Just picked up the "housing" for the G2X, since mine is jacked from the battery cover all the way to the outside brushed bezel. I've seen the screen cover with digitizer, then I've seen this part here, which is what I picked up from Ebay.
Does the digitizer separate from this piece? or what is going on?

The housing and the digitizer is al separate, just do a youtube search for g2x digitizer replacement, and it'll show you how to take it apart.

So basically I have to melt off the existing glue and swap out the casing and reuse my digitizer....that's what I thought. thanks.
My screen just kind of separated pretty easily from the digitizer.

I'm assuming you mean drilling a hole somewhere in the front of the phone and buying a camera?

Tape a digital camera to the front, wont even notice it after a while.

Easiest way to get a front camera on an inspire is to buy a Desire HD.
wow. well all i can say is LOL and in before close!
Attach a mirror that reflects the camera from the back of the phone to show what is infront of the phone. This works great.
lol dig the pocket mirror idea lmao

Maybe this will help...
Go on YouTube, type in xda, click on the 4th video. That's what I used.

to be honest, i have not seen those parts, seperately, it might be better for you to buy the back case and just take parts of if the casing that you see is not good quality or is you originally had a beats housing but the one you bought is not...

Just buy a plain backing. Looks like you have the stock back. You can buy them on amazon or ebay. The beats logo one is expensive. And don't worry about the antennaes in the back. Mine works with 3 and I am on tmous.
I Already got an additional back housing but i made little changes to one of them (left one)
and i would like to be able to use both....
...or did I not notice it before.

ICK!
That looks nasty, if you didn't damage then I would return it ASAP.
If you try to bend it back it will probably break.

Yea, I have been using kid gloves with this thing so I know it wasn't from me. Guess I'll be calling the store to get a replacement, just wanted to make sure it wasn't supposed to be like that.

A video review has shown the issue a few days ago. He said he could bend it back and everything was fine. But I would definitely send it back.
Stupid question but I like the dot view case but I like the metal finish better. Do you think if I were to cut the back of the case off leaving the binding on and just tape the binding to the back. Thus only having the front of the case leaving the back empty.
Do you think that could work?
I'm debating weather to risk doing that on my $30 case.
There is a little tab in the middle that has a piece of metal in it to help the case snap back onto the screen. You would have to use that tab to your advantage to glue that to your phone to prevent any sliding. Remember, the dot view case has to be on perfect for it to work. Just wait it out. Someone will make a clear back version of it and sell it on Amazon or eBay.
The guy at my Vzw store stole the display model case and the back is all cut up for the security sensor thingie. It works fine.
So yes.

Stupid question indeed
Maybe this been covered before but I just got new back cover from Neo version for my S5. Feels much nicer and looks better that original. It's soft touch, similar to nexus 5. Here are some pics in case anyone was curious.

I just put self healing cover from xtremeguard on mine less then dollar shipped if you sign up for email deal or what ever. Normal get 90%off. It keeps the phone nice plus it get a softer feel. Actually it the the company i use for screen protectors too. H9 glass and self healing on front then self healing on back. You have to custom cut some of the self healing to use some cases though. It is only on the parts that are not part of the actual screen so who cares if it's slightly scratched.
