Anybody know where I can buy a new AT&T One X and be sure its not going to be the pariah that is v2.20?

I ordered one from Amazon Wireless last week and it came with 1.85.
I got mine at Best Buy yesterday, they let me look at the boxes and I picked the oldest one they had. H25 serial number.

Basically luck but only two weeks ago I ordered off Costco wireless store and got shipped with 1.73

I dropped the damn thing and broke. I've got insurance through my credit card but I refuse to go back to an unrooted phone.
Sooo, short of living with the crack, I believe I have 3 options,
1. Find a rootable replacement to buy
2. Repair the screen myself
3. Buy a SGS3
#1 would be the cheapest for me, the easiest, and would be my first choice.... I just need to find one. Unfortunately, the way the insurance works, I cant buy a used one.

Buy a new one from wherever and transplant the new phone's screen into your old phone if it happens to be one with the newer firmware... The One X is extremely easy to take apart.
I got mine from Costco early Oct FWIW. They must have some old stock or something

Just got to play with the AT&T one x at my local store and it's a beauty! I went in today for a screen protector for my note and was surprised to see a display model for the one x. It was promoting a bunch of beats stuff. Two headsets and a big speaker. Can wait to get this phone!

Same here, I wanted to check this out so I went in after the gym and was extremely impressed. I just posted my atrix for sell on Craigslist and will be scooping this up next week. What sold me was the durability of it and it also felt good in the hands. So with this phone as my daily driver and my note as my tablet I think I'm set for a while.

About one month ago I bought the HTC one s from bell for $100 on a new 3 year contract. This was a big mistake as I should have waited for the SG3. I am thinking about trading my one s on a site to try and get the SG3. Would trading my one s with an otter box case + $100 for a used SG3 be a fair trade? Is that too little or too much? My one a is not perfect. There is one nick in the metal on the top. Also is there a specific SG3 that I would need to work on the bell network.

This seems like a very good deal if the GS3 is near mint. When I was looking for my GS3 I was offering my near mint white nexus + $150 cash
Who is it a really good deal for? I'm assuming for the guy with the GS3. The thing is unfortunately my phone isn't mint. There is one large nick at the top, and a bunch of really small ones around the micro USB port. How long did it take for someone to accept your deal?

I lost my one x I bought from the att store, and I neglected to purchase insurance. So I bought a new one from amazon 2 days ago. It arrived today with 1.85 installed. Havnt even put my att SIM in yet, cuz i'm afraid of an autoupdate.
I'll try rooting/unlocking/ROMing when I get home. Hope my misfortune ended up being a blessing in disguise.

Lucky. I bought a REFURBISHED and "UNLOCKED" HTC One X from a seller on Amazon.
It came in a AT&T box, with AT&T bloatware, and 2.20.
I think I'll return it. It isn't even unlocked...
EDIT: The screen also flickers every 30 seconds.

Ummm, it wasn't meant as a gloat, but rather to let people know that amazon has 1.85's that are not warranty refurbs.

Every refurb I've seen since around last month have had 2.20 on it. Idk if HTC is updating when they are repairing them or if Att is manually updating them.

Seemed like you were boasting. Figured Amazon who probably not be as apt to update the units they have sitting around. I got my replacement from a company that deals with AT&T. So I was expecting it to come with 2.20.
i picked up a 2nd one x today from costco it has 1.85.
Got my One X last thursday from Sams Club with 1.85
Add best buy mobile to the list because i got mine with 1.85 from my online order
I received a $49 refurb from AT&T wednesday with 1.85. Needless to say its rooted, unlocked and sporting Venom now.
Costco sent me one with 1.73 about a month ago
Just wondered if anyone is going to sell their one s and get the nexus 4 next week? I'm seriously considering it.

When I bought it two months ago, I wanted a 4,3'' screen, a slim device device, and a gorgeous design.
According to me, the Nexus 4 has none of this things.

Call AT&T to order. I just did it 2 hours ago. Black is out of stock but white was still available. I recommend doing it quickly before they are out of stock as well.
