It's been confirmed that Atirx 2 won't be getting any more updates :crying:
It will stick to Android ICS 4.0.4, however there is a deal for the US Customers only - trade up program.
For Rest of the World, be happy with Atrix 2 and ICS as there are no hopes for any such deal or any update !!!

That's kind of a stupid statement,***mod edited***... The ICS releases that are out now are just like stock AT&T ota ics... Do you think they're going to change the rom completely or give us aosp ota??? The releases that we have are as close to stock as they are gonna get, only thing they're doing now is getting bugs out or adding apps from the carriers that they want... Have you tried all of the ICS roms out there? I've been running seanz ucle2 ics release rom and I've had absolutely no problems... As long as you read/follow the instructions completely everything should be fine... And thinking about this, the skyrocket is from AT&T not from google so we're never going to get stock ICS ota... OTA releases are not gonna be like aosp, aokp or cm9...
No no no I'm not a dev guys OK I ported the rom and the last release I only helped a bit I been busy on a few projects for the skyrocket community lol but to say the hard work and dedication that actual devs have put in is beneath you is a statement that I can not condone and actually is an insult to this site the roms in the dev section are far beyond what anything Samsung will ever do (/rant)

Hey guys,
Is there a Jelly Bean Rom for the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE i727r yet?
If so does it work well/are there any bugs?
Thanks!

Read the jelly bean thread.
This thread will probably be locked.
Not trying to be a jerk just saying.
If we had a jelly bean rom ready to go then u would definately know it. We will get jb when we get jb and that's that. The devs are working on it. Be patient

wow... 4 people responded to this post, and only one told the op the thread would be closed, smh.
just as a quick note, every versions of android beyond 4.1 is considered jellybean. if you guys are talking about 4.2, Google considered that an update to 4.1, and kept the same name moniker.
if the op is asking for any jellybean ROM based on 4.1, any of the first 7-8 in the android dev subsection is based on this.
if 4.2, we have one 4.2 based cm10 beta, but cm10 based code for 4.2 isn't quite stable for the snapdragon s3 platform (aka CPU in our phone) yet
also, as another note, if u were asking about 4.1, this is basic information that EVERY user should know, if u didn't u honestly shouldn't be flashing... if asking about 4.2 please ignore this ^^ and just be more clear in ur op

He asked that question back in July of 2011. At that time, there was only Jelly Bean 4.1. Most of the AOSP ROM's, and two TouchWiz JB ROM's: Embryo 6.0 and the leak.

I had upgraded to ICS officially through kies on my PC. It isn't the same as the galaxy nexus ICS for example. Is there a way to get it to the non-bloatware ICS without touchwiz and rogers apps and stuff? Also it seems like this ICS update is lagging my phone like crazy. I have like 500 mb ram used at any given time.
Maybe check the development section.....

Ofcourse the 2 devices are different .. SR is an at&t device i.e. the put their brand on it , bloatware , apps etc...
Galaxy Nexus is a pure Google device made by Samsung , you would get the cleanest Android experince the possible , and the erliest as well compaired to the rest of the world in every update ...
If you don't like the stock ICS , See the dev section for custome ROMs and you might like something there...
Did some one know that Is the official Jelly Bean update is coming to Asian atrix 2?
As from the China leak version Motorola is developing the jb romantic for atrix 2. Will it loch ota update soon.
Samsung is updating galaxy s 2, and even galaxy ace 2 to jb. Our phone is definitely way better than ace 2.
Is someone have any idea about ota jb update.
Don't think so.
No. See here:

It says:
"This offer is currently available in the United States. We plan to roll out the program to *OTHER COUNTRIES OVER TIME, so stay tuned for more news."
I still think that means no. I haven't seen anything that would indicate otherwise. However, over in the development section there is Paranoid Android, Magic Mod, CM10, and CM10.1. That's not to mention two JB leaks. You should try any/all of those if you haven't already. In my opinion, the devs here will take far better care of you than Motorola will.

I don't believe in motorola anymore. So, we are not getting that promotion in other countries.
Trading the product is costing more for Motorola hence instead of trading it might think to develop jb for other countries cost less.

Even after conforming that atrix 4G is not even updating to ICS. Still ICS rom is under soak testing. Definitely Motorola is rethinking about update their device.
Well, in whatever way I look at it, Motorola has been true to its word (if only after becoming Googlerola)
As per Google Diktat, they have to provide SW updates for 18 months. They leaked and released ICS and JB now. If you talk about Sammy, then, please note that the 'flagship' Galaxy S2 was only just updated to Jellybean (officially), the S Advance shipped with GB on launch when Jellybean, or atleast ICS was the norm.
Also, see the quality of the update provided. I was appalled to see Jelly bean namesake updates on many a handset, with no optimization as such. This 'Leak' Motorola Jellybean is as good as an official version in my books.Install it, and experience the fluid interface is all I suggest.
Even from when motorola is bought by google we are getting updates with stock ui as in nexus and so I think google is providing updates and hope we get official jb ota

So I've been going over my options for for getting Google Now on my phone, and lamenting the lack of Jelly Bean support, and I'm finally starting to feel like maybe trying out a ROM like Cyanogenmod. Just one question: if I try this, can I go flash stock again if I don't like it?
Always..
Sent from my ME865 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can.
Use Motorola's RSDLite tool and fxz file from sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/list.php
Make sure you are using fxz that is same or newer version than what you have on the phone.
version 5.5 is GB
version 6.7 is ICS
SlimBean cm10.2 is really good custom ROM.
