This was my most used app. With the quick launch widget configured you could map any app to any search+key combination. Wicked for productivity.
Unfortunately I had to completely wipe the tablet after the upgrade to JB and now after reinstalling everything I find this out. Anyone have tips/tricks? I haven't rooted yet but this would cause me to if someone can confirm it working on a custom rom.
Thanks.

I also use Anycut alot and had this same issue when i updated to JB. To solve this, use Anycut from the WIDGETS not the app drawer and you're good to go :victory:
Kinda Off-Topic:
How did you set up AnyCut to launch apps by pressing search+key? I dont see how you got that working
Edit:
Create shortcut to Settings->Quick Launch
QuickShortcutMaker
I don't know what youre shortcut needs are but I started using QuickShortcutMaker and it works on jellybean. I also had the Any Cut problem with jellybean. here is the link:

Has anyone gotten this app to work on their X10?? I have searched and searched and can't find any info on compatibility as far as OS 1.6 is concerned. I just can't seem to get it to work. Reviews on it are all pretty good so id like to make it happen. Im using Helix Launcher as well if it matters.
Ive also just tried to use it with ADW Launcher that is listed in this forum. I cannot get this thing to work
The app runs fine on my X10... which is to say once I went through the first configuration I could launch the app manually by selecting it in the app drawer.
However , I can't get it to launch off any of the hardware keys using press, double-press, nor press-hold. I'm using ADW.Launcher, so that may have to do with it.
Make QuickDesk default Home.
ive been having the same problem. will post if i can figure out how to get it working.
I got it working eventually (not sure what I did differently from before). You have to clear your launcher default, then select QuickDesk as your default launcher, and within it's settings specify the actual launcher you want to use.
I ended up uninstalling it though. Between using Quick Settings for managing all my toggles, and the black screen delay between pressing the home button and actually having the home screen display under QuickDesk, I wasn't all that impressed.

If you are facing difficulties setting up QuickDesk on your phone, here a guide for you, http://droidbar.net/2010/09/quickdesk-setup-guide/
QuickDesk works fine with both LauncherPro and ADW.Launcher.

After you do this, long press on an input field and select SwiftKey as your Input Method.
One of the things I really like about the version of ADW that comes with CM7 is the ability to configure the "double-tap" feature...a feature that's lost on the ADW EX. I had to switch to GO Launcher anyway, b/c I needed folder support in the app drawer.
Does anyone know of an app that brings back the customizable double-tap?
Thanks, and thanks for all the great work, everyone.
Pull the apk out of CM7, install it on your current ROM, and see if that works.
I thought adw still had that... well the market version used to have it. I dunno. but yeah there is no perfect launcher. sorry I don't have a suggestion. maybe a home switcher or lockscreen app since both types of apps sometimes hijack the home key to make sure they always work and will then call up the launcher app.

The free version does, but not the pay version, oddly enough.

I'm running CM7 as my ROM now. The double-click is part of the ADW bundled with it, which I don't want to use b/c of no folder support. There wouldn't be a separate .apk for just the double click, would there? I'd imagine that'd be part of the ADW?
Give it a try. Normally apps are bundled into their own apk files.
Has a working solution ever been found to address this issue?
My Nexus S (i9020a) is running on Jelly Bean, and after recently uninstalling the beta of Apex Launcher and then reinstalling the stable version, I noticed that my Power Control widget was gone.
After I noticed that, I uninstalled Apex Launcher completely (cleared data for the app first to be sure). Still, the Power Control widget was no longer available on my phone.
For the time being, I have downloaded a third-party equivalent off of the Play Store, but I'd really like to know what happened here. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, is there any way to get it back?

Nope. That's a third-party app. The stock Power Controls Widget is nowhere to be found in the app store.
Hi
I'm on the Nexus 7 and have noticed exactly the same thing. This is the stock Android Power Control Widget. It was there with stock launcher and also with Nova Beta, but with Apex, its nowhere to be found.
This just happened on my GNex as well. I figure we're suffering the same issue. Mine vanished after trying out a few 3rd party ones strangely enough. I haven't found anything yet to fix it. Rebooting after an uninstall didn't help either. Any ideas, peeps?

Lol. What the hell? I'm using Widgetsoid for the time being, but this was totally random. I tried reflashing my stock ROM, pushing the launcher via ADB. Zip. Ziltch. Nada. Wonder what could be causing it...

Perhaps a full wipe is in order... But I can live without it for now
Word. I don't really care anymore. It's more of a nuisance that I can't find out why it did.
It becomes unavailable in the widget drawer? What if you on press an empty area on the desktop and select widgets, is it in that list?

No, no longer in the list (for me anyway).
Hi,
Just my 2 cents.... I'm not sure About JB but all other ROMs the app had to be on the phones memory for the widget to even be available or on the widget list.... so perhaps whichever file the power control is in, maybe it got switched over to SD card
Or
An App that was installed moved the files that are needed for that power control widget.
I know its a stab in the dark but ...
Good luck

Go launcher ex
Replace your launcher with GO LAUNCHER EX, free on the Play Store. It is the BEST launcher by FAR. Super fast, tons of options, always free.
Thanks but no thanks
Did a factory reset and Power Control widget is back (on stock launcher), stock N7 JB.
I figured that's what I would have to do to get it back. Thanks for reporting back with a fix .

No worries. Have posted the problem on the main Alex thread, but no comments on it. Also have emailed the Dev, so hopefully it can be resolved soon.

backup your data, and do factory reset maybe it can help to restore the control widget
Hi,
I would have posted this in the Codename Android thread but since I'm a new user it seems I'm forced to clog up this forum. Sorry.
Anyway, I just upgraded from Codename Android 3.6.6 to 3.8.0. It's good but they seem to have removed one of the notification centre power widgets - there used to be two and now the one I was using isn't there any more. The other one does the job but isn't as customisable and the 2g/3g toggle doesn't seem to work.
So I was wondering if anyone could help me obtain an apk for the power widget, or alternatively recommend me one that is customisable and has a 2g/3g toggle that isn't just a settings shortcut.
Thanks in advance!
there are numerous applications that can be found in google play.
Did a 10 second search and found this, which seems really nice

Thanks, but I've actually tried that one before and it doesn't have a 3G toggle. I was kind of hoping someone would just whip out an apk from an older version...
Would it be possible for me to lift the feature from an older version of CNA, and install it on this? Or would I have to program something? I can't really do that...
