if it fits your needs its great.
Cheapest full android (honeycomb) 7" tablet is the Acer a100
Good facts, and straight to the point. If I could thank you on the app I would..

HP TouchPad is a 10" tablet that will run CM7 and dual boot webOS. It ships with webOS. ICS is almost ready, just tying up loose ends I guess. They run ~$220 on eBay and online classifieds. 1.2Ghz dual core, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage. Check out the TouchPad forum, very active. The TouchPad has sold more than any other tablet, except the iPad. They have been discontinued, but there is a huge user and dev base, so they are far from dead.
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
just want to point out, HP touchpad is a 9" tab.
and if you want cheap, you may want to look at the Archos 70b full android honeycomb (soon to be ICS) including front facing camera and android market for $199
Vizio Tablet..
Has anyone found a way to root this tablet after the 1.5 update? Or knows how to downgrade it so i can root it.. Thanks
At the opposite end of the spectrum, what is the best, most powerful, most beautiful Tab out there, or to be released soon? I got a B-Day in April and want my wife to get me one, I am drawn towards the Galaxy, and have the SII as a phone, but would love to see the communities opinions...
the trasformer prime 2.0 <3
best by far.
WHICH TABLET SHOULD I BUY IN CANADA??
It should be in the price range of 200$-350$.
have a 8 inches or larger screen
with good memory and camera
also want ICE CREAM Sandwich
or honeycomb
can be any brand
also does anyone know where to get HTc Flyer, evo view 4g or jetstream tablet in canada brand new???
please reply...
thanks in advance
I just bought this tablet a few days ago. It seems to be pretty new and based on an earlier model (Tab-9701). The '97' refers to the screen size, 9.7 inches and the '02' in the model number refers to having two cameras now instead of only one. It's a bit cheap and nasty but can get me online and take photos when I'm out and about.
Anyway, it has Ice Cream Sandwich installed (Android 4.0.4) and I'd like to upgrade it to Jellybean at least but since it's so new, I don't want to brick it. I can only find two unanswered posts on the XDA forums in relation to the 9701 model and nothing about the 9702, so this is the first. Does anyone have any idea what tablet this thing would be based on, maybe like a Nexus or something? Then I could follow the guide for the similar model and maybe install Jellybean myself, since I have root.
Any help would be appreciated. Here are the specs:
10" Capacitive-Touch IPS LED Display
ARM Cortex A10 1.2Ghz CPU
Memory 1GB DDR3 ## Storage 8GB
Built-in Wifi 802.11 b/g
HDMI port, Integrated Micro-SD Card Reader, micro-USB 2.0
Dual Camera (Front & Rear)
Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS
Cheers.
Michael.

I know it's a bit poor replying to my own thread but I thought I'd post this link in case anyone else is in the same predicament as me, or if they're looking for something of interest. Since the Lenco Tab-9702 is the same as the 9701 apart from the extra camera, here are some links for the Lenco tablets (and others):
