Hi,
I am using my HTC Touch Pro with an Opel Vectra built-in bluetooth carkit.
All functions, like browsing the address book and call registers, are working fine. However, at random times, my carkit reports no phone. When I then check my Touch Pro's bluetooth status, I see that it is has been disabled.
After manually re-enabling it, I can pair with my carkit for as long as it takes for bluetooth to turn itselves off again.
I've already tested with JETware, but that does not change anything. Also tried the universal broadcom bluetooth stack, but doesn't seem to work on the Touch Pro. HTC only comes with a standard answer that they don't support all carkits and headsets... Since the BT stack on the phone seems to crash, I don't think it's a carkit issue.
Anyone here with the same issue? And maybe a solution?
Thanks and regards!!
Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> Timeout (tab). Turn off Visible mode set to "Never".
I think this must be your problem.
Hi Freco,
Thanks for your reply! This option is set. However it's not really the visibility that turns to invisible, but the whole bluetooth stack is being turned off completely. Need to fully re-enable it via Comm Manager.
Any other options? Does anyone know if there is a working broadcomm stack for the Touch Pro?
Regards!
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with a Vauxhall kit, I have tried all sorts of things, but nothing seems to work
try:
start -> settings -> connections -> bluetooth
timeout tab
select 'never' from drop down box
Hi Brendo,
Unfortunately this doesn't solve the issue. Once paired, the connection even works without being visible. It's also not a fixed period of time before the disconnect takes place (can be within a minute, sometimes after half an hour). However, the whole bluetooth icons disappears from the top icon bar and comm manager shows it's turned off completely.
Hope somebody has any other ideas, because the only thing HTC can do is point to the carkit vendor :-(. Since all functionality is there when connected and the phone is turning off BT in some way, I really don't think this is caused by the carkit vendor. I should at least expect BT to stay enabled on the phone.
Thanks!
Yes, same here, BTW I have tried this in my Friends Saab, and the same problem.
same problem here with a Opel DVD90 buildin bluetooth carkit.
With other htc phones it always worked like a charm, but my mda vario IV continuously disconnects after a random time period and shuts down the complete stack.
Try this!
I have the same problem with my opel with original bluetooth-kit (2007). On the touch pro I changed the band and network from auto to GSM, as G3 reseption in this area is quit poor, especialy while driving. It helped for me, at least the last few days. I agree this has been an annoying problem.
I have tried to switch to "GSM only mode" in the past, but as far as I remember it does not completely solve the issue. However, I will give it another shot! Actually I can't figure out at what point it occurs... It can happen within a minute or after half an hour without using any funtion.
Does one of you know if there is a way to do some debugging on the Bluetooth stack?
And has anyone experience with other Windows Mobile 6.1 based phones in this combination (just curious if it's a WM issue or HTC only)?
Furthermore I did some tests with JetWare. You should be able to limit the number of synchronised items then (might be related to this issue). However, it looks like this configured limit is being totally ignored: when I limit my recent call list to 5 with JetWare, it still syncs about 25 items. Anyone tested with Jetware?
I have tried the GSM only mode, this didn't help either
I have now given up and got myself a Nokia E66, which works perfectly.
All contacts are pushed to car, no disconnects and AD2P works so my mp3 ringtones play through the car speakers! Sweet
Word of note, I had issues with N-Series phones, would connect ok, but contacts would not push.
I have the samen problem with my HTC Touch Pro and Saab.
bluetooth pairs just fine with my pioneer bluetooth enabled deck, but the problem iwth mine is once i receive a call sometimes no sound comes from the car, instead the earpiece is still on. but if i initiate the call first sound works just fine and earpiece on the phone is disabled, BUT once the call is ended bluetooth disconnects randomly and the phone takes a good 1-2min to reconnect. i absolutely hate the bluetooth on this phone!

I am having the same problems you describe. Anyone got an suggestions???
I encountered the same problem; first with an opel udp carkit and next with the bluetooth interface software from homeseer.
It has something to do with phone signal loss.
With the opel carkit I noticed bluetooth automatically turns off when the phonesignal switched from 3g to gsm.
I also noticed that in my home, BT turns off whenever I have been in a room with no phone-signal reception.
try this thread, both registry change and attached cab file, reset. DOn't worry if the make visible to all option is unchecked.

Got my wife a TF-300 for her birthday back in May and just bought an LG HBS-700 stereo bluetooth headset for her from Amazon.com last week. Opened the headsets box, read the quick instructions and noted all I had to do was turn them on for the initial pairing. Turned BT on in the settings of the TF-300, turned on the headset, and it paired & connected fine. Tried music player & streaming TuneIn radio. All worked great. All audio apps seem to work perfectly. She used it all day Tuesday.
Then came Wednesday.
Woke up the tablet, turned on the headphones, started the streaming audio, and nothing. Checked BT connections and it showed connected. Adjusting the volume shows the BT icon, but no audio out through BT at all. Turn BT off and it plays through the speaker or external jack just fine. Turn on BT and it's gone again.
Tried everything I could think of. Un-paired and re-paired the headset several times. No help. Did a manual re-pairing, still no good. Tried the headset with 2 different cell phones and they work great. Turned WiFi off and still couldn't get any audio out through BT. Even tried playing local music and still no go.
I read the earlier models of the Transformers had numerous BT problems, but I thought they were all fixed in the 300.
Any suggestions at all?
Have you try to reset the tablet ?

