preparation & requirements for the Jelly Bean theme:
You have to flash one of this ROM´s before you are able to install the Jelly Bean 4.2 theme:
MotoRoX ROM for Motoluxe XT615 by enox
or
[ROM] Relentless ROM | v1.0 | Motorola Motoluxe XT615
Motorola Motoluxe XT615 MotoRoX ROM by enox
features in MotoRoX ROM:
- Deodexed
- Prerooted (SuperSU)
- Busybox
- init.d supported with some performance scripts
- Zipaligned
- all stocked Motorola stuff removed
- performance & space optimized
- Multilanguage support !
.
.
.
preparation:
You need a compatible firmware running on your Motoluxe as base.
The following firmwares are fully compatible with "Motorola Motoluxe XT615 MotoRoX ROM":
IRM-1670-0-4073 *confirmed*
IRM-1540-0-4073 *confirmed*
IRM-167A-0-4053 *confirmed*
I use firmware: IRM-1670-0-4073
Firmware: IRM-1670-0-4073-A02
RSD lite: RSD lite 5.7
Installation:
1. Download the MotoRoX_ROM_Multilanguage_by_enox.zip - 111.86 MB here !
2. Copy it to your sdcard
3. start Temp Clockworkmod Recovery v6.0.2.8 for Motorola Motoluxe XT615
4. I recommend to make a nandroid backup before flashing...
5. I recommend to format the following partitions before flashing: /system /data and /cache
6. Now flash the ROM
7. After this just reboot...
instructions for theme installation: (MotoRoX ROM user)
1. now download the MotoRoX-Jelly-Bean-4.2-theme_by_enox.zip and copy it to your sdcard
MotoRoX-Jelly-Bean-4.2-theme_by_enox.zip
2. start cwm recovery and flash the MotoRoX-Jelly-Bean-4.2-theme_by_enox.zip you have copied to your sdcard
3. ....reboot your Motoluxe and wait....the first boot can take 2-3 minutes
preparation for "Relentless ROM" users:
1. download: setup_kit_for_motoluxe_jb_theme.zip and copy it to your sdcard
2. start cwm recovery and flash the "setup_kit_for_motoluxe_jb_theme.zip" (This installs only the adwlauncher)
3. after flashing reboot your device............now set up adwlauncher & set it as main launcher (Because the stocked launcher doesn´t work with this theme)
4. now your device is ready for theme installation...........
instructions for theme installation: (Relentless ROM user)
1. before you flash this theme make sure you have "no widgets" on your home screen! and you have to set a new background image "Wallpaper" that is saved on SDcard
(because after flashing the jelly bean theme the launcher has no longer access to the stocked background images "Wallpapers")
2. now download the Motoluxe_XT615_Jelly_Bean_4.2_B13.12.2012.zip and copy it to your sdcard
Motoluxe_XT615_Jelly_Bean_4.2_B13.12.2012.zip - 18.42 MB
3. start cwm recovery and flash the Motoluxe_XT615_Jelly_Bean_4.2_B13.12.2012.zip you have copied to your sdcard
5. ....reboot your Motoluxe and wait....the first boot can take 3-4 minutes
>>>>>important information!<<<<<(for MotoRoX & Relentless ROM user)
if you want to remove the Jelly Bean 4.2 theme/ or if you want to do a factory reset
... you have to reflash your ROM(MotoRoX ROM or Relentless ROM) first!
if you don´t do this first your device will get into a bootloop!
...the Motoluxe_XT615_Screenshot_MOD only works with my Motorola Motoluxe XT615 Jelly Bean 4.2 theme

you have to flash IRM-1670-0-4073-A02_BFM_service.sbf with RSD lite not with cwm or other tools ...... its multilanguage etc you not lose 3g or anything else you just get a more stable and faster device .... and than you are able to flash my theme ... my theme only works with newest firmware = IRM-1670-0-4073-A02_BFM_service.sbf

i uploaded a new version ... i hope it fix the problem .... but one thing... you write "then went to flash cwm 6.01.5 & JB-Theme-RC1-by-enox.zip" i hope you mean that you "start cwm 6.01.5 & flash JB-Theme-RC1-by-enox.zip with it ..... because cwm6.01.5 can´t be flashed its only a temp injection ...

