Received my Case-Mate Barely There case in the mail today. Ordered it on Sunday from here: http://www.foryourcell.com/motorola-razr-m-case-mate-barely-there-case-black.html. I got it on sale for $20.99 but the price has gone up a few bucks since then apparently.
Anyways, lots of pictures attached at the bottom of the post. Case fits perfectly; there's no give or wiggle at all. Finish is a rubbery, matte black. Not the most grippy surface in the world, but neither is it the most slick. Seems to protect all of the corners at least to some extent, as can be seen in the pictures. Also, there is a slight lip to it, so if you put your phone screen-down on a table, the screen will not actually be touching the table. Single most noticeable feature is that even though it is labeled as a "RAZR M" case, it actually has a cutout for the dedicated camera button of the RAZR i, so it's actually more of a RAZR i case than it is a RAZR M case, but it should fit the M just as perfectly as it fits the i.
Seems like a sturdy and well-built case. I don't really have anything else to say about it unless anybody has questions. Frankly, for $20.99, I think pretty much any case is a ripoff. I'd rather get a Diztronic TPU case for $9 and call it a day, but unfortunately Diztronic isn't making anything for the RAZR i or M.
Fire away with questions and I'll try to answer. I imagine the pictures speak for themselves though.
Edit: Oh, and one last thing. The Case-Mate retail box is actually labeled "RAZR HD." But clearly, the case was made for the M or the i, so no worries.
Edit #2: Oh, and despite being called a "Barely There" case, it certainly is more than "Barely There." You can get a sense from the pictures how thick it is, and it's pretty thin, but it definitely adds some noticeable girth and texture to the device. It's still very much sleek and svelte even with the case on, but to say it's "Barely There" is a bit of an exaggeration. I've never owned a Barely There case before, and I imagine this one is probably the same as all the others, so if you've ever used one before you probably know about what it's like.
Nice review. Do you think it will work well with screen protectors?
its just slightly thinner than the verizon gloss black case i got for like $17...this doesnt cover the top edge and the bottom edge so it save some thickness there (just by looking at the pics) but i sort of like covering those areas...trying to keep this puppy in shape so can sell off next year

I know it will work well with screen protectors - I have one on my phone in those pics The case does not touch any part of the screen at all.

Do you have both the Verizon glossy case and the case-mate? Or are you just guessing based on my pics that the case mate is thinner than the Verizon glossy case?

just guessing based on the pics.
Screen Recessed?
Doesn't seem like the screen gets recessed much if at all, do you think it gives appropriate protection if placed or maybe dropped faced down?
Thanks for the info.
this case is now 18.82$ on amazon, thx for the info and pics, ordered one and will give it a try.
Barely there or Incipio Feather
Thnaks for the review.
I also want to get a case for my Motorola Razr I, but I don't know wich one.
I'm also interestet in the Incipio Feather Case for Motorola Droid RAZR M.
amazon: Incipio-MT-206-Feather-Motorola-Droid/dp/B009YN8BCS
But which one is better the Barely there case or the Incipio Feather?
Anyone who had both (to test)?
Just got this case, doesn't recess evenly as the entire left side sticks out a bit

Update: shipping a replacement but it's white or pink, went with white hopefully it's not horrendous
I just Buy in Ebay one very similar to the Barely There one, is almost perfect, the only thing is that the cutout for the power and VOL buttons are not perfect in a 100%, so the edge of the case is too tight to the button. I pay $2 bucks
The replacement for the faulty first unit finally arrived.
It fits well - much less obtrusive than the cheapo climo S wave case I had before.
Didn't have an option of colours with the replacement, which was a shame since it was a manufacturing fault I needed rectified by getting a new unit.
Will wait and see if I find the white distracting, for now it makes my phone much easier to find, and my nail no longer catches the metal screen bezel when swiping for LMT Pie from the side.
Bad cover. I bought 2 for the 2 devices (16$ each) we have and it doesn't fit at all. On one side it tries to come out. I bought then on eBay a 3$ rubber cover and it's perfect.
Don't buy it.

