boot loop after font installer app - Asus Transformer TF700

please help, someone.
I'm stuck in a boot loop after using font installer. I have rooted JB.
Just took back a tablet today to best buy for same thing. I thought tablet was bad. Apparently, it's "font installer" app. Used it before on rooted ICS, no problem. Now, my 14 hour old infinity is looping. Please help.
Soft brick recover method might be working this time, but the "Font Installer" app is causing a lot of problems. Probably best to stay away from it.

Hey Friend,
I am Master Ramy, part of the Support Team for Jrummy Apps Inc, the company behind Rom Toolbox Pro and Font Installer.
What font did you attempt to install?
If your font changes are causing bootloops, chances are that you are overwriting the wrong fonts. Please open the Font Installer and click Menu > Preferences > Select Fonts.
If you’re running Android 4.0 ICS, or 4.1 Jellybean, make sure Roboto-regular.ttf is selected
If you’re running Android 3.X or earlier, make sure DroidSans.ttf is selected
If you’re running MIUI, make sure Arial.ttf is selected
Before attempting any customization, we recommend that users have a recent nandroid backup in case anything goes wrong. There are always ways to fix these issues, there should be no need to return your device.
Finally, I strongly encourage you to contact us with any questions or when you run into any problems, so that we can help you out Feel free to post our responses to the XDA community if needed.
Thanks!

Wrong permission
I had the similar issue when I tried to RESTORE fonts with "Font Installer". It seems that font installer was not setting proper permissions of font files after restore.
I connected my device in recovery mode and chown'ed the font files back to root:root (instead of system:sdcard_r) through shell and it solved the issue.

[ROM]SparksMod-1.1.2 Apps2Ext+LauncherPro - Dream/Sapphire[32b] (09/12/10)

Update: There seems to be a popular slang term "cook" going around on this thread as well as pm's. If you are having a issue because you didn't read the OP, I will not take the problem seriously. All I will tell you is wipe and reflash! Call me whatever you will, but I DO NOT USE KITCHENS. Things I do use:
1. My brain
2. My computer
3. Autosign script
4. XDA obviously
That's it!
New things added and removed, check the changelog below. If you have a g1, please rate and comment on my g1 thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7656698#post7656698. This way I know what devices are having issues. So far no major issues have been reported, and I would like to keep it that way.
After flashin the rom and gapps, Set your phone up the way you want it. If you want to use Compcache instead of swapper2, then select "deny" when prompted from superuser. Also if you want to remove Swapper2 completely with adb:
adb devices
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app
rm Swapper2.apk
It should be gone instantly. This app is only 82.4kb large in size, so if you think you are going to be saving a lot of space on your phone, then you will be dissapointed. If you just can't stand it being in your app drawer you can also remove apps with titanium backup for free on the market, or Astro file manager (also free on the market).
If you want Swap instead of compache, you will need to select "allow" when prompted. You will need to disable Compcache in CM Settings and reboot.
Once you boot up open the swapper2 app and set it up the way you want. I have mine set to 32mb for the size, and 20 swappiness for my swap file, but I may go back to using compcache. Also select safe unmount for mounting sdcard so that your swap is safely unmounted before your sdcard mounts. Once you unmount your sdcard, you can go to swapper and select the on button to enable it again.
Then go to CM Settings > application settings, and select "Allow application moving". Don't change the install location. That's it, now your all ready to install as many apps as you want to your ext partition. It seems that people are having good luck with flashing from v1.1.1-v1.1.2 with no wipe at all. This is a good sign that my no wipe options is working for now, we will see with future updates, but I'm confident that no wipe should be necessary at all from here on out.
You will need to flash the new gapps 20100912 If you want things like chrome2phone. You also need to install the chrome to phone extension on your chrome browser here: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/oadboiipflhobonjjffjbfekfjcgkhco
Thank you Cyanogenmod, Firerat, ChromerSmith, Dumfuq, and anyone else I'm forgetting for making this all possible. If you like our work, buy us a beer.
Requirements: This rom supports G1/Dream/Magic/Sapphire [32b] devices only. You need the Danger SPL. If you want apps2ext partition then you need a ext3 or ext4 partition on your sdcard. I am not responsible for broken phones or sdcards!
Changelog
1.1.2
-Removed ADW and added LauncherPro, seems to run better!
-Added Chrome2Phone to gapps (You must download the new gapps if you want this)
-Added Swapper2 to rom for people who want swap instead of compcache.
-Added CMTheme folder, and LauncherPro Backup folder. If you wish to use these, you must extract the zip files to the root of your sdcard. For LauncherPro just restore settings in the settings for LauncherPro.