Usre Nokia BT 'phones here regularly with no issues. When you say testedwith cell phones is this in call mode (mono) or HQ Audio? try deleting the device before re pairing.
Got a computer you can pair up with and try? Eliminates the headset as the problem if it works.

Do you mean a "Factory data reset" in the settings menu? Won't that wipe out all the apps & data I have on the tablet?
I hoped I wouldn't have to resort to that just to get BT working, especially if it's not a sure fix.

I tested the headsets on my Epic 4G and my wife's Evo 4G both in phone and HQ audio modes. Both worked great.
I tried to "delete" the headset listing by unpairing the headset then turning BT off then on. The listing disappears, but I'm not sure some of that data isn't cached somewhere. I then put the headset in pairing mode, but nothing is searched for by the pad until I turn BT off then on again. When I do it finds it and I can pair it and connect fine, but still no audio.
The play/pause/fwd/back buttons work on the headset to control the playback, just no audio out at all from the TF-300.
Really starting to bug me now.
My moto stereo headset has the same issue with the tablet. Its a bluetooth issue.
Sometimes the tablet shows connected but won't show bt icon on volume changes. I also lose audio like the op.
Only rebooting the tablet fixes it, hold power button down.
I had a TF100 that did the same thing. So I doubt its hardware, its software related. The headset worked fine when I had a iPhone.

Hard Reset This cleans system caches, but does not delete any user data.
Unplug the power cord and shut the unit off. Press and hold the VOL DOWN and then POWER button at the same time for at least 10-12 seconds until after the start-up screen appears and is joined by some small print at the top of the screen, then let them both go. If the TF booted the way it always does, you have not accomplished the task, try again until you have seen the 2 icons in the screen.
After a few seconds you should see a couple of icons in the middle of the screen called "Wipe Data" and "Android". The right "Android" will have a green highlight fading in and out. Wait a few more seconds until the term "Cold Booting Linux" appears in the list near the top of the screens and let it reboot. If you own a keyboard dock be sure you do this with the dock connected.
This process applies to all TF models, however, if your Prime or tf300 is locked up, there is a reset available using the hole just below the microSD slot, this is NOT the same as a hard reset.
I got this info from transformers forum.
The is also the factory reset but you loose all your data.

Huge thanks. The hard reset seems to have fixed it for now. We'll see how it handles it after a few on/off connections with the headset. If it turns out to be a constant problem my wife will definitely not be using the headsets as she has no patience for rebooting the tablet every time it won't connect. Hopefully it will work right from now on.
Thanks again.
Glad that i was able to help :good:
The Hard reset procedure helped me, too. I have had exactly the same problem as OP with my TF300T. I checked two my bluetooth headsets - they were both not working.
Anyway, thanks for the help.
Greg O: let me know, if the problem appears to be fixed constantly, or not.
Edit: O.K., unfortunately, this helped me temporarily. After some time of listening, sound disappeared again
is the bluetooth audio bit enabled and connected when this happens?
as in not just the device being connected, but when its connected tap the little equaliser icon next to it, and check that it says connected to media.
I have "Media audio" and "Phone audio" both enabled.
Update about my problem: Yesterday I got the Jelly Bean update OTA (Android 4.1.1) and it seems that "no sound on Bluetooth" problem was solved. I have been listening to the music for some time now and everything works fine (there is a small delay between voice and video on films, but I can live with this).
Happy now.

good to hear its working now - just in case it happens again, what i mean is to check again those settings when the sound doesn't work and make sure it says connected to media. But hopefully won't happen anyway!

