MHL adaptor cutting of wifi signal on S2 - General Topics

I just received a MHL adaptor for my Galaxy S2 yesterday but for some strange reason when I connect it cuts off my wifi and mobile network. The whole point of buying it was for iplayer and YouTube but no use without a connection. The phone is on stock ICS 4.0.4 firmware, its rooted and also has the siyah kernel.

Anyone use a wifi adapter on th tf101?

I purchased a Rokland N3 hoping to increase wifi signal strength. I have seen it work with earlier android versions (1.9) But when I connect to the dock USB port, it lights up but does not connect.
Has anyone had success with any wifi adapter?

[Q] WIFI ISSUE SCH-i705 (Galaxy tab 2 7.0)

Would anyone know why my WIFI works perfect when Bluetooth is not on, then WIFI gets authentication errors when Bluetooth is turned on? Soon as I turn off Bluetooth WIFI works again when I reconnect to network. Thanks.
I've not noticed anything on mine. Have you done anything to it such as root/unlock/cwm/ROM?
Its unlocked, with CWM and doubleshot 1.5, but unfortunately I cant remember if it was doing it when it was stock.
Have you tried factory reset? Even reflashing the ROM? I just tested it on mine and it works fine. If not, you may have some bad hardware.
I just tested BT and Wifi on mine with 0 issues. Paired it with my s3 with wifi browsing a few websites and it didn't break.
Tried reflashing, ended up returning it. Thanks for quick reply and help. New one works perfect.
I messed up and didn't unlock the boot loader... Should I wait for stock firm ware or take it back to Verizon... And if so what should I say

Allshare cast dongle unable to connect

It can connect to one s3, but on the other, it connects, but before it shows on the tv, I get a message on the phone that says current allshare cast connection will end and the allshare instructions reappear on the tv. Both phones have the same Rom (beans 9) and same kernel, (imo)

Is your dongle up to date with the latest firmware (LJ02)? While not perfect, I've found a lot of my problems went away after upgrading. If you need help with that you can check this post.

Also, very often I find that I need to reboot the phone and sometimes unplug/replug in the dongle to get it to work.
Good luck.

Dongle is up to date and I also have the latest allshare cast apk (the one blocked by Verizon). I've rebooted the phone, reset and powered the dongle off then on, still nothing. Still only connects to 1 of 2 phones

Update:
Both phones say they are connected, problem now is the dongle stays on the welcome screen and never mirrors the phones screens. Not sure if anyone has had this problem

[Q] gettung allshare donglw to work

Ever since the 4.1.2 update (could be coincidence) I have not been able to use the dongle. It connects, then says "Current AllShare Cast connection will end".
I have a GT-N8013 and a GN2 SCH-I605, both not rooted.
I spent about an hour on chat with Samsung and ened up with them telling me to call tech support. It seems there are a lot of people who have this problem, but they are usually rooted and can fix it, but no answer for us non rooted people.
Any suggestions?
Works for me.
Try an reset the dongle. Clear cache of allshare app on your tablet.
And connect dongle straight to tv... bypass receiver if you are using one.

Are you running the newest ME29 Dongle Firmware? Have you downloaded the AllShare Cast App?
Plugging straight into the tv worked. Never thought of that

Me29 firmware is responsible for this.

If you've tried it, and it fails, then the receiver isn't HDCP-compliant, so no unfortunately. The ME29 firmware seems to have helped more folks than it hurt, though- as now I can use the ASCD even with a custom kernel (as long as I roll back the Bootloader), as I guess they're doing more DRM checks at the HDMI port instead of inside the ASC SW in the GNote.
ok, thanks. I am glad the eBay seller takes returns . Picked up a roku 2 Hd for $35 on eBay. Sounds like it will work better for my needs.

Slimport = no service?

I'm running cm11 whenever I plug in my Slimport I lose service. Unplug it, comes right back.
It's really weird. I haven't tried on stock or any other ROM.
Just curious if anyone else had this problem?

This is seriously driving me crazy. As soon as I plug this Slimport in I lose all connection. Is no one else having this issue?

I have the same problem! I just got a slimport adapter, thinking I could use a bluetooth touch keyboard and I'd have myself a desktop. As soon as I connect it the mobile service drops (2g and 3g). Bluetooth still works, but I lose signal with or without the bluetooth radio on. I get the same problem whether or not I have a micro-usb power plugged into the slimport adapter. I don't have wifi at home so I don't know if that is dropped too.
Without data its useless. I can't find any solutions to the problem, just a few mentions here and there that the problem exists.
Nexus 5. Paranoid Android (most current stable release).
Using a stock rom, my slimport works without affecting data. Perhaps something it up with your rom.