-Added Black Keyboard
v0.1 from latest nightly 081310:
-Removed Rom Manager to save on space, download it from the market
-Added HTC ADWLauncher
-Added VatSense 1.6.1 Framework
-Added 15 wallpapers
-Added Blurred Vision 2 boot animation
I am open to feedback on any changes or ideas anyone has for future improvements.
Instructions:
Full wipe required if coming from anything other than SparksMod-1.1.1 I can not guarantee that the no wipe thing will stick. These roms are changing constantly since they are still in the development stage, or at least until Cyanogenmod is completed with cm6 development for the dream/sapphire.
Apps2ext partition is now automatic. Make sure after first boot, go to CM Settings > application settings, and select "Allow application moving". Don't select a different install location. That's it, feel free to install as many apps as you want worry free from reboots to move apps, slow boot times, or running terminal commands to move the apps to ext when you get low on space.
You will need to change the clock color and date color as with any blackbar mod in CM Settings, or use the xml folder from my downloads folder. Extract the contents of the zip file to the root of your sdcard, then restore theme as usual in CM Settings.
LauncherPro Settings: Instead of listing my current settings, feel free to download and use the LauncherPro backup settings from my downloads folder. Extract the contents of the zip file to the root of your sdcard, then restore settings in LauncherPro.
I recommend downloading or installing SetCpu so you can control the speeds if you are using the overclock kernel to see what works good for you as far as battery life and speed combined. I set mine at 596mhz and it's still fast without too much battery drain.
-Spare Parts settings: Set transitions windows and animations to fast
-Set CM Settings > Performance to "disable surface dithering", "lock home in memory", enable "JIT".

My father just installed this on his phone and is very happy with it. THANKS!
Ok. Been using this Rom for a couple days. So far everything is smooth and fast. Did a no wipe upgrade to the oc'd version second day. Had one time that a reboot deleted my apps and one force close when I went to settings>sound (settings force close). May have to do with no wipe upgrade? Battery drain is normal for froyo. That's it so far.
Going to nandroid back to standard version since I will never go over 576 anyway.
Everything is super fast and responsive. Very stable so far. Best screen rotation time on froyo. Liking the launcher pro as well. Thank you for the cm ui and LP settings zips btw.
Mt3g. No swap. CC enabled. Set CPU at 245/576. Everything else set up normal.
Great job. Keep it coming. Thanks for your hard work.

you can remove it via terminal emulator
su (enter)
mount -o rw,remount /system (enter)
rm -r /system/app/appname.apk. this way you can remove any app that is in the system. good luck.

If I'm right if you have the new launcher.apk in your sdcard then after you do this you can copy the new one to its spot from your sdcard.
cp /sdcard/appname.apk /system/app (enter)
reboot (enter)
Let it reboot and you should have the old removed and replaced with the new.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

[Q] kobo vox: install google market?

hey all,
first post, apologies if this might be in the wrong place.
i've just picked up the kobo vox, and it's awesome, but i can't figure out how to get the android market running. i've got the apk installed, but the device doesn't give me the option to add a google account. the kobo vox explicitly says it supports the android marketplace, so i'm hoping i'm doing something wrong.
thanks!
I'm in the same state. I've looked about and managed to use some of Cyanogen's packages to install a few core stuff like the framework and the market app itself, but trying to run the Market asks me to register a Google account, which always fails saying there was a connection issue. On a further reboot android.process.acore decided to crash every five seconds and I had to reset the device to factory settings.
This kinda sucks because the device is fairly solid, but the default "market" is a joke. I'm already annoyed by the fairly large amount of preinstalled apps (which can't be uninstalled, as usual), but not having proper Market access would probably be a deal killer.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
What about Rooting?
I have run into the same problem. I think that before you can install the full android market we will have to Root the tablet. Has anyone tried the Gingerbreak.apk? Or is there some other way to Root the tablet?

I've tried GingerBreak on my Kobo Vox and it seems to have installed, however I'm not certain the SU access is working properly. When I try repairing permissions in ROM Manager, I get the message "An Error occured trying to run priviledged commands!". It also fails when I try to backup my ROM.
This is honestly the first Android device I've ever owned so I'm not certain that I'm doing everything correctly. I did make sure to allow SuperUser permissions to ROM Manager, but I'm still getting errors. Any help from a Veteran Android user would be appreciated.
Can't get past the Android Login
After rooting and installing Busybox I was able to install the Android Market but every time I try to login the app will not connect to the Market to confirm my ID, it seems to time out. Any Ideas on what I can try?
Turns out my inability to repair permissions was simply due to me not having busybox installed. I can attest that GingerBreak does successfully root the tablet.
I'm hoping I can find a way to install Clockwordmod recovery in order to install the google apps from CM7. I tried simply copying the files into place without success.
So, did you manage to install busybox? What version and where?
Tell me if you manage to install the recovery, the vox don't seem to have one by default.
If we manage to install all the google app and the googleframeworkservice, that would make the tablet a lot better and give the possibility to install the android market.
I was able to install busybox 4.3 /system/xbin. I do not know about a recovery mode but I did manage to put the tablet into "Safe Mode" after it do stock in a loop at bootup but I am not sure how I did it. According to user help you can not update the firmware from the SDcard.
Have you tried to install Clockwordmod?
I managed to install the googleserviceframework, but I need to install some other thing that don't want to install.
I also manage to install youtube (the real one) and it work great, I just can't sign in...
In the accounts & sync settings section, I can create a google account, but It can't communicate with the google server to set up the account, it give me the error:
"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server."
It's probably cause by some app that I didn't manage to install yet, like "onetimeinitializer", "googlepartnersetup" and some other...
I've managed to install Busybox, but have yet been unsuccessful installing the Google Framework.
I was able to install the Clockwordmod, but I have yet to find a phone or tablet on it's list that is compatible with the Kobo Vox. I'm going to do my research to see if any phones or tablets have similar specs to the Vox and see if that will work. So far I've just been picking at random and trying it.
Try the B & N Nook Color - same CPU, Memory & screen size.
That was my first thought. Unfortunately no luck. With a couple of them I can seem to get them start loading as if they're going into an update but it always errors out. I'm now just systematically going through the list and driving every version.
If you attempt to install a version of Clockwork made for another device, you'll brick it.
Don't forget that after dropping in the files to the various system directories, you also have to set permit permissions properly.
Also, would be good to request a Kobo Vox forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301121
If anyone in this thread is actually a developer who knows how to compile and so forth, Koush has a brief guide to porting Clockwork:
http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/10/porting-clockwork-recovery-to-new.html
Manual Configuration is a must have option. Thanks
wow, pretty lame that the android market seems not to be supported despite it being touted as an official feature
on a side note, has anyone figured out how to change or remove that default dock (without rooting)? it's kind of a pain in the ass.
I've installed a couple dozen different clockwork of recoveries so far and haven't bricked it yet but maybe I should quit while I'm ahead. I'd rather not brick my shiny new Kobo.
Need Kernal Version & Build Number
I have to return my Kobo Vox because the speaker is not working. Under Privacy Settings I have done a Factory Data Reset but I am still showing the Super Icon. Does anyone have a copy of the original firmware or know how to unroot the device?

