This might be just my imagination playing tricks on me, but after rooting/Soff/Flashing my Inspire, I seem to notice that the interface is not quite so snappy as it was with the stock AT&T ROM. I've observed it with both the rooted base stock ROM from Bubby and with the RCMiXHD_v5.1 Gingerbread ROM.
I just rooted mine last night, and it seemed a tad slow (Milliseconds ) until I restarted it, now, theres not enough difference for me to care.
Wait, scratch that, my slowness was caused by a messed up set cpu setting, my phone was fine last night and today under normal circumstances.
Hmmm... ok, so how does one change the CPU setting?

Most gingerbread roms are going to be a little laggy for the simple fact that the base is a leaked version of gingerbread. Until they get a fully operational version with source released or port the Desire Z rom it will continue to run a little slow.
Try flashing ClearDroid or TCP stock, you will be able to tell a difference in speed.

you will need to download "setcpu" to allow for overclock.
Anyone having issues with their Thunderbolt shutting off and the only way to turn it back on is to do a battery pull? I'm rooted running Ginger3DTh3ory 6.2, but it did this also when I was running Bamf 3.0. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
No idea, are you oc'd?

Let me describe what mine has done a few times and you tell me if that's what you're talking about. Twice, in the last 2 days, it's just locked up with the screen off. It doesn't respond to power or volume buttons. Only way to get it to work again it to pull that battery.
BUT... the weirdest thing happened the last time. It did it while I was in a call. I could answer with my bluetooth, talk, and hang up with my bluetooth, but the phone wouldn't respond to anything I did to it.
Is this what you're talking about?
Sound like SOD = Sleep of Death. It doesn't happen to much but a pain in the rear...switch Ur govenor from interativex to ondamandx see if that fixes it

I've had this problem quite a bit lately with the same roms. I switched to Gingeritis3D beta 6 and the problem seems to have gone away. Gingeritis and some other roms are starting to claim they are using an official build of GB and not the alpha leak version. That could be the issue.

the official build's kernel is a piece of crap that is leading to a whole new batch of reboots.
OP, that is usually an issue where your phone is not getting enough voltage. I would do what the other poster suggested and switch your governor. It will give the phone a little more juice so it doesn't do that.
All phones are different when it comes to that stuff.
Thanks forvthe responses. I'm not OC'd and I'm not sure where in this rom I can change my governor. Its only happened once with those rom so far, hoping its just a fluke.
Mines running fine. Maybe try reflashing?

you have to open terminal emulator (I think its preinstalled on gingertheory, if not there is a free one in the market).
type su (hit enter), it might drop your keyboard, pressing menu will let you reopen it.
type speedtweak.sh
This will open script fusion, there you can change the governor to ondemandx.
How is CM7 working now? when I had one, it would drop data, boot with no data, and the battery drivers were all screwed up...how is it now? Have a lot of the mistakes been corrected from the original G2x's that were shipped? (reboots, data drops, etc)...??? Any help would be appreciated. Tired of this Single core phone, and found a good deal on a G2x.

Mine is working great.. Came running 2.3.3 with no problems. I rooted and left stock rom for awhile still no problems. Then flashed faux123's oc/uv kernel ran fantastic. Tried a few different roms and settled on triggers 8/22 2.3.5 rom with faux123's oc/uv kernel as my daily driver with no problems so far...

Running the CM7 nightly on my G2x for past two days. Haven't noticed any problems. Been stable, battery life is good.
The APN Issue is still there, but it no longer drops data. Battery life is AMAZING now.
I couldn't deal with the piece of **** iPhone 4. I came running back to the G2x. Ive kept it stock so far and it's amazing!

I've been running MIUI. WiFi Calling isn't working yet (which sucks) but I'm using Faux's 4.2 Kernel and getting great battery life and very little issues.
With Faux's kernel, WiFi will sometimes fail which requires a restart, and sometimes using USB Mass Storage will lock up.
Sounds bad, but aside from WiFi calling not working, the other issues are pretty rare.

yes one of the most stable roms, it is based off stock 2.3.3 but imo way better with the edt tweaks such as lockscreens and battery configurations, very fast and reliable
By the way. Has the reboot issue been fixed if i flash the newest weapon?

