[Q] How do I flash back to stock from 4.1.1? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to downgrade to Asus stock rom from EOS Nightly 74? I downloaded the stock zip file from the Asus site and installed it in CWM, but it didn't work. It just booted me back into EOS. I've been searching for a couple hours now, but I can't find anything.

I finally got Easyflasher to work. Never again. I'm no dev and I have no business tinkering.

Return to stock on JB Custom Rom?

Hello,
I was having many issues with my TF300T Tablet. Such as freezing and random rebooting, but no s.o.d. So I decided to put a custom rom on it. Since I was running Jelly Bean OTA, I flashed Hydro ROM. It did not fix the issues and the freezing became even more frequent. I have decided to send it back because the place I bought it from accepts it even when its unlocked. So can anyone tell me how to go completely stock, recovery and all? And if possible, to re-lock the bootloader?
Thanks!
P.S. if anyone can tell me how to fix the rr issues that would be great, i looked it up but no solution worked.
Just simply DL stock firmware from Asus http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T&p=20&s=16
Flash that bad boy
And boom.. all stock
stock recovery
unrooted
...as far as re-locking, there's no remedy for that atm

Nope, CWM says installation aborted. I used the cwm from the guide thread, not sure of the version atm but it has a gray background and cyan menus.
i would flash twrp mate then wipe everything and flash the stock firmware (but remember to extract the download once) then re flash twrp and then root job done mate
Thanks man for teling me to extract the zip file. Now i can reflash to stock, and send this back. Its a great tablet, ruined by its random rebooting issues.

[Q] Is it bricked or not?

Dear all
My tf700t stops at the first Asus monitor with nVidia logo down and unlocked at the top left. Have rooted it with unlocked it with Asus tool, rooted with "RootDebugfs," added TWRP via GooManager and tested several roms, but Asus will not boot. Having thus access to Fastboot and TWRP. The following roms is tried: "Mysticial ROM v1", "Team EOS ROM for the TF700" and "Maniacs ROM" for 4.0, but the same thing happens every time. Have tried all possible ways to delete cache but no result. I need help now.

It seems you picked three ROMS with problems to try for your 1st flash. I can't say anything about the Mystical ROM v1 (although it is based on a TF300 JB OTA) but the other 2 just may not boot at all (maniac is old old, and the EOS JB Rom v3 couldn't boot).
If you can try ZEUS v4 (ICS) or unofficial CM10 alphs latest 9/25 build (JB) you would be OK.
IF you are truly stuck, and you have a microsd card, follow the restore from a soft brick guide from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803343
Please note that this guide references the .26 update...if you updated to the .30 update, use that stock rom (I think you can get it from the same place). Just follow the instructions and you should be back at square one-stock. Re-root and reinstall TWRP, then choose a ROM more wisely, by reading the threads to see what is working well.

Sorry, no luck with the ZEUS v4. Same happen again. When booting, the first screen hangs....no weel either. Have been reading for 3 days now here on xda and tryed a lot of possible solutions. I cant get TWRP to mount a microsd card, have to rely on the pad itself. So, any other ideas?

Thanks for tips mister, since I dont can find the right version from ASUS I have to ask...in Europe is it the WW version i suppose to use, and its the Firmware not the Source code?

Why not installing a stock rom (the same version you had before the issues started) with TWRP, that should get you back on track.
Edit: Yes european version should be WW_SKU and please use the firmware not the source.
Got one step further ..or did I? Tryed to put in stock .30 used "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system blob" in fastboot usb-mode. Seemd ok until this message arrived: Failed to prosess flash system error (0x17003)
So, close but not there. There are some problem with flashing since other images also refuse to install. What now?

[Q] Question on ICS to JB update - Bootloader or Full?

Currently my TF300T is unlocked, rooted, ICS TWRP 2.3.1, nvflash blob files created (copies made and moved elsewhere) with AndroidRoot.mobi custom bootloader. I'm running stock ICS v9.4.3.17 and never ran any OTA's (one is downloaded/pending for install, but doesn't seem to do anything - likely because I'm unlocked?).
It's been recommended to just flash the JB bootloader & use a custom JB ROM rather than updating fully to JB (was said there are or had been, issues flashing the full JB from ASUS' website). With the nvflash blobs, I should be able to go back to ICS so I'd rather do a full update if possible. An earlier post [Q] Upgrade to JB bootloader from Unlocked ICS BL? asked the same but I need clarification on the answer (plus making sure - they were running ICS stock bootloader, not the custom from AndroidRoot like me):

just fastboot TWRP for ICS and then flash the 1st JB StockRom(dl from Asus and unzip once) in TWRP.
Then fastboot TWRP for JB, then flash the latest JB StockRom(dl from Asus and unzip once) .
Then fastboot TWRP for JB and then the Rom you like

