Setting the Network prefix length from 24 to 32 was a fix I recall using for a similar issue; worth a try. the issue I was having was not having the "Save" button available to press to commit the settings. Once I changed the prefix length that button was no longer grayed out.
thanks for the info didint work tho. A for effort

Highlight the connected network and, modify network. Change it from DHCP or whatever it is, to static. It'll solve the connection problems. No more endless YouTube buffering, failed market downloads, etc. I had the same problem at first. Let me know your progress.

That could be a number of things. Only certain gear has the WPS buttons (Linksys/Cisco, I think).
1. Reset your router. If it used to work then just quit, rebooting the router usually fixes it.
1. Has it ever connected to any wifi equipment anywhere?
2. Check the security settings on your wifi router & verify you're using the same settings & key on the phone
3. Worst case, set up your wireless router to use no security & see if the phone connects. If so, it's probably your set up. Change the router back to decent security (WPA/TKIP or WPA2/AES) and make sure you set the phone up to access the wifi router with that same security.
The WPS button is located on the router itself. It should be easy to find.
Google the make and model of your router to see if you have one. If you are using your service providers router you can call them and ask them how you can connect via WPS connection
I dont know what was going on with it,but I did all the steps that yall told me but dint work,It got me mad ashell lolz I left my phone alone for a while when I came bk wifi was working it wierd ...but thank yall ,and just to let yall know it have happen before but never say nothing until now, I was wondering y this happens sometimes it just take 1 day for the wifi to start working, idont know why? it mite be routers or something cuz I know the phone aint the problem or mite be, ....but anyways thatnk you so much for both of you .....

Glad it's working. Weird that it stops working at times. Might be interference from other things if, when it stops working, it's always in the same location.
Good luck

LOL, I hear ya. You might want to try using a different channel on your router. It may help if it is a problem with interference.

Hello. I am really new to all this and I have a problem that I can't seem to find similar posts explaining or having the same issue. I have the supercm7 v1 rom on my infuse4g and the mobile hotspots won't work. A user can connect to it and we even saw that he could get an IP address and DNS was working. But no data, cannot load any webpages or anything. I looked at the apn settings and played around with them with different suggestions with no luck. Any ideas? Thank you

Not sure if i'm any help at all, but every time ive used wifi tethering, i need to load something on my phone after enabling tethering in order for the inernet to work on the computer. it never seems to work correctly until i use data on the phone after turning it on and connecting.
Freeze tether app in titbu. Done.

So I installed open garden tether and it works fine that way. Except for the fact that my wife's infuse stock doesn't see the ssid from a foot away.??? My computers and other friends cell's can connect, weird...

Need I repeat.. and slightly mod..
ROOT as you said that you had done. You can root stock. Then freeze or uninstall tethering manager in titanium backup. Done. Make sure you have a visible SSID

Does tethering work on the ics-Leak?
I've tried both the usb tether and the wife tether (I've disabled the entitlements check) but none work. On both tether, I got connected, got an ip address but traffic are block. When I do a trace route, only the first hop replies.
Any ideas?

Hmm. Not sure why it doesn't work for you.
I posted a how to in the forum. Run that over line for line, and see if it helps.

As I've said in the OP, I've disabled entitlements check and because I got an ip address, it shows that my notebook was connected to my phone.
I could only think two possibility :
- the phone for some reason is not forwarding traffic
Or
- my operator somehow knows about my tethering and refuse it. This one is unlikely, because my wife uses evo3d on the same operator and tethering works.

i am having the same problem. it shows im connected but the i get "data link lost errot"
Works for me after changing the entitlement check
Ok i have finally got my Wi-Fi Hotspot working. i disabled the entitlement check but that alone did do it for me.
Using SQLite
open settings storage (com.motorola.android.providers.settings
settings.db
settings
on my phone lines 117 and 118 are dun_apn_changeable and dun_enable
Change both of their values to 1
I dont know if it will work for others but it worked for me. (im on straight talk)
I tried everything posted here with no luck. Finally just installed foxfi. Works like a charm.

Has anyone gotten FoxFi to work with Bluetooth tethering?
I know that WiFi tethering is faster, etc., but I'm interested in Bluetooth's battery life advantage.
Thanks

What's the problem with teathring? I used this in GB and almost all ICS Rom's without issues.
Does this issues related to ATT AT2?

Anyone else having issues streaming youtube or google play sample tracks over wifi? 3g works fine, wifi connection says "lost connection to server". Works fine w the other phones using wifi in the house. Tried restoring back to my first post root save w the same effect. Any thoughts?

My youtube is touchy over 3G, might just be the connection but it'll play just fine unless I try to skip ahead.
Thanks KP.
I will try a different network today. Odd that the other androids in the house have no problem on the network. Thought it may have had something to do w the "officially unlocked" boot loader. But if no one else is having this problem it must be my network, or my phone. Maybe different protocols are used...?

For posterity sake, I narrowed this issue down to my network. Specifically the Airave 2.5 that sprint just sent me.

I believe it, pos... put it behind my router & all is well. Never did like the idea of having it between my router & modem anyway.
