Hello,
I want to install and run Jelly bean 4.1.1 on my Samsung Galaxy Pocket (GT-s5300). So my questions are :
1) Is it possible to run Jelly beans 4.1.1 on GT-s5300.
2) If yes then where can I find the Jelly Beans ROM and how can i flash it on my GT-S5300.
Please help I am tired of running Android 2.3 on my phone.
Thanks
ICS not available yet for S5300
Hi
I don't think there is one that exists . Even I am waiting for one. 2.3.6 official ROM is too slow, it atleast takes 3-4 seconds to start a call after pressing the green 'call' button.
In the past I heard rumours of Android 4.0 officially getting available for this device (but you know it is Samsung - generally they take around a year to get their updates to reach their device) so not sure if this is first of all true. There are other ROMs that call it like 'jelly mod roms', but they are again not ICS versions. Not sure why Cyanogen Mod is not working on this device.
There is a place called 'Androidust' blogs - where I noticed twice that they are running an article on an app that can be installed on an ICS based ROM on Galaxy Pocket, which is pure mockery - why? because there is no single ICS Rom that is yet available to run this app on this device and they are running this article as to how to port that app on an ICS running galaxy pocket! will they every do the research before posting such blogs!
I am even trying to dump this device for a sony ericsson mini (as I am looking for small form factor device or some device from micromax) owing to its slow speed, mainly it makes me go crazy during initiating a dial.

I recall reading these and I'm pissed off at them for publishing stuff like that.
Anyhow, there is no official ICS/JB, nor is there CyanogenMod... your best bet is to flash the MAK-DROID ROM for speeding up your device a little bit and then flashing JellyMOD on top of it. It's the closest you're going to get for now. It will require you to root your device though and you will lose all your data so back it up if you need to. If you don't want to root or flash, then there's little you can do.
Also, I heard someone ported CyanogenMod 7.2 RC1 but I have yet to see a download link for it.

Not trying to put words in ptmr3's mouth, but I think.. that if he knew what's going on here with the new ICS for this, he'd. Make it for this.. you asked him permission, correct.?

I tested almost 2 days and everything was working. (data, wifi, BT,GPS,calls). The ROM does have root access, I installed Root Explorer and follow directions to set permissions for the app. Drove me nuts for a few minutes thinking I screwed something up. Any app that requires root access will ask to set permissions. Highly customizable ROM. CAM works same as CM9 from TFQ. Give it a go and let me know what you think

If you use Titanium Backup, be patient with it. You have to answer a million questions about giving root access. It eventually grants acess.
I also tested music player and its amazing. Volume controls were working correctly. Good luck and enjoy

Beautiful rom, MIUI was my rom of choice when I had my ATT SGS2. Having run into any issues yet, except I can't apply themes. Also, when I've used MIUI in the past, I was able to swipe the notification bar a certain way and open up the app drawer. I think there was a zip or something to make that doable, but it's been a while so I can't remember. Is there something like that available for this rom? Is there, or will there be a fix for the theme issue?
Thanks alot for all the work that went into this.

Very much settings, more than PAC and seems to have all cm10.1 bugs. Successfully flashed cm 10.1 swap file. Theming is only done because of my cm theme. But this rom seems to be a better PAC rom, as i said before in to daily use now and it seems to work flawlessy. Everybody should try this rom and maybe one of our developers can continue the work on it. I am using it with butter kernel 1.2 by Grarak.

Before, it use pacman's framework & settings for the mix rom thing as his mod rom base since JB 4.1, it was all right actually, but later on at JB 4.2 he erased pacman's commit histories in his forked source and claimed it to be his work, and some of the Pac member reported him for stealing someone else work, that is why he and his work were banned in xda.
I hope he is doing it right this time in his new release somewhere else.

This is most likely Epic modem standard, but you can use Effsi's modem swapper zip to switch to Nexus if you want. If it's Nexus modem standard, you can use the same zip to get back to Epic modem.
