[Q] help plz cannot root my atrix 2 - Motorola Atrix 2

Very sorry for posting the similar thread , but I really can't find any solutions on Google or here
I did a one click root method that provided by xda, but it always shows some command like 'no such file or directory' , 'permission denied' , 'cannot copy files'. I have enabled USB debugging and allowed non-market Apps installation.
I am running windows 7 and moto original android 4.0.4
I have tried different methods like putting the root files into c drive, having different USB cables, re-install the latest motor driver, restart the phone and computer....
can anyone help me? please.
Or should I use sbf to flash a different version first?

For my best understanding, 67.220.3.en05 is only available from the HKTW OTA update up to now (SBF is not available), which is known that it's not able to be rooted at this moment (except replacing the boot.img with the ASIA RETAIL version)

Thank you for the help of all guys here.
I used the method of changing boot.img providing by the china android web page.
I now have a root access...
It still has problems...it is not available to have ota update although I know there is very little chance to have update again, it can be solved by flashing hk/tw 2.3.6 sbf and upgrading via ota.

I tried that, but it said it failed to get shell root. A lot of the Huawei devices are supported, but I didn't see any of them that had 2.3.6.
Hopefully someone will figure something out. I bought this as a spare phone, and it would be great to get rid of all the bloatware and rev it up a little bit.
Yes, I am having the very same problem. I have tried ZRoot, Ginger Break, Unlock Root, just to name a few. Still no luck. Please help.

Try this.
Try using this method for the Fusion 1 but don't install any Fusion/Sonic roms because the CPU on the Fusion 2 is faster and it will cause malfunctioning. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494843 :good:

Ok sorry let me start off by apologizing I was using the wrong version of Super One Click.
List of everything I am/have done so that maybe you can pinpoint anything I may be missing or doing wrong:
Installed Android SDK
Installed Java SE DEV KIT 7 update 9
Installed SuperOneClick 2.3.3
Made sure SD card is unmounted
Put phone in USB debugging mode
Turned on Log Switch
Set Log Setting to Verbose
Rebooted phone
Run SuperOneClick 2.3.3
Then I get stuck at step 7 Program stops responding
Hope you might have a clue what to do from here and thanks for your help either way. I tried to send a screenshot but it won't let me post links yet. If you need one send me a email same screen name at gmail
Unlockroot
You need unlockroot wich is better than superone click try it see if it works.

OMG! I totally messed it up... [:'(] can anyboby please help me??

i am using HCL me G1 Tab (Android 4.0.4 ), Kernel: 3.0.8+.Recovery System 4[3e]. this is my 1st android device, bought it 1 week ago. I am new in Android World.....
I installed Superuser.apk (v3.1.3) [using normal apk installation method]..... Then I got root access in FX File explorer and Titanium backup... Today I found another SUPERUSER.zip (v3.2 signed)..
I tried to flash it from recovery but didn't work... So I just extracted zip files in following folders and replaced the previous ones:
1st mistake, i just copied superuser.apk to /system/app folder [using FX explorer]
2nd, replaced 'su' in /system/bin with the new one.
3rd, copied contents from xbin folder to /system/xbin
Done! and now Superuser not working......
Now u guys can feel what i've done.... just messed up every thing.. Superuser.apk has become a system app, so i can't remove it.. can't delete it because I lost root access in FX explorer. su command not working, because doesn't have permissions... Titanium backup not working... etc.. :crying:
i have some other problems [before all these happened]... after installing andriod sdk and adb drivers, adb commands don't find my device. so i can,t push 'su' again into device.. SuperOneClick stop responding after *daemon started successfully*....
can't install SuperUser in recovery mode.. coz i always get the error:
-- Install /mnt/external_sd ...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Can anybody please help me??? I know its my mistake but still i hope for some help from u guys... Please tell me what to do now [when nothing is working]....
thanks in advance..

Can you just re-flash your ROM ? I can't promise you it will work, but if you just clear caches and /system, then you shouldn't lose anything on the internal memory and can start over.

