T-Mobile just confirmed a sidekick 4G android device will be coming in the next few months
http://www.gizmocrunch.com/android/4841-samsung-galaxy-4g-htc-sidekick-t-mobile
It sounds interesting, I have had a sidekick before and the design is hot imo however the software (danger OS) was terrible the market had no apps compare to android.
So what you guys think about this? Do you see potential in the device since its android afterall, and don't come comment things like "its a teenager phone" because I've seen old people with it before LOL

the only thing I see not making me excited is the possibility that htc won't be making it, we all know that the best processors are currently made by htc and samsung, and I only buy htc phones! lol

When the Sidekick was released, apps were not an issue, it was never really an issue. In fact, I am sure that it decline because the iPhone was a smartphone that didn't feel like you were carrying around a brick. I had the Sidekick 3 which was released in 2006, it was heavy, but it was a pretty cool phone despite the fact it was not exactly portable.
Also, neither Samsung or HTC will make the next Sidekick (lack of involvement with the brand is one reason). Most likely it will be either Sharp or Motorola. Leaning towards Sharp because they didn't have issues with their Sidekick versions.
Fun fact, the guy behind Android founded Danger Inc.
I had the Sidekick 08 from launch all the way up until a couple months ago when I purchased the myTouch 4g. I enjoyed the phone while I had it, never had any problems with it(except for the whole data loss incident). I got the MT4G because the sidekick had been worn out over the past years, but it was a good phone
If htc ain't making than no sidekick for me lmao but we still don't know for sure any one could make this new sidekick we'll see!

This is awesome news!!
I had the latest sidekick Lx and I loved it, still love that keyboard for texting, i miss it ):
Do you all think they will have still have that flip screen.
I recently had to use one and let me tell you i hated every minute of it.
See I like a lot of people text when we arent suppose to. Having to flip that screen everytime to send a text was painful. I really dont see how kids get away with texting in class.

Know?
Droid X performs tons of HTC devices. And that's a Motorola. Droid X is about equal to the MT4g in power.
I hope Samsung makes the Sidekick. Super AMOLED FTW! Plus it's gonna be Andy Rubin's baby. Which means... Stock Android ?! It could be like the Nexus S with a keyboard epic win
Makes sense to me that it would be running android though not only is it the best os in my opinion but the guy who brought you the sidekick UI is now in charge of Google's user experience department. I hope for one hope HTC busts out the sidekick I never owned one and always wanted one, and although Sombionix and Team Whiskey bust out some great roms for my phone I don't think I'll go the Samsung route again.
Dank Ups
Vibrant Galaxy S
Doin that Voodoo that it do so well with Bionix V5

That sounds pretty sweet! Physical kbs are always nice.
Yea I'm not saying its bad its just I like htc better but it looks good for samsung fans at least its better than sharp making the sidekick, and I love that it has a ffc but guess what and this really inffuriates me...... no flash on the cam wtf at this age

Honestly its a good phone but I would never trade my Inspire for an Iphone 4. My wife has one and I don't think its a 1/3 the phone.
Honestly, you'll miss the flexibility of Android. iPhone just feels lame, and like a childs toy with no functionality.
But if you want an iPhone so badly, just wait another 30-45 days for iPhone 5.
or, go to Radioshack and get a 16gb iPhone 4 for $169.
Oh ok I was thinking about trading so then I can trade the iPhone 4 for an sensation 4g
Yea I.don't like iPhones either that much but I can definitely trade it for something good like the sensation 4g
i'd take the trade and sell teh iphone and use the cash to get whatever other phone you want. if the iphone's unlocked, you can probably pocket some of that cash too
Yea I thought about that. But I think imma just trade for iPhone 4 then trade for sensation 4g. That's good right?

