That sounds strange -- might ASUS be rolling back the rather buggy .18 update?

Most likely you forget to remove the "old" 10.4.4.16 update file from your internal storage.

I searched the forum but couldn't find an answer. I have tried several times to update my TF to 3.2.1 but the update keeps failing.
I get a system update notification. The tablet shuts down. The little green android with the gears on his stomach appears with a progress bar under it. The progress bar gets about 1/3 of the way then an exclamation mark appears in a yellow triangle. The a few minutes later the tablet restarts and it says that the update failed.
I am currently on build number HTJ85B.WW_epad-8.6.5.9-20110816. My TF is unrooted.
Is this happening to anyone else? Anyone have any suggestions besides doing a factory reset then trying the update again? Thanks in advance for any help.
Was it rooted before?
Rooting itself doesn't break updates it's what you do whilst rooted that can, so unrooting isn't necessary. I'm having this issue again as I removed some Asus apps with Titanium Backup which I now can't get back (I did them when there was a bug in TB which didn't backup apps properly). The OTA update script checks the integrity of a bunch of apps and files, which if it fails will abort the update in the way you are seeing. Very annoying.

Yeah it was rooted. I just realized that immediately after I rooted it, I had made a CWM backup. I'm going to try to restore the backup and see if the update goes through. (fingers crossed)
Sounds like you're running a custom ROM

Nope, stock 3.2. The only thing that I flashed was a custom kernel.
The update still didn't work with my backup. Luckily the WW 3.2.1 update was posted in the development section, so I just re-rooted and flashed the update. Worked like a charm.
yeah, I think that your kernel will cause the update to fail since it updates some of the kernel modules.

I got it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281161
It's only a 3.2 to 3.2.1 update though, it's not a full ROM, so you have to already have 3.2 on your TF. Hope this helps!
i have the same problem too.
my TF101 was totally non rooted .
is there a download for this 3.2.1 update? so i can prehaps update my TF mannually ....
I didn't find one, because of that i flashed revolver.

I too have a problem with the update on my rotted tf.I got an unofficial update apk here but I still get an error message when trying to flash in CWM.I heard that this could be due to a modified system file, but I don`t remember having done such a thing thought...
Good luck.
Help please!
I have just updated my Slider to official ICS OTA system just asked if i want to update and i very foolishly said yes and now my Slider SL101 says its a Transformer TF101 with out a keyboard dock, wifi and no root
Does anybody else have this problem? Anybody else made the mistake i have?
And can anybody please help me to get my Slider back to Honeycomb or a correctly working ICS?
You can downgrade to HC if you have CWM recovery, otherwise you're at the mercy of the asus otas. I recommend rooting and putting a custom rom and kernel on there.
Thanks for your response, do u know if it is possable to force flash a US SKU file on a WW Slider?
If you have root or a recovery, I believe so. It won't pass standard stock checks though
It's been a while since i've played with android, but I just want to load a fully functioning custom ROM.
Info (from about tablet)

ww_epad-10.4.2.20-20121228 A03This bootloader has the 4 icons (includes the USB fastboot icon)
Recovery:
TWRP 2.5
The tablet is actually a TF300TG, but all the roms seems to be for the TF300T and I read some posts saying the only thing you lose by cross flashing is the 3g functionality - although, I also read some stating not to.
Q1. It says it's running Android 4.2.2, but the bootloader is still the old JB type - is this because it's a custom rom?
Q2. Is there anything I can do to get WiFi working on this ROM? The wifi never moves to the 'on' position.
I followed the instructions from the link in the bellow quote (the first time around I was on the new bootloader) - I tried flashing both
ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T Firmware: V10.4.2.20 Only for WW SKU (Android 4.1) - 2013.01.18 update
ASUS Transformer Pad TF300TG Firmware: V10.4.3.9 Only for WW SKU (Android 4.1) - 2012.11.14 update
and then installing AOKP, but this just leaves me back where I started.
This ROM is really nice and I would like to continue using it.
The wifi works when using the asus stock software, and I believe it also worked when trying the Hydra ROM.
Many Thanks in advance.

But will it work on roms with 4.2.1 bootloaders?

Surdu got this ROM to boot on the new bootloader but wifi doesn't work yet. I would wait on him to post the steps needed to get everything working correctly. I have a feeling that it won't be long before he has the newer version ready.
If you can't wait and want to run this ROM with everything working then you can downgrade back to the 4.1 bootloader.
Here is the thread that will tell you how to downgrade the bootloader if you decide to do so.

Q1: You can still run Android 4.2.2 on the stock 4.1.1 bootloader, and you still are using the stock 4.1.1 bootloader. CM10.1 and AOKP do this.
Q2: When you flashed AOKP (which i used for a few months), did you format cache/dalvik/factory reset?
I received my Infinity this week, and am trying to do the OTA update to get Jellybean on it. I went into Settings....About Tablet....Check update. It did find an update earlier, downloaded, and attempted to install it. It deemed to be working because i got a message about Flash not working on Jellybean, but then it did the File Integrity check, and it told me it had failed. It then restored it back to the current version of ICS.
Since then I have tried to get it to reinstall, but every time time i check for updates, it tells me there is no update currently available for my device....does anyone know how to get this OTA update to install?
Thank you in advance for your help.

ROM: Cromi-X 4.3
Kernal: _That's V2
I have a tablet running 4.2.1 and every time I turn it on, it starts to install a camera firmware but just stays at 0% then says failed. It then boots into the OS, and says there's a new firmware update but the update just says "Camera Firmware Update Error" and never installs. The tablet works fine other than that.
I downloaded the same exact rom 10.x.x.15 and it still didn't fix it. Suggestions?
If you're on cromi then I think you're experiencing what I was too, here's my thread from a few days ago

If you're running anything but stock kernel that would explain why it isn't downloading, however I've noticed even after following sbdags' instructions that my front facing camera doesn't work anymore but at least I very rarely had ever used it. Hopefully this helps
im on cromi mate and both my cameras work fine

I don't know what Cromi is? I am just running a stock rom. However, I don't know for sure that the owner before me didn't have something else on the tablet.
Build Number:
JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.15.3-20130416
When you restart your tablet does it device unlocked in the top left corner, if it does then he probably did install a custom rom but if it doesn't then there is no way he did.

Swapped the cameras and still has the problem. It's definitely in the board. Any way to push the old firmware off and a new one on (even if it's the same version?)