Its pretty simple, just reflash ur phone or simply try to restore it, every android device has an emergency downlod mode, if u can figure out urs, u can simply connect your phone to the pc in edm and input ur imei code or serial number, and abt 45 mins on a 150kB/s speed you will have your device back to normal

Serious performance problems and confusion about ROMs

Hi there!
I have some problems with my P920 and I don't really know, what to do. I started with stock Android 2.3.5. I rooted the phone, installed CWM5 and JellyBam. This ROM was extremely laggy/buggy, so I installed CM10.1 (+Bootloader), which ran really smooth. As I wanted to have the 3D capability, I installed the stock ICS ROM, which was extremely laggy, too. Now I downloaded XBSA ICS V8 and installed this kernel. I was happy to get a good performance, but 3D, too. Now the phone still is extremely laggy. I guess, I did one wrong thing, that makes all the ROMs run really bad. Do you have any suggestions?
Second, I would like to get some hints, which 3D-ROM is the fastest in games. I would prefer JB ROMs before ICS, but would also accept missing features, as I e.g. don't need mobile internet connection, tethering, bluetooth.
I hope, you are willing and able to give me one or two advices
Thanks in advance!
OdlG
I installed stock ICS and XBSA a few more times, but i still have those performance issues. Doesn't anyone have a clue?
One thing is certain: If you want 3D capabilities, you'll have to stick to android 4.0.4
About the performance issues, I'm on stock ics rom (v30a) and Acura's last Kernel (subito v2) and everything is really smooth.
Maybe you should try a clean install of stock ics, i mean flashing the v30a or v30b kdz file. That should clean up any errors/bugs that you currently have.
Also, you can try Acura´s kernel. This one that I'm using has one small bug, the conversation volume during calls is a little low, but everything runs really smooth, just perfect. I can even afford to reduce the maximum cpu speed to 900 MHz, without feeling the phone slower.
One other thing, I'm using Atom Launcher (the one used by xbsall's custom roms), and it's also lighter and smoother than the stock lg launcher.
Thanks for the reply
Where can I download the v30b KDZ? I only have a prerooted v30a ZIP. Until now I couldn't use KDZ files as my phone isn't recognised under win8 although I installed all the drivers as mentioned in the XBSA-Noobs-Guide.
Use LG Mobile Support Tool and update to latest v30a rom(EU) or v30b(USA).
After that use OS_Hackings AIO tool and flash ics bootloaders and custom recovery.
After that root and you're done.
There are many tuts on this forum to follow..

If you live in Europe, you should flash the V30A kdz.
Download it from here:
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=2
If your country has a v30a kdz, download it. If not, download "Europe Open".
Use V30B only if you live in USA or in other american country.
I downloaded the EU open v30a.kdz (germany has none?! ). I started the FlashTool, which installed the USB driver and downloaded the official v21e.kdz. But my PC always gets a bluescreen when the phone boots into fasttboot mode.
Is there a way to flash my v30A.kdz by hand?

Don't do that, that would flash 21e (gingerbread).
There's somewhere in the forum a offline installer for kdzs that will allow you to flash the v30a (ics).
I don't have the link here, search it in forum.

It finally worked. I tried the Flashing Tool on my Laptop (Win8 x64) and could immediately flash the v28_Large Rom+Baseband. After that I flashed XBSA ICS v8 via Recovery. Everything works fine except one problem:
I got a new SIM-card today (first time mobile Internet for me). I am able to call my friends (1&1 Germany), but I can't get the mobile Internet to work properly. Is this caused by the baseband or by settings? (enabled everything about mobile data/roaming)

[Q] No USB Connectivity - How to Root?

I've had my Galaxy Tab 2.0 7 for about 5 months now, and have rooted it, installed Modded ROMs, etc. Really enjoyed it.
However, yesterday, I decided to clean up my 32 gig external memory chip, and hooked up the USB cable to the computer as in the past.
Whoops! PC will now not recognize the tablet in USB mode. Nothing changed from the day before, both PC and tablet had worked together then.
Now, I get this message in the Device manager of the PC "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
I tried the normal things, reinstalling drivers, using different USB ports, etc. Nothing worked. So, I'm assuming that I had a hardware failure
in the tablet or the USB cord that came with it.
I'd like to know if there is anyway to "Root" my tablet by Using wireless? That still works, and I can move stuff off and onto the tablet. But I
would still like to have the obvious advantages of it being rooted.
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give.
OK, first off, if you've already rooted it and installed custom ROM's, why would you need to root it again? you talk of reinstalling drivers but have you rebooted BOTH the computer and the tablet since this problem occurred and you redid the drivers? Why are you trying to connect to the computer to erase files on the tablet, you do know there is a file manager in android that you can use to delete files? If you don't mind buying the pro version there is an app called "wifi file transfer" that connects to your PC via a web browser and you can copy files off and on (never done onto myself) your tablet with over wifi, I use it when I'm at work and don't have my cords with me but need to moves pictures from an android device to my laptop.