Just think to yourself, why would somebody WANT to get rid of their "awesome" iPhone 4 for your phone? It's most likely because they KNOW that the Inspire is a much better phone than the iPhone.
Then think to yourself, who the hell would want to take an outdated iPhone in a trade for their sensation.. Not gunna happen....
Yea your right, Well someone has a post on Craigslist that says they'll trade there Sensation only for an iPhone 4 but they probably have 2 sensations or they just like iPhones lol.
Sounds like a lot of work for a phone?.....
And you currently have an awesome inspire....
Lol yea it is alot of work but I'm.use to it I'm always trading phones I get tired of phones kinda quick
do the trade, sell the iphone for $400 on craigslist, buy an atrix for $300, and come out with a better phone and $100
Yea that sounds good, I might do that thanks lol

Y'all think the Atrix is better then the sensation 4g? how?
I don't. I've bought alot of android phones off craigslist, just to root and re-sell. It seems like motorola phones are such a pain in the rear. Feels like the HTC phones function so smoothly, even with all the crazy mods and stuff our wonderful developers do the these phones. If it were me ide go with the sensation.......wait....if it were me ide keep my inspire lol

SGS2. Clear choice.
Check out www.gsmarena.com and use their compare option.
I say Galaxy Nexus if on VZW if not import (if you can) for T-Mobile or ATT. Since this has awesome dev support, Nexii always do. Or just wait for quad core phones CES is next week. If you can't wait I say gs2 on any carrier but VZW

Galaxy S II is the clear winner from that list, Build quality wise only the HTC beats it.. otherwise for dev support, playing games & good battery life Galaxy S II wins
Samsung galaxy s2
Fastest
Vivid Screen
Light, Thin
Most Devs
Motorola photon 4g
I don't really see any major pros compared to the other devices
Htc sensation
Sense
The back of it looks pretty good, made of aluminium.
Lg optimus 3d
3D
If you value 3rd party dev support, then I would probably pick samsung or htc, as they have rather big dev community
cheers
so its mean the SGSII is good form all aspects .... guys i want a phone which has good quality . a phone if which will drop form hand and phone can handle the drop i think you guys understand what i want o say

not sure if you have seen the drop test of Galaxy phones vs Iphones
but just today i had my first hand real life experience
took the phone out of my front shirt pocket, shoulder height and my fingers slipped, it went face down straight to a concrete floor (it bounced like 4 times before coming to a full stop) and it's still alive and kicking, except for a few scratches on the bezel everything is fine.
as you can see from y siggy, it's a SGS2 from Tmo
ok guys i m going to buy SGSII
thanks for yours comments
Just get a samsung epic you can get them brand new for like $200 or so, with a memory card, the II isn't worth the extra money.
I am currently a highschool graduate and am going overseas to study medicine and become a doctor.

The iphone i have decided on is the Iphone 5 which is going to come out
(Now before you start flaming me let me tell u thtat i am a die hard andorid fan and have always ran android)
i have an upgrade in november il tell my parents to use to buy me the new iphone and send it to mw
the reason im goign to iphone is because i love toying with android and it has so many more features that are in every way better than ios but the program im attending is a very hardcore program and i want to fore my self from toying with my phone cause that uses alot of time
so my end question is this should i trade my htc one x for an iphone now because when the new 5 comes out i would want to resell my phone and as everyone knows iphones have the best resale value
so will the htc have a better resale once the new iphone comes out or will the current 4s

I'd think hard about what you really want.... If you try love android as much as you say you do, you won't be happy with an iphone and you will spend more time kicking yourself then just being happy and staying on top of your studies while balancing phone stuff like a responsible adult...
That is not a flame just an honest statement.... You really should be able to moderate yourself... Checking the forums once a day and flashing a rom once a week sounds like a comfortable amount and will not distract from your studies
But if you really have to force yourself away from what you actually want then you can do that as well
Sent from my iphone 7s using Tapatalk 2
iPhones typically have the best resale value but by the fall the 4S will be so old that it's hard to say. I sold my 64gb iPhone 4S for $550 to help cover the cost of my HOX, and it was beat up all to hell. I would keep the One X, just because it is the better device. I will warn you though, switching to the iPhone is not going to keep you from playing with your phone. Between jailbreak mods and games, I was on that thing ALL THE DAMN TIME. It is a slick little device, and is just as tempting to fiddle with as the HOX is.
to answer your question tho, the iphone 4 will probably sell for more than your one X when the iP5 drops. The reason for this being HTC will already have a newer, better phone out by then. Not to knock it, im posting from an Android but the bottom line is i could sell my unlocked 32GB 4s and buy about 3 of the best flag ships Android has. The reason for this is that there is only 1 iphone per year(sometimes more) so when u get the iphone u know u will have the best apple offers for at least a year. When u get a HTC/MOTO/SAMMY, and its their flagship---u have maybe 4-5 months. With the only exception having been the GS2.

