er1kmm's Experimental Build FunHouse! - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

I like this title on another forum so i kanged it kinda lol anywho
to everyone that might want to test here's a test build : AOKP Milestone6 unofficial unofficial
lol this doesn't have aroma or twrp and is just one i compiled by downloading the aokp source(which wasn't easy now that their ics branch seems to be gone lol) and has an older version of cwm 5.5.x.x or something like that bc i was having trouble with latest cwm but it should have every other change. It does include latest changes to the team acid kernel(jeffsf changes included and splash included since this is fb's rom) only reason i made this was because i was trying to build with linaro toolchain to test if it's actually faster lol anywho if fbis251 finds this to be intruding in his work i'll remove it...i dont plan on releasing just trying to see if that lights error is fixed on this build or i just dont get it lol
here paranoidANDROID-1.6a from source hopefully with the ligths issue fixed here as it works for me lol any feedback would be awesome
paranoidANDROID-1.6a
finally im not responsible what happens to your device from flashing this...
clean flash the rom the ics gapps...if u need any more info to flash then this isnt for u enjoy.
I will be adding random builds like linaro builds if i can get it to build lol and other stuff just for fun

Glad the LB6 modem is getting some use. You find better signal with it?

My GPS locks in faster than ever. I can get 7-8 satellite locks indoors in 3-5 minute so I know the modem is fine for GPS.
Not using your ROM but the LB6 modem. This is after 5 mins indoors.

Thanks for working on this. These are the "bugs" I've come across so far:
No auto brightness (not implemented) - Any flashable zips out there to fix this?
No/weak GPS lock (NY, USA) - Not sure which modem to get, worked on AOKP m6b5
Can't flash TWRP, same error as when trying to flash it from CWM 6.0.1.0 (Status 7)
Any help is greatly appreciated and let me know if there is anything I can do to make your job easier.

I actually do. Been using it for a whole day and it has been providing very little battery drain with very consistent network signal. I think its the best one I've ever tried. I live in Miami, Fl if anyone was wondering

Hows your GPS lock?
Let's not hijack his thread with modem things, keep them in my modem thread instead and keep this for Q&A/bugs with his build.

Lol I don't mind the talks so long as they aren't about nothing lol if that makes any sense haha anyways anyone try this rom and can provide feedback about the capacitive buttons?
----------------------------------------------
If helped don't be afraid to hit the thanks button it doesn't bite lol

Good job dude (erik), I just finished syncing w aokp source but had problems w building so, I will pause it til this weekend and take Jeffsf's advice then ...and great to here u built this w linaro toolchain ...
Sad thing is, I dropped my phone while sleeping (LMFAO WTFG) and now, (after a drop bfore), screen crack and somehow it is acting xtremly weird like wacky touchscreen and suddenly shut down blabbla...^^...yeah, thats that, time to say goodbye to this phone now haha (or will try to borrow one from my friend quick cause still want to build sth for this )...so, galaxy Y for me now lol
P/s: yay, managed to borrow one from my friend for a week (lucky to have a friend using same phone) so, will try hard to build things this week

OK, so at first the weather panel wouldn't show in the notification drawer and on the lockscreen it read N/A. I fixed permissions and now it shows up in the notification drawer but it can't seem to find my location, same with 3rd party weather apps. I tried disabling it in ROM control, clearing caches, re-enabling etc. Navigation works fine, so it's a weird one. I tried flashing the padded KJ6, but it's the same thing.
Can I just pull some files from the FBs AOKP to this one (from zip to zip) to apply the auto brightness fix?

I'm not really a GPS junky, but for me it locked on pretty fast while I was driving, almost instantaneously. I will test some more and figure out how to more accurately give details on GPS

Either that's amazing, or you have a hole in your roof

Don't try that just yet. It'll be a little bit until erik probably gets the hefe KoD changes merged into this rom. (DO IT! It's pretty easy, just make a new branch and pull from jeff's repo, there are only two changed files I believe)
I think jeff would know best which binaries will be different in the output zip so that you can pull from rom to rom but I still wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah I can wait (getting a Note II tomorrow) so I'll just go back to your build for now.

i added paranoidANDROID from source on here lol

echoHD is Evo 4g rom based off of incredibledoes Desire HD port. My main goal for this rom is to have a quick and stable Sense HD rom. So far I have the quick down. Stability wise it can be used as a daily rom but a couple features don't work at moment. If you want a Sense HD rom they all (at the moment) have stuff not working. If you can deal with a couple things not working I think you will be very pleased with this rom. Feel free to leave feedback of any sort. If your having issues in the rom please post in detail what is going on. If possible also post a logcat or PM me a logcat. That way I can get the issue fixed ASAP.

