I currently have an opportunity to buy either an HTC One X for $50, a Samsung GS3 for $50, or a Samsung GS2 SkyRocket for $10.....Which would be the better choice? I am constantly flashing ROMs. I have also used Samsung devices a lot more than HTC, but that's not to say that I would be opposed to getting either one. I just need some advice, I'm pretty torn here. Please Help!:fingers-crossed:

This might not belong here and should perhaps go in the Galaxy S subforum but I would like to get the opinions of more than just those who have the phone in general.
I am wondering what people think will happen regarding the hacker and dev community with regards to the Samsung Galaxy S. Samsung have put in a good deal of effort to the market the phone. They might even be embracing the hacker community, leaving the phone relatively easy to root when compared to previous Samsung phones. This suggests that they have realised the benefits that come with a good dev community behind their phone and are trying to pull people towards it.
The question is - will the community take the bait? Currently the community favours phones from rival companies such as the HTC Desire. Generally, the subforums for the Desire are filled with new releases while the Samsung Galaxy S' subforums are still relatively empty. Do you think people slowly gravitate towards the new Galaxy S and its new hardware and develop as many apps as they have been for the Desire and other HTC phones before it?
The reason I am asking this question is because I am going to buy a new phone at the end of August and am picking between the Desire and the Galaxy S. I really like the new hardware on the Samsung but am worried that if the community doesn't embrace the Galaxy S, updates will stop coming (Samsung are notorious for not supporting their own phones for very long). If people think devs will slowly move to the Samsung Galaxy S, I will almost certainly get that phone. If not, then I might stick to the Desire.

I think it all depends on what type of things you do with your daily phone.
The Galaxy Note is definitely good if you do a lot of documentation reading since the screen is large but small enough to fit in your pocket.
But the One X sports the quadcore processor that will definitely keep up with multitasking/games. The battery may be an issues though. For the processor and screen it looks to be a good battery life, but 12 hours of "normal use" as Engadget says isn't really helpful since no one is going to pay to get a quad core and use it normally.
It's time for me to make a decision on a new phone and i am stuck between the Galaxy S3 and the Razr HD.
In the past I haven't cared for Samsung's phones only because they seem to almost never get updates. But now my main concern is which phone is better suited for being flashed for custom roms.
I would appreciate everyones input on which phone they would recommend both for usability and customization.
Thanks in advance.

Well I can tell you personally that I love my GS3, there is tons of dev work on it already and will continue as thus. But it really comes down to preference go to the verizon store and play with both models, thats what I did before making my purchase.
I'm interested in jumping from my current contract to a prepaid phone. I'd like to stick with a phone with an unlockable bootloader and something under $350. I'm interested in getting a used Nexus S. Would this be a good investment? Should I go with a Galaxy Nexus? I've heard about issues with the Nexus S and battery life.

Hi all. I'm trying to find the best phone for me and I value your input. I have had all of the Galaxy Phones except for the S5. I really am big on flash and eye candy. I'm trying to decide which At&t phone to get next between the LG G3, S5 and the HTC One M8. I'm obviously going to want to root it and such, but I just want to make sure that I pick a phone that I'm going to be happy with. I currently have the S3 and it does what I need for it too, but I just want a bump in hardware and such. So, between these 3 phones, which do you think I would be happier with? Which one has the more flash, glitz, eye candy, etc? Thanks all.