For me, I had absolutely no reboots at all on the newest version until I went and flashed Faux's OC/UV kernel. To be fair, my battery life is plenty better, just a little unstable. Weapon by itself is amazing.
EDIT: Forgot to say I came from 2.3.5, so I came from a complete wipe.
I am currently running beans custom stock ROM v5 and I haven't ran synergy yet but I was wondering which ROM was better. Before I get Beans v6 I'd like to have some input on which ROM was better based on battery life/other things.

Well I started with bean R2 when I first rooted. Then tried synergy which my buddy had phenomenal battery life with. I however didn't even though I was running less and theoretically should have had better. I gave it a week but didn't see any improvement. Went back to bean but tried his updated 3.1. Was better than synergy In my opinion as far as battery life goes but had some quarks with it. Next day he came out with V5 so I flashed that. Had worse battery life than 3.1 but better than synergy. Meanwhile my buddy was still getting better battery life with his synergy. I decided to go back to the original R2 I had at first. It is the best performing For ME. I would try each and see what you like better. I was on my the boat all day today (again, currently running R2) and got 84% 12 hours. Keep in mind most of that was minimal use of texts and web browsing. Mist was screen off with with setcpu screen off profile (348). Still was nice to have a full day with it turned on even if screen was off and then still have a full battery to use when I got off the river.
For me...bean R2 for the win. I don't mind wiping and trying a promising ROM but I also like having a solid ROM that gets me what I want/need without having to worry about what the next new thing is.

I'm also using beans r6. Everything seems a lot smoother...but my phone does run hot. He has the default CPU set at 1.9 gighz. Sometimes it doesn't clock down with the app. I'm going to try synergy when they release the new version...but its hard not to like beans.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I used both, beans r5 kept rebooting on me but the battery life seemed better than stock. Then i switched to synergy 1.3 and it is an awesome rom. 4x5 homescreen alone is worth the upgrade from bean, but the battery is just a little less than bean r5. I have no tried r6 but i dont think i will because i just flashed CM10 an hour ago and couldint be happier. I forgot how much i miss stock android JB (used to have galaxy nexus). its a lot smoother and better to use and look at obviously. Only thing i dislike about the rom is the hardware buttons back and menu dont turn off they stay on if the screen is on, but its not that bad. I saw Flash CM10 you will be happy!
CM10 is a half working rom at this point, don't know how anybody uses it as a reliable daily driver, as for clocking on Bean's rom, you can control it yourself, just run the cpu bin from a terminal window, or use rom tools or setcpu
I use beans but I use beans 3.1 before the stupid overclocked kernel and before kexec kernel /recovery

the overclock issue is fixed...beans b6 rocks! actually i never had that issue anyways.
I think I'm going to stick with beans r6 I'm loving the jelly bean theme. If your complaining about battery on beans because of the kernel just under clock it or use power saving, your phone will not run hot and you will get better battery life. If you want a higher clock speed use 1512 or 1674 MHz, you may run a little hotter and your battery may drop a little faster than if you were on power saving though.

I have to disagree strongly with the assertion that CM10 is a "half working rom." If you're not one of the people experiencing data connectivity issues, the current bugs are: bluetooth audio, MMS, camera autofocus with stock camera app (for some), and that native wifi tethering only works unsecured (usb & bluetooth tethering work fine.)
I used it as my daily driver from 7/21 on, and the only thing I personally missed was secure wifi tethering. If the above bugs don't affect things that you use, CM10 is much snappier overall than any of the 4.0 based roms.
I actually decided to try Beans again just to see if I missed any touchwiz features (smart stay, direct dial, etc.)
synergy
I'm currently running synergy v1.3, but i liked v1.2 a lot better. Mainly because the grid size was changed so now widgets look a little weird on my phone =/ but other than that i haven't had a problem. Battery life is insanely good. I used bean's rom when it first came out, got me 50gb of dropbox for free which was awesome. The stock apps weren't on the first build though, that's why i switched over to synergy. I think Bean's rom has them back on though. I suggest trying them both and making backups, they're both very good
Yea Im running Beans v6 just upgraded from either 3 or 2, and yea its wicked fast. I guess with Synergy there are more themes but they should work on Beans too. Anyway it is definitely worth a try just backup beforehand :good:

They are both good. It's a subjective preference and you won't know which you prefer until you try both.