in your modifications is there any way to get rid of those gawd aweful green picks/arrows on the recent apps in the notification drop down.
this was a huge issue for me on the other HD ports because you cant read the name of the app with those in the way.. and it just looks completely retarded.
if they cant be removed so be it, but i cant figure out why anyone would ever code those into the GUI

No big deal! rom does seem to be very good
Well if it helps in the mean time, if you give your phone a static IP it will connect to your WIFI. It just doesn't like DHCP at the moment.
great rom, noticed speed improvement over the others. However I can't get wifi to work, even after setting static ip. Care to tell me how you got it to work with the static ip.

Sorry about late response. I fell asleep at my computer last night haha anyways I'm not sure how your network is setup when it comes to your default gateways and all but make sure you have a good DNS address. I put 8.8.8.8 which is Google's (fitting I know).
I think I found where its giving me issues. I will keep an eye on the thread and hopefully have it uploaded by today.

[Brave Souls only][WIP] Sensible test builds [2.3.3] [6/30] Sensible_Salsa

alright so i am making this thread since the sensible gingerbread thread is getting a little hard to follow, when we get some of the stuff straightened out i will close this thread and put it in the other, there is just too much other clutter in the sensible thread
so here is where we are at:
Sensible_Salsa
6/30
-ported against salsasense in the hero forums
-bluetooth works
-sensors work again
-everything else should be working except
-Borked -Usb mass storage (if you flash a .35 kernel it starts working again, its weird but i dont have the time or know how to look into it.)
-Borked -Carrier label reads no service (i have no idea how to fix it)
6/11
-mms size fix
-htc hub fix
-some minor spring cleaning
6/5
-based off the newest Tazz RLS
-ported against Wild CDMA seems to have fixed the camcorder pixelation
-put a different default wallpaper in, if you guys know me the default wallpaper will be familiar
-put the APN fix in
-your standard verizon to sprint build.prop changes for that classy touch
-a funny easter egg, because hey i gotta have fun too
6/2
-apn changes attempt to fix (not the one flyingemu posted)
-a few other minor changes nothing big here
using this base
-3d textures work
-it also puts us on the same base as tazz so fixes should work for both
-market does have a verizon tab if i remember this is a simple build.prop edit to fix
-camcorder seems borked on playback i didnt really look into it too heavily
-nav works too
this is a step closer, i will try playing with the apns again but this is a big step forward
DO A FULL WIPE DONT POST ANY BUGS IF YOU DONT WIPE FIRST
in the next few test builds i am warning you i will likely set the rom settings to wipe everything when flashing, i would much rather be trouble shooting minor issues than trying to figure out why when a person flashed this over CM7 is caused an issue, not trying to be a **** just trying to level the field i am working with.
whats not working
-gps (apparently sprint nav works which is a small victory)
-mms (this is the issue i am currently tackling i have a few leads and am going to look into them)
-bluetooth (likely will be a problem forever HTC driver also)
-a few other nicknacks this is the big stuff i am working on
EXTRA GOODIES
-Format all Zip (i flash this before every install i do hasnt given me any problems might be amend scripted though)
-Modded HTC camera app (may cause issues, credit goes where credit is due)
also for posting bugs tell me the following info
-test version right now 2 is the first one, but when more come this will be important and just call them by there name (might even give them funny pepper names too depending on how saucy i feel)
-if your using FR or not and your settings for it
-exactly how to cause the problem and or what is FCing
thx kyle i still cant believe how much that thread blew up lol.
Im suprised how stable this still is. Icant wait for a finally product or however far you can take it.

Kyle, I was using the #589 uncapped and it worked well. The problem would be for those phones that can't handle more than 691.
I was having some issues with mild salsa 2. I did a logcat for a problem app that won't open for some reason ( it's a skeeball game), but I realized that it was the mild salsa-jm. #2 froze up on me a couple. Well give #3 a whirl.
Thanks.