Apple stuff holds the reale value very well.
Android phones drop in value a LOT faster. I don't think I'd go to an iPhone just to be tempted not to play with it. After all they can be jailbroken too.
Buy the one that you can actually unlock and use overseas. That's what matters.

totally agree but there's still a lot to play with on a jailbroken iPhone so that part of the argument still is relevant.
Yeah jailbreaking an iphone is nothing like rooting and ROMing an Android but there are still some cool mods and tweaks you can do (that usually end up mimicking native Android features lol). That said, the iPhone is anything but boring. It is a great little device. Limited, but great nonetheless.

You can buy your unlock code from eBay for something around $5. Or if you wait a few more months (end of this year), you can get the code from AT&T for free.
iPhone, you will have to entirely at the mercy of AT&T.
Android is more internationally friendly

Agree with this general notion. Med school (then residency and then internship) requires a ton of dedication, discipline and self control. If having one phone versus another is going to capsize your study habits, you have bigger issues to address than what phone to own.
hey guys,
just wanted to ask for your opinion.
I've had 3 androids so far. The Atrix 4G, xperia U and a Gnex which i sold due to a cracked screen.
Now i want to buy a new phone (actually, next month). I really like the S4 and the One, but I also want to try an iPhone because it "just works as is" for years and years. All three droids i had died withing a year tops ! or cracked....or started lagging badly...
Anyways, It's either one of the androids or an iphone 4S (if ill have the money the ill go for the expensive iphone 5).
what do you think, why, and have you had an iphone or an android ?
Thanks !

You seem like somebody who does not know the difference between iOS and Android and also you claim that you cracked or damaged your phones for less than 1 year. Build quality is different among android OEMs and things have improved since then. I suggest you buy the HTC One or the samsung Galaxy S4 or Sony's flagship phones.
My sister has an iPhone and we dont live in the US, so if you live in the US and the ridiculous controlled nature of iOS is no concern for you, pricing is not and so on, get it.
Personally, I would never give more than 300 euro for an iphone.
Go watch some video comparisons, see that the iphone does not have HD screens, removable batteries and so on. But if you still insist on getting an iphone, buy it used. Dont be stupid to give $700 to a thing that has more shine and marketing in its name than it has anything amaizing to offer.
Windows phones do also look interesting, particularly the Nokia 808. Get anything but an iPhone. iOS7 looks good but all the features of iOS7 have been so long around, it makes iOS7 just a marketing move from apple.
As fine as an iPhone is, you should rather be picking up another Android phone again, because you may have downloaded quite some apps in the past. Thats one of the reasons why iPhone users find it pretty hard to change to an Android after using iOS a couple of years. They've paid for apps so they dont want to lose them just by going to another OS.
An iPhone also doesnt guarantee you that you dont drop it by accident and then breaks. But in the end you decide, as this is just my opinion. Ask a friend if he has an iPhone and if he could lend it to you for a week or so, so that you can gain your very own experience in the world of Apple.

That does not prove anything
That only shows which one is more fragile but build quality is also the quality of the construction (how they got all the parts together) and the quality of the parts. And SGS4 has a thicker screen and plastic back, so its obvious
But thanks !

htc one
I was a long time iphone user. a few months ago I switched to the nexus 4 and loved it. I sold it and bought the htc one when that came out. Now I just about ready to flash the google edition rom. Of course it is some of the proof that the build quality between sgs4 and iphone 5, i5 have more advantages.
sure, thicker screen but more fragile than iphone 5.
IMO, comparison between 2 OSes, iOS is better than Android. (i5, dual core only & sgs4 octa core/quad core, but iOS is smoother)
S4...
I mean... I have an UNROOTED S4.. and it is crazily fast already...

I've an HTC One. It's my best buy ever.
I think iPhone it's the best phone, but I've never bought it because it's not funnny.
As you know, the best thing of Android it's the possibility to install custom ROMs.
One it's one of the most beautiful phones, and with this tool you can obtain bootloader unlocked, and root access fastly.
Galaxy S4. The end.