try holo-settings -> hold in memory X

I flash your german.sbf, install CWM, clear cache & dalvik cache in cwm, install theme RC 1.1, reboot. when phone starts every google process or apps from google dont work (force closes). Other apps works, but the phone is useless.
Working:
-phone.apk
-settings
-calculator
-fm radio
-and other apps i have installed before
Force close:
-google play
-gmail
-calendar
-message
-google gapps service
-google packageinstaller
-and other apps or services
-cant recognize my SD card
So whats wrong with this theme. Or what should i do to have fully functioning theme?
Edit: can i wipe data/factory reset in cwm?

Sorry for double post. But my phone wont turn on anymore. Stop at moto logo and reboots all the time. I flash your german rom twice and i have the same problem.. Any solution??
Edit: I finally wake up my phone and do the clean install of your .sbf. Install the theme again and have the same problem like before, force close for all google apps & services. So i decide to not use your theme anymore, sorry...

same here i followed all the steps you mentioned, i can't even pass the lock screen, it just freezes, and i made sure i'm using 1.1
---------- Post added at 04:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:04 AM ----------
ok i was trying to restore my phone back to the way it was before applying the theme
i pushed VOL UP + VOL DOWN +POWER and proceeded to do a factory reset
the phone won't boot up it just stays in the motorola logo do this moto sounds and reboots in a never ending loop
i tried flashing the rom IRM-1670-0-4073-A02_BFM_service.sbf with rsd lite but its doing the same thing
Can anyone please point me in the right direction
Thanx
---------- Post added at 05:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:57 AM ----------
i made a backup using CMW but can't to it because of the bootloop, please help :/

Sorry for the problems i will release a New Version in few days its a launcher Problem.... im working on it ... and don't forget im not a professional developer & i don't earn money with this
Sent from my XT615 using xda app-developers app

No problem dude, keep up the good work
By the way I've just flashed a different ROM with RSD Lite; and i got my phone back...
I'm eager to try your new version

Launcher can not affect malfunction of any application installed on the phone.
And on top of everything, it is not a deffault launcher. Custom launchers can work, or they cant work, but, stock launcher will handle everything just fine. So the problem persists in Framework, not SystemUI, not launcher, not anything else...
99.9999999% of disfunctions in Android OS is caused by corupted and / or not properly modified Framework-res.apk!
And if in that 0.0000001% the problem persist in the launcher, all that can happen is black screen with only statusbar visible, and nothing else.
You modified stock launcher, so it is custom now...Try to insert pure stock, and see what happens.
Anyways, i am sure that the problem is in framework-res.apk, and im sure that reboot is happening because of this:
For example:
You have statusbar.png status_bar.png and statusbar.9.png and you use JUST them for appearance of the statusbar.
Example 2:
I have statusbar.png status_bar.png statusbar.9.png AND STATUS_BAR.9.PNG
And im using 4 files, and you use 3 files for the appearance of the statusbar.
When i toss your framework with 3 files, into my system, as soon it boots, it will start searching for the missing 4th .png, but it wont find it.
Reboot and bootloop, and freeze at Motologo are results of that posted above.
Those filenames are just example, it could be anything in the drawable-hdpi folder
The solution could be that you post your drawable-hdpi folders. Both from framework and systemUI, and that users which want to use the teme, just delete folders from original .apks, and insert your drawable-hdpi folders inside those apks. And then, they use ADB to push files to right places...No bootloop, no freeze, no nothing.
Just, they will have stock white ListView backgrounds instead of your ICS/JB coloured backgrounds. And the TextView colors will be stock Black.
But the whole statusbar, menus, application headder, contact headers and all other files will be ICS/JB themed!

I know Enox, its ok. I will wait for new release.

Nope! Still bootloop...

