Ready to do some Friday afternoon tinkering? How does the new Gmail 4.2 sound? New Gmail is v4.2, which includes pinch-to-zoom in emails along with a new swipe-to-delete/archive feature. They may sound like small improvements, but they are all things that you will quickly realize that you can no longer live without.
So in order to use this, you have to have root, because you are going to be moving around some system level files. You can try to do this all in adb, but I am still not even sure that that is possible. If you are brave enough to dive into this, let’s do it. It should take all of 5 minutes.
DOWNLOADS : GMAIL2.APK [MIRROR]
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the Gmail2.apk from above and place it on your internal storage.
2. Create a nandroid backup, just to be safe.
3. Once your phone has rebooted, delete or move any Gmail.apk on your device.
*You’ll need to look in /system/app for Gmail.apk and /data/app for com.google.android.gm-1.apk.
4. Once moved/deleted, you should reboot your phone.
5. Once rebooted, you can try simply installing Gmail2.apk on your phone.
6. If that doesn’t work, put the file in your SDK/Platform-Tools folder and type this in adb:
adb install Gmail2.apk
7. You should now have the new Gmail 4.2 up and running.
*Note – Depending on the ROM, there may be Gmail .odex files that will need to be deleted as well.

Confirm to work like a charm on my gtp6800

[MODDED APPS] CyanKnight [CM9 Flavor]

Hey Guys!
I modded 3 stock apps of CM9 for our beautiful Sensation to match the overall look and feel of the rom. I will continue with doing so if it is requested.
The idea behind this was that I was really thankful that CM9 made its way to the pyramid but I allways was annoyed that some apps just destroy the design. Therefore I was searching for a solution and found: Virtuous Quattro. Nice. Blue. But not everything. So I sat down and made it myself.
So this is basically what CM9 stock looks like. Green SMS/MMS and red and yellow. Thi allw doesnt quite match CM9 I think.

And my fairly small modded apps make it a nice look and feel (at least thats what i think).
What do you need?:
1.) a rooted CM9
2.) the adb from here
3.) some common sense
How to install:
1.) Download the appropriate app and place it in a folder of your choice (prefered are easy to find ones)

3.) cd to the directory of your adb and apk files
4.) type (e.g. for Mms.apk)
Code:
adb root
adb remount
adb push Mms.apk /system/app

[TUTORIAL]How to install Play Store on CM11!

So, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 running a CM11 Android 4.4.4 Nightly, and I got errors while attempting to install the Gapps package.
And, I didn't even want Gapps! I only wanted Play Store, like many of you reading this. So, this was what I did.
1) Download the zip file below. All of the apk files were taken from the latest PA-Gapps package for 4.4.4 .
2)Extract the files to your device, put them on some folder.
3)Use a root explorer (like CM File Manager, which comes with CyanogenMod), and copy the 4 apk files to /system/priv-app
4)Now set the permissions. (You can do it via the terminal, set the permissions to 644, but this is easier). All files must be set like this.

5)Finally, reboot. Open Play Store. Ta-da

Doesn't work for me. For some reason, I haven't been able to flash ANY Gapps.
That's weird