[THEME/MOD]v21y 2.3.4 Arc'd Theme+QuickPanel MOD

As I was working on the current ROM I am trying to get going I got agitated and so for a break I themed it and made this while trying to get the extended toggles and tweaks to work right.
There is no need to do any wipes, as long as you are already on the stock 2.3.4 v21y rooted ROM that I posted. This theme is based off of the Xperia Arc UI and is FAR from complete, but I thought people would like something different with some functionality so here it is.
This will add the basic quickpanel toggles as well as the theme that I have included. All that is included so far is SystemUI, framework-res and some other small adjustments here and there.
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for anything you choose to flash to your phone.

3. Just flash the zip do not wipe anything.
4. Reboot.

LOL yeah, its not included here but I will do it in the next couple days. Im having a hell of a time with systemui acting right for some reason (probably all the smali edits). On what im running I have it already disabled and alot of other stuff, but its just insanely buggy at this point, so I put out the most stable thing I had for people to use.
I'm not sure why im having the issues I am, but its like nothing I have encountered before....

I kanged quick panel almost verbatim lol. But, there is differences in ALOT of the smali. Especially around USB, signal, and points like that. I would almost be willing to bet you MIGHT be able to try this on tsugi and it may...fix some of the issues.

Well, the good news is I didn't touch the USB or signal code at all. IIRC, Weapon had some changes to signal code related to how some of the lockscreens needed to access phone state, etc. Which is why I didn't mess with that code with a 10 foot pole!
The USB code looked like when LG first grabbed it, it had support for USB host in place, which they simply disabled. They may have messed some stuff up doing that, and fixed it for the final 2.3.4.
It is promising though that this isn't just a simple recompile of the leaked version, maybe we finally have a stable STOCK ROM for the g2x after all this time.
Awesome theme and toggles.
I think people are more about 3D looking toggles like these

lol weapons edits are not that bad. I have hella issues on 2.3.4 with signatures/non signed stuff. I see several small problems with 2.3.4 but they are easily fixed. First one is the dalvik rebuild issue you fixed with the repack, the literally kanged that code in.... The iffy wifi is visible in several spots too.

I resigned the entire ROM (except google apps) when doing Tsugi, so I may have avoided signature problems that way.
As far as Wifi, mine has settled down and is working well, though it has gotten "stuck" on an old wifi once this week. That's a problem I see on my TouchPad as well, so it may have to do with the Apple router at a friend's house which is the network they tend to get stuck on... the device will think it's still connected even when you're miles away, and of course, it isn't actually connected. Have to toggle wifi off and back on.
OH YEAH.....
Are you still using older versions of aapt/apktool/baksmali? Or have you updated to the latest versions? That could be an issue, might try switching versions to older and/or newer.
Love the animation. Sorry about my idea and the pngs if you don't like em. Just a random thought of mine. Sorry though. No hard "peeling" huh

Everything builds fine, I tried resigning everything, but....needless to say i can make my phone go into s/w by installing apps after i did it. I dont think the issue is with the version of the tools, its more to the sha5/sig checker in the newer version of the lg crapware.

Actually I want to release a rom one day thats completely in pieces. It will be like a treasure hunt of mods. Just giving the total package no one will ever learn anything except how to complain what they dont have xD

I've always kinda liked the Xperia launcher in various versions because Sony appears to have made FAST and LIGHT key words in their launcher. Too bad it is horizontal scrolling. But I put up with that because the launcher is just very clean.
Stock launcher has always bugged me... they tried to make scrolling "pretty" but instead they made it kinda "boomerang/springy" feeling... like you have to fight if you want to scroll fast.

Sony is definitely doing it right. Their images are super clean and well thought of along with their code. I'm debating on trying to do a port of a Sony rom just to try and for the beauty of their ui.

Oh yeah? it might not be the same then. Have a nandroid for me to compare? I've only tested it on my rom. I know you can't flash it at the same time as the rom, that's why I released it as a theme/mod.