When im having problem with my phone (reboots all the time) i flash it with IRM-167C-0-4036-A01_BFM (i found them in motoluxe tread). And then i flash again with Enox .sbf rom.
That works for me. You can try.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS for CM7EX_l33t:
Are you coming from CM7EXv10?
-if yes:
.........FLASH l33t ROM,reboot
.........FLASH BATTERY MOD,reboot. Easy-peasy.
if no:
........Nandroid your current setup, and backup your apps with appbrain or titanium
........Flash the 's_FORMAT_ALL.zip (attached), wipe data, cache, and dalvik-cache
........Flash rom (CM7EXv10)/reboot. Then boot into recovery
........Flash gapps/reboot. Then boot into recovery and do the "if yes".
*****Many of you have been having issues with the notification bar not appearing on the new ROM. I have found a viable issue for it.
If you haven't yet flashed the l33t version and are currently on v10, then it's easier for you. Install the attached adw ex launcher (if you don't have it already, google it/market buy it) and make sure notification bar is showing in the settings. Then follow the directions to install the l33t ROM.
If you are on l33t and don't have them, hopefully you have a nandroid for v10. If you do, restore backup and follow the instructions in the paragraph above. If not, wipe everything, flash v10, install adw ex, then do paragraph above's solution.*****
NOTE: If you NEED help with the ROM, just wanna talk about the ROM, or want to contribute to the ROM, go here, or join the chatroom. You can get to the chatroom by using a client like Xchat, Mirc, ect. If you dont have a client and want to use mibbit here is the link.

another quick ? will the files be changed since we are essentially renaming the zip (ex.BATTERY_GB.v10.zip-signed) and it gets changed to BATTERY_GB.v10-signed.zip as that i am aware i would not be able to flash with out it being a .zip file ?
Edit: NVM You Beat me to it
This ROM is beautiful. The screen off animation makes me jizz my pants.

If I'm coming from v9 do I need to wipe anything? I'm currently get nonstop com.android.phone force closes. Any ideas?
Gps still doesnt work when you are moving with v10
i would say to do the full wipe. Can neone help me with changing the speed of the LED flash for SMS messages? Handcent has this feature built in but it doesnt work on this ROM for some reason. Ne ideas?

Yah, no go for me with GPS as well. The funny thing is, when I first installed Ex10 gps worked! I was so happy. Played with it all night. Then latter in the day (today) after I got things all setup gps stopped working..... I flashed like 5 times trying to get it to work again, no dice.
UPDATE: My GPS now works because of this:
You will need:
1. A 'sense' ROM currently running on your phone (I had Fresh 3.5.1)
2. MSL reader installed (get it from the market)
2. Have CM7 (build 17 worked for me) and the latest gapps (I used the ones from 2011-01-15) downloaded to your SD card
Steps:
1. Open MSL reader and get your MSL (jot it down)
2. Launch phone dialer and dial ##GPSCLRX#
3. It will ask you for your MSL, enter it.
4. Upon hitting OK, your phone will just say reboot in 10 secs, let it reboot.
Phew!
5. After it has rebooted, boot to recovery (i used clockworkmod 2.6.0.1)
6. Nandroid backup (if you are so inclined)
7. Wipe cache, Dalvik and then wipe data/factory reset
4. Flash CM7 b17 from your sd-card
9. Flash gapps
10. Reboot and walk through set-up. Your gapps will be downloaded from the market. Wait for all the downloads to complete.
11. Use GPS as normal and enjoy the GPS goodness!
Please note I did not write this, I'm just helpN to spread the goods!

Him hit a boot loop I guess. Flashed rom, reboot, loads then reboot into recovery, flash mod (VVM, HTC music) and now cyanogen (mod) keeps glashing on my screen. Any ideas what I did wrong?
Sorry guys. The all in one zip at the bottom of post three isn't compatible, just found out.. sorry for any trouble this caused you guys. Ragnarok is working on it.
To fix the bootloops, do a battery pull or hold volume up + volume down + power until reboot, then boot into bootloader by holding down volume down. Navigate to recovery and re-flash the ROM.