Yup the first one didn't fit, but they responded and organised a replacement straight away which once it arrives fits better and feels better than my cheap one.

Alright. So, impressions first.
I've used Seidio Active cases on all of my phones since my original Incredible (quite a few devices). I love them. It was a no-brainer to get one for my One X. I hadn't ever used one of the kickstand models, so this is a first for me.
First off, the case is great. Very well designed, feels really really good in the hand. It gives the physical buttons (power, volume) a better feeling, makes them easier to use. I know some people had issues with the power button being a little too recessed, so this should remedy the issue a little.
It looks great. I got the glossed white, and I have to say, if you got the white One X, this is definitely the way to go. Really accentuates the overall look of the device, matches nicely.
The case should definitely prevent a lot of damage from drops. The silicon layer allows you to put it down face first without it resting on the screen, and the hard shell gives it good protection on the edges and corners. It also lifts the phone off of the camera lens.
The kickstand. This is kind of meh, to be honest. It is advertised as a metal kickstand, but honestly it feels pretty flimsy. It does support the phone on its side, but you cannot set it up vertically (like you can with the Thunderbolt). I've honestly not used the kickstand much. I don't use my phone for watching stuff very often, and even less often do I need to rest it that way. It can't be charged while the kickstand is out since the charging port is covered.
Another gripe about the kickstand is that it puts a little bulge on the back of the case. You can't really tell on the site, but it juts out a little. Kind of awkward, kind of throws off the minimal look to it. Not a huge deal though. I did contact Seidio and they said they have no plans to develop the Active case without a kickstand for the One X. So it is what it is.
Overall, it is a great case. If you are looking for solid protection with minimal bulk, this is definitely for you. I was actually really surprised how thin the device stays with the case on. Thanks to the hard shell the case doesn't make it difficult to pocket, since the silicon layer isn't what contacts the inside of the pocket (if that is an issue for you).
I'd definitely say it is worth it. Some will love and use the kickstand probably, others will likely be indifferent. I could live without it. But you can't beat the look or the feel, or the peace of mind it brings. Recommended!
Pictures! Apologies for...the space sheets. And the various books on psychology. The general cleanliness of the background. Haha.
Okay, it won't let me upload them to here. Too big I guess. Idk. Here's a link to my public Dropbox folder with the pictures in it.

looks nice
tad thick for my taste but nice none the less
Hmm... I really like the Kickstand. I purchased the platinum version of the seidio surface case from best buy and it lacks the kickstand. Will probably return it and get the surface case with the kickstand instead. All in all, Thanks for the Pics!
I have really been considering this case. It seems really nice. The only thing that has me not wanting a case on this phone is I'm worried it will detract from the ergonomics of the screen. The lip around the screen looks like it will make it more difficult to use the edges of the screen.

I got both this one and the Surface case at the same time so I could compare them. I have to say that I absolutely love the Surface case, but was not a fan of the active with kickstand. The Active has that awkward bulge in the back where the kickstand is, and I just didn't like the look and fit on the phone. The Surface, in my opinion, is just about perfect. It fits great over my Zagg screen protector, and it is very minimalistic and i think it actually helps maintain the phone's natural good looks! If you haven't tried the Surface case, give it a try! ( There's a thread on here somewhere with pictures of the Surface case... I'll try to find it and post a link.)

I get the surface cases for every phone I buy. I have to have a clip and the surface case is the best option for me. It doesn't add a lot of bulk but still feels protected. I was glad that Best Buy got the platinum case in for the HOX really quick. Identical to the surface case but 10 bucks cheaper.

Review of Active w/ kickstand
I've had my Active w/ kickstand for a couple of days. I really like the case. I got the blue version. The blue is darker and has a slight metallic tint. I think it looks better than the pictures seidio has posted online. The rubber skin makes the buttons easier to press, and has a great tactile feel. This is great for the power button, which usually took me a couple of tries without the case. I'd prefer the volumes weren't as easy to press, but not a big deal. The kickstand works well for me, but the charging port is at the bottom, when the kickstand is out. So you can't charge and use the kickstand at the same time. The edges of the screen are easy to use, unless you use the advanced setting in chrome that puts the menu button on the side. Also the lip, can interfere with your screen protector. I had to readjust mine to make sure it didn't line up with the edge of the lip, otherwise the lip tends to push the edge of the screen protector up.
Hope that helps, anyone considering this case.

