[Q] Is there anyway to remove recovery? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Long story short ..I already had EZ Recovery 2.2 installed but then I had to flash my phone & i ended up installing Team Win's Recovery UNOFFICIAL-2.2.2.1
So I was wondering is there any way to uninstall TWRP? or should I just get rid of EZ instead
Thanks

EZ Recovery is only an app. Flash whatever recovery you want and it will replace your current recovery.

EZ-Recovery problem with TWRP

I am rooted, and unlocked, but when I use EZ-Recovery to flash the TWRP recovery image, it only stays until the phone is rebooted. Is this how it is supposed to work?
Basically if I open EZ-Recovery and flash TWRP then reboot to recovery its fine. After I reboot FROM TWRP back into Android, the recovery is back to stock.

[Q] Backing Up ROM Error

Hi,
When I try to backup my current ROM using Clockwork Mod (which I installed before trying) I get a red triangle and I can't do anything. I am looking to flash a new ROM to my phone but I can't backup my current one which makes me think it is going to be difficult to flash a new one. Any help greatly appreciated
if i remember correctly, the red triangle is the stock recovery, which means you probably didn't successfully install clockworkmod
try flash recovery again, see what happens. also would recommend 4ext over clockworkmod
Ok thanks I will give this a go
I installed 4ext recovery and I still get the same issue. What do I do now?
Tried going through the bootloader but that still doesn't help

Just to be sure: What exactly did you do to install 4ext recovery? (commands, resulting output)
I installed as normal, it flashed and I can't get into recovery

What exact command did you use to flash the recovery?

I did it through the app - I didn't use a command to flash it. Did I do something wrong during the installation process?

If your htc devunlocked then you need to flash it through adb fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. If your unsure then click the link in my sig and look at post 2 you'll find a link to installing 4ext recovery and a custom rom. Clear and concise instructions

I am HTC dev unlock so I will have a look at your guide - thanks!

CWM to TWRP

How do I convert from CWM to TWRP properly?
I searched around and it seems that I should just be able to use goomanager and install open recovery script. I do that, I see it download TWRP and then it says recovery installed, but when I reboot recovery, it still takes me to CWM.
If I go into ROM Manager, it looks like both recoveries are installed and then clicked to use TWRP and it still booted in CWM.
Then I used ROM Installer to install TWRP and now it reboots into TWRP when I reboot into recovery.
But, when I go into ROM Manager, it still says that CWM is installed. Do I need to get rid of that? If so, how?
I would try this. Odin to CWM, uninstall ROM Manager, and then use Goomanager to update to TWRP.

Not exactly sure what Odin to CWM means. Odin is software on my PC? Will that be destructive in any way? Right now, it does all seem like it's working fine except that ROM Manager sees CWM there too.
Any other ideas?
Install flashify from the play store.
Download your recovery .img of choice.
Flash .img using flashify, reboot to recovery.

I don't think I need that. I have TWRP installed and it boots to it, but ROM Manager says that CWM is also installed. Is it really there? Do I need to get rid of it and if so, how?

If you reboot to recovery, what recovery does it take you to?
If it's TWRP, disregard the notice from Rom Manager.

TWRP.
Ok, I'll just ignore that then.

Uninstall Rom Manager while you're at it.

I meant install CWM with Odin. Uninstall ROM Manager first.

How to uninstall TWRP to recover the factory recovery ?

Hello,
I installed TWRP by fastboot mode.
I would like to uninstall TWRP to recover the original recovery.
Would anyone know the steps to follow or the tutorial recommended for this purpose?
Thank you in advance.

You should be able to flash stock recovery through fastboot the same way you flashed twrp. Just get the proper recovery.img file and fastboot flash it, It'll replace twrp with the stock one. If you don't care about wiping your phone you could just flash the whole stock rom which might be easier.
What is the reason for wanting the stock recovery back?
Bonjour/ Hi LeMoise,
I want to recover the recovery because my gyroscope sensor is down.
This to send it back to the store and claim the warranty without any problems because I installed AOKP.
Do you know where can I find original android recovery.img? Is there an address?
Ps: Je parle Français aussi.
HELP
Isn't it tough to manage? reason to know why you really wanna uninstall? Is there everything perfect to Uninstall TWRP?
Not Yet! I didn't find any good idea about it. Anybody help?
you don't uninstall twrp..
you flash over it with the factory recovery..
every device has a different recovery.
you will have to find the exact right one for your device.
I'm regular installing twrp on different devices to test them whether twrp properly working on these devices or not.
You can't remove twrp recovery from your android device. I'm not alone who saying this. twrp. me official website also says that. It is impossible to uninstall twrp recovery from any android device. But yes, they're saying the only method to remove twrp from you device is replacing.
Mean you can replace twrp recovery from your device stock recovery. By doing this stock recovery will overwrite on twrp recovery. This is the only way to uninstall twrp from your android device.
If you want to know more deeply about removing twrp then check twrpupdate guide - https://twrpupdate.com/uninstall-twrp-recovery/
Hope it helps you.
If you still have any query then dm me. Or reply here. I'll reply as soon as possible.
^helpful TWRP info! cheers

I can enter fast boot mode erecovery fails every time
I think I need to flash a recovery is there's a way without a pc
There's a way to flash recovery without a pc, you have to use Flashify. Just google it.
But you must be rooted, otherwise it won't work.