Yea the battery mod keeps kicking out an error at UOT as well. I tried to lad it earler and kept getting bootloops as well. OH well will wait for a fix
After flashing this ROM, I flashed the Gapps. Rebooted and now I'm stock where it says "touch the android to begin". I did it and nothing happens...
Well wiping fixed my problem with com.android.phone crashing. Everything is running well except Pocket Legends still doesn't work.

I have recently installed the GB H1N1 v0.9 Rom and i realized that it is consume the battery very fast. For example in 7 hours without any use, the phone is all this period in deep sleep, hat the battery 20% decreased. Is this normal with GB or could i anything make for longer lasting battery?
Also wifi tethering seems not to work so good... i get no internet connection in my Laptop, when i use the OT-995, but it works good when i use an other mobile phone.
Thanks!!
i will always prefer a 5.3 instead of a 5.2+fix
V5.3 is nice guys.. if i can help or assist u with anything just let me know
btw if hot boot in reboot menu doesnt work u need to symlink pkill to busybox
i'm just curious... icons are alcatel's or you changed it?
currently i'm on pac rom and i'm satisfied with it but all the nice feedback for H1N1 V5 tempts me to flash it

My CWM and the 5504 one should work with this ROM.
i've installed it with my linked /custpack touch version and it worked fine.
It may very well be a hickup on the cache, have you wiped everything before installing? I have absolutely no idea why it would matter but for some reason /cache is messing with installation scripts based on Aroma. Now the need for an Aroma installer is not there for me so i just wiped it out and used the updater to install it without wiping data.

I wiped everything. Also it seemed that my GPU overheated on the PAC rom so I wanted to go back to a ICS rom just incase.
However it seems like I can't flash a ICS rom. Older version of H1N1 don't seem to work and the ICS+ from mistercheese also fails to boot....
(PAC still boots flashes)
Also after some inspection it seems like the Aroma installer takes a bit long on the Boot Partition or something.

I'd restore that one before i attempted a new install, just use OTU to restore it to factory and then fastboot flash recovery cwm-yaydyaydyd.img and flash the ROM from there.
You can also try to flash the boot.img with fastboot or just boot the boot.img with fastboot boot yayayay.img
You didn't dd anything after i told you i successfully used dd, did you? because that may be the cause and you really shouldn't do that.
Actually, never dd anything EVER unless it's in my multiboot script or i'm asking you to do it.

CMW recovery flashed but no go
Hi there,
I tried to get into the newly flashed CWMR but somehow I've failed. What I've done is use mobileuncle tools to get into CWM 5 and from there flash the zipfile I've downloaded from the sources. Now the CWM app does boot into recovery but I get this little android figure with a ! from it's belly. Not good I suppose.
I'd realy like to try out this rom but without working recovery I'm a bit scared I'm going to brick the thing....
Could you please advise??
Greetings,
Andreas
i use gthrill for a couple of days and the only problem i have is that when i open the wifi after some time the signal in one of my two sim drop....
i have it in all roms i try...
Installed last night.
Looks nice, work fine, stable. Well done
I have only one issue.
USB won't work.

Didn't work. Got it working using the dd method (way easier if you ask me ).
Now, I've installed CWM 5.5.0.4 in /dev/recovery but when trying to flash the zip file for the LewaOS rom it gives me 'cannot open file'. Is that because I need the newer version of CWM mentioned in the opening post? Or just something else? Perhaps because there's 'spaces' in the filename? I'll let you know if I find something out there !
** Update **
I downloaded the correct rom but still no go It just doesn't want to install the rom...

Hi
Reflashed again.
Everything is fine.
I think is slower than original ICS 4.0.4 ROM, but stable and good.
Keep up good work!
***Update:***
Battery life much improved, at least 15-20%
I found this ROM very good so far.
There's only small issue with some mobile web sites. Some of the links cannot be open.
I've installed Opera browser in addition but is exactly the same so
I'm not sure: maybe there is a problem in ROM or badly written mobile web sites.
Thanks a lot

Whoohooo, first time my name appears on a ROM development!!!
But I've got to say it's really a great rom, and for the first time I'm not sad about not beeing able to unlock my bootloader. Can wait a couple more years until someone figures that one out.
Great job gavster26.