If reading right, in fastboot mode first flash ICS TWRP (I ignore as I already have it), then from TWRP install the 1st JB Stock ROM zip, reboot into fastboot mode, flash TWRP for JB (or should I use nvflash?), and lastly, reboot into TWRP and install the latest ASUS stock ROM zip (v10.4.2.18).
Figuring my steps are correct, what version from ASUS is considered the 1st ROM? Currently only v10.4.2.17 and v10.4.2.18 are available. Also wondering why the need to flash an earlier version of JB and then the most current? And lastly, have others in same situation done this successfully or encountered any issues I should be aware of?
I did this a short time ago to go from BB6 on ICS bootloaded to BB6 on JB. All I did was dropped back to stock ICS, upgraded TWRP, then drop the unzipped zip of the latest ASUS release. This got me stock JB on JB bootloaded. I then flashed the next BB6 version and went on my way.
The only painful part was that the post called for moving the blob to a specific folder and creating a command file. None of that worked for me. But leaving the unzipped zip file in the root of the SD card and rebooting worked flawlessly.
Good luck.

Thanks! So you were going from another set of instructions but ended up just flashed twrp-jb and installed the unzipped zip of Asus JB release via TWRP (I left out the revert to ICS part since I'm already there)? And do you have nvflash installed? No issue running the JB version of TWRP prior to upgrading to JB (had thought bootloader or ... would have an issue with it)? Would seem like order should be reversed, I may not be understanding it all fully!
Had come across various instructions but none seemed to fit being unlocked/rooted/nvflash/... and wasn't sure if would require different steps. Again thanks.

I think you're right... I was on BB6 w/ICS bootloader (NVflashed, though I don't think it matters) and had to roll back to ASUS ICS ROM first, then rooted, then upgraded to ASUS JB ROM, and then it goes blurry. Not sure if I upgraded TWRP or rooted stock JB at this point.
In any case, I followed the "update to JB" thread to a tee, and all went well except for the step regarding the actual JB update.

First I want to address your possible OTA. Processing requires stock recovery on your tablet. Having Twrp or CWM means the update will not process.
When you flash a complete stock rom from fastboot, Twrp, or CWM you are flashing stock recovery as it is included in the blob.
Most versions of Asus firmware can be found here! Don't forget to look at the second post as It includes the ICS stuff and older JB.
The first version of JB was to my knowledge JB 10.4.2.9.
Sorry, I forgot why flash first version of JB.
It has been said that is when your internal sdcard was repartitioned for JB.

Thanks for the info. To add to your one comment (for others that may come across this looking for add'l info), flashing a full stock rom will overwrite any custom recovery previously in place. TWRP (using the appropriate version for your firmware) or CWM will need to be reflashed again...
Checking, it does appear v10.4.2.9 is the first version of JB on the TF300T.
I've come across at least one or more posts/guides that mention ICS v9.4.3.30 should be installed before updating to JB - one being: [GUIDE]Upgrade your TF300t to Jellybean, recovery, root & remove bloatware[Noobproof]. I'm wondering if it's because that method updates to JB using the dlpkgfile (not sure what format it is)?
My take is doing the additional flash to v9.4.3.30 first can't hurt anything, but quite possibly unnecessary here? Any other thoughts or words of warnings from anyone? Thanks!

[Q] Cant install a single custom rom

Ive been at it all day but ive yet to install a single custom rom on my tf300t, all of them get stuck at the Asus boot screen. I started of with a stock ics tf300, i installed nvflash then tried to install Cleanrom (first flashing the posted jellybean bootloader) but it didnt work, stuck at boot screen so i tried installing the latest 4.2.1 stock jellybean which installed fine (im using the latest twrp) which i was over the moon about, but then tried both official and unofficial cm10.1 roms both to the same result, stuck at asus boot screen:crying:
I know i must be doing something wrong here but ive tried so many combinations and guides im all out of ideas. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

Do you have a link to the stock 4.1.1?
Put a pin in this thread.
Boot-freezing when coming from 4.2.1 is because the 4.1.1 bootloader is needed and needed to be reflashed before custom ROMs would work. I just spent 6 hours dicking around the answer was right here.

I think you can get it directly from the Asus website

unable to flash with cwm

I have had flashed succesfully (from stock to cyanogenmod's last official release) my transformer tf101. Cyanogenmod was working.
Then I tried to put katkiss on it.
It was bricked.
I worked hard on it with easyflasher and several other options. Finaly I was succesful with easyflasher: cwm v.5.8.3.4 is working.
I pushed with console cm-9.1.0-tf101.zip on it.
BUT i can not flash anything! After flashing it only reboots into recovery.
Can you help me?
Thank you a lot!