On Amazon, Seidio claims that this case fits both the AT&T One X and the International One X. Does it indeed fit both, or just ours, or just the International? I need to buy a case, and I would prefer one with a kickstand. If anyone can tell me if the one on Amazon fits, that would be great. It would also be really helpful if you posted a link to a case for the AT&T One X that offers superior protection to the Seidio case, but also has a kickstand, but ideally I would like to order the Seidio for the AT&T One X. Sorry to be so demanding, but I won't take this phone out of my house until I get a case, and I really want to show it off at school
It does fit..i have the one for the international and it fits snuggly on my xl

Just bought this in black, the exoskeleton idea is cool. My adreama case always felt like it works scratch it when removing.
Hail Cobra!
I've always liked seidio's products. Especially their active line cases. the AT&T rep was trying to get me to buy their $50 POS hard case. I didn't, the plastic feel just isn't good for me. Plus also the seidio holster is a lot better.
I got the case in red. I think it looks great. The kickstand does feel a little cheap but it ain't bad. I can live with it When propped up, it does its job quite well. My only complaint about the case is that because the edges of the screen on this phone are not raised, the case rubs up against the edge of my screen protector and it keeps lifting it then I push it back down. I may have to try to find a screen protector that has some stickiness to it.

One side note on the Surface is the fact that when using the kickstand, the USB port is underneath, preventing you from charging it at the same time
But still, it's the best fit for the looks of the phone and protects the camera so you don't have to worry about setting it down roughly. my 2 cents
Have the same case but in black. Seems like it will def protect the phone. Feels good, haven't used the kickstand yet but will hold the phone up. Fairly easy to install and remove. Thought about the Surface case but wanted a case just for when I'm in the garage or outside at the beach or something so went with some extra protection. Rest of the time just use the phone as is with a screen protector. Like the design of the phone so don't care to have a case on it all the time.
I love the design of this phone so I want the slimmest possible case I can find. Can anyone recommend a very slim case?
same as you, didn't really want to cover it up too much since the design is so nice. I went with this and I think it will be a good match. I have the white phone so I ordered the white case:
http://www.obostore.com/nillkin-ultra-slim-hard-shield-faceplate-for-htc-one-x-p-5711.html
lots of folks recommended this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007X4XS3C/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I ordered it and it will be here Tuesday
You could get the official ones by HTC. They take minimalism to a whole new level bit the downside is its so expensive for a flimy piece of plastic. Or the feather cases by Incipio.

i ordered the black & gray ROCK cases and the case mate barely there case. the ROCK cases look nice but are definitely made for the International X. although they fit the One XL, the camera opening is about1-2 mm lower at the top. not a big issue for me at all. however, the case-mate fits perfectly and looks best! i like how the sides are angled for a perfect fit, e.g., fits the One XL's angled sides like a glove. the obvious downside is the limited protection, e.g., exposed top and bottom.
i sold both ROCK cases to a friend who has the International X and kept the case-mate. i added a couple of pics that (hopefully) show how slim and form-fitting the case-mate case is...
im going with the amzer tpu luxe arigle case had it with captivate and like it and did its job and looks good

I liked the case for the whole 5 seconds it lasted me
Funny part is that I was planning on spray painting it black cos that case only comes in orange/blue. And while i was taking the case off it snapped on me. Good thing is AT&T warranties out accessories for a whole year. I have a feeling im going to be using that warranty a lot.
You get what you ask for looking for a slim case. They don't offer any protection at all. Which for me is fine. I just don't like how hot the phone gets without a case. I ended up getting the full body zagg.

i broke my orange version of this case too. if you like to swap out cases every other day (like me) this case may not be for you because you will eventually break it, no doubt about it. i've been luckier with my blue case as it hasn't snapped on me yet.
Just ordered an Amzer Shellster case found here:
http://www.amazon.com/Amzer-AMZ9380...PA1Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338902558&sr=8-1
It's not the most "minimalist" case out there but it seems sturdy enough for repeated application and removal (which is important to me since I use multiple cases). It also comes with a holster, which most slim cases do not. It also looks like it offers great protection for the camera.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMdD2Q35_XA
I'll put up some pics and do a "mini-review" if anyone is interested.
So the case-mate barely there doesn't specify on amazon whether its for the international or att version. However I have heard that it fits ours just fine. Can anyone verify?
And also does it come with a screen protector?