LOL, all those bugs certainly sound like it is half working (or not working depending on how you look at it).
I tried it for a few days & will definitely agree that's it's way to buggy to be a daily driver at this point.
IMHO, to be a daily driver all the native functions the system came with have to work 100%
Yeah synergy 1.4 is insanely snappy and quick. To a noticeable degree. I love v6 of beans though, but synergy just goes without having to be pushed
But I still use both just to get my flash fix, lol. Beans has more of what I'm looking for (aosp theme) with stock feel.

Just the thread I was looking for! I am currently getting tired of the random bugs with CM10, but I'm wondering if I can just flash Synergy or Beans the way I have been flashing CM10 builds using the Kexec recovery. It looks like Beans does this method, but I just want to confirm before I brick my phone
Synergy
I'm using Synergy atm and I love it so far..... Battery life is amazing....

I think both are great RomS. I personally have synergy installed right now because it was just released. There are some things I like about synergy and some things I like about beans. With beans you can flash different kernels without any problems but when I try to flash different kernels on the synergy1.4 I keep getting bootloop. Beans and synergy both seem to be pretty good on batter but I also use CPU sleeper which might also help.

Yeah. 1.4 isn't compatible with custom kernels, I'm waiting for a possible fix until I flash 1.4 just because Imoseyons lean kernel is amazing on this phone. I've gotten a day and a half on a single charge with 4 he's and 29 minutes in screen time..plus I also use CPU sleeper with the lean kernel you can also have your phone speed charge..and I mean really fast compared to stock.
Current~Samsung Galaxy S3 SynergyRom 1.3 & Imo's Lean Kernel v12 Oc'd @ 1.9ghz
~Acer Iconia A500 Stock
Past~Droid X Gummy ICS 1.2
So lately I've been working late and I am allowed to use my phone to listen to music at work. On days that I work late, I am forced to bring my phone charger to work because it doesn't last me all day, not even close. According to my battery page in settings, I've had a screen time of only 40 minutes today, and listened to roughly only 20 minutes of music with a few short texts sent here and there and I'm already down to 74% battery life. I am running the most recent official Liquidsmooth (2.3 release) and have my brightness turned way down, and the CPU turned down to a max of 1124Mhz. I am also running the kernel that comes with the ROM, which I'm almost positive is LeanKernel.
Is it normal to be draining my battery this fast with not even an hour of screen time and barely using it? I even turn off data usage when I don't use my phone because I'm concerned about battery life. Is there anything I can do to improve battery life? I don't even touch the Voltage Settings and Advanced Settings under the Performance section, because I don't want to touch anything I don't know what to do or what settings make the ROM unstable. Anyone who can suggest good settings for more stable battery life, even if it sacrifices performance would be a huge help too! Thank you in advanced

Hear hear. Great rom but something is burning my battery in this rom.
I agree! I love it, I've tried so many ones and this is the only one I've been completely satisfied with basically every aspect! Except the only thing I can complain about is the battery life. Anyone have any suggestions?! I'm already down to 55% battery now

Thanks! I downloaded and flashed it. No problems here. Just need to find the correct tweaks for better battery life.
Let me know what you find. I'm still on the stock lean kernel for LS
I'm curious as well what these battery tweaks are. I installed liquidsmooth 2.4 over the weekend and have since moved back to my rooted stock primarily because of battery drain. I really like the aosp interface but can't afford to have it rape my battery. I was getting like 6 Hrs only on a charge. With my stock rooted rom I get about 19 Hrs on a full charge.
I am using liquidsmooth 2.4 and have been going for 17hrs today still got 20% left. I have the lean kernel that it flashes with and never had battery issues.

Wow that's impressive. Did you do a clean install of the rom or did you do a upgrade from a previous version? Did you have do any post install tweaks other than the usual (settting screen brightness to low and etc)?