Don't format sdcard with CWM.
Download ROM again, it could be corrupted.

I've already installed a previous rooted version of this rom, and now this. A few times until I got it right. From the beggining to end, maybe 30/40 minutes. It's not that long. But I really hope that someone manages to put cwm working on JB.
But you should update to this rom, since it has Flashgordon working and any changes that are made to it will be easilly flashable.
Ok I'll try once again

Special thanks and credits to:
@Shreps for providing the acer firmware/recovery files and his dedicated Acer Thread.
MaximumROM for providing the ported Custom ROMs.
@AndroidXDA for the latest SP Flash Tool.
Getting Started
USE AT OWN RISK! I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR BRICKS THAT MIGHT OCCUR UPON FLASHING. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!.
Before doing any flashing with your Acer Liquid Z500 you'll need to Root your device and flash a custom recovery. This is mandatory for flashing Custom Roms and making Backups.
Rooting may void your warranty, though this is localized and may not apply for your area/country. Here, in The Netherlands, rooting your android phone has been approved legal by the government, thus keeping your warranty if you need to return your device to the manufacturer.
This does NOT apply for flashing Custom Recovery's, therefore you need to flash back to the stock recovery.
Rooting:
First we want to Root our phone. We need KingoRoot for that. You can find it in my attachment in the post above. I haven't used the Android version, so i´ll only guide you through the windows version of KingoRoot.
People without a PC can try the provided KingoRoot_Android.zip, but i cannot guarantee it will work as i haven't tested it myself.
01) Go to your device settings and select 'Device Info'. Scroll down and tap the 'Build Number' 5x until you've unlocked 'Developer Options' displayed in a toast.
02) Go to 'Settings/Developer Options' and check 'USB Debugging Enabled' you are now ready to receive additional usb drivers and adb has full access to change files.
03) Connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable and wait until it's finished installing drivers.
03) Download and install KingoRoot for windows .
04) Run KingoRoot, the program itself is pretty self explanatory. Just click 'ROOT' and wait until the program has finished flashing. It will reboot your device automaticly on success and superuser app called 'KingUser' will be installed with it. If you don't like it you can try SuperUser or SuperSU from the playstore. (Make sure you've granted them SU_Access with KingUser before you remove KingUser)
05) You are now ready to flash a Custom Recovery.
Custom Recovery:
Now we need a Custom Recovery. We can use SP FlashTool to do that or we can use MobileUncle MTK Tools. I'm going with the latter because it's more user friendly instead of going through SPFT & Scatter Files. I haven't tried 'Flashify' or 'Rashr Flash Tool' for flashing Recovery's on MTK devices.
01) Download CTR or CWM Custom Recovery's from the above post. Make sure they are located at the root of your SDCard. Move/Paste them from /Download folder if necessary.
02) Download MobileUncle from my attachment or download it from the Google PlayStore.
03) Grand SU_Access to MobileUncle and select 'Flash Firmware'.
04) Your downloaded Custom Recovery's will be shown (if moved propertly to root of SD) select it and click 'Flash'.
05) Reboot into your new Custom Recovery automaticly --when prompted to do so--, or do it manually by turning phone off/on with 'Vol+ (Up) & Power' and select 'Recovery' in acer menu (apply/select with Vol- (Down))
06) Now make a nand/stock backup of your current (Stock) ROM.
07) When leaving Custom Recovery for the 1st time, it might ask you 'Rebooting device might change Recovery to Stock, want to fix it?' reply with Yes.
Flashing Custom ROMs:
Flashing a custom rom is easy. And if you perform everything right, you won't have to worry that you'll brick your device. I've tested most of the ROMs by myself, i can assure you that it's a save deal, just follow the instructions carefully.
01) Download a Custom ROM of your preference (See Post #3) Click the HIDE button to see additional Info and Instructions (which are taken directly from their FB page).
02) Reboot into Recovery and make a backup of your current rom.
03) Do a full cache/data/system wipe and wipe dalvik.
04) Select 'Install zip from sdcard' and select your downloaded rom.
05) Wait until it's finished flashing.
06) Reboot your device and enjoy!
Unbrick / Flashing Stock Firmware:
I haven't had the pleasure yet to unbrick any MTK device (a good thing, right!?), so i'm a little scarse to give any info onto how to perform such tasks with SPFT as someone who has experienced it by hand.
Neither have i re-flashed to Stock Firmware, because on all the MTK devices i've used, any Custom ROM for those devices worked flawlessly.
Check out the Acer thread by @Shreps for detailed instructions on how to restore and unbrick your acer phone. This method works for various Acer models.