Received my Amzer Shellster yesterday. I can confirm that it fits the AT&T version of the HOX.
Pros
Accurate Fit
Cutouts line up perfectly
Protects camera
Front lip keeps screen from touching when face down
Comes with a holster
Cons
Minamilistic case means it provides less protection than traditional cases
Does not cover top and bottom
Soft touch finish can be a little slippery
While the holster uses "pressure" to hold the phone it does not have an actual mechanism to secure it
Overall, the case is really nice for what it's meant to do. It is advertised as a slim case and it provides all the protection that it entails.
I have included some pics in the attachments showing the cutouts and fit, as well as the holster and front lip.
I got the case mate barely there. Overall I really like it, I wish it was a little thicker because the camera still sticks out a little.

We don't recommend the Ultra Thin Air with the AT&T version as this case was originally designed for the international version. The AT&T version of the phone is slightly longer. While the case my be compatible, it may not be a perfect fit."

Hello all,
I've always only had the Otterbox Commuter as my one and only case for phones, and with them being so slow to get out the color I want for the S4, I was wondering if I should keep waiting for a bit longer or go with another choice like the Incipio DualPro or Seidio Active. I don't have any experience with either of them, so I'm wondering if anyone who has used them can shed some light (both good and bad) on them.
Thanks.

Incipio Dual Pro is horrible. Fitment is off and constantly slips on an end, exposing the screen with no lip coverage. Luckily it was free from the ATT store for me, but i wish i chose a different case from them. I ended up ordering a minimalist JL case from amazon anyway.

Consider having a look see at the Casemate Toughcase if you like the otterbox, its actually less bulky while providing better protection for the phone. I'm very surprised this case doesn't see more play here becuase its a truly good case and I get people asking my out of the blue what it is and where I purchased it. I've got probably a dozen friends on it now and I did nothing to convince them, they mauled and pawed at the case for a few and were sold. If you are of a mind you can quickly pull up a few reviews on youtube of the case.
I've been using the Seidio Active case for a few days now. I used a 10% off coupon I found searching Google and it came out to $31 shipped. I bought the one with the grooves for your fingers. Also has a kickstand. I pull out the kickstand when holding the phone and put my ring finger under the kickstand so I have a good hold of the phone and my thumb can reach more of the screen. Kickstand also comes in handy with the smart stay option so the screen won't turn off when I'm reading. It is easy to take on and off so I can get to the battery easily. All the proper cut outs are there and are lined up perfectly. Complaints - When typing or pushing the menu / back key my fat fingers will hit the edge of the case. I just have to work on using the tip of my thumb. Depending on the angle of the phone you may not be able to see the notification light. There are covers for the volume and power button which took some getting used to but I can now hit them without looking.

How well does that case work with a glass screen protector?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I have the Incipio Dual Pro Carbon now as my temporary case. The rubber is constantly coming off from around the lip. You see the silver when this happens. Not a huge deal but in a drop it won't be that good. Also the silicone grabs a little bit of lint.
Seidio active... I have it on my Nexus 7 and had it on my Note 1.... Huge lint magnet, OLD OLD design, silicone can be warped and won't lay flat in some areas.
Otterbox Commuter.... I will order one of the colored models when available. Buttons were terrible on the S3 but it seems to have an improved design....Putting the case on seems to be better than the S3... Overalll good design.
I also ordered the Cygnett Workmate... It seems to cover the issues from the other case and offers better grip... I will know in a couple of weeks.

