Do a factory reset and clear cache. If this doesnot solve the problem flash xxkpe twice and then flash any other 2.3.6 firmware xxkpq or ddkp2
Next time ask your questions in general q and a thread
got new galaxy i9003 on replacement.....
ddkp2/ext4/cwm 5
now factory reset giving error:
E: format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10
heeeeeeelppppppppppp
Don't panic like a child. Anyway simply flash xxkpe first & then xxkpq rom. It will 100% solve ur problem.
FROM NEXT TIME POST UR PROBLEMS IN GENERAL SECTION.
I already did that and waiting for the results,
Its not a matter of panic I was going to sell the device today and what a luck!
Thanks.
Same thing happened to me. I thing internal memory is broken. Tried anything but it gets worse everyday. Try to see if you notice any message before it restarts itself. Mine had some notification like 'internal memory corrupted' or something like that. I flashed an official rom and took it to a samsung service center but havent heard anything in 25 days. They told me i have to wait for a month :'(

buddy even if u become panic it will not solve ur problem. So its better to stay cool. Anyway I just found same problem in Q and Q thread. So after studying that thread I can clearly tell u that just go to samsung centre. Its completely a hardware problem. We can't do anything in that

No man, I took your advice and didn't panic, after spending FIVE years as a mobile software developer and technical support I wont make it go the the service center!, I'll try to fix it for couple days since its already a holiday then if its not fixed i'll burn it because its very cold right here
As u wish buddy. But my personal opinion is go to service center if it is within warranty.

Its not under warranty, I bought it from another country, the local dealer barely accepts local-sold phones
On XXKPQ there was no hard-reset but still randomly rebooting? I think its a hardware memory problem,Thanks all.
A lot of us have been facing this problem recently (including me) and that too all of a sudden! If you're right then it may have something to do with faulty internal memory or something. Quite unusual as the phone works perfectly fine during usage and all months prior! Guess all the flashing is to be blamed!
Guys,
The problem is almost solved with me, when I'm sure about that I'll create a thread for that,
Thanks for all who participated in this issue, and specially for CollieDawg for his nice scenarios

Facing the same problem
Tried flashing GalaxySL_I9003DDKP2_INU from androidadvices.com.
Seeing that the phone keeps restarting itself and then all contacts, messages, etc, etc. gets lost.
My phone is still under warranty.
I think I should just go and give it to the service center. But if you find a solution, please do let me know. Will be very thankful.

I was planning to share when im sure, I have just installed TWLauncher4.5 and no restarts happened,
The problem is of two parts:
1. Random restarts.
2. Restart with data erase.
The launcher solved the first problem for one day till now, but the the second problem wasn't happening to me on XXKPQ,
I'll confirm soon.
Here is the link for the TWLauncher4.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061883
UPDATE:
I was getting hard reset on Arabic JPKPE 2.3.6,
NOW:
Im on DeOdexed XXKPQ with UC kernel V07 with OC, flashed twice after XXKPE, no hard-reset but only random restarts.
The TWLauncher didnt solve the random restarts it only solved hard reset with me.
TWLauncher did not stop the problem
Hi,
I tried installing the TW Launcher 4.5 as you had told. But I am still getting the problem of restarting. Any other fix u tired?

[Q] Nexus GTI9023 issue need help

hi guys,
i have a nexus gt-I9023.
i connected my phone to my laptop to copy some files and something happened and my phone started restarting itself.
i even tried to do a factory reset and it seems to be going through the same issue even after a factory reset.
is this a hardware issue or can i get rid of it by installing a new rom.
also i am a novice users when it comes to resetting roms, would appreciate if someone could give me a step by step instructions on it.
You should try change your kernel.. if you use overclock also, disable it.. changing rom is not bad idea.. making a full wipe might help also not just factory reset..
i am a newbie at this can you please help me do a full wipe .. ?? i am not interested in putting in a new rom .. just want to restore my phone to the factory defaults... i am not that worried about the data ... i have it backed up in my google account.
nexus s same problem
hi,
i am experiencing exactly the same problem on my nexus s, kindly guide me to the full wipe process
i have done a full wipe as well .. using hard reset method ... and still the phone is not working properly ... would appreciate some help here...

