[Q] Manually flashing the OTA ICS update. - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry for may be a noob question to some of you;
How can I manually flash the last ICS OTA update: N8000XWALI4 (the small update which is almost 75 MB), I didn't receive this update via my GT N8000 or KIES, I just found the update on sammobile, tried to flash the update via mobile ODIN, but I couldn't find any file with .tar, .md5 or .smd extensions in the unzipped folders.
Is there any other way for manually applying this update?
Regards

As far as I know you must be on the correct base version before trying an update like this.

ICS OTA i9020A

Does anyone from Brazil (or some near country) received the ICS OTA? I'm back to 2.3.6 - just to see how the update is going here - and not even a clue about the OTA. Tried check in, clearing data of Google Framework, etc... I know I can flash the OTA but would be nice to see some better update support here
Thanks!

Ha..ha....ha...... not funny
Did you flash a zip that contains stock kernel, stock rom and stock recovery? And of course did the superuser app appear in the app drawer after first boot?

hehe im not a noob on it. i have installed the images from google ( https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#soju ) without superuser, so im on stock 2.3.6 with bootloader unlocked only and CWM touch (this shouldnt matter for OTA AFAIK).
EDIT: oops, forgot to delete the install-recovery.sh so im with stock bootloader as well

Hi! I'm from Uruguay.
First of all, lets make it clear that I'm a Big NOOB on android. My Nexus S is my first android phone.
I've a brand new Nexus S, updated with Android 2.3.6. I've tried to update over OTA, but the phone displays that the software is up to date, giving me no chance to update to ICS.
I didn't make any modification in the software of my phone.
Thanks.

Download Motorola Software Update on your pc. Or the service centre will update for you in 10 minutes.
You can use the latest cheesecake leak. It is the same build. Download to your laptop -> SD card. Read the leak thread to know how to apply.
Yes. I got it too downloading now.

Hi all, can you give me the backup file of ICS offical India version? I am very need this. thks advance.
Just to Clarify
Just to make it clear, the OP (and 1 other) is looking for the Official ICS Release for India in downloadable Rom format.
I edited the title to make it more clear.
As one other user said, the "leaked" ICS build is in the Dev Section. Same build number. Just look for it.

Getting OTA updates after Rooting

Well, this is My 1st post around
I got N8013 that have been rooted with CWM and flashed the rom with 4.1.1 Jellybean , since then I cant get the OTA updates
and the device is lagging wihile typing on S-NOTE app
any Suggest how to recover the tap to original statue to get OTA updates ? that may fix the S-Note problem
You could try 're-flashing' using Odin with the stock firmware downloaded from Samfirmware.
You might have to do a factory reset as well.
There is no OTA update available yet for the N8013

You will not get any OTA bec you have flashed a rom that does not belongs to your region so that wont work
No JB update for 8013 so just stick to what u are on and when the update is out just install that and your ota will start working
I have the update available on a stock 4.0.4 android gt n8013.
Had rooted through exynos without using the patch.
Device status is 'normal'. Can i just do OTA?

Deborah

Help with ota JB update

Hello every one I've been trying to install the new JB update from Samsung but everytime I try to install the firmware when it gets to 24% it just restarts and a window pops up telling me the installation failed. I've tried flashing both stock kernel and stock recovery but still no dice. I think it's because of the root. I've tried googling for an unroot but can't seem to find one. Can anyone help me out in my Delima I really want JB lol.
The attachment is a screen shot of my note's software specs. Thanks.

Samsung official updates are not via Odin either Kies or OTA or both .
Root and or wrong CSC is liable to block OTA update .
CSC changer wipes the phone .

I don't believe you can OTA if your csc and firmware don't match up. if you flash the correct firmware for the region that you tablet came with originally you may be able to OTA. I flashed the German 4.1.1 onto my 8013. I went back to the original ICS for my model and was unable to OTA, but was able to update to 4.1.2 successfully through KIES. my system status was custom tho .
Any update requires the codes to match firmware on the server .

Just root it, and install a custom rom. I find it much more reliable to myself being responsible to update my phone, rather than relying on samsung or your carrier.

Thank you for your tip but really I have a bad experience with rooting from my old motorola razr to xoom ( lag, freezing, etc) :/

I checked at sammobile.com for the UK 4.1.1 firmware under info you can see the pda and the csc of each firmware I checked my tablet also and they are the same as uk
That mean they match and I can recieve ota ?