The edges of the case do come over the top of the device to the screen side but this is only the softer inner portion of the case and I'm thinking it would work fine but I do not use screen protectors so I'm not certain. You can see it pretty clearly in some of the youtube videos of the case so you should be able to make a call from that. A link is here ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l3X7Oxgx5I and the same fellow reviews several others which might catch your interest as well.
I've included a couple pictures that show something you cant see there. The one is of my year old S3 case next to my brand new S4 case. Notice how the thing still looks new? The other seems like kind of an oddball picture but what you are looking at is the largest portion of the soft inner case and the thing to notice there is the lack of lint. While these do catch a tiny bit of lint it is very little as you can see there. I did not clean the case up, it went from my pocket to the drawer after my S4 got here.
On my S3 I have had my phone in that case directly alongside a friend who had his in a commuter case and we both agreed that this case felt better in the hand and it had a more premium feel. It also has better grip but does not hang in the pocket. He in fact is one of the people I know who ditched his case and got the Casemate instead. Now I've obviously not seen the Otterbox for the S4 yet but it appears much like the Casemate counterpart to be pretty much a rehash and I would expect that they will compare similarly again.

I bought mine (Dual Pro) at a TMob store. I totally disgaree regarding overlapping screen. It TOTALLY protects the screen via it's superb fit overlapping. Plus it has a nice "feel just holding it'. Used to have a Body Glovefor my S3. The bodyglove was on the thick side and it just didn't have the same tactile feeling when holding the phone. Mine is black with Grey...IOW two tone. Only saw it in a TMob store. Solid colors online from this link.

Man, that is some kind of funky back they have there. How does it feel? What is it?
And you said that Casemate offers better protection than the Commuter, any links to vids/proof to this? Cause if that's true, then that's a great deal. It looks like it is as bulky as the DualPro. Lastly, how are the colors with the Casemate? Got sick of all black, and that's why I've been looking elsewhere while waiting for the Commuter colors. Thanks.
Incipio DualPro
I purchased my Incipio DualPro from an AT&T store ($35 + tax) just to have something to protect the phone while I figure out what I really want as far as a case. I went in to get the cheapest thing they had but really liked the look of the fake carbon fiber which looks even better in person. But, the silicone layer is so loose and floppy that even with the stiff Plextonium frame:laugh:, it won't hold its shape leaving the bezel exposed where the fancy named frame isn't. This case had the makings of a winner.
Love this look:
Hate this:
Returned to AT&T store today!
The outer shell is plastic. It has the appearence of the knurling you see on a ratchet handle for example. In person it looks good and has a better feel than that of the Otterbox counterpart. The bulk of the case is about the same as the commuter, it is designed for protection and those who would avoid the Otterbox commuter for that reason would want to avoid it as well. That said it is slighly less bulky than its commuter counterpart because it is thinner.
As to protection there are no sure proofs, no 1000 phones dropped and here is the absolute numbers, test. You have to look at the case and make a judgement. The casemate clearly covers the corners better and has a better fit which combined with what are visibly better materials means you can pretty much figure your phone has a better chance than it does in the commuter. There is no sure thing. I had my S2 and then S3 both in the same case for those phones and while I haven't dropped the S4 yet I did have occasion to drop both of those several times and neither suffered a scratch although again no case will protect against bad luck.
In regards to the colors, I've no idea. I always go black so have never looked. Best bet might be to check the case out in a store. Its popular enough that I noticed our AT&T shop here had some on the shelf for S3s. Or if you have a case kiosk at the mall they will likely have one and you can check out the material yourself. Casemate has many other cases but I have no experience with them. I was Otterbox all the way till I ran into the toughcase which just plain out commuters the commuter at its own game. IMO
Looking at the dimensions of all the products, it looks like Casemate is the bulkiest, with Otterbox second, and Incipio DualPro the least bulkiest.
The one thing I'm not a fan of the Casemate from the pictures is that there seems to be more open exposed areas, especially at the top.
I ordered the Dual Pro case and have been waiting for it to come in.... I bought the Body Glove Dimensions case from the T-Mobile store just to have something on it until the Dual Pro case came in...The Dual Pro case looked really nice in the store but I want the white and gray one that they didn't have.. Now I'm hearing all the crappy reviews about the Dual Pro case and I'm having buyers remorse...Maybe I will get one from a good batch that will fit like a glove...UNLIKELY!!!! Anyway the Body Glove Dimensions case feels really good in my hand and looks nice however it doesn't protect anything just nice and slim.

