I'm running gs2usr's PA 2.21 as my daily driver which I absolutely love. Today I found out that my company is pushing out RIM's Mobil Fusion which isn't going to play nice with a rooted phone. Is there any way to spoof Fusion into believing my phone isn't rooted, or un-root it and still run PA 2.21? Or am I stuck with a boring phone running stock ICS?
I don't understand how a BES program would interfere with a rooted phone...
My understanding is that it's not so much that it'll mess with the phone as I won't be able authenticate on the server and I won't be able to access the corporate tools I need. Such as email.

Found a work around on this. I have two nandroid backups. One which is stock ics which I use at work and one PA which I use when I don't have to work. Kind of a dual boot option. And let's the flasher in me keep on flashing.
PS. For anyone who cares, rims Mobil fusion will not connect to the rim server on a rooted phone. I've personally confirmed this.

Hey guys i really want to know how to connect to the net using my pc`s broadband to my mobile.
I always use internet pass through which is by default available in ordroid,elegancia and viper rom.
But i want to try the new jelly bean rom but all that is stopping me is this internet pass through using usb.
Wait for at least 2 weeks.

When I try to connect windows gives me a pop up saying found new hardware and doesn't know were to look for drivers.. I do have htc syc and everything is up to date.. I'm running CM10 latest build and love it but a my work I don't have any cell reception so used to always hook up my phone through my laptop... any idea were I can find the proper diveres or if anyone has run into this?
Has anyone gotten it to work?

Hey whats going on guys? So this is my first post because usually everyone asks the same questions in the other threads. I found it weird when I would open some apps and it would have this turn dial thing and say "please wait to prepare app for use" or something similar. Decided to download Kasperky and see what it found. It found 4 threats all in my system memory. I tried deleting it but it wouldnt let me. I have my iMac with me in my apartment. The windows comp I used to root is at my parents house. Is there any way to fix this? Im hurtin' :crying:.

GS3 and Mac do not play nice together. I had to resort to bootcamp.
As amazing as macs are, this is a biiig downer.

I know there is Rom toolbox that can flash a new Rom on your device reverting it back to either stock or a Rom of your choice that's all through the phone you can try that if you are rooted.
Or you can use the free version of mobile Odin and flash a new Rom etc

I've been working on rooting my phone 4 a couple of days, thought I had accomplished all I needed and then realized that I was still s-off. my ultimate goal is to downgrade to froyo and then upgrade with unrEVOked to Jellybean. The biggest problem I have is that my windows pc is flipping out on me and all I have is a mac. I also have a newborn and can't even begin to try and figure out vmware or dualbooting or anything. My wife's already having a hard time with me trying 2 finish rooting my droid. I've spent hours reading everything I can (still very much a noob, don't understand terminal, c prompt, or flashing) and have probably been just really lucky getting to where I'm at. Other posts I've read are wither windows only, s-on, or not 2.3.5. Help, I'm desperate!! I really don't want 2 have 2 pay the guy on FB either. Any help at all is greatly appreciated since I know how valuable time is 4 everyone.

Why do you want to lose S-Off? You should probably wait for some time until you can donate some time to this, distractions can be extremely annoying on OSes like Android.
Mostly because I've been having issues with a couple of apps not being able to work because of s-on. Maybe you're right though, I need to take some time with it. Got my Windows back up but it still doesn't help since my usb connection with my phone's not working. Tried multiple cables, renamed usb slot, downloaded most recent drivers, but nada.

If your USB slot(on the phone) is broken,you're pretty much screwed. Try posting in the evo 4g forums,they might help. And I don't understand what you mean by loading a cyanogenmod. Do you mean from the recovery?
Finally got everything working. My usb's data connection was hosed, different one worked. Windows is back up. Successful root to 2.3.7. Now to upgrade. Is there a way to get to ICS or jellybean from here?

I had CM11 on the Infuse and it worked but the phone starts warming by it self and i decided to go back to stock using Odin with GTG Ultimate Unbrick and then the phone got Android 2.2.X and i upgrade it to Android 2.3.5 using Kies. Then i tried to sync my google account but on the status bar said Google Talk Authentication failed and i cant install apps from Play Store i need help with this of a fix
What do u suggest to do
Look for another rooted rom or what

Well, I'd recommend using Beanstalk 4.4.2. All phones will warm up, so I'm not sure what you mean by your first point, but I can tell you that Scott's latest beanstalk build is the fastest my Infuse has ever felt. If you prefer to stick to stock (wouldn't know why), then try a full wipe then logging in again

Hi all,
I don't know whether I'm posting my question in the correct forum or not.
My Phone is SCH I-535. Accidentally, I upgraded to 4.3.
I have rooted and downloaded rootchecker from play store and it is rooted successfully.
Basically, I did a big blunder last time, by flashing a wrong ROM altogether. Flashed the International Version ROM and it hard bricked, and it was a mess. I could not use my phone for almost 6 months since, I did not have time to work on this. So now, I got the phone up and running and I did not know that, I should not accept the 4.3 update. So I did accept and now I'm on 4.3 and rooted.
Basically, I have 3 requirements.
1. Get a clean, fast, simple ROM, which has only essential Apps and no bloatware - CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANY ROM-SCH-I535,4.3,ROOTED
2. Get the HotSpot feature working - I downloaded foxfi, and it is working fine. But if the stock Hotspot feature works, then it will be great. I don't like many Apps in my phone. I feel they make it a bit slow. I want my phone to be as fast as possible.
3. Increase the Brightness of my screen. I read somewhere about the kernel modification or something. I tried to do that last time and I messed it up badly.
So, I did not want to do anything stupid this time and I'm posting here.
I have read different threads and there is a lot of information, and that's how, I was able to root this 4.3 SCH I-535. But I don't want to do anything on my own, with out expert advice. So I'm posting here.
Any help is highly appreciated. Thank You.
1. Lots of great roms available, take a look at all of them and see what looks interesting. Every rom will be experienced differently by everybody, so your best option here is to systematically try them out until you find a good one that runs like you need it to. Remember you need safestrap in order to do this and the rom can only be 4.3 TouchWiz.
2. I think there's a wifi hack somewhere that will remove the Verizon prompt completely. Not sure where to find it though, might not be s3 specific.
3. Increasing the brightness may not be possible. If there is a way, then an xposed module might be able to do it. Take a look at all of them and see if something allows you to modify that.