I started writing a some posible ways to fix and i realised that if you are pure stock you can go to your carrier and get it fixed.. (they will probably replace the motherboard)
I had a similar problem that started like 1,5 years after i bought the phone. Random restarts when i connected it and problem loading the phone now and then.
I cleaned the usb-port from some dirt and it started working again.
Very strange but it worked for me

I wiped my cache partition from recovery, but still got that message.
i don't know how to solve this...
i will try to flash again the rom on the phone...
Same problem...all goes well, untill I install the S3 ported Camera for odex/deodexed roms. It doesn't delelte the old app, it just crashes when you open it. I I deleted now the odex files from System, but i receive the same message. I'm starting to get bored of trying to get rid of it )
Can someone help me?
Hello! I'm back with some news. I got the "Android is upgrading" message because I was Odexed. The app that was doing this was the Ported Galaxy S3 camera.
After I got my rom Deodexed, I've got rid of that message.
I hope this message will help someone, someday.
I solved using "lucky patcher". Odexed the system ... cleaned... and the cleared dalvik cache.

Hard Reset doesn't work/deleted apps are restored after reboot

Hello everyone,
I just joined this forum and i need some help.
I've got a very wierd problem with my samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0
Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 GT-P3110 model.
Android: ver. 4.1.2
So the story behind my tablet is that my dad bought it when he working in another country, when he came back he told me that he had a broken galaxy tab 2 and he asked me to try to fix it,the problem he reported was that the tablet sometimes restarts, alot of programs have crashes and the wierdest thing is that, when I turn it off and then turn on the device (or simply restart it) the system is restored to some earlier state, this includes:
1. Apps I've deleted are still installed.
2. Widgets or app shortcuts on 'home' pages are still on their old place though I've rearranged them.
3. Same with wallpapers.
4. Same with settings.
So i tried the following:
1. Factory reset + cache clean. Even though it is supposed to be a full system wipe, it doesn't work.
2. Reinstalling a Stock ROM via ODIN. Doesn't work either and it takes about an hour to do...it says it was successful but it doesn't change anything in the tablet.
Also there is a notice in android recovery, which states:
did not match sized '/system/csc/common/system/csc/feature.xml' (no data available)
This device wasn't rooted.
So i you would ask you guys for some help, thanks.

My line of thought is that if you do root it, you can format the system partition which would more than likely fix this issue. But like I said, more than likely, there's no guarantee because it might be a hardware issue. Have you considered sending it in for repair? Since it's not rooted they would do it. If you don't care to send it in and are just trying stuff to see if you can get it working again, then rooting it wouldn't hurt anything. But that's your choice.

OK, so here's where just rooting won't help. You have two options: 1) Find the stock ROM at Samsung and have it on your SD card. Or 2) choose another ROM. Whichever you choose is up to you. You're going to have to format your system in the custom recovery, by doing this your tab is wiped of all info including the stock ROM. If you format system you won't be able to boot into your tab without flashing another ROM after. If I'm repeating stuff you know, I apologize. You'll need the ROM you choose on your external sd card, because you'll want to completely format everything (except your ext sd). If you know all this, try it out and see if it helps. If you want to learn more and the steps, PM me, I'll help as much as I can!

Hi, i'm facing the same issue here. Then I've try to root the phone but failed. Can help me too Sir?
For now it can't repaired, It,s known as emmc brickbug, find the xda forum thru Playstore emmc brickbug check. In Indonesia there is website that claim can repair it by replacing the emmc chip/internal memory, but it's not proven yet, since no body in our Galaxy Tab 2 facebook group has confirmed it. More than 15 people in the group has reported this bug, and the only way to fix it is by replacing the mainboard in Samsung Service Center. I also have replaced my wife Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 mainboard with the same case. In Indonesia the cost is about US$100