Im not sure where you are getting your dimensions from but I can tell you from actually having both in my hand with the S3 the toughcase is slimmer. Since it appears that the Commuter is a reboot with a few minor changes just as the toughcase is for S4 I'm pretty sure you are going to see the same thing again. Also the only openings on the tough case are where the IR and headphone jacks are and the same applies on the bottom where there is no opening other than the two ports there. The Otterbox possesses exactly the same openings in their case and then unlike the otterbox the casemate piece does not have the wide open corners which are the single most likely spot for the phone to hit in a drop.
lol Sometimes you just cant let a favorite go, I do it myself. Either way you're getting a good case that stands a real chance of saving your overpriced ludicrously profitable for Samsung device so its all good. :good:

You do have to remember that those that have problems are usually the ones that take to online to complain, so just take all the amount of bad stuff with a grain of salt.

:silly: I think on the corners, they both go about it differently, Otterbox has the silicone there, and casemate has both, with the plastic outside. Bet they both have their own science reasons for doing it that way lol.
I'll wait it out a little while longer before deciding. I think my biggest concern about the casemate is that I won't like how the textured back feels.

Mine does exactly this.
I just saw that UAG (urban armor gear) is going to start shipping their cases soon.... might have to look into them now :/
Never had a one piece polycarbonate silicone case before.
So as many of you waiting for your pre-orders last week I went ahead and looked for an ultra slim case for everyday use. Spigen seemed to be a household name and went ahead and bought their Ultra Fit for $10:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I3ULRZG
I was satisfied with it, matte white, fit perfect and snug, protected the back camera and sensors when placed on a table, nothing to complain about. I had thrown out the screen cover because the cut outs were not precise at all, in fact there was no cut out for the upper sensors, only for the home button. Why would i ruin front camera quality with the screen protector over it? yuck.
I then came across Ringke Slim. I have never heard of them before but judging by their high number of reviews, it seemed that they were well versed as well in the case game. at this time i also wanted to get an electric blue case because i got tired of plain white super quick. Also, the screen protector actually had the PERFECT cut out for all sensors and front camera. This was super impressive to me and I gladly put it on even though I don't care much for screen covers in general. This is what i ordered for $9 including shipping:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IPKHP64
Well i received it today and WOW it was made of a far superior plastic. It wasn't because it was thicker but it felt very different. it felt more denser, less paper like. i compared tapping each and the Spigen was very "airy" felt cheap and very "hollow" (best way i could describe it). The sides were completely covered as opposed open which isn't a bad thing but it did feel more complete as a case. Cut outs were perfect as well and charging hasn't been a problem. I quickly realized the Spigen case is actually not as great as I thought now that I had something to really compare it to. I started seeing on the Spigen where the plastic was punched out of the mold (check picture).
Anyways enough talk here's the pictures:
http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.co....jpg?key=nBsLK_haY5suFrjdcOa0hA&ts=1397604778
And the gallery plus the Spigen white case for comparison. Notice the inside of the Spigen, wasn't even spray painted completely most likely because they used a clamp to spin it while spraying
http://imgur.com/a/MxMFH
As you can tell Ringke > Spigen in the affordable ultra slim case category.