The following ROMs are all based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and some are heavily customized to look like Lollipop
The following Custom ROMs have been tested with the 'SINGLE SIM' variant of the Acer Liquid Z500. I don't think it'll work with the 'Dual Sim' versions of this handset.

3. Go to Settings > Xposed framework > Xposed Installer > Modules> check all modules provided then install xpose framework.
Pay attention to this - After start-up guide you will ask to choose Home App
Choose Xperia Home and select "Always"(do not choose lockscreen)
BUG: OFF CHARGING ANIMATION, not a big deal anyway.

If anyone know more Custom ROMs that are compatible with the Acer Liquid Z500 please post them or PM me with the info so i can add them to this section.
I'm sorry for not including any screenshots because the original source has not provided them on their Facebook page for this specific model (Only for the CherryMobile Flare3).

Yeah it's too bad there are no dedicated forums for Acer specific models. Even less popular devices have their own section.
There is not much Info on the Liquid Z500 regarding Custom Roms so i added all the roms i could find (from one source only though ) since XDA, HTCMania, MoDaCo, NeedRom, or any other site, do not feature them (google searches lack information).
So i took what i could find and cramped them into one Thread
Hello mate, thank you for this thread it looks awesome! I wanted to ask you where did you get SDs_Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.003.00_EMEA_MTSs.zip firmware? My device came with it and when i was searching for it i couldn't find it! I was thinking maybe it's carrier branded firmware because MTS is the abbreviation of my carriers name... If i was mistaken do you by any chance know what does MTS part of it mean? Thanks in advance!

I did not find those files myself, but I took them from @Shreps main thread. But my hunch is that they are provided by acers official website.
About MTS, I don't know..

Just a little question. All of these ROMs are bug-less? Can you post some screens of the Galaxy S5 ROM please?
Thank you in advance

LOL... bug-less... Less bugs you mean? Bug-less in the world of automation and mobile devices does not exist...
You know what I meant. I'm not stupid and I understand that. I'm not asking for the perfect OS, I'm just asking if they are good for a daily use.

Have you followed my steps? because if you did you wouldn't need to mess with scatter files and the flashing is pretty easy compared to some other brands.
I have no discrete awnser, so if anybody else could shine some light on this issue, thanks!!
@nikagl mischien??

Dual or Single SIM device? What full SPFT roms did you try to install?
To recover a device you should follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56877584&postcount=2
And use these SPFT Firmwares (depending on single or dual SIM):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61359937&postcount=4
Z500 Firmware - Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1.zip (Dual SIM)
Z500 Firmware - Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1s.7z (Single SIM)
Good luck!

Nika.

JMailuhu Thank you 1000 times!!
Life is back again on my Acer 500z.
Nice that you and Nika would help me to work it out/
Keep on youre good work please. :good:
Is there a Way to download the ROMs except MEGA? It always fails. Everything can be downloaded properly, just the ROM-Download interrupts always.
EDIT: And I will not buy anything there or pay for something...

I would prefer to know which you want so I can download them and provide them on another mirror.

Thank you very much, I think it'll be the Samsung-Thing and hopefully it works with the Z500 Plus too. Acer even won't provide a Lollipop-ROM...
Anyway, I'm not using the 2nd SIM.
EDIT:The VionicL-Link seems to be broken.

hi, I was wondering if Xposed Framework can be used in Acer Z500? I really want to modify the notification bar, but the Cutom Rom in the first page says that it's probably impossible for Dual SIM version, so I want to modify it with Xposed.