Need to root it again, because somehow, the root was removed. Still works just fine, have busybox and clockwork recovery, but it is not rooted. Don't ask me why. And, yes, I have rebooted both units, probably 4 or 5 times - reinstalled drivers several times. I normally use wireless to remove files, because it is faster, and easier to find the files I want. I have WiFi Transfer Pro, but that doesn't help the "root" situation. I don't have any problems moving files onto and off of the tablet, just can't root without USB connectivity.
No Answers, I guess. What this boils down to:
Is there anyway to root this device without using USB connectivity?

Here is a tutorial for rooting with cwm, I'm not sure how well it works though.
http://www.cursed4eva.com/root-galaxy-tab-2/
I guess just download the cwm root file and flash it.

cwm
If you have clockwork mod working then all you need to do is flash the same ROM you are running, you should then be up and running with a fully functional rooted ROM if I'm not mistaken

This tutorial requires USB connectivity to flash the tablet using Odin. (Which I would love to do, but can't).
Thanks for the thought tho.

That is for flashing cwm, which you said you all ready have. You just skip to step 11 since you have cwm. There is a cwm flash able root.zip on the page.

Thanks again to both of you. I'll try both and let you know how it goes.

wich rom are you using right now?? beacuse if by loosing root you just mean that you do not have anymore the superuser app that does not mean that you losto root!!! for example on my PAC-ROM i have root but no superuser app because superuser is integrated in the setting menu!!!
and so i think that now it is the same for most CM based ROM.
But if you easly want to check it just install from play store superSU from chainfire! it will check root on the first opening!!

I am using the "PSN_Stock_P3100XXDMB1_4.1.2" ROM. And I indeed lose "Root", but still had SU and busybox. How it happened, I'm not quite sure. I followed bluecarbon's advice, and flashed a cwm flash able root.zip. That did it very nicely. I now have root and am a very happy camper.
Thanks to everyone, especially bluecarbon.
No problem, now i know it works. I always do the opposite. I root then flash cwm, so...Now I know.

Need help bad
I have a galaxy tab 2 10.1 p5110. It came with i think i 4.0.3 or 4. I used odin to upgrade to 4.1.1 then rooted it through the same odin. now the usb connection is gone. when i plug into my pc it only charge the tap and nothing else. Because of this i cannot do anything with it using usb. It also can be boot into recovery but when i try to install a rom it say signiture verification failed. it does this will every rom.
I really need help. I want to install the 4.1.2 firmware for my device but i cannot get usb connection.

Can you boot to recovery?
What did you install or modify to cause this issue?
Does the device show in device manager? What is it labelled as in device manager?
Do you have all of the USB drivers for Samsung phones installed?
Did you have USB debugging turned on before this issue started?
Are you using a Samsung official USB cord?
Have you tried connecting to other USB ports on PC while using Odin?
Try 3.0 ports then try 2.0 ports
Are you using the stock firmware for your specific model number and region in Odin?
Are you flashing the same android version that your device came with when you try to flash with Odin, or is what you're flashing older than what you had?

I dont think you understood these 2 questions.
I didn't ask which or how many versions of Odin you used. I asked if the stock firmware that you're flashing is specifically for your model number and region.
I asked if what you are flashing in Odin is the same android version(KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, etc..) as what your device came with?
Or is what you're flashing older or newer than what your device had.

My questions were meant to be answered with yes or no. I did not ask what version your firmware was and I didn't ask for your build number or where you got it from. This answer that you gave me doesn't answer what I asked. I've asked twice now and still haven't gotten the answer I needed. I'm done asking, good luck.