Agreed, i bought both through amazon, and while i didnt care to use any of the screen protectors the Ringke is MUCH better and really sleek looking. Material kind of feels like the back of the phone and even looks like the back. Only downside is i hate trying to get the freaking waterproof flap out at night! Grrrr
I too have this case and am liking it.
It is hard to hook your fingernail to get the charging flap open although I assume most cases will be similar.
Ok...I'll jump aboard. I bought two cases before I got the S5 in my hands. One was the Ringke and the other was the Spigen Tough Armor.
While the Tough Armor is a very solid case and looks great, it makes the S5 feel like a brick in my hands. On the other hand, the Ringke Slim has a similar texture and gripability as the S5 naked. It doesn't even feel like the device has a case on it at all.
Nice! Defo would give Spigen a run for its money! Great to see competition here and there. At the end, we, the consumers, would benefit on it. More options, right?
Yea I just orderd 2 new Ringke cases. Ill post em up when they comr in tomorrow

thanks for this review man. Was about to order a spigen case and then saw this and after a little more research i just ordered the ringke. I went with the Dot black, I'll post up some pictures to compare with other colors once it comes in.
I got the DOT black I ordered from their site and got the case plus screen protector for $10 with free shipping

I got this case delivered today.. It is AWESOME and for 5 bucks it was a steal.. I crumbled up the useless screen protector and threw it out
I should have gotten white though, because my phone is white and I got the blue color. It kind of looks funny.. I thought blue and white would look good.
It doesn't
I got the spigen neohybrid case and their glas.tr slim glass screen protector. Had literally the same setup on my s4 lol same yellow trim too

I like the case. It feels good in your hand when you hold the phone.
One thing though, on my case the lip around the chrome front trim sides covers more than the lip on the top and bottom. At first I thought I didn't snap it in all the way but it seems like that's just the way it is? Is that how it fits for the rest of you that already have the case?

That's how they all are. Actually I really like this design. It's almost as if its spring loaded, its smaller than our phone, it doesn't just fit like a glove, its actually too small. But the cut outs on the top and bottom allow the plastic to "flex" basically its as if its gripping the hell out of phone, holding into place.
The Spigen hybrid I had for my GS4 was awesome looking, but broke all the time (plastic by the bottom) in anycase, this one is just as nice IMO.
Doesn't add much thickness at all, but will save it from a drop and the camera while on a desk.
If anyone is wondering, I just dunked my phone for 30 minutes with this case. So it doesn't effect the IP68(yea, I said 8, because this thing is pretty much water PROOF) rating.

@chillsen Hey OP, after I read your 1st psot I figured id give it a shot. I've had bad experiences with her cases and the one that you posted a pic of, is the same one I got as well. I got it 3 days ago, and still haven't put it on, in fear it will scratch the outer bezel while putting it on, and taking it off
Have on had this issue at all? Seems like a real snug fit, thought if ask before I pushed my hone into the car lol.... Thanks bud!

i can only say i've had to take the case off and on many times to show off to my friends how thin the actual phone is. i mastered how to take it off by pressing outwards the top left corner. you push it out enough so you can fit a finger through and i just slide it down the side and the whole case pops off. this is the easiest way i found. at first i had a problem because i didn't try a corner but started from the middle of the long side. but to answer your question, no scratches.