Official marketing material says apps but doesn't say Android Market. Some media outlets misquoted and wrote Market falsely.

Factory Reset just clears the data partition but doesn't reset the system partition.
Until someone properly compiles a custom recovery or finds a stock reset file, there's no safe way back.

4.2 Keyboard and camera

http://m.pocketnow.com/2012/10/30/android-4-2-stock-keyboard-now-available-for-download-unofficially
After installing go to languages and input and check Android Key board
Hope it will be useful.
Download and Install
Now, getting it on your device is going to be easy for some of you, and less easy for others. You'll need to be on Android 4.0+, to start.
If you're on a phone with a UI overlay that has the stock keyboard disabled (eg, Samsung TouchWiz, HTC Sense, Sony), you can just download the apk below- no root required. To install, make sure you have "install from unknown sources" enabled in your phone settings, and after installation, go into your phone's keyboard settings and enable "Android keyboard." Then, you can switch to the new keyboard. This may also work on some "stock" Android custom ROMs - but it will not work on stock Android builds distributed by Google.
Get the apk here: http://d-h.st/XuS
If the apk doesn't work, you're running a phone that is either A.) running stock Android (as in, AOSP), or B.) running software that has the stock Android keyboard as an option, you'll need to download this ZIP file, and flash it in recovery. That also means you're going to need root. as you'll be writing to /system/apps. Before you do, though, either back up the stock keyboard (if you don't know how, you probably shouldn't be doing this) or create a full image backup, just in case. Here's that ZIP file:
Get the zip here: http://d-h.st/36D

Issue with TWRP and Root

since upgrading firmware from b3++ to b571 i am facing this issues
1. google translate cannot instal the downloaded language.
2. root and unroot still left leftovers which hindering some of the apk wont run even with rootcloak
3. full twrp still leave missing symlink
so i have been experimenting what are the cause, twrp or rooting
1. google translate the issue is twrp ( not sure why) even if i restore to stock bootloader, translate will not be able to install the language file.
2. rooting and unrooting will still left traces which the apk still able to trace some of the su file. rootcloack wont work with some of the apk
so the only solution is to restore the whole firmware from scratch.
my question, is anyone manage to reslove this? . i want to root and restore few things like the data/network at status bar and hide/unhide the navigation bar. the unroot back cause i need some apk that don like root like banking apk
For what it is worth; I flashed the recovery backup over 51 and did a factory reset and flashed supersu for root.
- I used translate a week ago and was able to download language package
- I am able to watch TV with an app which is denied on rooted devices, maybe you could try adjusting some supersu boot settings as it works fine for me
- Data/network settings are stored in the Google cloud and auto restored?
- I use Nova launcher which allows navigationbar hiding. I bet it should be easy to enable.
Since restoring apps is not much a deal as you can choose all apps you want to restore in Appstore by using longpressing an owned app in your person overview.
The only downside may be needing to reconfigure some apps but I suppose you could restore those be need.
Which TWRP have you installed?

Bad theme from playstore wrecked my phone. Help!

Hi,
After installing and applying one theme from play store my honor 6x, emui 4.0 the theme app, dialer, files app and settings app keep crashing and unable to open. I'm not being able to revert back to any of the default themes. Please let me know if there's any other way to revert back to any themes i have from pre installed.
I had deleted the theme from the theme folder by using es file explorer and restarted the device but still it's not changing and helping me out.
Since factory settings comes under settings app I'm not being able to utilize this method as well.
Thanx in advance.
Maybe do a hard reset
