hi can you explain this situation on root? - HTC One S

Hi guys...in this moment is there somebody that is working to obtain root permession withouth unlock bootloader? is there this possibility?

bro, come on wrong section
ask in Q/A or in General section, you will get more answers there man.
and no I dont think you can root without unlocking bootloader.. maybe am wrong though

You can't..to root you need to flash a zip in recovery. You'd know that if you READ the stickies in this forum and READ the rules to NOT post in the developer section!

You'll have to excuse my friend, he's a little slow

Sorry guys... I opened more sections and i thought that i opened this thread in Q e A...sorry... I ask to moderator of moving this thread, please

Because the bootloader can be unlocked nobody is going to waste their time trying to find root exploits.

Please take more care when opening a thread.

The previous one click root method for HTC one x also worked on one s, but only if you are on 1.74. I tried it on my fido one s and it worked without unlocking bootloader. But now I have applied 1.84 ota update so this method no longer worked.

hmmm.... 9 posts and you can post in the developersforum??
Anyway, look for your answer in the general section, lots of posts there for what you want (downgrading). And for the record, you can't flash a carrier branded ROM on a non-carrier branded phone unless your phone has a SuperCID
And you must relock it before you flash any RUU

Ditto. I think we should make it a policy to stop answering questions from users not adhering to simple guidelines...
Something has to be done about this... its happening too often now.
I have personally made a resolution to stop helping people who post Q&A and General topics in the DEV forum... Enough is enough.

10+ post does make your typing skills faster, but not make you a developer. I posted about 90 times and did not developed anything. So I ain't a developer (just for example).
By the way, if you look at the forum you will see its an Android development forum. Since we are in the desire s section, I can tell you that android for desire s is developed right here..
Never used that damn word that often...

help with root (htc sensation)

I'm on stock ics I have unlocked my bootloader. I tried rooting it through all in one kit but my phone reboot and stay on the HTC logo screen intill I take the battery out and restart it but its not rooted still. I follow the guides accordingly but can't require root. After unlocking bootloader do I need to s off first then root please help I can even pay
wrong section, you n00b.
flash a rooted custom rom via recovery, and you have the root access. you don't need to root until you want to keep your stock rom
read more, follow guides and watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA
delete this thread.
thread shouldn't be here and there's tons of noob friendly guides to show you.
but to answer your question yes S-Off first

It is the wrong section because unlocking the phone or rooting it belongs in Q&A as you are asking a Question and need an Answer to get your problem solved.
It isn't a collaboration of people finding a way to make a s-on phone permanently s-off or unlocking a bootloader or giving it engineering capabilities for all of XDA. Therefore nothing is being developed.
The place you want to post your question to quickly get an answer is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443587

as kohr-ah said it is in wrong section
and coming to the topic
as you are htc-dev unlocked
try my one click root tool..from my soff guide (link in my signature)
if you've unlocked your bootloader it should say (unlocked) at the top of the bootloader screen. you dont really need to s-off your phone just yet, if your phone has updated to ics it will already have the latest firmware already installed, so if i was you id install adb/fastboot then just use fastboot to flash your recovery instead of jumping to s-off you dont want to be messing that up
I think your in the wrong place if you have questions there's q&a part that you need to go

This is from the very first thread stating the rules for this forum
[MANDATORY] RULES FOR DEVELOPMENT Updated 21.03
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS FORUM IS ONLY FOR RELEASING AND DEVELOPING ROMS AND KERNELS.
SOME GUIDES REGARDING S-OFF AND FLASHING WILL BE ALLOWED BUT MOST WILL BE LINKED IN A REFERENCE THREAD
•Try to keep the development forum CLEAN! No offtopic posting and no questions.
•Use the report button in an offending post to let us mods know we need to take action. Dont take matters into your own hands!!!
•Sources need to be posted for all kernels!!!
•You need to use TAGS like [ROM] or [KERNEL] and so on as used in all dev forums throughout XDA
•Any disputes between developers should be handled by pm. No public posting in a dev thread regarding these matters
•Rom issues should be discussed within their respective threads
•Thread titles should ALWAYS coincide with ROMS ALREADY AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD!!! No advance notification of incoming ROM through thread title. A changelog for the yet unreleased Rom can be included in the OP or in another post CLEARLY MARKED as EXPECTED CHANGELOG
•Posting in the development section means automatic ACCEPTANCE of the above Rules
All posts that are NOT about ROM development, or development in general will be closed or deleted and posters that will choose to disregard the previous guidelines will be infracted.
As you can see only roms and kernels should be allowed in this thead. If you have a question it needs to go into the Q&A section or if it is about a particular rom that has been posted here it needs to go in that rom thread.
ok ok sorry
Ok I'm sorry if this post hurt your feelings because I posted in the wrong forum, I'm truly sorry ill take it down soon as I get home

man dude you rocks im rooted and flashed my phone now hanks

Why can't I find the root instruction thread?

I'm looking to root the Sensation 4G by T-mobile but there isn't a thread labeled ROOT. What am I missing?
My hboot is 1.18.0000
I searched the entire "sensation android development" page for the word root and nothing came up. All other phones I've dealt with have a sticky that says something about root instructions.
Please someone point me in the right direction
Dude theres a Q&A section for a reason

Why? not searching enough What about searching for guide? [Guide] to Installing S-off, Unlocking, ClockWork, Root, SuperCID & S-on And as above use Q&A section for question and problems
WOW that thread is on the 4th page, every other phone I've played with was on the first page. Thanks for the help and thanks to those who took the time to respond and criticize, but not help at all.

I am new

Is there an all in one, 1 click root for the Asus tf300t? I just got it and did an ota. it now reads jroo3 c.u-epad-10.4.2.12-20121122. I bricked my touchpad and do not want the same fate for this
Hmm root is not hard I guess you are already on jb so you like me will need an unlocked bootloader which can be done from Asus website. Then just root there is a tutorial in the tablets general forum.

Hey, no flaming here. You are a senior member, please maintain calm.
Please read these posts before starting to complain,
1. Rules for posting in this forum
2. Rooting your phone after updating to JB
3. All tools, firmwares, ROMs and guides in this thread.
As per the general consensus there is no 1-click root for JellyBean firmware. Only way to root is to unlock the bootloader.

Thank you for your polite response. This is not as easy as rooting my T999. Hope I get the hang of this before I return it
When I tried to install the root, I got a green android with a red triangle....
Would you be so kind to remove this thread and pose your question at the right place? You have more chances of getting the right answers and this public space stays organised

In order to root first you need to unlock your tablet. Beware, this will void your warranty as Asus registers the serial no of the device while unlocking and there is no workaround.
If you are okay with the above, you unlock the tab. The unlock app is in Asus website under downloads.
After unlock flash a custom recovery (most prefer TWRP).
Then from custom recovery flash the insecure superuser I.e. su files.
This is how most people here do it. Others may correct if I have misled OP.
The green Android in red triangle means it could not flash the update file.
In case of OTA the green Android will have spinning animation indicating the flash.
Please see the videos posted in the development section (sticky) before proceeding.
This tablet is a lot different from other Android devices, read up before messing up.
Good luck.

You people don't understand, there will NEVER be a root for locked bootloader on this device. Sorry :silly:
questions and answers like this are why this thread needs to be closed.

Moved to Q&A and closed.
Useless thread is useless, there is plenty of information on this. The simple answer is no, and we don't know if or when.
