Ran stock, that was super laggy; then switched to CM9 then CM10 which has been great. As I understand it TeamHacksung will probably not support the IR Blaster. I looked into the JB leak for GT-P5113 but that does not seem to have working IR either (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881218).
What is the best ROM with IR Blaster support?
Looking to replace my Harmony One + Lenovo N5902 with TouchSquid + XBMC Remote (going to RaspberryPi).
Searched the forums didn't see any suggestions (other than Tab2Lite)
Tired of waiting for JB OTA
Thanks in advance

I've been searching for info on this as well and it seems there isn't a whole lot of interest as of yet on the developer side to get the IR blaster operational. Sucks because I love the responsiveness of my 5113 on cm10.1. It seems better all around than ICS, even enabling usb charging, but the IR blaster is definitely useful so I look forward to seeing further updates.
really hope it's addressed soon

Thank you very much! I have been using this ROM since mid June.

I have been having trouble finding a kernel that supports MHL, and a decent ROM in which to run said kernel. I really like SKY and Embryo for their call recording functionality, but I also require the MHL HDMI support. I have heard that CM 10 runs MHL well, however my problem remains that I need a good ROM that supports the kernel without a brick/ineffiiciency. I am currently on GB 2.6.35 on a custom NEXUSMOD ROM and it simply doesn't cut it. If I can just flash my kernel that would be ok too.
Try them for yourself find what works if your too lazy for that then this isn't the site for you

Any cm10 Rom
Lightning kernel
but waffle is right, research bro
Yea, so far Im running Sky ICS, an older version because I like the call recording features; and the MHL is supported. CM10 is pretty awesome however I really do fancy the built in call recording! Thanks for the reply

CM10. Works really well. Other than than, just try them all out. Grab one a day until you find one you like.
Good luck.
mhl question
I'm not sure if this fits but i had a problem with mhl using CM10 (stable; kernel:kernel that came with it)
When i plug the adapter in the screen auto rotates to landscape, I'm ok with that, but the problem is any app (ex: temple run) that only has portrait mode isn't displayed. All I see is a black screen on my TV. I saw on youtube people with stock roms display portrait stuff so I was wondering if it was possible on CM. Anyone have similar problem? Help plz?
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with and idea of the best ROM that has MHL support included. I am using King Kang right now and apparently CM10 is not supporting it. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions, I miss my netflix on the large screen.
Thanks in advance
Guess Ill answer my own question for reference reasons. MHL only works with Sense ROM's at this time. And will NOT work with CM10.
No AOSP ROM has MHL support so far?
Hi all,
My i815 is coming in tomorrow. I've been digging around for the best ROM to put on it, and I wanted to get some opinions. I would love to do Iocerra's CM 10.1, but I'd rather like to use the IR functionality of this tablet. It looks like this ROM may be my best bet, but I'm not 100% sure its fully operational.
Any thoughts?
The main functions I need are 3G/4G, GPS, hot spot, and IR.
Any insight is much appreciated! Having a Galaxy Nexus with Jelly Bean and having this thing on Honeycomb tomorrow is going to drive me nuts I'm pretty sure.

If you want 100% features, go with the ICS "leak" -- the rom you linked to.
Otherwise, CM 10.1 has the best support as no other custom roms support data or the GPS on the i815.
Samsung includes all the apps you need (and all the apps you DON'T need) for stuff like the IR blaster.
What JB features are you going to miss on ICS?

Thanks for the reply. I am going to really miss the butter.
My i815 came in today and actually came with 4.0.04 already on it! I was stoked to see that. Its pretty fluid, definitely workable to keep all of the features. This will do for now, although I do wish someone would be willing to fix the IR blaster, but I assume no one wants to because it might be a ton of work for little payoff in the grand scheme of things.
Thanks, again.

ICS isn't all that bad. I did disable most of Samsung's bloatware, though.
I've noticed that I get MUCH better blacks on CM 10.1 though. When I used LCD testing program that makes the entire screen go black on the stock ICS rom, it really was more like a glowing dark grey. On CM 10.1, I do the same in a pitch-black room and see only a hint of light. Have you tried testing your AMOLED screen yet and/or noticed anything similar?
Well according to me the best is CM10.1 but there are some problems with calling, GPS & Bluetooth. So, use CM10...

CM10 doesn't support GPS.
Has anyone had any luck tracking down a decent ROM (much preferably one as close to vanilla android as possible) that actually still has working MHL? I've done a good bit of searching through most of the individual ROM threads and it seems like this is something that is hardly ever mentioned. I realize that it's missing in CM, much to my sadness as that has been my best experience with a custom ROM thus far. need something that works with my appradio 2!
I'm on $droyd$'s jellybean nonsense build 6 right now and it's not bad, but still too HTC-y for my tastes (plus i'm on hboot 1.14.0004 right now so no wifi for me )

Dark jelly s edition supports OTG im using bubba kernel along with this... Will check the MHL availability and will post back...
Cheers
This interests me too. In my test of different ROMs I found that trick droid and viper work but make the phone freeze after the mhl cord is removed. Black bean, avatar, jellybam and codename lungo don't work with mhl. None of the awesome cm based ones are supposed to work with hdmi
I keep going back to nonsense which has since been closed. I only have version 4 and version 6 seems to be unavailable for download. Now after almost 5 months as my daily driver I started having Bluetooth issues and I have to load music via USB from the recovery since that must have been removed from it.

I got the same results

Hello all, so I have rooted and used a few roms on my phone, but went back to stock so the video recorder worked properly. But the camera issues have taken a back seat. I am a trucker and sit for hours at loading docks, so thought Id get some emulators, and a wii mote and classic controller.
First off my phone is on Rogers in Canada, model sgh-i997R, firmware 2.3.3, kernal 2.6.35.7-i997ruxkg3-cl366622, build number gingerbread.uxkg3
My questions are : Seems the last last OS to support wiimotes is 4.1.2. Am I correct in this?
Through searching, I have found these roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859208&highlight=+4+1+2 which seems dead with broken links.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954527&highlight=+4+1+2 seems ok
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874000&highlight=4+1+2&page=45 which is locked, and last posts are talking bout just barely getting it to boot, doesnt seem too stable.
Am I missing any? I realize its an older OS so my options may be limited.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Edit: Also going to install a Tab 2 into my car, and will be using phone to tether it to for wifi, so good tethering capabilities is also important in a rom. Any suggestions?

Because from what I am reading, the last OS version to support a wiimote is 4.1.2
4.2 and higher no longer works with a wiimote. I have froyo now but it doesnt support it either. Something about samsungs bluetooth stack doesnt let it connect.

I'd say flash 4.2.2 and try it out for yourself. If it doesn't work, it isn't hard at all to flash back to 4.1..