I'm 100% sure they are fake. Look at the feedback page, it's full of "Excellent!" and "good quality" multiple times by the same few user accounts.
I just got this delivered today with the white dot pattern. I also ordered the wireless charging back the other day, definitely don't think wireless charging will work with this on - what an idiot I am.
Just got my Incipio dualpro midnight blue case from NewEgg ($15).
Thought I would upload a few pics for anyone interested and give my two cents.
I chose this case because of the two layers = better protection. The outer layer is smooth, and the areas that aren't covered by the hard outer plastic are smooth as well, thus it'll go in and out of pockets reasonably well.
The inner plastic is harder than I expected, but I've never used a case on any of my phones in 6 years
The inner layer didn't seem to want to come out of the outer layer that easily so I didn't force it. I just pushed the phone into the whole case. It went in easy enough. After it was on the phone the outer hard layer peeled off easily for easy removal of the phone.
All the holes line up perfect. However the USB-C Port hole is just wide enough for the cable shipped with the phone thus some adapters I have won't fit.
Of course the buttons are now harder to press. Some reviews said it was very hard, they aren't IF you press the buttons squarely straight on, but if you squeeze the phone to push the buttons then they seem very hard. So, it's more of an angle thing when pushing the buttons.
Most of the case doesn't flex/move when you squeeze the phone, but the area where the buttons are does as there's no hard plastic in that area. So a screen protector needs to be just slightly into the black bezel on the side, about 0.5mm imo. I won't be using a screen protector....
I wasn't sure about the color until I seen a review of the same case for the Note 8 on YouTube. It's a nice dark blue with a slight shine at an angle. From a distance it looks black. It looks much better than the pictures on Amazon or NewEgg.
Personally I don't think it adds that much thickness but it certainly isn't the slimmest case possible but I'll take the 10 foot drop protection instead! Hey, it's still smaller that my Moto X Pure
I can see it will collect dust and stuff around the edges, and like I've read elsewhere, it's probably wise to put a micro fiber cloth on the back of the phone inside the case so that any grit that gets in there won't scratch up the back..... If you want to go that far.
Almost forgot..... The all important effect on signal. I read one reviewer say it dampened signal noticeable. Not in my case. I actually seem to have gotten an improvement. I was usually sitting at -96dBm and now it looks stable at -93dBm or better. I did notice when testing signal that how I held the phone affected the signal..... So who knows....
If anyone has questions feel free to ask.
I have the smoke clear incipio and love it. Paired with my iq shield screen protector, im set. I buy incipio for everything
I've had this one in black since I got the phone and the Tudia Glost and I always come back to this one. Best case for this phone in my opinion.
Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
If you use the 360 camera more often like me then this case is what you need, and you don't have to take your case off to attach the camera. I have Tudia case bought from Amazon and it's a very good case if you don't have the camera.

I just got the same midnight blue case today, and it is very nice. I wasn't quite sure what the color would look like since it's advertised as being irridescent, but there's no sparkle to it at all, which I appreciate. I also have Incipio's smoke TPU case, which is nice, but a horrible greasy fingerprint magnet, and I have the Poetic carbon fiber case, which is a great size and feels great in the hand, but it's kind of cheesy looking, in my opinion. I will agree that the inner layer of the DualPro is stiff. My wife has had DualPro cases on her phones for years, and they've all had a very soft rubber inner liner with easy to press buttons. I don't know why they changed that for the Essential case. I'm probably going to slit the buttons with a sharp knife. That's always helped on other stiff cases.

I just got this Dualpro blue case for my essential phone and i love it! Thanks to the OP for the pictures it made me choose the blue color. It looks much much better than what they show before you buy the case. It also provides excellent protection. The only thing i don't like is that the side buttons are a bit stiff but i guess they will soften up the more i use them. Overall i recommend this dualpro case.

Take the TPU off the phone and really massage/push/bend the buttons on the case for a few minutes.... That'll soften them up!

I've had this Incipio on every phone I've owned that they supported. This is the most I've ever paid for the case, normally they are $5 or $10 off Amazon or eBay. I had to pay almost $20 for this one on Amazon. I sold 2 of the 3 essential I got from prime day so I basically got the phone, USB C PD car charger, and case for free anyways.

Yeah, if I knew I'd like the device I'd have bought two or three. As it stands I like the one I have..... a lot.

I've had this one in black since I got the phone and the Tudia Glost and I always come back to this one. Best case for this phone in my opinion.

Thanks, had to decide between the Tudia and the Incipio model and I will now be going for the Incipio case!
Just got my essential phone and ordered the incipio dualpro. Any recommendations for glass protectors that would suit the incipio dualpro case? I intend to use loca for the installation. Thank in advance
All, recently bought this phone during Prime Day. Too good of a deal to miss! It looks beautiful but very wary of it staying that way so based on your various experiences what would you say is the best slimline case? The Incipio looks good but does add quite a bit of bulk to the phone...

this screen seems extremely fragile based on videos on youtube, posts on reddit and xda etc. For a phone that hasn't sold too well, it seems like there's a lot of broken screens out there. This made me decide to go for the incipio dualpro, hopefully with the additional protection, i'll be able to keep the screen intact!

I'm not sure what people are doing to their phones. I have a cheap tpu case and a plastic screen protector.