AOKP Based (updated 8/4) V15: V15+Patch Includes AOKP updates, like Themes. added in some stuff from JR6 like camera and flash, chrome (doesn't seem to be working though, so reinstall from market). ^This update can be installed without a wipe (assumging you are coming from my ROM)! *GAPPS and motley's kernel baked in.
_motley's Kernel is great, I won't even try to build my own for the moment if his work keeps up.
Check it out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775798
At first: I built this based on source, took forever to get the kinks so it kind of built. Then pulled the rest from CM10 ports to make it finally boot.
hope to get the source working from scratch and have this as a full time rom BASED on AOKP and CM, with added features.
Thanx to AOKP and CM for all their hard work!!! without them we would have no where to start
source to come, please let me know what is broken so i can remove it and then fix it piece by piece.
ALSO, let me know what you want in this rom! like a tablet mode is a must, will be adding a switch for it also. what else you want?
Thanks also to:
AOKP for getting us to JB again, and to the toro community for their efforts earlier, which showed me we can finally start working on this!
Winner00 for the grouper files
CM for getting the us to where we are today
nocoast for getting me interested in doing this myself in his Google+ hangout one day
Changelog:
V15:
-Fixed Superuser
-Fixed Chrome
-Rebased on nightly + goodies
V14:Includes AOKP updates, like Themes.
-camera (Paulobrien)
-flash in browser (Paulobrien)
-chrome (doesn't seem to be working though, so reinstall from market). (Paulobrien)
-Rebased on nightly (biggest update was Themes)
V13:
- I am also trying out the launcher by SGT7 as I see they have worked on it and focus on tablet view a little, where AOKP was using Nova, and it doesn't work correctly with our DPI.
-Rebased on nightly
First! Wow, first time!

at the moment this is REALLY alpha, for AOKP itself. They haven't made a lot of stuff work in JB yet, so it's limited. The optimizations though should all be there from a ROM perspective, so should be smooth. Gotta work on Kernel optimizations and fixing (or removing) the toggles that aren't important. I removed a few and I noticed it now put the image to toggle relationship out of wack, so I am working on that. Might put the tablet mode on hold for a little while as there are a few options out there and I can't decide which way I want to go yet.
Awesome work! Thank you for this. Running smoothly from start, will report back.
Missing a few things from latest test build I noticed.
Nav bar options, volume wake, center clock.
Thanks again, looking forward to your progress!

ya I am now having to piece it all together to see why it's not pulling. I built this literally 7 hours ago so ALL of the commits should be there. Unfortunately the grouper pull from the tablet make files which haven't been touched yet, as they are all focusing on the Tuna to get it as close to what it was I assume for JB then, port it to everything else. So I am going to have to watch the commits for the phone side and integrate it to us, and then trouble shoot this crappy phablet UI which who KNOWs how many curve balls that will have. Might focus more on just making it tablet mode to help for the time being. We will see. I also have NEVER built a rom before, and can't seem to get the damn thing to work. The bootloader, ramdisk, etc. is all screwy at the end so this hurt me a little. Going to pull a full CM10 build I think also to compare and see how they are getting the grouper to work, even though their manifests look soooo similar. I'm missing something. back to work on these toggles

ok time to get a little shut eye then back to it, I was hoping to pull some stuff straight from the working toro build, but crashes everything. I am goign to go back to code in a few hours, compare differences in phone vs tablet, and then compare changes they pushed in ICS to help close this gap. Have a lot of free time this week so I'll get it all worked out.
Isn't my first time coding by any means. But it is my first time building on android. The repo for this is huge so took a while to wrap my head around.

back and working, navbar is top priority now. CM finished pulling while I caught some shut eye so that should help the bootloader issue I hope I was having (requiring me not to need to hack the final files together into a zip would be nice!) Will update on bootloader (then purge the toggle) soon. Then might look at tablet mode, wonder how nav bar will react in that..... hmmmmm time to boot the latest on my nexus to check real fast.
Happy to see AOKP make it's way to the N7

I still don't have a development box to start developing so that first before the WIP since I would need to pull the whole CM build and compile it just to make this recovery. I don't think my good old vps is enough to do this kind of job and I'm not also considering to reformat my windows PC just for this.
I think it has been a pretty good summer for development on our MT4GS. We've got a nice crop of ICS roms to choose from, either AOSP or CM or several Sense flavors. It's a smorgasbord! :highfive:

Well Sun_Dream has worked on our phone with a bit of Sense roms if you dig that.

Ok so where I'm at now. I have figured out I didn't need to use anything from the EVO Shift to get this LG launcher up and running. So its not a port anymore ( so it lost andromaus settings which were cool but caused wakelocks ), its more so a launcher replacement, all other cm9 functions work like they should. So right now I'm trying to figure out how to post it, and here are my posting options I can either
1. Just package all the launcher and widgets as a flash over for any CLEAN INSTALL OF AOSP/AOKP ( will need testers for AOKP ). And a certain set of gapps so the gallery don't get broken
Or
2. I can just pre package everything into a CM build ( gapps and all ) so nothing gets broken. Its your call here is a couple screen shots. And if anyone wants to give it a try just pm me ill get you a dropbox link