Hi There,
I Have an Asus Transformer (something with 300) and a bluetooth headset.
I Have downlaoded two apps, to route the music to the headset:
1. Bluetooth Manager ICS
2. BTmono
first one works fine for me, until i made an firmware update.
now nothing works. settings says, the headset is connectet, buttons works fine, but no sound
the apss says all is fine, but no sound
the headset works normal on handy, and pc.
i have tried hard reset, but nothing. it wont work
i only wont to hear music on the go.. can it be so difficult to du that with a bluetooth headset?!?
Hi all. I have read several threads about some problems people were having with bluetooth disconnects, primarily with car BT systems.
I am having a problem that is similar but a little different sounding.
Sometimes it works fine.
But other times (especially if, for example, the bluetooth comes on during a call and I hit the button to turn on speaker phone, for example, during that single call) I have an issue where the bluetooth keeps disconnecting.
I will go in to the settings menu and will see my Plantronics Voyager HD headset and it will say Paired. When I select it on the bluetooth settings page it will then say "Connecting to Audio" and will start working. However, as soon as I dont use it for a few seconds, I will get a voice message through the headset that says "Phone 2 Disconnected" and it stops working until I go through the entire manual process in the settings menu described above.
I dont have any other bluetooth device paired, and I tried to delete and then add this device a second time, so I dont know why it says "Phone 2 Disconnected" and if that has something to do with the frequent BT disconnects.
Im on stock ICS.
Any ideas?
I've noticed that ever since I upgraded to 38R I keep getting disconnected from my bluetooth car stereo. When it disconnects the Bluetooth icon on the OPO goes grey. It looks like the Bluetooth module is crashing and then getting reset by the OS. I just got done with a 30 minute drive and it happened 3 times. Has anybody else noticed anything funky with the Bluetooth stack?
I've also had the phone itself hard crash several times. Not sure if 38R is ready for prime time.
I'm not running anything custom, just pure 38r on a rooted/twrp device. No exposed or other mods.
I updated manually last night and this morning on the drive in, I had it suddenly switch from my Ford's Sync system to the internal speaker. The dash display showed the phone was attached and when I switched from Pocket Casts to Play Music, it reflected what was playing, but the sound came out of the phone, not the car stereo. I went into the settings and toggled music off and on, switched Bluetooth off and on, then switch the stereo to AM radio then back to Bluetooth and it behaved properly.
I was using Waze which keeps the screen on and things were fine until I got off the freeway and shut down Waze. The screen shut off after a minute as normal, but when I double-tapped the screen to wake the display up, the audio dropped from the stereo and started playing from the phone. Hmmmm. I unpaired Sync and deleted the OPO from the car's side and I re-paired the phone.
It seemed OK until my drive home just now when once again, tapping the screen to wake it up cause the audio to drop back to the speaker. Since I don't use nav apps all the time, this is clearly an unacceptable bug that makes me wonder HTF they're beta-testing. It's nice that the GPS doesn't seem totally broken and the touchscreen goofiness is gone, but being unable to maintain Bluetooth connectivity for media is a huge gaffe.
Ok, I'm still trying to figure out what is going on here. I restored my TWRP backup from 33R and I had two bluetooth crashes on the way home today. Could there be a firmware update that is causing this that would not have been rolled back as part of the restore? I've read online that there is no new radio in 38R? Is there something else causing it?
I ran the full 33r factory image and it fixed the Bluetooth issues. I ran that way for a couple of days and had no BT problems even on a 2+ hour drive. I did a clean 33r to 38r OTA and within the first 30 minutes in the car had a BT freeze and disconnect. Its pretty clear, at least with my device, that there is something wrong with the BT stack on 38r.
I have little different but seems to related with BT.
When BT is enabled, my wifi performance drops significantly. I tried to remove all paired devices and reset BT config, but nothing really fixed the issue. I need to turn off BT completely, if my wifi speed goes down. I'm running 38R. I don't think I noticed any issue on 33R.

I'm having this exact same issue since upgrading to 38r. Bluetooth audio works fine until screen goes off and I turn it on again. Then audio comes out of the phone, but Bluetooth icon is still lit up and otherwise still connected to the car. VERY annoying.

Yeah... Right now when I get into the car, audio plays though the speaker (despite bluetooth connection) unless I open Play Music specifically. Somehow that does something that also fixes other apps (Slacker, book readers, etc).

I'm on 44S, and have a similar issue. Had the issue since 38R though. Bluetooth stays connected to my car fine if I'm not using the OPO or if I'm just streaming music. But in phone calls, it drops the bluetooth all the time. Really really annoying.

I'm having same problem. Disconnects but just on calls and this happens with my BT headset. This doesn't actually happen on my stock Nexus 5. I'm thinking CM must be using different BT drivers? It's been the same on 33 and 44. I'm betting it carries to 5.0. If I don't find a workaround I may be forced to go to a different ROM. Just have no idea which one may be unaffected?
any fix for this?
Hi all. So I'm having an issue with my S6 running cleanrom lite. My bluetooth audio skips when playing on any BT speaker. The skip is similar to a cd skipping and is not the volume just lowering for another app. BT audio used to work flawlessly, here is what I have done so far. And This issue exists with multiple BT speakers, with multiple music apps, local music with default music app, spotify, spotify in offline mode, Amazon music.
1. Reboot phone
2. Toggle bluetooth
3. Unpair car BT device from phone
4. Delete phone pair from car BT headunit
5. Rollback any app updates
6. Unselected "Use Nuplayer" in development options. Then rebooted
7. Took a logcat. Everytime BT audio skips I get an event like this
"08-26 17:34:18.501 E/bt-btif (6930): btif_get_num_aa_frame() - Limiting frames to be sent from 43 to 10"
Anyone have any ideas as to anything else I can try? Or what could be causing this?

That is exactly what plagues me since upgrading my i9100G to Lollipop with Omnirom 5 - Has anyone tracked it down already and knows a fix? Interestingly first time after boot bluetooth streaming works fine for me. Rebooting all the time is of course not good....
