managing program folders

I am flabbergasted: I can't find a way to manage the folders in Programs. How do I create an application sub folder and how do I move applications into it? This should be intuitive but I just don't find it. Thanks for your help
Using a file explorer (I use Resco), navigate to Windows>Start Manu>Programs. Then Menu>New Folder. You can then move or copy shortcuts as you wish. If you're going to be doing a lot of this, you can also just do it from your PC via Activesync>Exlplore or by using a remote control program like Pocket Controller.
thanks emesbe, but I probably wasn't clear: what I am trying to manage is the icons in "Programs" (e.g. Media, Tools, Games...). How do I move applications in or out? How do I create a new folder of applications?
We may be ships passing in the night here, but I think the answer I gave you is what you are looking for. "Programs" is in the Start Menu subdirectory in Windows. You can rename, move or create new folders in Programs and then put whatever shortcuts you want into them.
It took me a while to figure out what you meant. I still find the process very unintuitive. But thanks a lot
Consider Using A PC
If you have a PC configured with Activesync, why not use it to make the changes. It's a lot easier using a mouse and keyboard, and the familiar Windows interface over Resco or Total Commander.
If you don't want to sync your Fuze to the PC, that's OK, just click cancel on the first PC popup, and you can still "explore" the device from your PC.
Then, from the Activesync window on the PC, click explore, navigate to Windows (takes a while to load) / Start Menu, and move things around to your heart's content using your mouse.
Some files or folders may be marked read only or system. You can sometimes change this from the PC using right-click/properties. Sometimes, you will need to use Resco or TC from the device to change these attributes, but you can then drag/drop from the PC.

copying side apps from windows phone

Hi,
I had deployed an application on my phone, unfortunately my hdd crashed and all source was lost. There is hope to recover the source if I can copy the deployed app from my hd7. Any bright ideas?
- make your phone visible in Windows Explorer as Zune device;
- using TouchExplorer, copy your dll to documents/pictures (you need to experiment), then copy from Zune drive to PC;
- use Reflector to restore your source code;
Browse forums for #1-2, google for #3
Is touchxplorer safe to use? Does it change modes on the phone to get file system access?
I did rather not use apps like dfrouter...
Yes, it's safe. You can revert everything back.
great app! to my surprise I was able to find all the install dlls for my app. To recover I just renamed them to txt which made the phone think its an office doc thus enabling the email option.
no need to mess with registry settings to turn phone into usb disk.
I"m using wpdm to transfer side apps ringtone to my hd7.

Suggestion computer program to show apk pic

Suggestion to developers:
While arranging my external sources apks on my windows computer, i thought about a small program that when installed to computer, shows the apks stored in it with icons or pictures of the apk, so we could arrange them more easily not depending on only name of the apk, but the internal icons or pictures within the apk will apear in normal file explorer of windows like they appear on phone or at least make program that when we add apks to it, let them appear inside it with internal icons for arrangement purposes of external unknown sources apks on computer
we could begin with program for windows, then extend support to apple and linux computers

Convert Any Android Into Windows 10 ?!

Hello Guys, Today in this article i am going to tell you that how you can convert your Android into a PC (Windows 10). And this is something awesome cause it's gives you an amazing experience of using a Windows OS PC because of it's Super cool interface.
This app is basically a Launcher which will give you the Look & Feel of using a Windows 10 desktop pc on your Android Phone. It almost look like Windows 10 And Remember You Can Also Use This App In Landscape Mode To Get More Real Experience.
It has a Start Menu which look exactly like Windows 10 start menu where you can get all your android apps. You also get settings options like wifi, Bluetooth, flash, kill task, data, etc awesome settings & Messaging, Call & Browser Apps on the taskbar which make this Launcher more Easy to use. Also i never found any issues or bugs with this app and i am using this Launcher as my primary Launcher for around 4 days, So it's definitely not an issue to use this Launcher on daily basis.
It also has a file explorer like the windows 10 file explorer Where Local Disk "C" is your phone's internal storage & Local Disk "D" is your external sd card And the cool thing is that it also have a recycle bin like any other windows os which makes the user experience more real. When you delete any file it will first go to the recycle bin then from there you can restore or permanently delete it. To restore files from recycle bin you just have to cut or copy the file and paste it wherever you want. You can also change the pc name to whatever you want to keep. It's just a few things I have told you about this awesome app, You will get more when you explore!

Question Transfer music over USB closes file explorer

I am trying to copy a large amout of music to the internal storage of my S22 Ultra with a USB-C to C 3.1 Gen 2 cable on Windows 11 (also tried another PC with 10). When I paste the files into the Music folder, the transfer starts like normal but then file explorer just closes and the computer makes a sound like the phone has been disconnected. I've managed to get it to work in the past by transfering much smaller amounts of files but I don't see why large volumes do this. Am I missing something? I takes so long to manually select these files I just want to do it all at once.

The problem is most likely with the USB port on your laptop. Otherwise, try using another cable.
If you have power saving enabled for your USB ports on your laptop, try disabling it and see if that helps.
Try in safe mode using Samsung's My files.
If that works try in normal mode.
Try toggling Developer options temporarily off.
Bad cable or port.
Incorrect Windows driver.
Check Windows Event Viewer for error messages.
On my N10+'s I transfer 240+gb a shot with no issues... however if the PC 'hiccups' it will drop the transfer. Occasionally I see that happen.
Don't run other programs or use during transfers and mind the power settings/states of both devices, adjust as needed for transfers.
My OTG flashsticks generally do better.
Always verify data size and file number after transfer and... readability.
This isn't a device or laptop problem.
I had this many times on all my devices.
Check the file names.
For example my file transfer on any android phone crashes/stops with errors if the file name is something like
LitOldschoolHipHopMixtape .mp3 - Has space between name and file extension
or
LitMixtape '90s Style.mp3 - has ' in the name
or
⛥Dxrk ダーク - RAVE⛥.flac - emoji/text symbol
or
Ночной дрифт 藤原 car music collection.aiff - multi language name
Checking the file names would be the first step to do if you experience such issues.
If you are connected with PC/Laptop and Phone to same network, try with this app here
On Windows you go to file explorer (if on Windows 7 or earlier, use FileZilla), right click on This PC, add a network location, on the address bar type ftp:// and your ip address. For example ftp://127.0.0.1:8080

Yeah... I never allow anything other than plain text in file or folder names.
If needed I edit them when they're downloaded.
The KISS principle applies here.
All media files especially downloads are always kept in their own separate folder if added to the database. That can provide an extra security layer that will stop some malicious scripts if they get into the main folder. One scripted jpeg will make a believer out of you

I've run into this issue too when copying my music collection (about 180GB). I think it is because of the amount of data you are copying. I ended up copying smaller chunks at a time. Usually around 10 to 15 GB of data at a time.
I narrowed it down to specific files and changed the file names. Thanks @MichalPlays
